7241  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Did someone make money with Steem (https://steemit.com/)? on: November 03, 2017, 06:57:37 PM
Steemit is supposed to be a social website where you create posts and earn money when they're good enough and are catchy.
The thing is I feel it became something way different than what it was supposed to be.
It was supposed to give anyone who just writes good and in style discussing interesting stuff some money on the side.

But it turned out to become a whole different story. It's now all about a few whales here and there who you'd have to literally show some love to if you want to get credited as they'll upvote you. It just became pathetic to watch.

Plus once you join, you can write a simple topic introducing yourself and get a few dollars for it which is good. Done ? Write another amazing topic and good luck getting more than $0.50 on your own (community I mean).

I'm not the only one who says this. I'd say it's a total waste of time. It's good that I didn't spend a lot of time there otherwise I'd regret it more.
Maybe a waste of time for you but for some people who do earn some decent amounts on the site will definitely say the opposite thing regarding on your own experience. This is indeed a social media site on where you do get paid on your post just like on most people being said here.Knowing off that we do have different skills and there are some who are really born to have the knowledge on making catchy articles.
7242  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Time to Bear the Loss? on: November 03, 2017, 06:05:29 PM
If the investment is made after doing sufficient research then I don't think that there should be any reason to worry about. I have the experience when I saw about 35% loss for my portfolio but since I had a strong research to back my investment decision, I stood with my investment and within a period of few months I made around 10% to 20% profit for the same after covering that 35% loss so there is strong research behind it then don't worry.
If you do really have trust on the coins you have invested in then we should really not worry at all.Going back in the situation where I did almost lose up or hanging on negative for almost 50% which I do already worried but I did really decide to hold on until the end and just like do or die.If you can face the risk then you should not sell at all and just wait for the recovery.
7243  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Newbie - Trying to transfer bitcoin from wallet to vault on: November 03, 2017, 04:55:49 PM
Thanks for the replies everyone. I figured out the issue. I was putting in a dollar amount to be transferred when I needed to put in the amount of bitcoin that I wanted to transfer.  I looked at the Trezor and will be getting one. Thanks for the advice.
Good to hear at that you did able to trace out whats the problem and also better to find out another wallet which you do have the possession of your private keys because storing in your bitcoin on exchange wallet is somehow risky compared on storing it either on a desktop or offline wallet but yet this thing would really depend on peoples preference but we are still giving some advice for more security of your precious bitcoins.

Lock this thread since you already got the answer you do seek for.
7244  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin Price Moving Towards $7500, Market needs a crash on: November 03, 2017, 04:01:56 PM
Bitcoin price in India is hitting all records and now the price is moving towards the level of Rs. 500000 and its the signal of price correction. I think the next few days are crucial and we should be ready for a crash.

In the bull run, the market captures positive news and ignores small negative news. When people starts selling to make profits, the prices goes down and every negative news are highlighted which can lead a crash.

Market Needs Crash

Market crash? It wont be possible as of these days seeing on the strong support into bitcoin. We might seeing now bull run which most people do see it already as a bubble.Even myself too believe on such thing. There wont be a crash but would really have price corrections later on because we do know on whats the thing drives the price of bitcoin as of these days which is on the fork event with bitcoin gold and bitcoin 2x.
7245  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Did you ever convince or encourage someone to invest in Bitcoin? on: November 03, 2017, 01:58:55 PM
Bitcoin has been awesome and will always be awesome. We, who have been involved in Bitcoin since the very early days understand this very well. However, for the laymen, for the people who don't really understand the technical aspects of Bitcoin or those who only watch the mainstream media are skeptic about Bitcoin. Since, all they hear in the News is how Bitcoin can be used for illegal activities and how it offers complete anonymity (common misconception) to people to do what they need on Internet.

Have you ever convinced or encouraged anyone to invest in Bitcoin and did you have success? Of course, since we know that we are giving a good advice, so we would usually advice our own family members or friends about this.

In the past few months, I encouraged some of my friends to invest in Bitcoin. They had a lot of questions about it from technical perspective and I helped them understand. They invested in Bitcoin and are very happy with the returns. And now this information propagates and more people will get involved in Bitcoin.

