721  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Isn't bitcoin Money? Aren't there only 2 ways to earn bitcoin? on: April 14, 2017, 03:16:30 PM
I am here not for very long time, and I see that all topics regarding earning bitcoins are very hot, people love disusing earning bitcoins.

I am confused. As a human being, we all know how to make money.

Isn't bitcoin Money?

If bitcoin is Money, then the ways to make money are the ways to earn bitcoin, isn't it?

In a word, there are only two ways to make money/bitcoin, legal and illegal. Wink

I do love this saying, "In a word, Bitcoin is MONEY".

Bitcoin is a currency but it is not money. In order for bitcoin to be considered money the state must recognized it as a legal tender but until now there are no declaration of bitcoin as a legal tender or an official medium of exchange and thus it can never be considered as a money. Though there are countries that have adopted bitcoin but they treat bitcoin as a commodity with a value that is a feasible form of payment.

Isn't currency money?  For me, USD is a currency, HKD is a currency, and both HKD and USD are MONEY.

No, currency is different from money. Money stores intrinsic value within itself, fiat currency possesses buying power bestowed upon it by the government. Meaning a USD bill does not have a real value, it is only a piece of paper with writings and drawings, it only has a value because the government says so.
722  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Daily use of bitcoin? on: April 14, 2017, 01:54:51 PM
Buying stuff online from retail online merchants. Purchasing of online services as well. That's about it.
Yes you are right. At this time overstock is the best online retailer that accept bitcoin as payment system. But the only problem is time of the delivery. If we in far away country, of course it will need more time and the cost will be more expencive. I hope there are local online shop in my country that accept bitcoin.

Bitcoin is not concerned about that kind of problem. As long as bitcoin performs its task about payment then that's about it, the delivery time of the store is the store's scope. On the other hand, in the near future, it is probable that online shops worldwide will accept bitcoin as payment. So let us just wait for it, that's the best we can do for now.
723  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Number of Bitcoin users. on: April 14, 2017, 12:31:38 PM
Recently, a comprehensive cyrpto currency study was conducted by the university of cambridge.Although,it has revealed various aspects of bitcoin such as total number of wallets used, number of unique users of crypto currency wallets, but finally they have said that it is impossible to know precisely how many people use crypto currency. What do you think? Can we atleast get an approximate number of  total Bitcoin users world wide?

They said it themselves. It is impossible to get the accurate number of crypto currency users. They can get an approximate number of users but it will stay as approximate. They cannot even state the accurate percentage of margin to the approximated number. In short, it is very impossible to know the exact value. Well unless bitcoin will be converted to a complete centralized crypto currency.

725  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Reason Bitcoin will always be #1 on: April 12, 2017, 03:58:25 PM
Is because the name "Bitcoin" is the best name for a crypto-currency.

No other name will be as good.
By this time yes i think about this thing too, that no other crypto currency will replace bitcoins by this time,But will it remain as is forever?Bitcoins maybe beaten up by more cyrptocurrency that will be launch in the future,Bitcoins will just survive if they are able to go with the flow of developing age.But yet still bitcoins will be worlds number 1 cryptocurrency up to date

There is a possibility that bitcoin can get replaced by any other currency in future only if the new currency would be holding better benefits then bitcoin and if that happens then people will surely switch to that currency leaving bitcoins behind.

This is harsh but undeniably true! There is a possibility. This is unavoidable if bitcoin will not evolve and improve itself. For example, the elapsed time in order to confirm transactions. If the confirmation will take long, then others may use alternatives such as using fiat (especially if the transaction is a face to face payment). The confirmation time of transactions is impractical today because people prefer instant. If a new currency will adopt the characteristics of bitcoin and then implements the improvements (such as the one mentioned earlier), the tendency is for people to shift from bitcoin to the new one.
726  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin money? on: April 12, 2017, 03:14:41 PM
Yet, we can say that the money if there is already a country that officially use the bitcoin, and use of the bitcoin still not more than 3% of the total population of the Earth.

Actually there is. Japan already accepts bitcoin as a form of payment in many stores there. They even approved a bill for that which was approved last April 1.

