Because any forward thinking government wouldn't want to be left behind. And most importantly, billions of taxes can be collected from the businesses that will generate from the bitcoin economy.

You can practically buy anything with bitcoins, and that includes banned substances. Anonymity in using bitcoins is appealing to those involve in the drug trade. But it works both ways, law enforcers can also use this to their advantage. I'm sure the authorities are making sure they are a step ahead of the game.

You can secure your gold in your own vault or on a safety deposit box. There are risks for both. In the event of civil unrest, gold would be the more tradeable currency than bitcoins. In peace time, especially in countries with no stability issues, securing both would not be a problem.

Banks are regulated by monetary boards in each country. Trust is the main issue with banks. Governments must first recognize the legitimacy of bitcoins thru their central banks before allowing them to include cryptocurrency in their services.

That's a brilliant idea. A TV commercial in Super Bowl would give bitcoin the exposure it needs in mainstream media. Let Michael Bay or the Wachowski Brothers direct it, with an A-List Hollywood actors in it. That ad would be as iconic as the Mac commercial in 1984.

I couldn't even get my adult friends and relatives to get interested in bitcoin. I don't think I'd do better with kids. Besides, I want to let them enjoy their childhood years. By the time they're old enough to understand, bitcoin has already gone mainstream. There'll be little or no explanation needed.

Good! It's their loss. Although this is mere speculations, I doubt if the Chinese leadership would allow their country to be left behind. Any forward thinking country would want to be part of this game changer.

This is a good sign. If educators trust cryptocurrecy, then there's no reason for the other sectors not to accept bitcoins as payment. Parents would get curious about bitcoins, other schools would follow, media outlets would broadcast this new milestone.

...despite 2017 being a great year for bitcoin, it still has a long way to go before it becomes mainstream and you wouldn't want to be left behind while some of your friends become millionaires.

Good or bad, it's still publicity. Fans of her would be curious, who mostly are in their thirties, the target market. Bjork beat them to the punch. She now will be remembered as the first artist to recognize and acknowledge cryptocurrency.

If you would call people who are always on the lookout for new investments as smart. Then all those currently in bitcoins are smart. Some friends of mine are not techies but they understood the potential. I guess common sense is what these people have and tons of street smarts. Still smart. LOL

Government regulation is must for any currency. Not only it will allay the fears of prospective investors but also help the product promote itself.

By all means, please do invest in bitcoins. 2017 may be too late according to some, but bitcoin will be with us forever. Kinda like paper money or credit card. Eventually, you'd be using bitcoins in your everyday transactions. So, might as well invest now, than wait for it to become mainstream. You would still be a step ahead over a billion of people.

It is never too late to invest. Though right now, where bitcoin is at an all-time high, buy low sell high, would not be a got enticement to prospective investors. But stiil, one could still make a profit. Just don't expect to be a millionaire like the ones who had the vision five years ago.

I heard about it only in 2014. Those who introduced bitcoin to me during that time have already earned thousands of US$. That's a lot of money here in the Philippines, but I have no regrets since I'm too busy with a lot of things that time. Not investing in bitcoins this year would be a big mistake for a lot of people because 2017 is the best year for this new currency, so far.
