You correctly unscrambled two of the terms: public key and taproot.
Even though "CryptoOne" does fit, it's not the term I was looking for. What is it anyways, a crypto blog?
"Admit cruel" is wrong.

You can't guess again until someone else posts their predictions!
7182  Other / Meta / Re: Bitcointalk Youtube channel - what would you like to see? on: October 23, 2021, 10:36:37 AM
Where would the ad revenue from Bitcointalk Youtube Channel go?
I am not familiar with how YouTube works for content creators, but doesn't a channel need a certain number of subscribers, views, and comments before it can earn commissions from YouTube or from the ads? I seriously doubt anyone creating and uploading their videos earns serious revenue unless certain conditions are met. "Influencer-like" conditions.
7183  Other / Meta / Re: I would like to delete my account I cant even log in even when I put forgot my o on: October 23, 2021, 10:30:25 AM
This was not a legitimate request for help from a clueless user. The OP is not the person named in the post.

It's not the OP who's info was exposed but an innocent and unaware victim. The named person is likely not even a member of BCT.
Who knows if anything that is written in the OP is even true!? It could just be someone wasting everyone's time by coming up with that name. Since I was curious, I checked the email on the have i been pwned website and it did find that the address has been leaked in 7 different data breaches. The first one dates back to 2015. Who knows what the goal of OP is...

I couldn't help but laughing when I saw the name and logo of the coin. Grin
Good luck with your project!

For your next venture, you could create the tit token.
A big shoutout to Only Fools and Horses and Del Boy for the name TIT.

7185  Other / Meta / Re: Is bumping a thread every 24h allowed? on: October 23, 2021, 10:08:45 AM
I opened a similar thread a few months ago to ask a question regarding the bumping rules. I thought the rules had changed because I noticed that my bumps were getting deleted although they weren't breaking any forum rules. I didn't bump my threads more than once in a 24-hour period and I always deleted old bumps. It turns out that admins sometimes delete bumps if additional posts by you or other users were made after the bump. That's because the bump has served its purpose and is no longer needed because the new posts bump the thread anyways.

7187  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Pmalek’s Complete the Word Game and Get Merits on: October 23, 2021, 09:45:32 AM
I have concern about number 4 why does have a space but the clue is one word.
You are right, that was my mistake. The correct clue is one word made up of nine letters. I edited the second post now to remove the space. Good eyes!
Care to venture a guess on some of the terms or all of them?
7188  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How bitcointalk.org earns money on: October 23, 2021, 07:12:24 AM
Can we extract from this that Theymos is close to satoshi since he took over charge from satoshi. He is previously in contact with satoshi for sure.
You have to understand that the Bitcoin/Bitcointalk community was different in those days. Bitcoin still didn't find it's real use case and people were in it for the technology and the advantages a decentralized currency gave them. Theymos gradually progressed up the forum ranks to where he is now. He knew how to run the forum, had an interest in bitcoin, and did the things other users lost the interest for (as he stated in one of his quoted posts).
7189  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Buying stuff with Dogecoin or Bitcoin on: October 23, 2021, 07:00:32 AM
I agree with mk4 here.
You already have crypto (both bitcoin and dogecoin), and if the seller accepts payments in cryptocurrencies, all you need is an address to pay the invoice. An address or a QR code you need to scan. Your task is to send the coins to the provided address. What happens with them after that is none of your concern. Instead of contacting BitPay support, can you get in touch with the merchant and ask him to help you make the transaction or pay with fiat if he no longer accepts cryptocurrencies?

7191  Other / Beginners & Help / Pmalek’s Complete the Word Game and Get Merits on: October 23, 2021, 06:50:48 AM
A few months ago, I created the Riddles and Brain-Teasers for Bitcointalk Members (Newbies – Members) thread. Then I saw soliton's Bitcoin Crosswords. So that made me think of a similar game that involves Bitcoin and crypto-related terms.

•   For each round, I will post a few incomplete words, and you have to guess which ones they are.
•   The terms will always be something you would expect to hear if you are familiar with Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies.

Local Rules

1.   Accounts created after the date this thread was posted ARE NOT ALLOWED TO PARTICIPATE.
2.   This thread is intended for users of all ranks, but NEWBIES, JR. MEMBERS, AND MEMBERS will have one day advantage to guess the terms. What does that mean? When a new round starts, only newbies, jr. members, and members can guess the words. The next day, after I give the green light, all other ranks can participate.
3.   No cheating, editing, or deleting posts. Edited replies won’t be counted.
4.   You can guess how many times you want, but you aren’t allowed to post again unless someone else writes a post.
5.   You can only guess EACH WORD ONCE PER POST. You can’t provide 2 or more answers for the same word, but you are allowed to guess all of the terms.
6.   If no one can guess the correct word/words, I will add a few more letters.
7.   EACH correctly guessed term will be awarded 1 MERIT for the user who was the fastest.
8.   Every round will have 5-10 random words.
7192  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Is it safe to use Binance on VPN on: October 23, 2021, 06:48:10 AM
I use VPNs for other purposes and I have mistakenly logged in to Binance once while I was connected to my VPN. There wasn't a problem since I am not located in a country where Binance is not allowed to operate and the VPN also didn't provide me with an IP from a restricted jurisdiction. Still, I wouldn't suggest you do that.

