isn't that what we want?
we want the world on board,
Do you want Mike Hearn's proposal to let miners vote to confiscate the block rewards of other miners, or mandatory blacklists?

no thats where i draw the line.

but i fork it, i don't leave it.

everyones money is on the line

we're not about to pack up and buy up darkcoin to 400$ because war is ugly.

You mean monero I think.

ya, no i'm going with the bitcoin fork not go hide in some shitcoin.

its as if Mr Dump it fast only puts big walls up after a dump so poeple place asks then he removes his asks

he wants YOU to waste your bitcoin keeping it low. or he wants to buy your coins low

which ever it is

also i would like to add that when you can't look at stamps volume and compare it to the volume stamps use to see 6 months ago, its a well known fact that volume has been spreading out onto new exchanges and funds coming online.

Care to explain? I'm lost here by what you are intending to say

for a short time stamps had most of the volume

then new exchange come online and poeple moved to these exchanges

so now stamps doesn't have the same market share it use to, so it sees less volume these days.
7231  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: August 20, 2014, 04:02:31 AM
its truly weird

there is no bad news

yet someone keeps dumping large sums of bitcoin all at once, and seem to TRY to keep price low right after, why?

7232  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: August 20, 2014, 03:57:22 AM
Yep, I could sense a big dump was coming.

will it bounce back like its done all day?

probably not, b4 now we one whale had painted a series of higher lows [while selling coins to himself], this trend is broken, epic knife coming everyone run to darkcoin Ripple!

FTFY  Cheesy

yes the same whale everywhere at the same time, and no one else contributed to this...

You do realize a single whale can have multiple accounts on multiple exchanges, right?  That's how they arbitrage, as well as fake the market volume.   Grin

whale must have infinite fiat and different colors of fiat too

bullish?

good drop! most volume we've seen all day.

also the idea of "co-opting" bitcoin is silly we can all see the code.... and thats all that matters, who cares if USA or CHINA or a group of hackers, holds more, point is everyone can clearly see they played by the rules and won.

You say it is impossible, but I was able to come up with a co-opt strategy in 10 minutes. Keep reading.

Let's say that a powerful actor want to disrupt bitcoin (or any blockchain / 'mining' based technology).
He can build mining facilities, careful to not disclose that they are associated and can act in accordance.
With time, he obtain the vast majority of the hashing power.
Then, it start to inhibit transactions at random.
At this point users realize that the system is unusable and try to switch to another similar system.
The actor repeat the process.
The only solution at this point is another technology shift in these matters, with the same benefits of bitcoin but without his (by now perceived) drawbacks.

hashing power will ALWAYS service us the moment it doesn't we ignore it

here an example of using volume to understand a situation

looking back at the last 10 days we can clearly see the bubble popping and the first good attempt at catching the resulting knife.

you can see that when the bubble popped at ~266$ their was a big dip in price without much volume ( everyone let the knife fall  )
but now at 80-50$ rang we are seeing HUGE volume spikes when their is any kind of movement up or down.
I think if we are not already at bottom, its not too far down...

Even if they manage to completely co-opt Bitcoin development, the global insurrection against the status quo will not simply evaporate. It will simply move on to a different venue and all the resources they put into neutering Bitcoin will be wasted.

wait a min.
"Even if they manage to completely co-opt Bitcoin development"
isn't that what we want?
we want the world on board,
that in itself will satisfy the " global insurrection against the status quo "

what more do you want? control of the world? ya  cool join the club and buy some bitcoin.

Have a look here http://morgana.unimore.it/bertocchi_graziella/papers/cooptweb.pdf for what, in my opinion, he mean for co-option.

no i get it, they will try to, co-opt bitcoin and "rule it" how they see it.

i dont know who rules bitcoin right now, nor do i care.

point is we all want to.

thats what gives it value.

you can't just move to a new venue, thats admitting defeat and then going to play another game.
