721  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Dutyfree.io - Buy cheap cigarettes with Bitcoin on: March 19, 2015, 12:46:37 PM
Last time i received two separate packages that arrived together, one with 20 packs and one with 10. I commented that yesterday without thinking straight but it is very likely the other carton will show up in a day or two. I will wait and comment when it arrives or doesnt, sorry for the previous comment, it was a bit rude.

This is a pretty legit service so I don't think you've got anything to worry about. Sure only will get back to you soon.

Website down? Cant seem to get a connection. Keep getting database error

Website seems fine to me, maybe he's got it sorted out now.

723  Other / Politics & Society / Re: China in military "warning" to Myanmar after bomb kills four farmers on: March 18, 2015, 03:30:02 PM

China is in military mode passive. But the military power of China must be huge.

China has the largest army in the world but their military capability is nowhere near the US. I read somewhere that China's military expenditure is projected to overtake the US within 20 years.

It's called "China threat theory".

Yes, China does have largest army in the world and the capability is close to the U.S, but China military haven't been involved any wars for decades, and the U.S owns the most advanced weapons which China can't catch up with in decades years. While the U.S military are fighting wars everywhere and everyday.

So, If China goes to war with American, who will win? the answer is obvious.

Yeah sure, the US would 'win' militarily but China could still cause a lot of damage, especially when it comes to economic warfare.

Lets all hope that it doesn't get to that point in the future, the last thing we need is another arms race between two superpowers.

To quote the late great George Carlin:

"To me, war is a lot of prick-waving! OK? Simple thing. That's all it is. War is a whole lot of men standing out on a field waving their pricks at one another. Men are insecure about the size of their dicks, and so they have to kill one another over the idea. That's what all that asshole jock bullshit is all about. That's what all that adolescent, macho, male posturing and strutting in bars and locker rooms is all about. It's called "dick fear!" Men are terrified that their pricks are inadequate and so they have to compete with one another, to feel better about themselves, and since war is the ultimate competition, basically, men are killing each other in order to improve their self-esteem! You don't have to be a history major or a political scientist to see the bigger-dick foreign policy theory. It sounds like this: "What, they have bigger dicks? Bomb them!" And of course, the bombs and the rockets and the bullets are all shaped like dicks. It's a subconscious need to project the penis into other people's affairs. It's called "fucking with people!"
724  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Multiple wallets on: March 18, 2015, 03:16:48 PM
For now I have two wallets - btc core and blockchain.info , but I heard about blockchain.info being unsafe so I am considering replacing it with some other after I have some meaningfull amount. Just can't decide to what wallet to change..

Yeah blockchain.info have had some problems recently but I'd still recommend them as a hot wallet (for storing small amounts of btc).

Can't go wrong with core as long as you've got enough hd space Wink
725  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you trust yourself to manage your own private keys? on: March 18, 2015, 03:06:14 PM
You've only got to look at the last bailouts (eg. Iceland, UK, US) to know that storing fiat in a bank is not without risk. You may be 'protected' up to a certain amount but you still have to put a lot of trust into these centralized institutions.

I completely trust myself to look after my private keys, if anything thing happens to them it's my fault and noone elses. Zero red tape and zero regulation, if I lose them I don't expect to be bailed out by other peoples taxes.

727  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin craze dying down? on: March 16, 2015, 04:46:57 PM
Is it just me or does it seem like the bitcoin "craze" has died down a lot? Not as much people active in talking about it, and especially in other forums for altcoins, there used to be a lot of buzz and excitement but not any more it seems Sad

Never considered bitcoin a 'craze', the novelty may have worn off a bit but that's to be expected I suppose.

This is still a very active forum, no doubt they'll be another surge of excitement when the bitcoin price reaches another high point.
728  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Let me know if I am getting this right. on: March 15, 2015, 04:50:30 PM
Check out on my signature, i dont know how far you want to be an anonym and untraceability, but the best advice is use wallet sent to exchanger, and then sent to another exchanger, then use mixer. The risk is you must pay much fees.

~iki

Wouldn't recommend using clearnet mixing services if you want to remain anonymous, the only mixing service I'd 'trust' would be bitcoinfog, even then I only mix small amounts at a time in case the site get taken down or hacked etc

@OP sending your btc through several exchanges should help, exchanging them through some alts should also help obscure traceability.

729  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Woke up today and lost all my Bitcoins ! on: March 15, 2015, 01:44:44 PM
I firstly transferred 0.04 to an address on Mycelium and found out today that it got transfered to another address after 1 confirm. Secondly someone transferred my Bitcoins from both my wallets on my android phone 2.58187103 gambled them in the past 2 days and lost them all early morning to this address 1EdiKj78wUz6rFSmYQBTx9P165vEW27GiD. Can anyone help ? Thats all my Bitcoin gone in 3 days !

Sorry to hear that bud, I've had 5 btc stolen before so I know how i feels.

