Payments are temporarily paused. Something happened last night and somebody was paid a lot more than they should have been. All failed payouts will be resent once funds are transferred back to the hot wallet and I find out what happened.
Thanks.

Excellent result!
I am puzzled by the duplicate work, did you investigate this ?

just checked my freq after 15h of continuous uptime.
i've got settings of --avalon -auto --avalon -temp 40 and i have 325 set in default box above. according to con the latter shouldn't matter.
problem is that hashrate is averaging only about 70 G Mh/sec. i thought it was supposed to go as high as 80-85?
edit: and freq are btwn 285-305
Set the temp to 50 and try again. Could take a while before it starts increasing the freq. You can set the starting freq if you like. You are also giving it confusing arguments: Starting freq 325, and maintain freq between 285-305. Starting freq is ok, set freq range to 275-350 and try again.

By "deleting LAN" you mean disabling it using Stop button in Network -> Interfaces ?
And one more question: If the temperature changes I can hear fans going down and up again, would it not be a good idea just to put all fans on 100 % in order to get the lowest temperature possible and at the same time not putting stress on fans by changing their operational conditions?
Yes, first disable and when wireless is ok delete it. You can always activate it again via ssh. I don't see any harm in setting the fans at 100% all the time, except for the noise. Maybe others see it differently?

Some had other experiences, but the exact same problem went away for me when I switched to wireless and (software) deleted the lan. Be careful with deleting the lan, don't do it until you're certain that you can reach the avalon over wireless.

Well, 44 minutes uptime looks promising. So once more - thank you BenTuras!
Better thank CKolivas!

And you don't think they took 100x the stress during transit?
I know they did, that caused my silver Avalon to be damaged. (And I would like to end the discussion here, we agree to disagree and that's fine by me).

No it doesn't. They're designed to STACK horizontally.
The boards are connected to the case only on the bottom. So if you put the case vertical, you'll put a lot of stress on the few screws that hold the board to the case. The black Avalons seems to be better than the silver ones, but better be save than sorry.

Hey all,
...confirmations on butfunder...
LOL!

Mine has been upside down most of the time without a problem. It all looked pretty well secured when I opened it up and heat radiates from the "base" when it's upside down.
If it's a silver unit I wouldn't put it upside down. Just have a look at the few number of threads of the screws that hold the heavy boards to the case: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=211928If it's a black unit, I have seen messages that this issue has been solved.

... If I added a 1of4 analog switch and used the 2 available lines then I could sequentially sense each of the 4 thermistors, allowing separate readings for each quad. I could then relay them as status values for the driver to decide what to do. IS this something that is worth added cost of a switch chip?
I would say 1 sensor for 16 chips in the center on the heatsink. The heatsink will spread the warmth more or less and a sensor in the middle will probably pick up close to the highest temp of all 16 chips.
|
|
|
... and an aluminum plate to the front which really presses the chips down onto the heatsink.
It has been said many times not to put anything on top of the chips. You'll destroy them.

Don't set up your Avalon vertical. It needs to be horizontal.

Someone on another thread added a link to an awesome fish tank project with a pc, ideal size, it worked, and they now make a kit all components included for you for around US $500...
Do you mean this firm: http://www.pugetsystems.com/ ?

Do you own a refinery ?! That will use a lot of mineral oil, darn! LOL, -18 degrees C mineral oil, better get one that isn't frozen at that temp! (In reality, the Avalon chips will heat the oil more than the freezer can cool it)
|
|
|
FOOKING AWESOME IDEA there BEN. Capacity? 40 - 60 litres LOL. Yeah, ideas start brilliant, then you really think and question - how to get the old washing powder residu out of the system
- will the hoses cope with the mineral oil
- input of the pump is on the bottom where the 'cold' oil is
On the other hand, - it should be water tight
- there is a pump to circulate the oil
