7165  Economy / Gambling / Re: FreeBitco.in - Contest with $30,000 in GUARANTEED PRIZES now live! on: January 11, 2019, 09:18:07 AM

How can you bet nothing? I just tried it and I couldn't wager.

Also, I lost most of my last recent deposit not because I started betting high but because I took the risk on a higher increase on losing bet strategy. In fact, my biggest bets on the site have resulted in wins (two times 0.006 BTC).

Provably fair means you can check your own claims. Results are fair.

If you think they're scammers, why are you using their free sats?

I think what he meant was when he wasn't betting, they were not checking so everything was good until he started.

This is a lending subforum, not for you to spam your website links.
7167  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Are you getting addicted to cryptocurrency? Lets help you. on: January 11, 2019, 07:09:49 AM
I reckon the true addictions affected most of us during the 2017 bull run. After a full year of lows, I'm totally immune to it Cheesy
7168  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: I GOT HACKED AND LOST 1 MILLION on: January 11, 2019, 06:52:12 AM
Well, the simplest change to make to more likely avoid such problems is to not use Windows.

Linux is not virus proof, but a much smaller and harder target for hackers.
Ubuntu is simple to install and easy to use.

Windows virus checkers do not detect 'viruses' they detect 'known viruses'
This case clearly shows that.
... and that is by design by McAfee years ago to ensure an ongoing income stream.

Botnets of 100's of 1000's of windows machines are not urban legends, they're fact.

If you wish to reduce you risk storing currency on a computer, use linux, but also understand how to do that safely.

Unfortunately most of us use Windows and are so familiar with it, that is has been part of our lives. I've used Linux before but eventually gave it up because Windows has everything I need (apps-wise).

One way to not get hacked besides not keeping 'em on exchanges is to use common sense.

No matter how advanced anti-viruses could be, simply being careless won't protect your system from being compromised.

You could have a super-strong password to any offline wallet(s) but if you managed to get phished, its game over.

IMO, I'd rather not snip quotes for reference purposes. Unless that post has multiples quotes to it.
7170  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Litecoin Giveaway is SCAM on: January 11, 2019, 05:00:01 AM
While they even have the nerve to use HTTPS, anything that requires you to send funds to some unknown address reeks of a scam.

I checked the website and after seeing the "send X LTC and receive Y LTC", no doubt about it.
7171  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Problem: Lost today $2000 on PrimeDice on: January 11, 2019, 04:27:27 AM

This is some bad luck- but wanting to die is no joking matter.
The 1st thing I was did was check to see if OP had made any more posts, which he has done:

If losing this much amount of money will make you feel this depressed, it might be a time to stop gambling so much.

It's usually just a temporary sentiment, pretty normal when you can't believe you burned such a huge figure.

I felt pretty shit too after losing 1K in less than 5 minutes, but the next day everything was back to normal.
7172  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: RE: How to earn Bitcoins - Part 1 on: January 10, 2019, 06:29:33 PM
I cant check up if the post has been edited, and if so, when last. But the thread was made in 2016, so lots have changed since then.
Faucets are no longer worth the stress.

If you have a handful and are mobile, faucets are still not too bad since they only take a few minutes.

I stick to my 7 (2 on mobile) faucets and just claim once every like 1 hour or so.

7174  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How can we protect ourselves from scam? on: January 10, 2019, 09:47:10 AM
Avoid depositing funds for those "extra" tokens during their ICO. Although we might have submitted our KYC documents because we had to do the same for exchanges and airdrops, at least we don't part with our money.

One ICO that went poof was Superbloom. And that time it was offering extra SEED tokens if members were to deposit ETH.
7175  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Allert about Stellar Airdrop on: January 10, 2019, 09:43:49 AM
Thanks for this reminder, i did sign up for the original blockchain.com stellar airdrop. But never got theur email to get it i think, is the original blockchain.com airdrop still running/available?

The site you mention looks scammy though.

It's over. We're in the same boat, and neither of us received any email to complete the KYC.
7176  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Can we post link for any article? on: January 10, 2019, 09:40:22 AM
Just don't copy / paste articles or content without referencing the source, otherwise you'll get banned for plagiarism.

Is it a one-time bannable thingy?
7177  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How did you feel about your first payment???? on: January 10, 2019, 09:09:42 AM
Back when Bitcoin was mooning over $6,000, I was damn ecstatic when I paid 0.03 BTC for a CSGO knife. And that was the time I realized I managed to buy some BTCs with some chump change.

I'm not sure if Reddit counts as one, but it's pretty active if you find the official/ real subreddits. Lots of news on the feed daily.
