it seems like we are back to good ol' days of fast transactions, i just got a 5 minute confirmation which felt good Cheesy
7162  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who controls bitcoins? on: July 19, 2015, 09:46:18 AM
The Chinese has tried to "shutdown" the internet in their country for years and the people there still bypass some of those restrictions.

Let's say there is some truth in what you are saying... your Bitcoin would still be safe. {It's recorded on the Blockchain}

Not ALL governments will shutdown the internet.... There has not been a single event in the history of mankind, where all nations agreed on something.

The Blockchain can function on many other communications methods and it will soon be into space.  Wink

if the government decides to shut down the internet then i guess there is no more reason to live Cheesy
7163  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Mainstream Adoption on: July 19, 2015, 09:44:04 AM
Hey guys,

It's been dawning on me for some time that there is one thing that businesses must hate.. credit card fees. So with this in mind why is mainstream adoption taking so long! We're not saying invalidate fiat currency and only accept BTC or Alt-coin but businesses don't seem to want to touch it?

What do you guys think the real issue is? Education among consumers and businesses? Volatile BTC price?

Tully

i say it is both at the same time.
there has been quick a lot of media coverage about bitcoin in the past year but it seems like it is not enough and many people are still claiming that they have never even heard of bitcoin.

on the other hand the volatile bitcoin price makes it difficult for any business to trade with bitcoin while all their other trades are done in fiat.
7164  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Research survey on: July 19, 2015, 09:38:37 AM
Hey, I completed the survey and it opened up my opinion about privacy a little more than it used to be. I use several methods to increase my

financial anonymity BUT I guess for most expert hackers out there would poke holes in it.

If your sole goal to use Bitcoin is 100% anonymity, you are in the wrong place... nothing in my opinion is 100% anonymous.  Huh Huh

in the days before BTC you had to use services like Paypal or Credit Cards. not very anonymous. not cheap. and not cool  Cool

with bitcoin you have an enormous improvement in all these fields!

there is an improvement , but nobody seems to care enough to use it. there isn't enough places that have bitcoin payment alongside paypal or credit card.
7165  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is there a risk of a valuable coin being worth 0 even if it's a POS+POW/POW? on: July 18, 2015, 05:25:55 AM
all the altcoins that are created so far has the risk of going down to 0 satoshi worth
but this process takes time, it is not like you wake up one morning and a coin's price goes from 0.01BTC to 0
7166  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [TUTORIAL] How to Earn 1 Bitcoin in a Week on: July 18, 2015, 04:59:30 AM
So, your trading theory is that every altcoin lower than 100 sats rises automatically within days?  Roll Eyes

Usually it does, but only if there is some interest in that coin, i mean dont buy up all junk coins.

I edited the OP and put there to buy only coins with daily volume >0.1 btc

can you please name show us your buy /sell history of at least 10 altcoins that you have bought in the past month lower than 100-200 satoshi and went up in price at least up to 500 satoshi?

p.s. it is all in all a good topic and i agree with it entirely except the logic about buying coins that are low and be sure that they are going up.
7167  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Did you earn some bitcoin today? on: July 18, 2015, 04:42:47 AM
Made only about 0.1-0.2BTC today, it was a relative slow day on markets, but i think the volatility will come in the weekend.

I hope i make tomorrow about 2-3 bitcoin Smiley

i agree. altcoin trading is a very good market for earning a lot more bitcoin that you can earn from any other method. and especially is more profitable than faucets

p.s. i see a lot of your posts here claiming that you are earning 1-3BTC a week, then why exactly are you in a signature campaign to earn a "maximum" of 0.02BTC a week for 140 posts?!
7168  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can i block translactions under 0.0001 fee? on: July 18, 2015, 04:32:44 AM
im having lots of troubles, everyone who sends me under 0.0001 gets my wallet litteraly blocked, everytime i send btc it wont confirm for 48 hours and later that guy that sended me the btc (with fee that was under 0.0001) gets his money back

please help, how can i block those translactions on blockchain.info!?

You haven't provided a lot of information (a txid would be helpful), but I'm pretty sure you won't have any problems at all if you do not try to send the unconfirmed 0.0001 BTC. For example, if you have 1.0001 BTC (and the 0.0001 is unconfirmed), then send 0.99 BTC. That way there will be enough to send without having to include the unconfirmed 0.0001 BTC.

If you want more precise control, then you can also use the "Custom Send" feature.

is it possible to choose which input you send? or will it choose randomly from confirmed inputs?
for example if i have 3 input of 1BTC two confirmed and 1 unconfirmed ; when i want to send 2BTC the will wallet choose the two confirmed ones automatically?

p.s. bc.i custom send only lets you choose the addresses you send from.
7169  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What was your last purchase with bitcoin? on: July 18, 2015, 04:16:56 AM
We run an online market place for Android TV Boxes. We have recently began to accept bitcoin, however the purchases through this method have been minimal.

