721  Economy / Economics / Re: A course worth studying ? on: January 31, 2024, 06:09:50 PM
I don't really think economy is a bad course to study in school, and I would have loved to also watch that video you are talking about to know their exact reason for it, but to me everything that have advantage will also have disadvantage, so the disadvantage part of it shouldn't stop us from doing things or going for course we have passion for, because when as an individual you are studying or doing things you don't have passion for, you will not be able to give out your full potential in that field of study, so my candid advice to the op is that if it's what you love doing, then you made the right decision, because we only die once, so we should live life by doing things we love.
722  Economy / Exchanges / Re: All my savings on BKEX are gone. on: January 31, 2024, 05:50:18 PM
Sorry for your lose because I don't think there are any company that have the capacity to recover them back, and it's only the government that can make a serious attempt of recovering that money, which I don't think is 100% certain, so if anyone is telling you that you should pay him so that he can recover that money back for you, just know that he is just trying to milk you the more, because scammers are getting sophisticated everyday, so it's near impossible to recover what is already in their possession.
Another thing I would advice is before using an exchange, try to do your own findings, to know how credible and popular they are world wide so that you wouldn't fall into something like this again in the future, because what I perceived about this your bkex is that, they are not really an exchange, it's just a ponzi scheme that disguise as an exchange.
723  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Paying with Bitcoin. on: January 31, 2024, 05:30:24 PM

Is it ok for you to purchase items with Bitcoin? If yes or no, please state your reasons so we can all learn from it.

Thank you
Yes, because that was his primary purpose of it creation, for it to replace the fiat currencies, but what have really been the issue that it has not actualize it full potential is it lack of adoption world wide.

If Bitcoin have been adopted by all nations, by now the price of it would have skyrocket to a figure we never imagine, but the major disadvantage of using Bitcoin for payment is it high fee's which I think will really be a barrier in it quest for adoptability world wide.
724  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading not for everyone! on: January 31, 2024, 04:04:14 AM
I would say yes in so many cases, yes trading of futures is not for newbies, yes trading is not for for someone that have no knowledge of the craft, yes trading is not for an impatience person, yes trading is not for someone that have no knowledge of technical analysis, yes trading is not for those that think it's a get rich quick scheme, yes it not for everyone because their are some people that even though they are being taught trading since from childhood, they wouldn't still know anything about it, but just know that in trading, their are people that are born for it, they knows the craft like ABC, even though they get some losses at some point, they will still be profitable, because they know how to manage their risk, so you are right, trading is not for everyone.
725  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Pay off DEBT by do Gambling? think again before you loss more on: January 31, 2024, 03:31:41 AM
Gambling is not for everyone, I have had lot of terrible experience while gambling in the past so as I am now, it is ultra difficult for anyone to convince me to start gambling again due my ugly experience I have had in the past, but that's by the way, when as an individual you bet with what you cannot afford to lose in the name of you want to pay of your debt, I can bet you that you are venturing into more difficult situation, because betting a money you cannot afford to lose is very bad and it has it disastrous effect on you as a person, and most of the suicide case we have heard concerning gambling is always trace down to gambling what they can't afford to lose, which they will eventually take their own life because they don't know how to face that ugly situation in their lives.
726  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Africa Football Discussion || Current Topic: AFCON 2023 on: January 31, 2024, 03:09:08 AM
Senegal and Egypt getting knocked out didn't surprise me much, but South Africa winning Morocco was a very big surprise to me. I didn't think South Africa had it in them. I knew it was not going to be a difficult game but I didn't expect Morocco to be knocked out. We are witnessing a very interesting tournament and like I said yesterday, there's still more to come.

This is one of the most interesting AFCON tournament in a long term now. Big teams that are being seen to have won the tournament are the ones getting knocked out by the small teams, what an intriguing tournament it is. To me, Nigeria, Ivory Coast and South Africa are the only big teams left in this competition and they may likely meet each other in the semifinal of the tournament i.e Nigeria and South Africa. If Ivory Coast can secure a win throughout their remaining matches, they could meet with either Nigeria or Ivory Coast at the final if they also made it there too. No teams are being undermined now, so we expect anything to happen before that time.

I think it's just unbelievable how almost all the bigger teams have been knockout of this afcon by smaller teams, which I find very interesting, because most of the bigger teams wasn't able to leave up to the hype around them, even though I still feel that this year afcon  will still be won by a bigger team, such as Nigeria or Cote D'Ivoire national team.

