7161  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Loss in trading on: January 26, 2018, 12:35:09 AM
To feel lost in trading is normal when you are new in this world. We are impatient creatures, we need profits now, just now. There is the biggest problem with investments, and trading: they need too much patience. Is just that: try to boy when prices are low or seems to be getting as low as can be. Then, wait, wait, wait, be patient, do not despair, for, surely, it is going to grow again.

Panic selling makes a lot of people rich. People who have the necessary patience to stay, to hold till the prices reach the point of interest.
Selling when you don’t have any profits is never going to be wise. So hold, hold and patiently wait should be your motto.
7162  Other / Archival / Re: Are you worried? on: January 25, 2018, 07:36:38 PM
Since the market is going down and down are you worried about your Bitcoin? I saw someone asking what to do with his/her bitcoin? S/he has 12 bitcoin. What are you doing with your bitcoin?

To hold And to stay calm. This is what I do. BTC has shown us how can its price can jump up and down, but some people seems to forget all that happens last year: from around $1000, BTC increased its value to $20000 and then stayed (for now) in about $11.000. Well, it grew a lot in a year: from $1000 to ten times its value: $10.000.
Pesimistas thoughts just don’t have place in my mind. I feel BTC is great and it is going to still being great for a long time.
Experts said this year probably BTC is going to fall to $5000 and also reach the $50000. When and how? Who nows, but I believe they are right.
For instance, check this link: https://walletinvestor.com/forecast/bitcoin-prediction

Of course it is just a prediction, but has the same fundament than pessimistic predictions, so I choose the optimistic ones. Smiley
7163  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin gambling as investment? on: January 25, 2018, 03:13:17 PM
Gambling is gambling. There is always a chance to loose everything, and I will never put my money in another hands to gamble with it. If you want to do it by yourself, go ahead, but gambling is not an investment.

If anybody try to sell yo gambling as an investment, this person is, definitely, trying to cheat you. There is no such a kind of investment, you can’t even use the word “investment” and in the same phrase “gambling”, for it is absurd. Investment is supposed to be something that give you confident and uses your money wisely, so you can earn (and of course the investor) more money. Usually it needs time and patience, but never, I repeat, NEVER, gambling is involve.

I'm sorry, I believe someone is trying to cheat you.
7164  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: is litecoin as an investment done? on: January 24, 2018, 07:20:58 PM
I just want to know the general feeling from everyone around. i know the market is in correction but overall, i feel that litecoin will not go near 300 again.

I think Litecoin has a bright future, for as long as BTC become more expensive, so does Litecoin. Do not forget all the altcoins performs in straight relationship with Bitcoin, so if BTC rises its price, so do altcoins.

Let me explain myself: for instance, you want to buy some Litecoins. Well, you will need to buy BTC first and then you can change your BTC for Litecoin. If BTC´s price is, for example, $ 10.000 and Litecoin´s value is 0.1 BTC, then 0.1 BTC is going to be its price. So, if BTC´s price changes to $15.000, Litecoin will still be in 0.1 BTC, but it has another price in dollars, of course. Then the altcoin market is controlled by the BTC value.
7165  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is 2018 the downfall of bitcoin? on: January 24, 2018, 04:43:11 PM
*Newbie Here!* Because of fluctuations in the value of bitcoin, is 2018 going to be the biggest downfall of bitcoin? What do you think?

Another apocalyptic thought!! Yet, lot of people feels this way.

It remembers me the 2000 crisis when people used to believe the world was going to go to its end due to the change of millennium in the machines… I truly remember how even my friends and family where scared thinking at the end of the world!

Well, it is common to be afraid and to have those apocalyptic thoughts when you don’t have enough information, for it seems to be a total chaos.
As it's been told to you, I strongly recommended to stay reading for a while here in the forum and you will learn enough to see that BTC is here to stay and how it fluctuates all the time and never disappears!!
7166  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How do you get the latest news? :) on: January 24, 2018, 03:20:16 PM
Hello Smiley What is your strategy? I feel like I'm always behind and I'm eager to learn.

Thank you

I usually use:
-  google: you type “Bitcoin” and then you select the “news” section and in “tools”, the “last 24 hour” section. I use it in order to see what is said in international newspapers about BTC, but not to get “fresh fish”
- Coinbase (to see whats going on with prices and stuff)
- Coindesk (you will find there tons of articles about crypto, it is a specialized page)
- Coinmarketcap (all the crypto and their prices are shown in there)
- Twitter (no need to explain) Tongue

And of course, one of the best ways to be always updated is this forum, you can go to Bitcoin>Bitcoin Discussion> Press. There is always tons of new information about whats going on with crypto and also about whats going on with papers, governments, &CO.
7167  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why media against bitcoin ? on: January 24, 2018, 02:42:23 PM
when ever I found any news about bitcoin it is negative news , i am confused why traditional mass media always against bitcoin ?

Well, if you go to google and type “Bitcoin”, then select the “news” section and in “tools” pic the “last 24 hours” you will see a heterogeneous panorama where news about Btc shows many faces.

