For what it is worth, just to kind of throw a thought out there -

ASICs generate crypto coins.  Crypto coins have value.  If I were an ASIC developer, I would not be interested in having random people test them.  I could simply test run the rigs in a lab, or basement or wherever, and collect coins.

I suppose maybe along the lines of why Ben Bernanke doesn't have beta testers for his US dollar printing press  Cheesy

There are sites out there that allow you to earn bitcoins for free - I think that may be more productive than the 1 ASIC miner.

Hope that this may help  Cool

I predict that in the next 8 weeks or so, you will see BTC's difficulty explode, and a lot of people will be crying over their $10,000 ASIC preorder.  "Difficulty" doesn't make sense to the buyers, all they see is money, so spending thousands on something that is unlikely to produce even a break-even return on investment makes sense to them.  Those who got in on the Avalon batch #1 ASICs and those who received their BFL orders recently are the winners.  The ones selling ASICs are the huge winners.  The rest will be left holding bags of ASICs.

Just my humble opinion  Cheesy

We are proud customers of CampBX.

Great site, simple interface, and usually cheaper prices than MtGox.  Check it out for yourself.

Mining alt scrypt coins is still profitable.  I would avoid mining sha-256 coins, ASICs eat them alive and spike the difficulty.

So what you would do, is mine scrypt coins and immediately sell them for BTC (in most cases)

Here are a few sites to get you started.

Trade them for btc here:

Have fun, get ahold of some good ATI Radeon GPUs (don't bother with Nvidia), and get ready to rack up some BTC  Cheesy

I certainly hope that all goes well for you.

I would definitely recommend using an escrow service (John K) if possible for those types of transactions.  If they refuse to use escrow, I would avoid them.

You can earn bitcoins on our website, http://www.boozehoundpoker.com/

Why are you posting this in the newbie thread?
This is our very first post, so we have to follow the rules just like everyone else and start here.  Cheesy

How many bitcoins can I earn?
It depends on how much time you have, and which tasks you complete.  We have some members who have earned well over 20BTC.

But your website looks like a poker-related site?
It is, actually.  We promote play-for-free poker with BTC prizepools and do our best to sponsor a nightly freeroll for those interested in playing poker.  Playing poker isn't a requirement though, we have plenty of members who simply earn and receive bitcoins.

Feel free to check it out.  As time (and forum permissions) allow, we hope to post more information and do our best to benefit the community.
