721  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: cgminer 3.7.2 does not detect GPUs on: February 22, 2014, 01:09:20 AM
If memory serves me right, error -1 is driver error. Try installing 13.12: http://support.amd.com/en-us/download/desktop?os=Linux%20x86_64 (if you're using 64bit)
722  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][AUTO-SWITCH] Profit-switch auto-exchange pool: CleverMining.com on: February 22, 2014, 12:12:43 AM
I have to admit that despite the high reject rate I'm getting (15%) my 'Total Expected" for 12hours is pretty good. I went back to MC to see if h2o really did solve his issue but even so, I'll definitely come check this pool once the EU server is released if the 'Total Expected' will actually be what it says it is.
723  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: cgminer.exe: --scrypt: unrecognized option HELP! Please on: February 21, 2014, 10:27:14 PM
Use cgminer 3.7.2 or older...
724  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][AUTO-SWITCH] Profit-switch auto-exchange pool: CleverMining.com on: February 21, 2014, 09:31:04 PM
Anyone using R9 290? What setting do you use to get low reject rate? Cause I've been trying this pool all day and my reject rate is floating around 15%~
725  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What are you thoughts on this rig? (Please delete the other post) on: February 21, 2014, 04:01:50 PM
That's a good way to start.
726  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][AUTO-SWITCH] Profit-switch auto-exchange pool: CleverMining.com on: February 21, 2014, 10:02:35 AM
Anyone else experiencing high reject rate?
727  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Can't get 3rd R9 290 working on: February 21, 2014, 09:59:05 AM
Not sure about how to disable Crossfire, but! I do remember I needed to disable ULPS (Ultra-Low Power State), what it basically does is disable cards that are not in use, so by disabling ULPS you make sure that all cards work at all times.

To disable ULPS:
1. Go to the registry ("regedit" in windows search - make sure you open it as admin).
2. Make sure "Computer" is highlighted and than go to Edit -> Find -> EnableULPS
3. Double click on EnableULPS on the right side and change its value to 0 (Hexadecimal base).

Restart PC and check to see that the registry was saved (again, make sure you access regedit as administrator).

Thanks a lot Starscream, I have installed sgminer 4.1.0 and now have a stable 880 kh/s with the following settings:

"gpu-threads" : "1",
"xintensity" : "1100",
"thread-concurrency" : "25601",
"worksize" : "512",
"lookup-gap" : "2",

"gpu-powertune" : "20",
"gpu-memclock" : "1250",
"gpu-engine" : "1000",
"gpu-fan" : "80"
}

Once again thanks, and regards. Smiley
Read some about how to configure properly here: http://www.overclock.net/t/1461916/tutorial-ultimate-guide-to-tweaking-amd-cgminer-3-7-2-kalroth-edition-sgminer-instructions-included-aswell-get-the-most-hash-out-of-your-gpu

1100 xintensity is over the top value. I'm using 111 right now and so far I really am happy with that.
729  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Sapphire Radeon R9 290 - Thread Concurrency! Cant get it up. Tried everything. on: February 20, 2014, 04:59:46 PM
my 290 cant increase intensity due to hardware errors
and cant increase tc due to some thing extrange i dont know :S

i have 32 bits ... can be this the problem?Huh?

i can  only get 520 kh
Add to beginning of your batch file:
setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1

Better if you start your own thread next time so people can easily see what you did and what was offered for you to do.

I RECEIVED ONLY ONE PAYOUT EVERYDAY FOR NOW LIKE 18 DAYS BUT Y I CAN NO GET TOO PAYOUTZ

MY HASH SHOWS 2.2Mhz BUT I ONLY HAVE 2.012 MASHSES

FIX THE FUCKIN POOL US CAMMER

731  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Sapphire r9 290 tri-x: low hashrate/scrypt changes do not reflect hashrate on: February 20, 2014, 03:29:54 PM
Try SGminer 4.0 or above.

When I tried cgminer I had the same issue, hashrate would wobble around 550KH/s.

SGminer uses the same parameters with the exception of --scrypt (and if you download sgminer 4.1 you can use xintensity for better control)
732  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Can't find any speed info on Sapphire AMD Radeon R9 290 TRI-X OC, 4GB GDDR5 on: February 20, 2014, 03:22:14 PM
My both R9 290 TRI-X OC arrived today.

Hynix memory
Stock clocks
2 x 830 khs
645watts (meter)

ratio:
2.57  Grin  Grin  Grin

I had reference R9 290's before:
2 x 830 khs
700watts (meter)

I have reference cards running at 860KH/s (800 WU - can max at 920KH/s) pulling 300w each...
You should really work on tuning your cards more.

Also, which type of Hynix ?
733  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Setting correct GPU-threads causes error in vertminer on: February 20, 2014, 03:17:09 PM
I tried 8193 on a whim, and same thing.  I really appreciate all of your help, but I think you're perhaps barking up the wrong tree.  My thoughts are that this may be an adaptive n-scrypt specific issue, or perhaps a bug in vertminer.
My answer was directly towards the error -5 that you're getting, which in cgminer (vertminer is obviously a child of cgminer) is mostly due to misconfiguration of the TC value.

Try lowering intensity alongside your TC value see what happens.

Nevermind, just read your latest post, I see you did that.
734  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Setting correct GPU-threads causes error in vertminer on: February 20, 2014, 11:06:45 AM
6 gb... Is that not enough?

Edit: Just checked. When it's up and running it's used 0.7gb, with the rest free... So, presumably it's not a RAM shortage?