Secondly, I really expected this Moroccan national team to go all the way to the final in this year African cup of nations unlike others due to their performance in the immediate past world cup, which they came out fouth, but they were not able to live up to the expectations of their traveling fans and cheering supporters at the stands by not being able to beat the bafana bafana of south Africa which I think is inferior to them, but that's football, it full of surprises.
727  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: January 31, 2024, 02:35:55 AM
Very disappointing that Brighton couldn't get a goal... That's the only event in my multi bet that didn't work... I really expected a tough game for them, but I could not imagine that they would concede four goals from Luton... It was a big surprise for me...
Really sorry for that, but you really need to understand that those teams that are in a relegation battle, betting against them this period of time is very risky because they knows that if they continue losing they will definitely go down, so in such senario, they will be playing their remaining matches like a cup final, so expect them to fight with everything they goth because they don't want to go down to the lower division, so from now till towards the end of the season, just be expecting more surprises in terms of results.
728  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: January 30, 2024, 07:30:15 PM
Nott'm Forest v Arsenal

Nott'm Forest — Turner; Montiel, Omobamidele, Murillo, Toffolo; Mangala, Danilo; Domínguez, Gibbs-White(C), Williams; Wood.

Arsenal — Raya; White, Saliba, Gabriel Magalhães, Zinchenko; Ødegaard(C), Rice, Smith Rowe; Saka, Gabriel Jesus, Gabriel Martinelli.

Here is lineup between Nott'm Forest and Arsenal starting 11, can Arsenal continue with the massive goals or Nott'm Forest will put an end to it, let see if Arsenal can still maintain the third place in table, Nott'm Forest are really in good form now, can they do what they do to Manchester United, this match is going to be a tough one.
Arsenal is a very good team just as I have already said in the past, but they lack the consistency to put away the smaller teams, which have limited them in their quest for the title.

But I think that this particular game will really be an interesting encounter between these teams because if you look at their head to head record in their last five meetings between them, arsenal have won three times while Nott'm forest have won twice, so it will be a very difficult match for this arsenal team because their opponent knows how to beat them also, so arsenal needs to be at the top of their game if they must win this one and keep on to their push for the title.
729  Other / Off-topic / Re: Strong desire and integrity helps a man reach his goal on: January 30, 2024, 05:32:10 PM
Though integrity is a very important virtue in a man's life, but I don't really see it as on of the most important component needed to push you closer to your goal faster, but what I really think  that takes you closer to your goal faster is the obsession in putting in the work, by working hard and smart.
Even in the crypto industry, if you want to be knowledgeable enough faster so that you can know how to navigate your way in the crypto space on your own, then you need to do more research by yourself, take the best available crypto course without anybody reminding you when to put in the work so you can gain more knowledge.

And another thing that will makes you move closer to your goal faster is for you to be focus more on why you are embarking on the journey for the first place, by  paying no attention to distraction such as women or men if you are a woman, so focus and concentration is one vital tools you need to reach your goal faster.
730  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Leap year na bull period for all sectors; Get the best out of it. on: January 30, 2024, 11:53:03 AM
My brother dis leap year Tory you dy tlk now I never too pay attention to it oo, but this year, I don dy see high level of progress in the process more than throughout last year all together.

Concerning our hustling, anybody wey allow procrastination limit am, na him do him self, as I dy so I just dy vex for myself say the kind knowledge I don get about Bitcoin and investment recently, which I no know earlier, because if I been dy sophisticated with this kind knowledge earlier, the kind level I for dy now in terms of my financial standard, people for dy call me yahoo boy by now, but anyhow, I still tnk God for life, na to keep on grinding by doing my other hustle and accumulating more Bitcoin , till the bull run comes.
731  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: You can not win if you do not risk on: January 30, 2024, 11:34:37 AM
Yes, gambling is all about risk, if as an individual you are afraid of risking your hard earn money, then you aren't will to win, moreover risk is part of the game, but as a responsible gambler, you should risk what you can afford to lose, so you won't have problems just as most addictive gamblers.