If you have already used your account from your real IP in the past, it makes little sense to switch to a VPN now.
If you want to resume trading on that exchange or you are registering a new account, you have to undergo KYC. They will know who you are and where you are from, so it again make no sense to hide your real location.
7193  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: PoW vs PoS on: October 23, 2021, 06:36:33 AM
But how does POS actually validate a transaction? Bitcoin miners have to solve the puzzle, but POS miners just have lots of the coin??
The more coins you have staked, the greater your chances to mine the next block. Your mining power or potential to validate blocks is determined on how much of the native token you already own and have put up for staking.

You can find plenty of articles on the subject if you google "how are transactions confirmed in POS coins" or some combination like that.
7194  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: October 22, 2021, 08:18:16 PM
Ramsey and McKennie are reported will be released by Juventus in the January transfer market. Ramsey has rarely played, especially since he was very often get injured.
There were some rumors that Newcastle was interested in both Ramsey and Rabiot, but I am not sure how reliable those are. The biggest problems with both players are their salaries. Both earn plenty of money, which makes them unattractive for many teams. However, teams from the English Premier League can easily afford them. Ramsey doesn't play a big role in Juve's plans and it wouldn't be bad if he got off-loaded abroad. Rabiot is part of the team plans and will cost more. I doubt either of the two will leave unless Juventus finds suitable replacements.

What is surprising is that the injury problems that often occur in Dybala are predicted to make Juventus consider selling him. however, I'm not sure about the rumors about Dybala, because so far Dybala is an important player for Juventus. What do you think if Juventus selling dybala?
I don't think he will be sold because his contract expires at the end of the season. Nedved has recently hinted that the club and player have come to an agreement on almost all details regarding the contract extension and there are only a few things that are missing. They would be stupid to let a player like Dybala go for free and I am not sure he wants to.
7195  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Ledger Nano X Battery Pandemic on: October 22, 2021, 09:30:20 AM
I already explained physical issues with nano x and potential solution for that in the first post of this topic...
Yes, I know that.

Now let's check out recent reports from ledger reddit after last update:

ledger firmware update, recovery phrase not working
https://www.reddit.com/r/ledgerwallet/comments/qd4jph/ledger_firmware_update_recovery_phrase_not_working/
Judging by one comment on Reddit, it's the Recovery Check app that is causing the issues. They need to update the app as well to incorporate the changes made in the firmware. The same user said that issues with the Recovery Check app happened in the past as well. It looks like Ledger is pushing their updates without properly checking everything. And other users posted that their firmware upgrade worked just fine.

Quote
Most likely everything is fine and the Recovery Check app wasn't updated to properly work with this new firmware version. This same situation actually happened before with the prior firmware update when it was first released.

Especially if you've verified your phrase in the past and it worked fine then, you shouldn't be freaking out just yet.

7196  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Need help with my electrum wallet on: October 22, 2021, 09:14:43 AM
So I am new to the electrum community and recently opened a wallet and I believe I transferred my Bitcoin from coinbase wallet to electrum wallet
You believe you did Huh There either was a transaction or there wasn't. Judging by the next sentences in your post, there was.

When I open the electrum app I have my default wallet and another wallet which contains my Bitcoin. It says I have 1.1912 mbtc.
Do both wallets contain a total of 1.1912 mBTC or is the entire balance in the other wallet?

I believe it's about 80 bucks.
It's around $75 due to the drop in value that happened yesterday.

So ya I'd like to add it to the remainder of my crypto which I have in Coinbase. I have quite a bit there so it made sense.
Please don't transfer any more bitcoin to your Electrum wallet until it's clear that you didn't create a watch-only wallet, and that you can move the coins that are already there.
7197  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Help with my Electrum wallet on: October 22, 2021, 08:59:08 AM
You might have just saved your transaction instead of broadcasting it. If you don't feel comfortable sharing your BTC addresses with us, then check them yourself on a block explorer such as https://blockchair.com/.

What is the address you sent the coins from? Enter it on a block explorer and check its history.
What is the address you sent the coins to? Enter that as well on a block explorer and see what it says.

The address you shared that begins with 3Nymsmo has not sent or received anything, as stated previously.
7198  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Ledger nano X discount on: October 22, 2021, 08:47:58 AM
I would personally not purchase a Nano X because of everything that has been happening recently. I have the Nano S and think it's a nifty little gadget and I would pick that over the Nano X if I had to use a Ledger product again. I am personally looking to buy a Trezor Model T on discount to further divide my portfolio.

How does it look in terms of discounts for the Trezor T and do they have a history or giving users discount codes if they ask for them?
7199  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Ledger Nano X Battery Pandemic on: October 22, 2021, 08:41:24 AM
<Snip>
I am not sure that a software upgrade can fix the problems they have with the Nano X battery. Several posts and videos suggested that the battery connectors were causing the charging issues. They need to be lifted up manually. But let's wait and see. Time will tell.

There is one thing I don't like about this video that explains the faulty connectors though.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yfZJIXBp1Ic

He didn't turn on the device before applying his fix, so that we can actually see that his method fixed the issues and that there was an issue in the first place. I have no reason to doubt the video creator. I am just saying it could have been done better.
7200  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: connect nano s to avax wallet on: October 22, 2021, 08:21:51 AM
This is not exclusively related to the error message you are getting, but you might want to try it out.

This reddit post explains that there are two ways to access the Avalanche wallet:

Please check if those sites are genuine yourself. I am only posting what I found and can't guarantee those are the correct sites.
Several users have reported that they fixed access errors by using the beta site. However, the post is from 7-8 months ago and might be outdated by now.