And for the record, even though no country uses bitcoin officially, as long as you can use it as payment you can say that bitcoin is a money. That is because bitcoin hold a value that is directly convertible to fiat (money) so basically, bitcoin is a money.
My country philippines accept bitcoin as payment I think last month ago or two months ago the BSP or the banko central of philippines released an article about bitcoin and the details is "bitcoin as payment". Its not a problem the total population of bitcoin user it is less or more. The important is bitcoin gives opportunity to us to earn money . And thats good to say bitcoin is money because if earn bitcoin I also earn money.
its very good news that bitcoin now accepting in some country slowly slowly as payment method and i hope bitcoin will be acceptable sooner around the world.

Yes this is just an beginning and in future we will see many more countries that will start accepting bitcoins as payment method and also as a currency and that will attract those people who have not heard about the bitcoins.

There is no doubt about that type of scenario. Due to the start of acceptance of bitcoin by different countries, we may expect that more and more countries will accept bitcoin as a method of payment. Soon we will expect that more news will emerge about a new country that accepts bitcoin or new multinational businesses will start to accept bitcoin. These type of news will appear month after month or even week after week. We will witness the fast growth of bitcoin.
727  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Japan's Electronic Giant Bic Camera officially started accepting Bitcoin on: April 12, 2017, 02:16:19 PM
Japan's consumer electronic retail giant Bic Camera has began to accept bitcoin payments on friday. The event has been covered by large number of media publications world wide.Interestingly, banners of bitcoin were found in the event every where.Bitcoin,Bitcoin,Bitcoin.Its nice to see. Here is the link below.
             https://news.bitcoin.com/japan-bic-camera-starts-accepting-bitcoin

Japan is clearly utilizing bitcoin's capability. With this huge adaption of bitcoin, no doubt that Japan will lead the world in terms of utilizing bitcoin to its full potential. The news was a great news and surely, it will greatly impact bitcoin in a positive way. That, for me, is just the beginning. More and more great news will be reported about the usage of bitcoin. Let's just wait and bitcoin will surely get the popularity it deserves  Smiley
728  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why should people use Bitcoin? on: April 11, 2017, 01:30:37 PM
Using Bitcoin brings about extreme speed in transactions which in never possible before its existence. To put simply, it provides almost perfect convenience to transaction speeds but that in itself comes with a fair measures of security issues which can be solved by being more cautious.

Talking about "extreme" speed, not all the time bitcoin will give you an extreme speed in transactions. Because it's one of the issue right now, many are experiencing problem with this matter. But for me, people should use bitcoin right now because the chance making them rich in the future will be gone if they aren't going to get into it.

Yeah everyone is facing an big issue with the delay in confirmation time and even the transaction fees have become very high and not all will like that but apart from that there are many best features attached with bitcoin and that attracts people to use bitcoins.

Yes we need to set aside it, because there are more good things about bitcoin and we don't need to focus with it. That is just showing that because of the delay, many people now are starting to use bitcoins and despite of those problems, many are sticking into it. Another thing, instead of the price to drop because of those problems, it keeps on increasing.

I don't think that price will drop massively only because of the delay in confirmation time and even if it drops it won't drop permanently and will rise again in next few days so I don't think it will have huge impact on the declining the price of bitcoins.

Of course it is not going to happen just because of it. There are even more important things aside from that confirmation problem. And people should believe and use bitcoin because of the big market cap of it that makes the price higher. If they want to become rich in no time, they should use bitcoin as their main investment.

Yes and people who have faith in the potential of bitcoin will not treat delay in confirmation time a major issue as they very well know that it will get resolved in future and they will concentrate on how to have more amount of bitcoins which can make them rich in future.

Because a person that sees good opportunity on bitcoin will not treat that problem as a main deal. Because they still can see a lot of potential that bitcoin will always be the best investment and it will be accepted by many business entities and investors in the near future.

Bitcoin will surely become more popular and powerful in future when new companies and businesses will start adopting bitcoins and that will take price to higher level and that is the reason more and more people have started to invest their money in bitcoins.