The major reason most gamblers get into trouble is that they risk too much of their hard earn money, by  risking money they can't afford to lose, which is totally wrong in my opinion.
732  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Making wise use of your crypto finance on: January 30, 2024, 07:58:18 AM
All what the op said is right, except the keeping of 80% of your profit for investment, which I think to me is unrealistic due to the current economy situation in the country now. If you are talking of like 50% that would have been reasonable, because the way price of things are really cost nowadays, and how our naira has lost value,  you will be forced to go am tamper with the money you kept for investment purpose, if you don't have an emergency fund just as @makus has already said.
In all this, I just think that we should try to utilize our finances properly now, and prepare for the rainy days, because I believe that nothing last for ever, it's only when we prepare for tomorrow that we can scale through it without troubles.
733  Economy / Economics / Why we should prioritize investment over saving on: January 30, 2024, 04:01:27 AM
Saving our hard earned money have never been a bad idea, but their are certain things we need to consider before thinking of saving, such as inflation.
Inflation is truly the real enemy to every money that is being saved up, because when the time is right like a year time, when it should be used for it purpose, the value wouldn't be as how it actually was when you started saving it, but on the other hand, if we have been investing that money into Bitcoin, land or gold bit by bit, over the course of a year, the value of that your investment would have added additional value compared to our savings that will be eaten up by inflation.
So too me we should think of investing more of our money than saving it, so that  inflation wouldn't eat it up.
734  Other / Off-topic / Re: Having a regular/steady income is important as a gambler. on: January 30, 2024, 03:29:47 AM
How will you fund your gambling harbit if you don't have a source of income? So it is a must that you must have something doing to fund your gambling lifestyle,  but no matter how many source of income we have, even though it's up to ten source, if you as an individual gambles more than you can afford to lose and it doesn't goes your way, it will definitely put you in an awkward situation whereby you will be forced to start chasing your losses,  if you even had an extra fund to continue, but that is actually the end game of every money you have at that moment, because by wanting to get back your losing, you lose even more, so having a source of income or even more is really not the issue, what is really the issue is gambling what you cannot afford to lose, that is the problem most gamblers face.
735  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Africa Football Discussion || Current Topic: AFCON 2023 on: January 30, 2024, 03:14:56 AM
Ivory Coast had other plans today and am wondering where they were all this long... Senegal have been forced to play extra time from a winning position thanks to some clumsy goal keeping from Mendy which called for a VaR review and Hosts got a late minute penalty.

And from what I can see, Senegalese players look tired and have nothing more to give and hoping the script won't be an exit for the defending champions...

Let's go team Mane, show us why you were crowned Champions 🥳
I know that Senegalese will be sad at this moment but I am somehow happy that they have exited this year African Cup of nation's competition. I am not an ivorian rather I am a Nigerian but I am seeing Senegal as a big threat to the success of Nigeria in this tournament that is why I was so prayerful that Senegal should be eliminated.

Now that the defending champions are out of the competition I think Nigeria is able to face the rest of the countries that are still in the tournament. But at a point I was somehow pitiful at Mane because I so much love his nature as a true African man. But then I have nothing to do because I cannot love him more than Victor osimhen.

Truly indeed I'm happy Egypt, Senegal, Algeria and Cameroon are out but the main issue is now Morocco who has really been excellent especially since the last World Cup but I will not write off any team, Nigeria should be cautious and give their in match in order to win and hope the keeper injury wasn't serious because we  can't to Uzoho, I always wonder why they continue to pick him.

Though I actually thought Senegal would win the  game after their early goal and especially since they have been playing well in this Afcon but Ivory Coast ended up winners in the penalty shoot-out, now let's see how far Ivory Coast can go, I guess we can call them the underdog base on their form in this Afcon
Actually I never saw this coming, the African cup of nations favourite knockout at the round of 16 by a team that have performed so badly like cote D'Ivoire is  very shocking, but as a typical Nigerian that I am, it's a thing of joy to us that out major threat are out of the competition, though their are still stronger team like Morocco and mali in the competition and the team i usually called the dack horse of the tournament which is Burkina Faso but all in all this year African cup of nations is truly an afcon to remembered.

This particular game shows that if Nigeria or any other good top African team that really want to go all the way in this competition, then they have to forget all the hype and work their way toward it, instead of believing in their hype.

A friend of mine sent this message to me. How true is this? Using money to bribe the Angola team to perform better and win the competition.

~
Angolan bank, Banco Keve promised to give the Players $9,600 each if they beat Nigeria.

Angolan diamond company, Social EP promised to give the team $250,000 if they beat Nigeria.

Angolan Player, Gilberto says they will beat Nigeria at the Quarter Finals. He even boasted that the Super Eagles are not a threat to them.

