721  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Illegal mass adoption on: July 26, 2020, 01:08:35 PM

https://cointelegraph.com/news/crypto-scammer-sentenced-by-south-korean-authorities

comparing the years of sentence and the amount involved?i believe that this is not fair.

Muhammad has capital while these scammers only lure and take money from people.
The koreans were not named Mohammad. Your name being Mohammad adds up the years.
The man running the bitcoin ATM was not registered anywhere and was using cash from undisclosed sources. He was not just running an illegal business but was also laundering money for others. And with the suggestive name, he might have also been involved in funding of terrorism from the US.

Court Rules Bitcoin Is a Form of “Money” Under Washington D.C. Money Transmitters Act
https://btcmanager.com/court-rules-bitcoin-money-washington-dc-money-transmitters-act/

IMO, this news could be huge news for the entire crypto community I think this will bring us one step closer to mass adoption. What do guys think?

This could legalize bitcoin but it would also bring more regulations relating to it and would be taxable and counted upon income and other taxes.
In my opinion, bitcoin use was never a threat in an open society like US but it's categorization as money would provide more power to the authorities to control it. Though the consequences would be clearer with the passing time.
723  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Could this be the best time to invest? on: July 26, 2020, 12:50:06 PM
It largely depends on how you approach the market and what were your strategy in the past. Some economist do say that you need to buy on a bull run and sell on a bear. It would be also a good time to buy if you plan to sell it short and cash in quick profit. But you also need to be ready to bear a quick loss if the market suddenly changes it's direction.
724  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What more can a project teams wish for ??? on: July 26, 2020, 11:51:04 AM
It's always for the best interest of the project if they use top exchanges to raise fund, there will be better results

1. Enough money for future developments
2. High trading volumes and enough liquidity
3. Exposure to more investors and whales and even traders

what more can a project team want?

This is why I've Zero my mind that serious projects will always aim for top exchanges, the results are already clear as crystal

I've too stopped searching for projects anywhere else. If I'm investing, it would be on the top exchanges IEO, it's even a lucky draw to buy IEO on binance. I don't bother investing in IEO and ICO anywhere else. If any of those projects were promising and made it to popularity, I can still buy them on secondary market with the profit I've made from other IEOs.
725  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Dev and team, show some care on: July 26, 2020, 01:58:27 AM
Most of the times these projects are those that are badly executed. There are rare events of a successful project crying out about bounty hunters.
Though filtering out multiple users and plagiarized content are good for bounty hunter themselves, it's not good to blame every participants for some bots and scammers. Bounty manager ofcourse has a greater role to act both as a bridge between devs and participants as well to keep bots and scammers out of the campaign.
726  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The difference between a true Crypto gambling site and a Fiat/Crypto site.. on: July 25, 2020, 08:49:17 AM
In Primia Facie, I consider a gambling site true crypto site if it doesn't have an option to fill out user info. Get a username and mostly an email and start playing. They won't be asking you to verify your identity except when they absolutely need to. That would be perfectly fine to normal crypto users who are there for fun. On the other hand, a fiat gambling turned to crypto would ask your KYC the moment you initiate your first withdrawal.
727  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Steve Wozniak Sues YouTube Over Twitter-Like Bitcoin Scam on: July 24, 2020, 04:14:15 AM
This has been going over for a year with different crypto based personality and prominent tech figures. Many legit looking channels with thousands of followers have been giving fake bitcoins with an unrelated real video as a frame. There are plenty of such videos presenting CZ from binance and Elon Musk. I have on multiple time reported those videos and Youtube also takes them down after a while.
728  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum remains the king of altcoins on: July 23, 2020, 04:13:25 PM
Ethereum would still remain the most popular altcoin for years to come. It's still one of the most actively developed network with a large number of active developers. They are working to improve the network to make it much faster and cheaper so it could be easily used as a utility token. For the same reason, it's supply would not be limited and the new generation would be limited just as to not bring scarcity in market.
729  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ETH Testnet finally less than 2 weeks, ETH Dominance 10%...Are YOU ready? on: July 23, 2020, 10:08:18 AM
I am glad to see the power that Ethereum shows. Two years ago everyone said that Ethereum is old without any future, that it will be replaced by Tron, EOS or NEO. Now look at these all Ethereum killers and who is really killed  Cheesy Cool.
You should never take any FUD that has already created by ethereum haters. We know that those haters will feel so bad when ethereum has already started to go to the moon again. Let those crap copy cat platform of ethereum will be eaten by the new coin that offered a new thing.