I think this is really useful when you try to see what’s going on with international papers and how cryptocurrencies are shown on them.
For instance, I discovered that it is usual to see in the conservative newspaper no news at all, or in the rare case where the mention to BTC exists, you can see not a good word about it. However, in progressive newspapers is common to read deferents points of view, from the total hate to the most passionate love to cryptocurrencies.

The general tone of the speech seems to be, as said, heterogeneous and may be related to the country newspapers are from.
7168  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Crypto Bloodbath.. on: January 23, 2018, 09:45:47 PM
The crypto market are currently all in red. It seems that there is a bloodbath. How long do you think will it take and what do you think is the reason behind it? Is it just a massive price correction or is it the end for the crypto world? Just want to know your opinion about it.

Well, many people choose to see the black side, but I think they are losing their point. Let’s see the bright side: a year ago the price of Bitcoin was $900, Ethereum cost $10, and Bitcoin Cash didn’t even exist…

Look at the present: now, BTC is around $10,000, and Ether more or less $1,000, we now have Bitcoin Cash, which price goes around $1,600!!!
Yes, Crypto has been falling a bit from the last weeks, but just analyze where they are now!!
I think this is wise to stay on earth and do not lose the point: the cryptocurrencies are just babies, recently born, and they have a bright way ahead.
7169  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: bitcoin prices not rising! should we trade or hold? on: January 23, 2018, 06:53:44 PM
it was predicted that bitcoin prices would fall in the last week of 2017 and rise in the first week of 2018 but none of that has happent rather the price has beet pretty stable around 13500 usd.
what are your opinion on this,is it the time to trade or hold because i dont have enough funds to buy or invest more.

To me it is clear as crystal: if the price is getting low, then you should hold your BTC until it rises again. Maybe it will take a bit, but surely it will increase its price again, as we have seen from the whole past year.

I believe one of the reasons why BTC is still falling down is the panic selling that has been happening for the last weeks.

Selling now instead of holding your BTC maybe means to lose money, and this is not an option for me, to be honest.

To stop believing in BTC is not wise, from my point of view, just because they are here to stay.
7170  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: In what situation would Bitcoin die? on: January 23, 2018, 03:14:33 PM
How and why would the end of bitcoin (and any other cryptocurrency) occur? Value decrease? Legality issues? Different technology/ideas to supersede it?

There are multiple situations where bitcoin can disappear, but all there are in relation to a lot of other stuff going on. Let me explain myself: if there is a really great attack on the internet, maybe all transactions could die, as well as a lot of other uses of the internet. If internet falls for a couple of hours, will be the same when it restarts again?

What I mean is: Cryptocurrencies are a part of the internet. They are here to stay. They can’t be just banished, they can’t disappear. Humanity already has created it as an important part of how we see the internet, transactions, money, fees…

So, the only way I can imagine cryptocurrencies can disappear is doing so along with the whole system.
7171  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Face up to reality: The game is over on: January 23, 2018, 02:10:24 PM
The game is just beginning: lots of new people getting interested in BTC, new platforms where you can pay with btc, people earning money for their jobs just in cryptocurrencies… Well, man, the new world is just beginning, if you want to leave the ship, leave! But I'm sure it is just the beginning of a whole new concept of what “money” means…, decentralized fees, decentralized economy…

Whales are just a little part of the whole party. Just another guest. In between, the cryptocurrencies are defining how future is going to look.
7172  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What to do with the people who don't like Bitcoin? on: January 23, 2018, 04:25:02 AM
Hatred is just a face of ignorance. I really prefer to change the topic when someone reacts with hate to something, it is irrational and based on ignorance, again.
Now, if you really have the need to be convincing about BTC, well, maybe the best way is to listen carefully and try to detect on what is based all that hate, maybe it is just a product of the fear they feel about new things.

another way, you can always quote Satoshi Nakamoto: “If you don’t believe me or don’t get it, I don’t have time to try to convince you, sorry”.
7173  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Price stabilization on: January 22, 2018, 10:36:31 PM
Hi Guys,

Is the price going to stabilize ?

In economy there is nothing really “stable”, look at the dollar price from the last year: it fluctuates more than a bit, in direct relation with the victory of Trump, for instance, or TLC negotiations, &co.
Obviously, there are not such as big fluctuations as BTC because the dollar is a coin managed by a government and based on a lot of industry and so.

Now, BTC is not yet “money”, in the strict sense of “money”, so it is used more as an investment than a payment method. For the moment I don’t think its price is going to become stable, at least as long as BTC is a way to speculate and earn money more than a coin that allows people to “buy stuff”.
7174  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Newbies in the crypto world on: January 22, 2018, 06:31:07 PM
For the newbies in Crypto world you will encounter many terms that you might not easily understand here is the thing just for you
All the terms you will find them here and are simply defined

      https://coinweez.com/terminologies-used-blockchain/

That's a great list, i already know almost all of them, but there was a couple new for me.

