Come on Dan, release the finishing code for REV2. You're still asking for REV2 to be "finished"? Please, take a look at the roadmap: http://xc-official.com/about/Everything listed under REV2 has been delivered. Therefore, it IS finished. What you are looking forward to is REV 2.5 which has no clear release date yet. We know that Dan and team have been testing encrypted messaging on testnet. Thus it would seem that REV 2.5 is coming along nicely and is perhaps not long from being ready. Just please stop asking for a finished REV2 because it's already here. Wrong wrong wrong wrong!!!!! It is still not finished. true. the version is 1.9.4 or something. not 2.0.

Can someone explain to me why Monero is better than XC? Or what the differences are briefly...
I've researched XC a lot but don't know much about am Monero
I can't really comment in detail since I'm not an expert on XC. I won't comment on anything related to how well XC delivers on its promises or whether those promises (if delivered) offer real value to users. I just don't know However, I do understand that fundamentally XC anonymity is based on a version of the masternode concept (in some ways similar to DRK,l but again I don't know the details), while Monero anonymity technologies are not. Monero uses cryptographic ring signatures to perform mixing without relying on any third party nodes at all. Another difference is that XC uses a PoW/PoS hybrid, while Monero is pure PoW. This may be helpful, at least in so far as it compares CoinJoin- and CoinSwap-style mixing with alternatives such as Monero (cryptonote) and Zerocash: http://bitcoin.stackexchange.com/questions/29471/is-there-any-true-anonymous-cryptocurrenciesxc is different from drk in the fact that any wallet can be a node so it's completely decentralised rather than semi. I'd recommend checking them out. The website explains it better than I can. Looking very promising as already has bounty out to crack anonymity has encrypted messaging working perfectly and some new devs have joined aswell as a marketing guy who's worked for Microsoft and addidas. I'll deffo keep an eye on Monero though. Thanks for info. It's hard to follow more than a couple coins I find.

Slightly off topic, but I normally use RoboForm for all my passwords so I can make ridiculously long ones without actually having to remember (or even know) them. I just have one master password for everything.
Would you say this is a good or bad idea in the crypto world?
A great idea, but you should write them down as well for physical back up. theres an option to print out all the passwords, but being over paranoid by reading about bitcoin paper wallets being stored in the printer etc, im worried to do that even. lol

seems I cant unlock my wallet. says password is incorrect... so when I entered it (twice) i must have got it wrong both times! wtf This wouldnt be because I updated to the latest wallet would it? thankfully i was only testing it with 1XC! Still, Its made me even more worried to transfer the rest from mintpal. so, do I delete all files including wallet.dat etc and start again? keep your old wallet.dat, backup ur wallets. your mostly inserting wrong code urself, ive never had a wrong password with any locked wallet whatsoever yeah i must have just made a mistake. It was the weekend and I'd had a few beers. ive backed up my wallet anyway even though theres only 1 xc in it. but reading the guide... "Important: Note that the wallet.dat file is encrypted, so if you lose your password then you will not be able to access it on any computer." ...so its gone anyway basically yeah? Like I say, its only 1 xc so im not really fussed.

Could someone make a complete noob tutorial for making your XC completely 100% safe. Teka you mention you have yours stored very safely what did you do?
Thanks :-)
We made one on the website: http://www.xc-official.com/wallet/Of particular relevance are encrypting your app, backing up your wallet.dat file, and backing up your private keys. Let us know if you have any questions, but the how-to should pretty much sort you out. Cheers, I must have missed that. The guide is fine for the latest wallet I presume? @ teka, do u mean backup wallet.dat in an encrypted fine on a USB?

Maybe a docier or 'rules of xcurrency community'... as a foundation would be helpful. I know dogecoin could never get this together, but would have helped.
Ex: 1. Be good to each other. 2. No FUD here or other forums. 3. Answer FUD with facts, not emotion. 4......
Yes, this would be valuable. How about this? 1. Be good to each other 2. Be gracious to "enemies" 3. Completely ignore spam, FUD, and abusive comments 4. If you respond to anything with the above in it, erase the offending remarks from your reply before posting, because leaving it in will allow it to incite further offense. (Also Teka might delete your post.) 5. Don't ever spread FUD elsewhere. Respect other projects. XC doesn't need to compete with them; it's strong enough on its own. 6. Be patient with newbies. There'll be a lot of them arriving as XC grows. 7. The way you treat people makes up 95% of what's relevant in a post; the information supplied is 5%. 8. The way XC appears to the world depends on the way you are to other people. 9. Be aware of the difference between what you perceive and what you infer from your perceptions (e.g. statements vs. the intentions suggested by statements). 10. You devalue yourself by being aggressive/insulting/etc. 11. If we don't treat opponents well, then we just take on their mode of interacting instead of imparting our mode of interacting. 12. So be good to each other. X1000. Brilliant. Just look how Doge did so well for this one simple reason... Great, helpful, nice community. Maybe we could get the doge crew onboard if they fancy being nice and also making a bit of money at the same time lol.

For those who weren't online last night, Rev 2 beta is now on mainnet!
where can I download this? Also, regarding your last few posts. You're doing a great job and I agree 100% on all points. Keep up the good work

Mr Ricardo, why are you here anyways? If you dont like XC, go find another coin you like and support that. Or did you just create that account to start fud for cheaper coins, because you're too much of a pussy to use your real account
I am researching the ground before starting giveaways. When i am done, i will proceed payments very shortly. Giveaways of what? for what? ... why the random FUD? much confuse.

I know some people may not agree with this use case, but if darknet markets start accepting XC I would think we would get a huge boost. I mean with the Tor stick implentation it seems like a perfect fit. No need for mixers anymore for those that care about such things. Demand would skyrocket. Just my thoughts on the matter.
Thats what I was thinking, demand would skyrocket. But what if xc could have it's own decentralized market that would work on xc, that would be great. It wouldnt look very good to the rest of the world if we had an inbuilt market selling drugs etc though would it.

Thanks Conrad. Just replied to that. I think the reason why this coin is lower than it should be in value right now is solely due to marketing. The coding and developments of the coin have been tremendous, but no one will know about this coin if its not marketed properly. I think part of it also depends on you how you word statements. Alot of people don't understand the technical terms behind REV2 especially, I think an FAQ in plain english that a 5 year old can understand would be really helpful. Also like someone suggested a few pages back, a fair, unbiased comparison against the other ANON coins will also do wonders for this coin... Agreed, but Im pretty sure the team will soon be on this. Im happy with the low price at the moment tbh.
