721  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Just hodl, bitcoin will do the silencing. on: March 03, 2024, 10:18:57 PM
Anyone coming into Bitcoin without making up his mind to hodl Bitcoin may not fully realize the potential in Bitcoin. We have seen the importance of hodling just from last year to this time as Bitcoin have shown the potential at yielding profits once again. From the low of 2023 to the present point we are now, those who bought and held till now should be swimming in good profits. The example of El Salvador you gave where the country's Bitcoin portfolio is in 40% profits is a good case of the beauty of hodling. Developing the mindset of a hodler and subduing the negativities is one skill all Bitcoin investors must cultivate. Kudos to Bukele and the people of El Salvador for being worthy ambassadors of Bitcoin.

They are the true embassador of Bitcoin indeed, and they as a nation holding and co-existing with Bitcoin is also proof to others that this feat is actually possible. Bitcoin itself now is used mainly because of its ability to be utilized as an investment means so anyone without the intention of holding their coins is probably just doing himself because he will be filled with regrets when others are actually enjoying the fruits of their labour.
722  Local / Off-topic (Naija) / Re: Do not overwork yourself on: March 03, 2024, 09:06:17 PM
One important topic to take seriously in life, has they may say life has no duplicate.once you over labour your self you might brake down,if not now later when old age has come.cause all you nerves must have been weak because when you were young you have stressed the nerves so hard without rest so when is time to rest your nerves most have been weak to activate.
That's one thing about life you can't cheat nature, when we work beyond our strength it is important to give a break continuing and stressing yourself to work more it can make you breakdown totally but people fail to give attention to their body instead they would prefer to continue working because of they want to make more money . Health is wealth, we need to take care of our health to be strong to look for more money but when you are down you won't have the strength to go after money. Instead you can end up spending all the money you have.
The thing be say because of the struggles for the belle Kingdom e dey very hard to actually meet person wey still get time to really acknowledge these vital notes about our  health concerns because truth be told it's of the most vital importance and if we no dey careful to know this then all the repercussions na for our old age we go still enjoy am because e no go dey normal when we don exhaust and distabilize our body at young age and then come face breakdown.
723  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: The sooner you find an alternative the better on: March 03, 2024, 08:42:51 PM
This is nothing but the gospel truth. The way the country is going now, one need several sources of income to be able to survive and meet targets. In Nigeria now, the worst hit in this present economy are those working, because salary barely increased yet prices of things has doubled. Now relying on the same salary that was just enough for the needs is totally a disaster. The only option available now is to look for alternative source of income that will compliment the salary. It is a worse situation for those who do not even have a job who are in the majority. We really have to try because help from government is not forthcoming so we have to help ourselves as we cannot afford to fail our children and loved ones. Suggestions on alternative opportunities that can help will be welcome.
Before before when I been dey grow up, I been carry 100knaira salary people as the ones with the most convenient and GoodLife style but as things began to happen and the country began to tie wrapper I have now found out that even those 100k salary per month earners sef follow for the struggling class of citizens in the country. It's not easy for everyone in this country and being hopeful for a particular means of income is really a journey that carries anguish and long suffering because the problems you will be amounted with will finish that funds within a twinkle of an eye.
724  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What Work Now May Not Work Tomorrow on: March 03, 2024, 08:26:23 PM
I always tell and advise my friends who are new to gambling to never look for a pattern in luck-based games because there is none even the ever-popular martingale is not a guarantee that you can find a pattern that will give you a continuous win.

I have a friend who boasted that he had found a pattern where it allowed him to win 10 successive bets on Mine Sweeper, he used that pattern two successive days with success but unfortunately for him on the third day those patterns are not working anymore even on the 4th and fifth days, now he is back on the drawing board again..

Reading your thread just made me remembered this particular friend of mine who was also of the same taught because he always say and brag that every game has a system that needs understanding that if you calm yourself to really know the pattern to follow then continues winning will not cease from your gambling session. He introduced a particular game that he usually stakes the money with minutes remaining to the ending of game and  then he would continue the process because for some time it worked for him but everything changes and the losses he received just way bigger than the winnings.
725  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which of these betting Statements Do you Agree or Disagree With? on: March 03, 2024, 08:19:04 PM
I want to believe that we all agree that our betting budget should be within 5% -10% of our monthly income as responsible gamblers. However, our perspective on sports betting differs. Look at the gambling sentences and indicate which of the statements you agree or disagree with. You could also write a brief explanation for your standpoint

1. Don't bet all your money on one bet.
2. Bet the same amount on every bet.
3. Don't bet more than once a day.
4. Don't bet every day.