Is fun to see how bitcoiners use their own language nowadays, and i say it's fun because when we talk with simple mortars, we use all of this terms like if all the people know it, and you can read in their eyes how confused they are with all these new terms for them.

Was weird to see on the list how they list fork, hard fork, but soft fork wasn't there, and that's an important term they should add.
7175  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: will people lose intrest? on: January 22, 2018, 04:41:40 PM
Hello!

If bitcoin died do you think people will lose intrest in other cryptos aswell? which altcoin would you invest in if there were no bitcoin?

If bitcoin die there are two options... BCH would be the first one, it could be the perfect coin to replace bitcoin. And the second option would be ETH, but this one will not make happy all the coiners.

If bitcoin die and ETH takes the control on the markets (with all alts basing their price in ETC) would be like take the market control from china hands and give it to rusian hands. Just like that.

I think coins like Monero or Litecoin have less chance to substitute bitcoin.
7176  Other / Off-topic / Re: What age to teach kids about crypto? on: January 22, 2018, 02:41:01 PM
Hi everyone,

When is a good age to teach kids about crypto?  Any suggestions on how to go about it?  thanks Smiley

They should learn about crypto at the same age when they learn about money.

I think you don't have to explain them all the details because learn about crytocoins is hard because you have to learn about cryptography and for that, you have to know some math bases.

But if you want an age, or a number, i would say 12 years is a good age to start learning about this cryptos world.
7177  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Shall we still keep optimism for Bitcoin? on: January 21, 2018, 07:46:36 PM
I have strong optimism for bitcoin hit unprecedented value before ending of 2018

I agree with you, the only certain thing is the price will not get stuck, it will rise or dump, but never get stuck. And yeah, I believe it will give us some surprises this 2018, just because this year is the world cup, and not sure why or how, but i'm sure that affects the bitcoin price.

But we can spect bigger surprises in other alts this year, not only in bitcoin, so i recommend to follow all altcoins markets, and if you can join with small amounts to all of them, then you will get a nice profit for sure.
7178  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Help me explain this missing Bitcoin tx on: January 19, 2018, 07:53:41 PM
I attempted a Bitcoin transaction on Monday Jan 15 2018. For the first few hours, the transaction was showing on blockexplorer.com and blockchain.info as "unconfirmed."

Then after a few hours,, the transaction is showing as "no such Transaction" or "Transaction doesn't exist" on all of the major block explorer sites.

It does still show up on btc.org. Here: https://btc.com/1ButD31URdVvb9R7oTDy6fXRqMdPWo1MQp

As of just now, the transaction has been "seen by 6 peers." But it still is unconfirmed.

There were adequate transaction fees.

I am worried that I may not have access to my 0.6 coins until this transaction either confirms, or completely deleted. My remaining 0.58 coins are in limbo and unspendable.

So,

What could cause an unconfirmed transaction to be visible on blockchain.info etc. and then disappear within a few hours?

Can I expect tje transaction to eventually complete, or be cancelled and returned to my wallet?

Here are the details. Thanks.

The only problem with your transaction, is the low fees. If you see on this site: https://tradeblock.com/bitcoin/tx/1caf59701a823996b95a8063ec9ba76959a303bd6a0ea05f78a509c91b02f608 your transaction has 15.92920354 sat/B, but the recommended fees now are: 450 satoshis/byte as you can see on https://bitcoinfees.earn.com/

I know you are worried about it, because already you had a long wait and still unconfirmed. So, i have bad news for you, you will have to wait more, because there are close to 160000 unconfirmed transactions right now, and the ones with priority are the ones with high fees.

What you can do now, is to use a transaction accelerator and pray for it. Hope this helps https://viabtc.com/tools/txaccelerator/

Good luck  Wink
7179  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is it chance to jump in? on: January 18, 2018, 07:59:01 PM
the market is down now. Coins are cheap now. Do you think it's time to jump in now, or we can wait for lower price?

I would say yes, now could be a great time to "Ride the wave". You know how trading work. The idea is to buy cheap and sell after get profit.

The hard issue about this, is when to sell your investment and how long time you are ready to wait with the stuck money.

If time is not an issue, then buy and wait it double the investment, for sure will do it before the 2018 gets over, you just have to trust in the coins and be patience.
7180  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How can I find a good altcoin? on: January 18, 2018, 06:35:56 PM
As a newbie, I have little experience in choosing a promising altcoin and there must be some important thing that I don't know now in the process of choosing a altcoin. I want to stand on the shoulders of giants and I hope you can teach me something. Thank you.

A good altcoin... what does make an altcoin a good one? The price? the volume? the weight on the market?

Good altcoin by price:
All of them will bump at some point.

Good altcoin by features:
You can find features like smart contracts, or fast blocks. for that take a look to ETH

Good altcoin for mining:
You can go for burst, that coin gets mined by hard disk. Other options are clams and peer coin who get mined by staking.

So, if you want to get an altcoin to have fun and make test with the coin core, and learn how to manipulate them with command line, i recommend dogecoin, this way each test will be cheap  Wink
