7201  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Now FREE to JOIN] IPL 2019 Prediction Pool and discussion on: April 30, 2019, 03:20:14 PM
It is raining very heavily in Bengaluru. Looks like the match will be washed out and the points will be shared between RR and RCB. Not much of a concern for the RCB, as they are already out of the next round. But this can mean that RR can never qualify for the playoffs.
Almost game time. The crowd is filling in, hope Rain won't spoil the match. Play should have started unless bad news for both the teams particularly RR. Anyway, Almost no rain now, ideally matches will begin around 9 P.M. Chinnaswamy Stadium has the best drainage yet waiting for battle.

I am watching the match LIVE on Star Sports 1 and it looks like we are at least 45 to 60 minutes away from any possible resumption of the match. A drizzle is still going on. The bad news is that after 9pm, we will start losing overs, at a rate of 1 over per 4 minutes. RR players look very anxious. If this match ends as NR, then there'll be a 25% deduction in their salaries (if I am not wrong, the teams which fail to qualify to the playoffs need to introduce a 25% haircut on the player salaries).
7202  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Status of WEX (World Exchange Services) on: April 30, 2019, 03:15:06 PM
I had 3.5 LTC in my Wex wallet, when it went down (plus some debt tokens). For those in the US and EU, it may not matter much. But here in India, it is almost twice the average monthly salary. Is there any chance of getting these coins back?
7203  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: labcoin lawsuit on: April 30, 2019, 03:10:31 PM
Almost 6 years have passed and still there is no indication that the victims will be getting any sort of compensation. Fortunately, I didn't lost any of my coins to this scam. But the guy who introduced me to the world of crypto-currency lost some of his precious coins. It is sad... this incident also follows a very familiar pattern... with the scammers remaining free and the victims losing their hope of getting a refund.
7204  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: There should be a wikipedia page of casinos that accept bitcoin on: April 30, 2019, 03:05:12 PM
A simple list indexed by country name and name of the casino on wikipedia. Who wants to help?

Being an active user of Wikipedia, I would say that it is not possible to create such an article there. Such a list will be immediately flagged as "promotion" or "advertising" and after reviewing by the admins it will be deleted. Hence I would say that there is no use in spending our precious time in creating such an article or even a sub-section of an existing article.

Something really important happened today....

Temporary ODI status has been granted to Namibia, Oman, US and Papua New Guinea, as per the results of 2019 ICC World Cricket League Division Two. Both Hong Kong and Canada lost their ODI status.

http://www.espncricinfo.com/story/_/id/26612338/namibia-png-secure-odi-status-wins-hk-oman

PNG had earlier lost the ODI status after the 2018 World Cup Qualifier, while Namibia last played ODIs during the 2003 world cup.
Interesting. Good to see more and more countries joining the awesome world of Cricket which is why this is a positive step forward though it remains to be seen how well they perform in the future.

Especially happy about US and Namibia.

These teams will be forming the tier 2 of ODI cricket. From next year onwards, there will be two tiers in ODI cricket. The first tier will be composed of a total of 13 teams (12 test playing nations and Netherlands). They will form the ICC Cricket World Cup Super League.

ICC Cricket World Cup League 2, which is the 2nd tier will be composed of 7 teams (Nepal, Scotland, United Arab Emirates, Namibia, Oman, Papua New Guinea, United States)

7206  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Strategy to overcome losses .. on: April 30, 2019, 02:57:36 PM
Gambling addiction is a big problem, most gamblers are aware that they are losing and yet they kept on playing hoping to make up woth their losses.

That is why we must set limits and moderate our selves when gambling. Never make it a habit, find other diversions and hobbies for you not to get addicted.

When we can prevent ourselves become addicted, we can prevent losing money too especially if we can set limits in the gambling game. That will be a good solution for us to overcome the losses in gambling. But as you know, many of us have difficult to stay away from gambling, and they spend money in the game without thinking about what will happen in the next hour.

It is so true. I personally know a couple of guys who lost all of their life savings due to their addiction to gambling. Here in India, gambling is illegal. So most of the gamblers use underground casinos, which are not that famous for being fair. So when some user is unable to pay back his debts, they use muscle power to extract the dues.

South Africa may be the team that is going to surprise everyone this time. I still remember the semi-final between South Africa and Australia 20 years back. The match was tied, but Australia progressed to the finals due to the higher run rate. Till that match, everyone were expecting that South Africa would be the team that was going to win the trophy.

7209  Economy / Speculation / Re: Price of 1 Satoshi rise to $1? on: April 27, 2019, 02:01:31 PM
1 Sat = $1 means an exchange rate of 100 million USD per bitcoin. That is something which is very unfeasible, under any circumstance. Right now, the total world wealth is estimated at around $300 trillion. In case the exchange rate rises to $100 million, then the wealth from Bitcoin alone will be 7 times the total world wealth.
7210  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How do you know if a gambling site is scam or not? on: April 27, 2019, 01:45:11 PM
Reviews are available here and they are seldom biased. Regarding the new sites, you need to be careful about the house advantage and I would advice you to deposit only small amounts (at least initially). But then, there are so many established gambling sites around and I don't think that there is a need to go after these smaller ones (unless they are offering really crazy joining bonuses).
7211  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: April 27, 2019, 01:41:19 PM
Today I saw a news report about the possibility of West Indies being the dark horse in this edition of the tournament. What do you guys think? For sure, they have some great players and on a given day they are capable of beating any of the teams out there. Can they win the trophy, just like what Sri Lanka did in 1996? Look at their players: Russell, Gayle, Bravo, Lewis...
7212  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2019 Cricket World Cup - Discussion & Analysis on: April 27, 2019, 01:36:36 PM
@JSRAW we need just cricket lovers because they can manage better then these professionals and this can bring some more excitement in game professionals need money and lovers need enjoyment.