Our wonder is, if bitcoin is truly being used as a currency or not. If so, what did you last purchase with your bitcoin?

i don't know if you can consider my buying as purchases with bitcoin but i mostly purchase altcoins as an alternative investment and just to make more bitcoin through trading .

i am also looking for a trusted place which i can buy some steam related stuff with discount Smiley like game, in-game item, steam wallet fund,...
7170  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin trending in greece! on: July 18, 2015, 04:01:11 AM
I havent been able to see much of Greece on the current days, how the exposure on bitcoin going any new articles maybe a few new bitcoin atms for start up ideas coming to surface?

surely the Hype that greece created in bitcoin world was much greater than the actual effect it had . i bet there is just a handful of people in greece who invested in bitcoin and continue doing so. but the majority doesn't even care!
7171  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Citicoin on: July 18, 2015, 03:58:29 AM
She basically explains it nicely Smiley
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KdIOrMYWBIY

  • What do you think with all the mass media can they be better than bitcoin?
  • Would you invest in citicoin?

this is simply an altcoin and worst of all it is a centralized one.
so there is NO way i would even consider investing in something like that. i think the risks of investing in it is way higher than investing in a random alt(scam)coin because there is a big financial team behind it that can mess with the price way worse than that alt(scam)coin!
7172  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are we stress testing again? on: July 18, 2015, 03:52:08 AM
Unconfirmed transactions still at over 11,000 so this spam fest is continuing then. I really think it's time for miners to reject all transactions carrying no fee. This rubbish will stop then.
It's actually not stress test anymore. Just some people trying to spend the dust that this test has created. Smiley

that was actually such a cheeky play. they used a lot of known addresses (whose private keys were known) like the brainwallet ones and also released hundreds of other private keys.
the people's greed is now continuing the stress test / spam attack
7173  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin fixes a Greek problem – but not the Greek debt problem on: July 18, 2015, 03:48:26 AM
well it was very well expected.
because first of all bitcoin is not yet grown to the level that can save anybody and make a huge change, besides the price is so volatile that it can not be reliable

on the other hand people of the greece has accepted bitcoin (to some extent) not the country and the government, so it can only help the few who bought bitcoin.
7174  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Cloudmining VS Investments(trading) on: July 18, 2015, 03:29:48 AM
today i got very confused and irritaded with some questions...like what will be better or we should say which is more risky..i check today some of the cloudmining sites and bought some hashes in each actually in three site ..cex.io , scrypt.cc and bit-x..
but i am not confused because when i checked the mining calculaters then the  true faces are shown to me..
at First the shock i got is from the bit-x site..
Code:
when i opened the calculator..so it was showing 100ghash as default..i changed it with 35ghash and so i hit the calculate buttion but then i found that i will earn..about 13000-15000satoshi every day but then i thought about the mantainence fees and got that it was higher than my daily earning....so that clearly means it only accept the higher investments
after that i thought that maybe if i can avoid the mantainence fee then maybe i can make profit..
so then i visited scrypt.cc (its a less scured and less trustul with deposits as because it is usually getting hacked..)
Code:
i deposited 0.052btc and bought some khash...i got about 13020khash .so i went to calculator..and typed and increased the khash amount until i reached 1btc then i saw that its paying 0.007btc if i buy 1btc worth of khash...that means 0.7% everyday
and so on i tryed the other site too...
now after all lot of things like this i am thinking why we invest in cloudmining when we can trade and can make more than 1% daily and that is much safer from these things at least we will have control on owr coins

sadly this is true. because of the high difficulty plus the maintenance fee that you have to pay in the end there is not much profit left for you to make it a reliable investment.

but investing in a cloudmining service has one benefit, and that is if the service is legit it gives you a sure passive income while you can lose money in trading.
7175  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bought an Account but seller wants me to send him additional 0.015 - See details on: July 17, 2015, 03:48:56 PM
you should have done the trade on bitcointalk to have the record for the future for easy access
i guess this was the thread right? https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1126305.msg11900166#msg11900166

but i guess as long as two bitcoin addresses are known:
1. the address of seller which he asked for the fund
2. your address that you have sent from.

you can easily prove that you have sent him the asked amount with the tx id and a signed message
7176  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: New to Bitcoin and want to play with some... on: July 17, 2015, 03:34:00 PM
I see a lot of people looking for faucets and other ad-click schemes for earning tiny amounts of BTC. I know there are a lot of gaming sites out there with free-rolls and such. What are the reasons that people prefer faucets and surveys over playing games? Seems like a more fun way to get one's first bitcoins. BTC

it is because the faucets and all those ad-cliks are a sure thing.
i mean when you claim 500 satoshi from a faucet you have it in your hands , but when you claim one of those free-rolls on a gambling site, you have to jump through hoops to be able to cash it out.
it can be way less than the minimum withdrawal, you have to make a lot of rolls before being able to cash out.
and also most importantly you have to win first before being able to cash out your "winnings" and not lose that initial amount too.
7177  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Fully trusted moderator on: July 17, 2015, 03:16:09 PM
from what i have read, you are planning to run a bitcoin lottery game. this kinds of games belong to the gambling section of the forum and you need to put a max amount on a trusted Escrow so that people would can trust you and pay at your game.
if by mod you mean somebody that handles the game, advertising, winners, payment you need to make a post on the services section to "hire" somebody to do this for you,
7178  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Do Newbies (or Anyone) Enjoy Paid Bitcoin Tasks? on: July 17, 2015, 01:28:15 PM
the famous PTC sites that are paying in bitcoin, pay such an small amount that it makes faucets more valuable.
in comparison a faucet can pay 500-1000 satoshi and even if the PTC pays the same, it is not worth the time that you have to wait for the ad to load and then enter a capcha code too!

7179  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Beware of CoinBase on: July 17, 2015, 01:11:54 PM
 Do you trust CoinBase.com ?

well that is an easy big NO
i never have and never will trust an online wallet, especially a wallet that i don't have control over my bitcoin which is no access to my private keys.
additionally they have a lot of ridiculous rules which allows them to easily disable and block your funds.
this is not the way bitcoin is meant to be used.