Infact, an Angolan bank, BAI gave each Player $6,000 for beating Namibia 3-0 in the AFCON Round of 16.

A Telecoms company, UNITEL, as well gifted each Player an iPhone 15.

In case you've forgotten, Angola denied Nigeria FIFA World Cup qualification in 2006.

Friday is the day. Lets see what the outcome would be

I really don't think it's bribery, what I think of it is that they are trying to motivate their player's with such huge amount of money so as to spur them to Victory against the super eagles of Nigeria, and if my memory serves me right this has also happened in the Nigerian national team in the past when the super eagles were promised some series of bonuses if they can achieve the desired result at that particular time, so it's normal.
737  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Burkina Faso, Mali and Niger don dump ECOWAS. on: January 29, 2024, 06:25:43 PM
As I see this news e no too surprise me because na the three countries with military ruler, and when military officer dy rule a state, make nothing surprise you because dy can do and undo, no be inside Burkina Faso last year wey one doctor go criticize the military government say dem no dy fight terrorism well, as dem arrest am, dem train am for few weeks, and come send am to the Frontline to go fight terrorist since the military no dy do anything for him eye. So why am I saying this? I dy tlk this tin to tell you say military government dy very unpredictable and brutal with their Ways of doing things.

Concerning if the three countries go fit cope without ECOWAS? Yes dem go fit cope, remember say their was a time in history wey all this bodies dem no been dy, but dy were still surviving, though e go worry dem at the beginning base on the fact say this their generation no dy use to it, but with time, the countries and their citizens go adapt to it.

739  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can gambling addiction lead to domestic violence? on: January 29, 2024, 03:51:38 PM
Yes  of course, most gamblers restort  to violence due to frustration of their constant losing, and most times they tend to transfer the aggression to their wife at home, which can lead to him beating her up,
Another thing is that he may demand for some money from his wife when he has exhausted the fund he had with him just to keep funding his gambling harbit, and if she refused, he might decide to restort to violence just to get the money from her. So their are so many senario that can make a gambler engaged in domestic violence.
740  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Africa Football Discussion || Current Topic: AFCON 2023 on: January 29, 2024, 03:27:10 PM
Super Eagle has only conceded a goal out of their four matches played so far in the tournament. This could be our best AFCON match so far because our defense and frontline are strong, coupled with we have a good goalkeeper.
Nwabali has not really been tested because our defense has been very good. Nwabali was subbed out of the game because of an injury from the rough play of the Cameroonians, we await to hear good news about his return because we cannot trust Uzoho at this stage of the competition where the competition is getting more serious.

I liked the seriousness I saw in our players yesterday against Cameroon, they bullied the Indomitable lions all through the game. Pressed hard and were aggressive. If we can be that serious against Angola, we will beat them.
Nwabali is not looking to me like a very good keeper but then he's a preferred choice than uzoho , so far our defense has been really fantastic in their performance and have made it that there have been no serious threat to test nwabali to the ebest of his ability but so far I think he will make a better combination with the Eagles defense line than with Uzoho, the few minutes Uzoho played yesterday shows how chaotic he could be if he were to have played in the full time .

I'm hoping the Eagles maintain the strength around their defense and possibly improve it so they can see their selves to the finals even though they haven't been so outstanding in all their performance but so far they have been making progress.
From own point of view Nwabali is calm with has a perfect timing of aerial balls though he had not really been tested to determine whether he is a goalkeeper, however as the team progress surely we would know if he is a good goalkeeper though credit goes to the Super Eagle defence line who had been very solid and covered Nwabali well, I think as the team play the quarterfinals and playing against Angola a formidable opponent definitely the abilities of Nwabali would be well tested onthe condition that their defence would not be solid that day of course I dout if their defence line would slack thus wouldn't give any room for complacency and Nwabali may not be well tested throughout competition till finals.
Nwabali have been very good too me by his few outing in the colors of the Nigerian jersey, knowing a very good player is not that difficult, because what I initially expected us to look at is his calm presence in goal.
In as much as the defense has gotten all the credit they deserve you can't discredit nwabali under the pretext that he is not been really tested, that he is being cover by the defense, which to me is not true, just take a look at the few minutes uzoho spent in goal and how things were at back due to the fact that they start missing that calm presence nwabali brings, so to me he also deserve his full credit just as every other member of our defense.