Well am not a fan of fixating all my funds on a particular sports so I think I will agree with the diversity of betting option although that's my own view to this and one of the main reasons that am certain of this is that gambling is all about luck and diversifying it would probably increase your chances of atleast getting a win on different sports but atleast having basic knowledge of the sports is also a welcome step.

728  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Try to stick to your instincts as a gambler on: March 02, 2024, 11:21:37 PM

Today i decided to try one of my sweet predictions in the EPL games. So, i predicted in 4 matches and placed my net. However, during this time i watched my games played so well but two games were holding it and i felt i would lose this game. It was already 83 minutes and i needed these games to play at 87 minutes i gave up and decided to cashout the amount i used to stake since it was the amount that was showing there. I thought it was clear and instead of losing i should rather just get my money back. Just in 15 minutes after i checked the live score and found out that the game played. I felt so angry and unhappy because i have not trusted my instincts if not i wouldn't have cashed out at that time.
That's why it's called gambling, as there is no certainty to what might happen in the game and that's why the hard choice and call to take is always meant to be decided by you. Gambling is a game of luck and sometimes a game of mind because it's that risk that you take will show how gamble minder you are. And again if I were you I wouldn't be surprised at all because even the times that we might decide to go strong like a gambler and leave the game we still find out that the result ended in a loss.
729  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will the price of Bitcoin hit a new all-time high? on: March 02, 2024, 11:12:07 PM
History always says it's after the halving so I'm not sure before the halving but it would be possible because to get to $69K it's a little bit more not impossible right? If it's before the halving? But I'm never sure about these things.

Regarding the price reaching the highest price it is still very possible even $100K is reasonable if you believe that prediction because after the halving we will know what happens later but make sure you have bitcoin in your bag so that when the price reaches ATH there is no regret or you are prepared to sell it.
To be honest I must say the rate at which Bitcoin actually moved was a really big surprise for me and even though previous or past records show that the breaching of previous ATH always comes after the halving but with the way Bitcoin is moving I think there might be some possiblity to seeing that the last ATH is reached more earlier this time around even before the halving is reached. Bitcoin is very volatile and this is what makes it very unique in terms of its movement and I do hope that this bull run brings even up to $200k in Bitcoin price.
730  Local / Off-topic (Naija) / Re: Marriage right wan de increase pass price of goods o! on: March 02, 2024, 09:19:12 PM
Lol..... Omo as e be for this our country Naija, nothing won carry last o, everything won cost at all times, even the least thing way we think say na the least thing no be least thing again o, if everything dey cost while bride price no go increase? Everything or everyone won benefits from one thing or the other to take chop, if na side person won use get small thing to take hold e side, na where person dey work na belle dey, so people way dey in charge of marriage rights go add small thing to take benefits small too, but no be only about marriage rights sha, na the things involve like drinks and kolanuts etc.

This country is in lapses at this point so we should expect everything to be skyrocketing, though the marriage rites are for individual family, I don't attribute it to the government but the people, do you know that most time we the people are our own problem, if you are collecting huge amount of money from your inlaws to marry your daughter, the question I ask is that are indirectly telling people that you want to sell off your daughter because the the little I know about this marriage right of a thing is just a tradition to give out her hand in marriage and the rites is suppose to be tradition stuffs with very little amount of money but it has been modernised by our so called parents and community elders, God will help Nigeria.
The thing is that some of these parents or maybe their culture has given them this low mentality that charging huge money for your daughters hand in marriage is actually the best thing and most even go as far as comparing the cost of living to the money that they in-law gives them stating that the money should be able to cover some of their needs and that's a really crazy idea if you ask me .
731  Local / Politics and society (Naija) / Re: Recent dollar price. A good one? on: March 02, 2024, 09:14:28 PM
The truth is dollar too is depreciating due to inflation in the general scheme of things. But the rate of depreciation of naira compared to dollar is very high. So ideally dollar sometimes isn't increasing but rather naira is losing value. And unfortunately , the Nigerian exchange rate is based mainly on dollar so all effects of inflation indirectly falls back on us.
The simple economics behind all these is the digits don't really matter but rather what matters most is the value. As long as Naira depreciates, relatively dollar will rise however price of goods and services will also skyrocket making #1600 to a dollar seem like #500 to a dollar so even those earning in dollar will still feel the heat of inflation even though they earn in a lot of digits the digits won't matter since the value is relatively low compared to price of things
And this is what many people don't know too. I say this because just the other day some of my friends were saying they are very happy that the price of dollar is increasing and that it won't affect them because they currently earn in dollars but they knew not that if naira continues to fall, the price value of good and commodities will sky rocket making that your dollar value a bit low because a case where you can get something for 40knaira  and maybe equivalent to 20$ and then the price of that goods goes up to 80knaira  the price in dollar too will increase thereby eating up your hard labour.
732  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Losing at gambling on: March 02, 2024, 09:06:56 PM
When everything's going well, it's cool. But sometimes (often?) money problems lead to divorce. Suppose your spouse/husband gambles a lot, his or her loss/profit ratio is acceptable (so it's fine), but then one day he or she has bet it all and lost it all. You've got nothing left (and no savings either). What's your reaction? Has this ever happened to you?

