I've lost track and am confused, did he say he has silver and blue erupters on hand or coming in? I don't want to order before he has them and end up with black or red ones. Huh

723  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] US/North American Bitfury sales now open ***full prototype pics*** on: September 15, 2013, 11:24:12 PM
I really feel the need to add some October boards to my August Start Kit.  But my calculator tells me that unless I have them by October 7 they won't ROI.
So am I looking at this wrong?  There are 179 boards left to sell so I guess there some with the same fear.
And what about those who bought the 300+ boards.  Regrets now or will Dave & Co. still make it worth our while to purchase?

Never have Regrets, forget about ROI and just enjoy the ride.  Wink

Yeah, just don't consider it a problem. It is not your money, so it is not your problem. Undecided

Don't forget the units shipping currently are either Silver or Blue.  Both elusive colors not previously offered by BTC Guild Smiley.  Gotta catch 'em all!

BLUE!!!!! aaaahhhhh!!!!! Not Fair!!!!

Let me know if ya have Blue!

That's the hook - if you order 10, you'll probably get at least one blue one......

Nah. If you order 10, you get a box of the same color.  Which is nice if you're color coordinating a 10 port hub.  Hehe.

How about adding a "Preferred Color" entry on the order form?
726  Other / Meta / Re: Why do guys use female Avatars? on: September 15, 2013, 07:40:35 PM

In video games, I always use the female character, if i'm going to spend hours looking at the ass of a character, I prefer it to be female.

After playing WoW for five years, i get that. I guess in never considered a technical forum roleplaying
727  Other / Meta / Why do guys use female Avatars? on: September 15, 2013, 07:33:16 PM
I tend t think of the person i'm responding to as being their Avatar. I'm sure I've called several guys girls based on their avatars. Are they just trying to confuse me? or are they closet crossdressers? Grin
728  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: don't mine at BTCGuild on: September 15, 2013, 06:54:59 PM
This is like the boy who cried "Wolf". even if they were at 51%, they wouldn't do anything bad. Besides, they would have to maintain that level for a while to be a threat. Briefly hitting it means nothing.

Mine where you like, for the reasons you like, it is a free world. Shocked
729  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: BTCGuild is a 51% attack risk on: September 15, 2013, 06:18:31 PM
It seems to me it is not healthy for the Bitcoin community to have BTCGuild currently with 43% of the entire network hash rate and still growing.  This can be a real risk to the entire blockchain if if pool becomes compromised.

Get over it. Nothing anyone can do about it. Roll Eyes
730  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Want a BFL PayPal refund? PM me. on: September 15, 2013, 03:25:42 AM
I'm wondering if it involves using the telephone, i lost my voice recently. I think it is vacationing in Bermuda. Roll Eyes

"Alms for the poor!"

That one made some of my adult beverage come out of my nose when I read it!

Great work!

Funnier'n Hell!

Smiley
heh, glad you liked it. Somebody took exception to it the other day. they were being literal. Besides, some people in NYC make over $50,000.00 a year begging for change, so how does one define poor. personally, i had the scene from Fiddler on the Roof in mind when i put it in.

Just wait til I start offering combo packs of 9 Erupters, 1 Fan, and an Anker Hub (jk) Smiley

I was going to ask if orders of 10+ would include hubs and fans? Smiley

I'm not very impressed with these new 9+1 plastic pieces of junk, by the way.

I was thinking as i was writing the previous post that Eleuthia could probably get a good quantity discount on Hubs from china and pass a little on to us. But as wonky as the Hubs perform, support and returns would be murder. I wouldn't wish it on anybody. Getting these things to work is partly Voodoo and i'm running out of chickens. Someone would really have to design a port from scratch to be robust enough to support Erupter mining. They need to be over engineered. What is currently available is wearing out way too quickly and of poor quality.

When will "off the shelf" orders be accepted?
737  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Not all Erupters detected, patience? on: September 14, 2013, 09:56:24 PM
First off I'm a newbie and I apologize  Grin

Got my first Erupters today, a total of 14.  I'm running MinePeon, with 3x MCM hubs.  All erupters are plugged into front hub port with fan pointed directly on them.

I have Wifi dongle / First hub plugged into Pi onboard

Connected to first hub is 4x Erupter, 1x Artic Fan, and 2x addition hubs
2x hubs have 5 Erupters in each.

Cgminer is only seeing 10 devices, however if I connect one of the erupters it is not recognizing directly to Pi it finds it.

Am I doing something wrong?

Have verified that the hubs have enough po power the erupters? Which erupters aren't being seen? Is it the hub with the other hubs plugged into it?
738  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Why isn't there a single purpose bitcoin hardware wallet ??? on: September 14, 2013, 09:47:09 PM
To be truely useful, wouldn't a hardware wallet have to be Wifi enabled? or maybe Data enabled like a smart phone? Would it need it's own copy of the blockchain? Would it keep it up to date so you don't have to wait 10 minutes for it to Sync before making a transaction? Huh
739  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [330'000 GH] BTC Guild - Pays TxFees, Stratum, MergedMining, Private Servers on: September 14, 2013, 09:31:32 PM
Aaargh.  I don't know where I could possibly put 50 more of these.  The bad thing about them is that it's starting to cost me more for the hubs and fans than it costs for the BEs....  BTCG is going to be the first 400 Th/s pool - just from all the block erupters it sells...  Wink

I hear ya, I'm trying to kick my Erupter habit. I had 4 awaiting hubs. today i got two new Hubs in from china. they are like the anker 9 port ones, but not anker, $53 free shipping on eBay. two week delivery time. i was hoping that these 2 would be the last hubs i bought. hmmm....

For those that are curious, one of the chips on the MB lit up like a white LED and then poof, a puff of smoke. I doubt that anything else was damaged, but i won't know for sure until i get another MB.