Definitely. That is the crucial market that bitcoin must conquer. If this happens, the government may compromise bitcoin and start promoting bitcoin.  Popular and powerful is an understatement it this happens (exaggeration on my part Grin)
729  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: No matter how much we love BTC, confirmations take way too long! on: April 11, 2017, 01:01:41 PM
If crypto can not make transaction faster than credit card then eventually fail. also should consider usability of wallet. we need at least mobile wallet fast and secure without scam.

You know , now we are struggling with slower transaction confirmation due to massive transaction every now and then it just means that we are now populating Smiley to compare to cards around you know cards is one tap to machines can easily get money or fiat. I guess we should stop comparing it since it has different features.

Well that is the reason why people continue to compare them, because they are different. This is unavoidable since the other one have advantages over the other and the other way around. The best thing to do now is to combine the advantages of bitcoin and the credit card. The slow transaction confirmation is impractical to some businesses so this should be prioritized for its further improvement.
730  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin make Banks disappear? on: April 10, 2017, 04:18:29 PM
No, bitcoin can't disappear banks because banks is more useful than bitcoin for example in online purchases banks can process the transaction fast with low fee unlike bitcoin you have to pay the high miner fee in order to prioritize your transaction and wait for a block to confirm your transaction.
Also the government is controlling the banks, they have support from the government and the society. In my own opinion

Banks, one of its purpose is to support the economy of a certain country. It invests (let us say 70%) its available funds to a company or have it loaned to farmers or whatever. With this, the bank directly helps the country as a whole. It supports the economic development of a country that is why banks will stay no matter what. The speed of transactions or having low fees does not concerns the existence of bank, its purpose and role is the main concern. Also, the government will never let banks disappear because of bitcoin. Even though bitcoin surpasses fiat (a big IF and seems unlikely), the government will create a bitcoin bank. And banks still exist.
731  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If YOU were Satoshi, what would you do now? on: April 10, 2017, 04:07:18 PM
If I were Satoshi Nakamoto I am probably lurking in this forum. Reading threads. Laughing at trashy posts and feeling bitcoin-expert users. Or maybe constantly staring at the value changes of bitcoin and enjoying the feeling that " yeah, I freaking invented bitcoin! My son grows very fast!"
732  Other / Off-topic / Re: should i start my own bitcoin forum? on: April 10, 2017, 05:27:52 AM
i'm thinking of starting my own bitcoin forum,  this one seems outdated and i want to make a better bitcoin forum than this one,

will everyone join my forum?    any advice?

theres not many bitcoin forums out there,

i also thought about starting a bitcoin blog, but i'm not much of a writer,

maybe a bitcoin site about news, but its like a blog and i don't enjoy writing,

so, a forum is the only thing i thought would be fun,

anyone support my idea?   give me ideas

Technically, we cannot dictate you if you should create a new bitcoin forum. Most of the replies are just opinions. What if the one you created boomed and became successful or what if it is the other way around. All are just WHAT IFS. We cannot predict what might happen so your decision must be firm. Take note also of some factors before you start your own forum (if you will) such as:
1. What does the users' needs and wants?
    - Knowing what users' needs and wants will help you in creating a wonderful forum that may attract people.
2. Do you have the manpower in maintaining your forum?
    - Having enough manpower is crucial since the forum will run 24/7 and maintaining the quality and moderation is a must.
3. How will you advertise your forum?
    - Since it is a new forum, you need to advertise it so that you will have members.
4. Do you have the  time?
    - A forum that runs 24/7 needs administrators and moderators. If you will do that task then you must have all the time in doing so. You must invest
most of your time in administering or moderating the forum.

It is still your decision and whatever you decide, I wish you a good luck.

734  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC Ban on: April 06, 2017, 03:10:47 PM
All people deserve internet freedom, and banning bitcoin at this point of time is almost equal to banning internet freedom.