BCCI has improved a lot during the last 2-3 years. When the businessman N Srinivasan was the president, then he did a lot of things to harm the popularity of the game. And it resulted in the relations with other cricket boards getting damaged. Things have improved now, under the CoA. The current administrative body cares a lot about the game.
7213  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Now FREE to JOIN] IPL 2019 Prediction Pool and discussion on: April 27, 2019, 01:28:13 PM
I agree. I am confident that SRH will defeat RR, but they will need to keep winning if they wish to qualify. The same applies to Punjab.

On the other hand, RR needs to win this one if they wish to keep their chances alives though their chances seem slim at this point.
So there will be real battle between IPL teams for their next two matches so it will be like do or die so interesting to watch those games. My pick for the top 4 will be CSK,MI,SRH and DC what are your predictions guys.

Right now CSK, MI and DC have almost secured their spot for the playoff. So the fight for the remaining one spot is between five teams: SRH, KXIP, RCB, RR and KKR. And right now it is virtually impossible to predict which one of these teams will secure the spot. I would say that a slight advantage is with SRH, as they have 4 matches remaining compared to 3 for the others.
7214  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: LTC or ETH, what good to own now?? on: April 27, 2019, 11:52:38 AM
I would prefer Ether at this point of time. Litecoin is a good option, as it is a very old crypto-currency with a good reputation. But if we compare the technology behind the coins, then ETH emerges as the winner. Also, ETH still maintains the absolute monopoly on blockchain-based distributed computing platform, as the competitors such as EOS are lagging behind by a good distance.
7215  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Death Penalty to ICO Scammers! Are you favor it? on: April 27, 2019, 11:48:37 AM
As we all know still exit scam ICO's are victimizing investors including me in my frustration I wish these people be killed or if busted they must sentenced to death Penalty are you favor of it.

I am completely in favor of it. Know what? In third world nations such as Nepal and Cambodia, a contribution of as little as $1,000 can save the lives of little children who die of treatable diseases such as Malaria and Measles. And here we have ICO scammers, who rob tens of millions of USD from the unsuspecting investors. With that sort of money, a lot of lives can be saved. So what they are essentially doing is causing the death of poor people. They deserve the death penalty.
7216  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Get $40 stellar very easily on: April 27, 2019, 11:45:46 AM
Definitely not worth the risk. Here in India, the government is coming up with more restrictive regulations for dealing with crypto-currency. Back in 2017-18, they sent income tax notices to more than 100,000 individuals who were suspected to be crypto users. Now I am not going to upload my ID documents and risk being called up by the IT department just for $25.
7217  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Satoshi Nakamoto is so great on: April 27, 2019, 11:43:16 AM
Yes. Satoshi is great. He is great not because he made so many people millionaires, but I would consider him as a great person for his invention of a decentralized currency. Those who believed in Bitcoin during the earlier stages became rich, and that is just a byproduct of the invention. His aim was not to make a few people rich. His aim was to create a currency that can be used by everyone.
7218  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Stop badmouthing new projects on: April 27, 2019, 11:40:40 AM
The problem is that there are a number of good projects being listed currently for ICOs. But the problem is that many such projects, with much potential failed after their listing in the markets earlier. A project needs a minimum of 3-4 years to stabilize. Here the problem is that we don't know whether this development work will continue for the next 3-4 years or whether it will become dormant after the ICO.
7219  Economy / Economics / Re: Banks against the crypto on: April 27, 2019, 11:35:21 AM
I live in India, and the state of cryptocurrency is really very poor here. Many prominent crypto exchanges like ZEBPAY has shut down here a year back, the reserve bank of India has made it very difficult for the buyers and sellers like me to trade in cryptos.

Here is an article from today morning which I was reading about cryptos  - https://economictimes.indiatimes.com/news/economy/policy/government-department-discuss-draft-bill-to-ban-cryptocurrencies/articleshow/69048480.cms

I think even if some countries are in favour of it and are growing the economy fast, in India and many such countries the state of crypto is really bad and banks governments and the whole economic system is against cryptos. the road ahead is very tough man.

I am also an Indian citizen and I saw this coming long back. Indians have a tendency to misuse technological innovations. Bitcoin was heavily used during the demonetization (in 2016) to store black money. Also, there are reports of urban users purchasing contraband from the dark market websites, after making payments with Bitcoin. But the Indian government is too stupid to understand that it is not technically possible to ban crypto. It is not like banning a certain website or suspending the bank account of someone.
7220  Economy / Economics / Re: Will Amazon accept crypto if Bitcoin skyrocket again? on: April 27, 2019, 11:31:48 AM
Big companies will accept BTC if it will be less violent than now or using some trusted payment processors who exchange BTC quickly for USD/EUR etc.

May be you meant "volatile" instead of "violent". But I don't think so. The volatility will not disappear over-night if companies such as Amazon and Ebay starts accepting Bitcoin. In order to remove the volatility, we need to decrease the proportion of the coins, which are currently in free-float.