If someone is that much irresponsible to bet the entire savings amount on gambling for whatever reason then I don't think it's acceptable at all and divorce maybe the right decision for our sake. I don't think we need to tolerate that kind of partner for entire life because it will turn into hell of a life in the earth itself. And talking about savings it is always good to save the money individually instead of pooling with your partner but when they are in financial needs for something essential then it's indeed to help.
Divorce is definitely the right option for any of the pair that is the affected party in the relationship and I believe the male is in much situation to do this although am not saying I haven't seen crazy female gamblers but they are very rare and it's only a few percentage. Gambling like this is a really crazy gambling and with such habit the both parties will even put the welfare of their children at stake so it's best they separate.
733  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you had this gambling experience? on: March 02, 2024, 08:58:46 PM
I don't know if other gamblers have gotten this experience maybe ones or more throughout their time as gamblers. Cause I have had this experience a few times though I can't actually pinpoint the numbers.

There have been times I just out of no serious interest or enthusiasm just decide to try a few predictions on football games and due to the lack of interest in the games just decides to stake with a very low amount and boom, the games played, and you just realized the money won is nothing to be glad about.

But on certain day's i take the game seriously and put my mind into it and as a result had to stake in a good tangible amount of money to have the potential money to be won big but the games don't usual play despite all of the seriousness and analysis exerted into putting up the games.

This weekend I had that awkward experience again and the funny aspect is that it doesn't in anyway come to mind to remember to increase the stake seeing how reluctant I was feeling when booking the games just like other random times

Does anyone also has it this way at one time or the other with their predictions.
Well I can't tell you how many times I have experience this because it's definitely something that I used to experience before that I was serious with my gambling hobby, I have in some weeks said to myself that this week it's a must win for me and put all my efforts into predicting the outcome of the games but that's when the actual results even go crazier than what I even expected while the time when you are being reluctant that's when the result always come for you .
734  Local / Off-topic (Naija) / Re: Diversification is the only solution now on: March 01, 2024, 10:29:37 PM
Thier is no need to write any long episode about this yearly occurrence happening in this country cause if it's not this problem another will find it way to us and in one way or the other, our financial life is always threatened.

Naira scarcity came and business people suffered and most of them went bankrupt. end sars, covid, and the whole luckdown saga rendered somany people in the transportation sector clueless because most of them where depending on that single area of income.

For those that have invested for long, the market is already bullish and some might have reached thier profit point and would have collected or thought of selling Thier holding maybe to reinvest it during the bearish period but I just want to say that considering the current reality, it's best we invest partly into an online asset and partly into a physical asset or business so in the event that we can't continue with our physical business on a temporary bases, we just face the online one and if the only one is facing de minor challenge as this, we face the physical business so we don't allow minor issues as this to always give us serious heart attach.

Before you even start to hold any cryptocurrency it's advised that you have a source of income either from your work or business, so you don't get stranded in your accumulation journey. So having a source of income is the first and most important thing because without that there is no holding, those into business are already in track while those into monthly or weekly work should also get themselves a small business in addition, no amount is sufficient enough to be satisfied with without searching for more.
If you start to hold Bitcoin as investment means without getting a tangible job is called an Hippocratic act because me and you know say saving money continue no dey easy and na only person wey don understand him self na fit run this matter because if you no get job wey dey sustain you then you go surely go back to touching your coins because e no dey easy and na why e dey always advice to actually get a good source of job because jumping to accumulate Bitcoin.
735  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Bitcoiners don't spend all your profits. on: March 01, 2024, 10:23:10 PM
Instead of selling all with the mindset to save using fiat I no really support that idea cause the way things be now you fit keep money to take do something but you might end up doing something else with the money so instead of holding the money in the bank why not sell some percent and save the rest in your wallet as na the same bitcoin you go still buy, secondly wanting more is not a bad idea so you can buy something valuable like land with the money or you research for something better to buy so when the time reach for the bear market you can sell to accumulate and definitely profit go come out instead of saving with fiat that has zero value