First thing first, add the following to the start of your batch file:
setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1

Now, you need to understand that the number of threads you should be using is dictated by your card (not all cards can run well with 1 thread same as not all cards can run well with 2 threads) so find out which is best for your card (by finding out I mean try it out for yourself).
Next, the number of TC (thread-concurrency) in your settings is capped by how many threads you're using and by how much RAM you got in your system (to determine how much TC you need to set: Shaders*n+1 (this formula will give you, generally speaking, the best resaults), n can and will be any number you choose but is subject to the limits of your cards/settings, although YMMV).

So, for your OP, if with 1 thread you see low KH/s than you should change your TC.

If with 2 threads you still get error -5 (after adding the setx commands) than you should lower your TC. A common TC value that works well with -g 2 is 8193.

Also note that with 2 threads and lower TC you might also need to lower your intensity, although with your card I'm not sure of it, but keep that in mind.
735  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Can't get 3rd R9 290 working on: February 20, 2014, 10:07:51 AM
Gigabyte MA790FX-UD5P.

Anyway, again, which version of windows do you have?

BTW, when you turn on the PC with 3 cards in it, do the fan(s) spin on the 3rd card? (the one Windows doesn't detect)
736  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Can Antminer 180 Gh/s mine litecoin? on: February 19, 2014, 07:35:00 PM
Nothing is impossible. Though the degree of difficulty is high, it is not impossible. Graphics cards are used as open hardware for any encryption. We need to convert SHA256 to Scrypt and fed it to ASIC. I know this sound Friction but ....... A GPU and several ASICs plug in USB  and a win win condition. Application comes after Concept. I just expressed my Concept.

Thanks.

Sounds totally like friction. Lol.

No offense kid, but you ought to do your homework before you come out with statements like yours.
And try not to necro a 1 month old thread next time.
737  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: BOUGHT A RIG NOT WORKING AT ALL PLEASE HELP on: February 19, 2014, 05:02:23 PM
First of all use CGminer 3.7.2 or below, or use SGminer 4.0 and above.
Second, your config will only work for 1 card...

Add commas and values for each card for the following variables:
Example: "intensity" : "20,20,20,20",

"intensity" : "20",
"worksize" : "256",
"lookup-gap" : "2",
"thread-concurrency" : "33810",

"gpu-engine" : "896",
"gpu-fan" : "40-100",
"gpu-memclock" : "1450",
"gpu-memdiff" : "0",
"gpu-powertune" : "50",
"gpu-dyninternal" : "7",
"gpu-threads" : "1",

As far as your fifth card goes, it could be a faulty riser or you need to short your pcie as shown here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=36061.0
Might be other stuff but I can't think of any right now.
738  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Power Supply question for 5 x r9 290 on: February 19, 2014, 03:10:20 PM
It really depends on how you configure your cards. I could configure my cards (R9 290) to use as low as 250w and still maintain a decent KH/s (750+) though right now I'm at 300w per card.

Best thing I can tell you to do is to get something like this: http://www.thegreenhead.com/imgs/kill-a-watt-ez-1.jpg - a device that measures power consumption from wall, than you would easily know how much wattage each single card of yours consumes and will be able to calculate how much power you'll need if you want to add x amount of cards in the future.

I can't stress enough how big of an impact configuration is on the wattage consumption. I've seen people pull as high as 400w from the wall with a single R9 290 (making it a total of 2000w for 5 in your case) or as low as 250w (a total of 1250w in your case again).
739  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Can't get 3rd R9 290 working on: February 19, 2014, 09:44:36 AM
i have mixed gpus in one of my rigs, a 290x, 270 & 2 8750's, only a couple cards would work with 4gb system ram, after adding another 8 they all started, i could be wrong, but it couldn't hurt to add another 4gb if you have an extra slot & a stick of ram... or even spending $40 on a stick, better than your $$$ sitting dead.
Not needed. I'm running a 3x R9 290 setup with only 4GB.

@OP - You never mentioned it (and no1 asked either), but which version of Windows 7 are you using? If you're using 32bits than it all makes sense (it's cant detect more than 4 cores) and you'll need to install Windows 7 64bit for your 3rd card to be detected.

But in case you have 64bit, let's go back to the basics: When you plugged the cards one by one they all worked solo, yes?
You tested every PCI-e slot (those you will want to use) with a single card in the system?
You shorted the pins correctly? (A1-B12)
Did you set up the 2nd PSU correctly? (make sure you don't mix the 2 PSUs).

Right now I can't think of anything else really, other than to get a x16 to x16 riser and try that out.

When I set my rig it was pretty straight forward. I connected 1 card (to the x16), installed drivers+sdk, tested, saw it worked, went on connecting the 2nd card (to the x1 with powered riser), saw it worked, moved to the 3rd card (also to x1 with powered riser) saw it worked and that's about it.
740  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: middlecoin mining on: February 18, 2014, 11:20:04 AM
i use middlecoin.com with ati radeon xpress 200m and bfgminer. The speeds are usually between 130 Mh/s to 19 Gh/s. How long it takes to make 1 dollar if i mine 5-6 hours a day? So far here 3-4 days and I have not been paid.

bfgminer says: "no devices found press 'm' and '+' to add" but it works fine. Why it says that?

Thank you.

With those speeds you'll make anywhere between 1000$ to 10000$ a day!  Cheesy

J/K.
You're trying to mine SHA-256 coins and connecting to Middlecoin which is a Scrypt based pool. In other words, you're grinding water right now.

Anyway, I wouldn't recommend you mine using a laptop and with that particular card being so old. If you insist, than you need to download cgminer 3.7.2 (or older) or sgminer 4.0 (and above), adjust the settings and see how it goes.
But honestly, you'll be wasting time and ruining the laptop.