Well I think they will not ban bitcoin without a just reason. And freedom does not mean do anything, it comes with limitations and responsibility.
735  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC Ban on: April 06, 2017, 03:04:27 PM
If the government found out that many people using bitcoin for purchasing illegal things or doing illegal transaction then the government has the right to ban the coin,

Fiat money is used for the exact same thing, do they ban money ? That's not a reason I guess

I also think that using bitcoin to purchase illegal goods or using bitcoin to support any illegal activities  is not a reason to ban bitcoin. Bitcoin is a digital currency and no one can  control people on how they will use it. Using bitcoin for illegal acts does not make bitcoin illegal. Let us take note that bitcoin is also used for good things such as for donations or alike, this, however, does not make bit[Suspicious link removed]d as well, it is in the middle, neutral. Bitcoin will not be treated illegal based from how we use it.

when too many people using bitcoin and not paying tax the government will surely find a way to ban bitcoin, bitcoin is giving advantage for the user not for the country

That's true though.

Surely the government will not ban bitcoin automatically just because of this, they may implement tax for the transactions using bitcoin first. The government will not take the last resort first, regulating bitcoin will also help. Though I agree that this is true but I do not think that they will use this as a reason to ban bitcoin in their country.
736  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC Ban on: April 06, 2017, 02:53:00 PM
What will cause a government to ban bitcoin in the country? In what circumstances will that be justified by the government?
And how can government actually ban bitcoin? I mean they can ban people selling or buying stuff with bitcoin in the country, can they actually ban people from holding bitcoin?

A government can ban bitcoin if they saw any threat to their economy because of bitcoin. We cannot really say the exact reason because each government of different countries have their own laws. If they find it (bitcoin) unconstitutional or whatever, they may ban bitcoin in their territories. When they ban bitcoin, they will not accept any transactions via bitcoin or using bitcoin, they cannot actually ban people from holding any bitcoin since they cannot monitor every citizen of their country.
737  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will bitcoin be used to support terrorists? on: April 06, 2017, 02:08:24 PM
On March 8th, Cheollima Civil Defense(CCD) released a video on its website claiming:” Han Sol, the son of Kim Jong Nam, and two other family members were met quickly and relocated to safety. “ And they receive bitcoin for financial support. This is something nice to do. BUt what if bitcoin be used to support some bad organizations, even terrorists? Is this already happening?

We cannot control others on how they will use bitcoin just like we cannot control people on how to use fiat. Since bitcoin itself has its value, this type of usage is inevitable. Since you asked if bitcoin is used to support terrorist or any bad organization, I will tell you that nothing will change. Did anyone asked "what if they use fiat to do bad?", obviously fiat and bitcoin are the same at some point but no one questions the usage of fiat as far as I know.

Is this already happening?

Dude, you placed a date in your post

so why are you asking if this is already happening? Isn't obvious that it is already happening?
738  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How would bitcoin coexist with digital fiat in the future? on: April 04, 2017, 03:56:05 PM
So in the future, fiat currency will become digital only and cash will completely disappear. Credit cards will also disappear. People will be implanted with chips that contain all their information and they'll need the chips when buying or selling goods

Dude, those implanted chips you are saying only exist in a Sci-Fi movie. Stop relating our real future with those in such movies for those are merely wild imaginations.

How would bitcoin coexist in the future with this method of payment?

At the beginning, bitcoin is already coexisting with the fiat money so even if bitcoin gets accepted worldwide, it will be the same.

Will it get accepted as a second currency?

Actually, I personally do not know. And as for my opinion, it has no sense at all if it will be treated as a second currency. Bitcoin will still be bitcoin. We can use it in any transaction so why treat it as second currency?

What about other crypto currencies or bitcoin forks?

What is your clear question regarding those? I cannot answer such question correctly/accurately if the question is unclear. It will just raise confusion.

740  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What do you like best about bitcoin? on: March 30, 2017, 04:25:33 PM
The thing that I like about bitcoin is that it has a possible good future. Due to the continuous emergence and growth of bitcoin across the world, bitcoin shown its possible future and it's not that shady at all. Add the fact that bitcoin has anonymity characteristic, fast transaction processes, and the increasing number of people that accepts bitcoin, no wonder that it is the best.