That one no be bad idea oo, because so many go find am hard for this bull market season as dem go dey confuse on the time to sell and aslo how to sell and by "how" I mean exactly watin the OP dey talk about. E go better say people actually look into this plan of yours because land na asset wey get add value overtime and I fit even talk say him own value increase dey faster than Bitcoin own that's if you calculate and reason am well. E no go bad to sell some of your coins or even all sef for the price wey you wan plan to sell then use the money buy land so that when the bear market comes you fit buy back in low amount so that your Bitcoin value go increase like watin that famous thread wey dey for speculation dey preach @ ""BUY THE DIP AND HODL""
736  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The Future of Gambling on: March 01, 2024, 10:11:48 PM
I believe we will have a very promising future. With artificial intelligence to help and even VR for greater immersion. The trend is for betting to become more fun and interactive. I believe this will attract more people. In the end, the goal is to have fun.
Metaverse technology will control the whole internet world in the future as it will give us a virtual reality feel which will attract the future generations of people.  So the gambling platform will not be left behind in this regard.  When one gambles using VR he will experience real life gambling.  With enough gambling now, the future may see a lot more.  And even if it is possible to control oneself from gambling nowadays, I wonder how much that would be possible in that metaverse world.

I think it will be practically impossible, so I believe by that time every gambler would just have to stick with the mentality that gambling is only for fun and nothing more because with all the advancement that would be present during that period, it will definitely be very easy for one to be addicted and get stuck to gambling so it's better to avoid or control your taught of gambling for money purpose because it will land you in very a tight place .
737  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who was Satoshi Nakamoto? on: March 01, 2024, 10:05:50 PM
But why are we always trying to find out Satoshi's real identity when he decided to remain anonymous forever? Haven't we always said that we respect him, we respect his decisions and that he has chosen to remain anonymous forever but we are always hunting him? Do we really respect him? Furthermore, if we find out his true identity and if that puts him in danger (if he is still alive). So what do we do next? Personally, I hope none of us know who he is, that's what he wants and I'll respect that.
I totally agree with you. Maybe at first when you learn a few things about bitcoin you wish you could knew who Satoshi is/are but then if you actually understand all the ideas behind bitcoin and how it can really change the way we manage money, you should simply respect his/their decision to be anonymous and left alone. I know some people love trying to solve these types of mysteries, I hope they'll never succeed.
That's the nature of man and it's practically what everyone would be thinking, @curiosity. Believe me no one is eve content with the story that a genius is hiding himself but the truth is that we all should try and just let it be as this idea is probably for the best interest of the survival of this forum and also Bitcoin at large because I know for sure that if Satoshi was to be known by the government officials am very sure that the survival and control of Bitcoin will be something that is going to be hanging by a thread.
738  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin proven many times holders won't regret on: March 01, 2024, 09:54:45 PM
If we see the history of Bitcoin, then it's pretty easy to see how Bitcoin recovered its price. It would take time to recover, but eventually it did. So at the end of the day, holders don't need to be regretful. I am talking about Bitcoin, not about any other altcoin. Because even though the Bitcoin price has recovered, many altcoins haven't recovered yet. Even those who bought Bitcoin at the top in the last bull run, I believe they are almost recovered. If they are still holding, they will be in profit within a couple of months. Bitcoin has given us a costly lesson that holders won't regret. We should take that lesson and keep it in mind for the future.
Yeah that's true and this is what what actually clears it from the others because Bitcoin unlike the others always have the reputation to get back to the actual price it once was and even beating that price to set a new one everytime and this is why HODLERS for sure will never regret their actions of chosing to keep Bitcoin despite all the twist and turns it might have involved itself.

The bull season is here and many HODLers will definitely be smiling that's if you are holding Bitcoin in particular because like you said not all the coins recover so greatly like Bitcoin.
739  Other / Off-topic / Re: Does having children have an influence on gambling habits? on: February 29, 2024, 11:48:04 PM
When you have one or more children, you have heavy responsibilities. Sometimes you're on a tight budget. Can being a parent change our playing habits? Are losses even harder to bear when you're in charge of a family? What are your experiences in this area?

You are supposed to know your responsibility as a parents and if you fail to access this and go stupid with your gambling habit then obviously the repercussions are only yours to bear because any mistake made will greatly affect you as a father so it's better to limit your expenses when it's comes to gambling and if possible have some spare cash that won't be of any effect to you even if you find yourself losing the game .
740  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: The government can't fight the present situation alone on: February 29, 2024, 09:36:36 PM
The only way for the government to fight this economy problem now is to band any exported goods, since they have ban imported goods, give fertilizer to farmers and fight insecurity in the country, creation of modular refinary, and grant authorizations to them.
That would take a million years for the government of Nigeria to actualize because they tend not to focus their actions on these issues but instead to channel their efforts on places that aren't worth or the cause of this economic problem that Nigeria is facing. Firstly the excessive printing of the naira should be regulated because that also causes the depreciation of the value of the naira in the exchange market and like you said closing its borders and building up internal will help boost the economic strength to a large extent but the people in power will never resort to this because they are not going to benefit from it too.