There's little chance you'll be able to get them back unfortunately, I'd recommend not using android wallets in the future.
730  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Gold vs Bitcoin: 1-0. With Gold, you can wipe your ass ;) on: March 15, 2015, 01:31:59 PM
You can wipe your ass on a paper wallet.

1-1

Wouldn't try and flush any paper wallets here:

Then again...

731  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Did you earn some bitcoin today? on: March 15, 2015, 12:52:54 PM
Did you earn some bitcoin today? If so, how did you do it? BTC

Yeah I earned ~0.5 btc from selling off some of my alt portfolio, my computer's been getting clogged up with too many different wallets so I decided to bite the bullet and get rid of most of them.

Also made a few satoshi from my current sig campaign Wink

732  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: ANY SIGNATURE CAMPAGIN FOR ME..[newbie] on: March 13, 2015, 02:17:11 PM
I'm a 777Coin advertiser for months. Been receiving my payout weekly on Monday without fail. The manager is very active - however, he was banned recently. Not to worry, others and me still receive our payout for last week. They accept Newbie like you. Try them. They have a good rate for new advertiser.

Many people seem to get banned after joining a signature campaign so I would be very careful if you join one. If you make poor low quality spammy posts you'll probably get banned so take that into consideration.
he does not have anything to loose as his account is only newbie rate

yeah but if he does get banned for spamming and he's not using a vpn/tor etc he'll get perma-banned for ban evasion if he opens a new account.

OP: there are several campaign for newbies, just be aware the mods are cracking down on prolific spammers.

733  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What to use Bitcoin on? on: March 13, 2015, 12:54:35 PM
Bitcoin can be used for buying both digital and physical goods, recently I've used it to buy games on steam, product codes for software and a small amount of day-trading (with other alt currencies).

More are more companies are accepting bitcoin nowadays, it wont be too long until you can buy pretty much anything you want. I'm looking forward to the day I can live fiat free Wink
734  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: what is the best wallet in the world? on: March 13, 2015, 12:23:05 PM
Hi, there are quite a few different wallets to choose from nowadays, plenty of info here to help you decide:

https://bitcoin.org/en/choose-your-wallet

The 'best' would have to be Bitcoin Core but it may not be the best for you (depends on your situation).

Just be wary of web wallets, they're fine for storing small amounts of bitcoin but anything more needs to be held securely off-line (recommend you read up on paper wallets and how to make them).
735  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin's Edge - How will bitcoin fight off competitors? on: March 13, 2015, 11:45:42 AM
Well, to loosely paraphrase Andreas Antonopoulos:

"There are already hundreds of currencies, so what's a few more? There could be multiple successful cryptocurrencies."

I can't see Bitcoin being overtaken by any of the current alt-currencies (maybe in the future...who knows). I agree with Andreas there could specific alts for different services, if an anonymous alt became the de facto currency for the dark-markets it would take a lot of heat off bitcoin.
736  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Canadian Town Bans Spitting, Swearing And Gathering In Groups Of Three Or More on: March 13, 2015, 10:46:19 AM
Wondering how they could possibly enforce all that, seems like they're criminalizing childhood.

No persons shall, during any period of the day allow, suffer or permit any electronic equipment, musical instruments, vehicles or any other devices to be sounded or used in any area of the Town of Taber, that may, or is likely, to disturb others.

So driving around in your car listening to music has been effectively banned there?
737  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Regulation The End For Bitcoin? on: March 13, 2015, 10:20:44 AM

Can you give out negative effects if Bitcoin is regulated?

I can't see how bitcoin could be regulated so I don't think it's anything we need to worry about just yet.

Supposing it could it would mean a lot more bureacracy and red-tape, something I'm not too keen on. If bitcoin turns into Fedcoin I'm sure a lot of hodlers will be switching to alt currencies.
738  Other / Politics & Society / Re: US police shoot homeless man dead in Los Angeles on: March 12, 2015, 12:22:37 PM

Wow, Judge Dredd would be proud of that statistic. I AM THE LAW!

Can appreciate there is a lot of crime in LA but there needs to be some safeguards from these trigger happy goons. Have to remember my body armor next time I'm cruising around Compton.
739  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Judge Orders Man To Stop Smoking In His Own House. Hipster Neighbors' Lawsuit… on: March 11, 2015, 08:01:11 PM
Insanity. If the new neighbors were that concerned surely they could have just sealed the basement wall rather than go through all the hassle of going to court?

Wonder what this will lead to...lawsuits over body odour?
740  Other / Meta / Re: Would you like to see ChangeTip working here and in forums generally? on: March 11, 2015, 06:34:49 PM
Really don't see the point when you can already tip members with their profile's btc address (assuming they've got one).

Not against it either, good if there was an option to hide Changetip if implemented. At the very least it would give people a choice.

I think the problem is that some people want an user-friendly system, like changetip (this is the unique reason valid).

Yeah I understand that, it would streamline btc tips between forum members. My main gripe would be all the changetip payment spam posts clogging up the threads, find it annoying on reddit when you're trying to read all the posts.