The only reason why EOS and Tron is popular is due to the congestion on ethereum network and it's relatively higher fees. If these issues are addresssed with the new update, people would not even look at EOS and Tron which are both controversial coins with higher degree of centralized control. Ethereum is one of the most decentralized coin and that's the reason why it still holds the number two position.
730  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Strengthening Property Rights of Bitcoin on: July 23, 2020, 09:36:31 AM
Property rights are a much different matter in China and most of the world. Almost all of the chinese land belongs to the CCP while most of the people also don't own the house they live in. There are ownership by the state and also by the commune but most of the immovable property are not inheritable private property. Even some of movable property have state or mixed ownership. For crypto things gets even complicated as the state need to decide whether they are property or not.
731  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why bitcoin never a ponzi on: July 22, 2020, 11:50:32 AM
Bitcoin itself is a decentralized open source coin and the price for it is decided by the market. Ponzi are pyramid scheme where the older investors profit only when new investors can be brought. People may argue that bitcoin is a ponzi due to it's speculative nature and has no value on it's own. But unlike ponzi, bitcoin is here for quite a time and has seen both rise and fall in price. It's value is not determined by any rules but due to it's demand and supply. The value of bitcoin lies as a trust-less P2P coin which is trusted by all parties due to it's integrity.
732  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to Protect Yourself from Fraudulent Bitcoin Giving on: July 22, 2020, 08:46:33 AM
The first thing people should realize is there are no free money. You need to contribute one way or other to gain some. Airdrops are a way to increase the social presence and advertise about the project but never expect anyone to send you some money without a reason. There were some smart contract that initiated coin distribution after receiving some coins but no legit system would ask you anything above $1 to get an airdrop.
733  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Wirex becomes principal member of Mastercard. on: July 21, 2020, 10:57:37 AM
It's good to see a another crypto member being added to mastercard member. Even though a centralized network, mastercard is still the easiest way to withdraw your cash worldwide. Mostly useful for withdrawing funds while you are travelling aboard. But with regular problems on compatibility with the card provider and ATM machines, it is still not a 100% reliable solution. And the fees are large. We need crypto companies to jump into a collective ATM network.
734  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Twitter hacked account. Details about what really happened on: July 19, 2020, 09:39:28 AM
So, they are basically saying twitter employee has the access to email, password and 2FA of users. This is an absurd negligence from the twitter team and they should be held responsible for any loss occurred. Social engineer would get access to peoples personal things not that of it's employees. There's more than social engineering involved.
735  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Has "Decentralization" become a buzz word these days? on: July 18, 2020, 06:34:28 AM
In reality nothing is truly decentralized. Bitcoin which arguably is the most decentralized cryptocurrency by distribution in an upper estimate is owned by just 1% of world population. Every other coins distribution are smaller. If you go to count minders and nodes, that would be tiny as negligible.
The decentralized word most of the newer chain uses means decentralization in the manner of operation. i.e. use and transaction not being controlled by any single entity.
736  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Scammers favorite tools on: July 17, 2020, 08:41:35 AM
Scammers uses catchy and popular concepts to get easy money from gullible investors. They don't do much work and just copy pastes others work with some slight change. Other popular scams except the ones mentioned by OP at the moment are
1. Masternode coins - 90% of them are just scams.
2. Exchange coins - Don't believe any exchange coins as good exchange would always bring their exchange first and issue the ICO on their own exchange.

737  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: July 17, 2020, 08:26:13 AM
Even though the league may be completed with current format, it would be much more difficult to host UEFA and Europa league as teams need to travel by air and land to different places to satisfy the requirements. With uncertain European league and team members getting diagnosed with virus and Liverpool already wining the trophy there are not much sentiments left on the rest of matches. It's still a competition for not being regulated.
738  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Three phases bounty distribution on: July 17, 2020, 07:47:36 AM
It's a good thing that few bounty managers are now limiting participants for bounties but another problem I'm bounty projects are dumps, one way that bounty managers can help to avoid dump is three phase distribution, many would probably hate this but c'mon we all want good $$$ from projects we promoted right? Controlling dump this way works, what do you think? I've seen bubbalex doing this and even COVIR that plan to use bitforex to raise funds plan to distribute tokens in three phases

Do you think limiting a distribution to 3 phases would help to prevent a project from dumping? I personally don't think so. A good project will always survive the dumps regardless of of 3 phase distribution or not
Definitely, but some project are more vulnerable to dumping because maybe their volume in exchange is relatively low. I think it's not a problem if the developers decide to make it three phase as long as its still giving the promised reward.
but as far as it goes that's the developer problem to solve the dumping and they might come up with their own solution.

It's not as painful for bounty participants to receive tokens in phases than to see the prices of the token they hold dump before they are able to sell it. I'm all good with phased issuance if the project believes giving all at once would dump the price. But what we should also not forget that it's not generally the bounty participants that dumps the price. If there were enough interest, investors would be easily buying the at most 5% of coins which they are getting at a price below the ICO price.
739  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Poker site on: July 17, 2020, 07:36:33 AM
SWC poker is the market leader in online native crypto poker. They have a large number of players that keeps playing and a lot of table are open at any moment. There are a number of choices on games and amounts that suits your playing style. Sportsbet provides traditional fancy poker games for crypto players. 740  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Decentralized Cloud Storage: Is it worth it? on: July 17, 2020, 07:17:06 AM
Decentralized cloud is one of the most effective way of using blockchain technology. We've been using torrents for quite a time now and we know how it works. All we need is incentive for seeders and encryption of data for clients. If you can just use you space and bandwidth to generate passive income, a lot of people would jump in and as we have a lot of people seeding the same thing, we could achieve larger speed than SSD storage just from mass using HDD.
