721  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: want to build a rig (total newbie at this!) on: January 11, 2014, 12:25:11 AM
I think the new Asus R9 290(X) īs are a good investment but the standard fan is bad
(can we maybe manually change it like a cpu-cooler ^^?)

Do you already have a mainboard? with the "Asrock H61 Pro" board http://www.asrock.com/mb/intel/h61%20pro%20btc/
you can build your rig up to 6 grafikcards thats nice Wink

So with an investment of 7.6BTC you'll be able to generate 6.6BTC
and that's not even taking power consumption into account.

Why do you think i will never create more than 6.6 BTC? If i run the machine i will get very little amounts maybe , but it create amounts. And so after  i reached 6.6 why do you think i will not create more? after one day of running i will have 6.60001 BTC maybe thats ok it increase Wink (maybe i have a naive thinking, i just wanna understand)
And After the difficulty is extremly rising i could change to an altcoin, right? I could mine peercoins and exchange it to bitcoin so its also increasing.

You're better off speculating with some Scrypt mining, buy some GPU's they will especially hold their resale value!

I was searching already for scrypt-mining chips but there are nothing or do you know some? I would really buy pci-scrypt-mining-cards not radeon r9 290 but i think thats future music ^^

723  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Upgrading my Tower, does this components fit? asrock h61 pro + radeon r9 290 on: January 11, 2014, 12:01:19 AM
Hey
i have a coolermaster Tower with an old Asus A8N Sli Deluxe Mainboard.
Now i wanna start a little bit with mining. So i start with 1 grafikcard and can later upgrade to 6 grafikcards.
I  just posting my order: (i dont see a pic do you? http://www.pic-upload.de/view-21911924/mining_start.jpg)

Im not sure yet if i should directly try to mine some bitcoins, or a more profitable scryptcoin Wink
maybe i get my money back in soon but thats not my biggest aim, i just wanna understand the process and support the network Wink

I hope the components fit together.

724  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Problem with cgminer on: January 10, 2014, 01:37:10 PM
try do run it in the same directory without file path.

open cmd as admin,

cd to rhe cgminer folder ( cd A:\miner\cgminer) for example

run cgminer.exe --scrypt -o stratum+tcp://pool.YOURPOOL.com:2300 -u username.worker -p passwort

hope it works Wink

oh you need cgminer version 3.7 because only this version supports scrypt.

greetings

I dont see the Error Screenshot !? Whats the Error? just not recognizing the GPU?? -> Install OpenCl Drivers.

In your comand you call --scrypt twice.. is this correct? Wenn i start cgminer i just need it once before the Pool link.

Pls post additional infos

Do you guys think if im buying now a terahash miner i will get my mone in in 2-3 months?
The problem is the delivery delay and many scam sites but i think http://bitmine.ch/?page_id=919 looks legit and there is a real company behind.
But they never delivered the dezember batch so im afraid to buy now the march batch ..

What do you recommend?

727  Other / Beginners & Help / cex.io how long can i mine with my GHS ? on: January 06, 2014, 08:22:06 PM
Despite all warnings i buyed 1.43 GHS on cex.io with namecoins.
I mined 0.000594 btc in the first hours.
Now my question: How long is it guaranted to mine on this site? and what would happen if the website goes down?
I think after one year i have the money in and could sell my ghs or hold it forever Wink
Yeah maybe to hold bitcoin will bring me more BTC but the day will come and i mined More as i invested and then i can sell my ghs for profit or keep mining and get more milibitcoins but i dont have a loss. Or is there a failure in my thinking?