In my humble opinion, as a Bitcoin enthusiast, we can help understand people the positive aspects of Bitcoin. The price of Bitcoin is still in the very initial stages and those of us who really understand what Bitcoin offers, know that Bitcoin Price is only 1/10th of what it's worth right now.

What are the most common responses you get from laymen about investing in Bitcoin?

Some popular ones I receive are:

1. "Oh, it's already too expensive, I cannot afford to buy it."
2. "The governments don't regulate it, why should I invest in it?"
3. "It's an illegal currency and only cyber criminals use it."
4. "What backs up Bitcoin? For example US Dollar is backed by Trust (all time favorite response Cheesy), but what backs up Bitcoin?"
5. "The market is way too volatile to invest."
6. "You can't really use Bitcoin as a currency."
Those lines you did mention are common and would definitely being said by most people who you do tried out to explain or convince someone.Sometimes it is really frustrating and I do lose my temper on explaining things but ended up on having a useless conversation and you did actually waste your time on explaining to someone doesn't really have any interest at all.Going back in the past I did really tend to tell it to other people but all of those people did reject me that's why I don't really care for now.
7246  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Have you tried Poker-mining.com? on: November 03, 2017, 08:19:42 AM

Thanks for that. Now can say I'm pretty sure they are not honest.

Thing is the real mining company would receive "brand new mined coins" and distribute them to their customers. Which is not this case (they most probably use some bitcoin mixer to mix customers deposits and use them for payout - aka PONZI ).

Checked all three above mentiond TXs and I can see non of the sending address has never ever received a brand new coins.

You can compare it to e.g. kanopool payments
This is kanopool payment tx. https://blockchain.info/tx/0267ded16c02179a8a6c9cb16e0ce51777fd280081ae1871a70ccbf2ac420387
as you can see the sending address 1PwzEjXdhGDqe7gxYYKbCxsd4UiAoRoW4j is receiving brand new coins (prove of mining) and then distribute them among customers.

Sorry to say but you'll be very lucky if you get your deposit back.

EDIT: If you really want to try couldmining the only legit companies I'm aware of are: hashnest, bixin and BW.
But have to warn you to not expect any profit just from the mining. The income comes from trading the hashes ( you need to constantly buy/sell them to make some profit. Mining rewards are just bonus).

Very well said. As I have tried to follow the track those aren't came from new coins being mined which signifies that it does use bitcoin which either being deposited and or being mixed already. This symbolizes that they are not actually running a legit mining farm and even on its own site name isn't really convincing at all. Poker? to mining bitcoin? Senseless idea. All cloud mining sites are scams if there are legit then it wont really be profitable for long term.
Is this is for real? Cloud mining is a scam? Well, i guess maybe it is or maybe not but i don't get the idea right now why they had to be a scam in the first place since i have read some article that rig mining, gpu mining, and even cloud mining is being listed in there. This is quite confusing or is it that you meant to say is not all cloud mining are scams? Kindly enlighten me if i have less knowledge about it since you ought to say all of it.
Its really being listed since there are really cloud mining companies which do really have physical miners and can really be seen by its investors which we can say their legit ones not on those so-called and just pretending companies that they do own one. Since you are already a Sr. member I'm sure you are already aware on what I'm saying since you do have the experience and the informations related to this without being explained too much.

7248  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: INVEST IN ALTCOINS BEFORE SEGWIT2X, NOW OR LATER? on: November 02, 2017, 02:14:50 PM
Hi guys,

I would like to have your sentiments on the current market. It is obvious to me that altcoins will recover after the fork as people will cash out some BTC and Segwit2x to buy cheap altcoins.

So the question now is to know when will be the best time to invest in altcoins for great profits. There are still 2 weeks to go until the fork, so there may be more room for altcoins to go down and Bitcoin to take dominance. My personal guess it that we will see altcoins deep a bit more before the fork as there are 2 weeks left.

I would appreciate having your views on this topic!

Have a great day Smiley
I would tell you the things that I would do on this upcoming fork.Usually I do buy altcoins when it is already 3 days left before the fork. Most alts are possible on their possible bottom prices and it is effective for me since I have done this habit on buying on the last 2 forks on BCH and BTG.The main thing here is that don't buy carelessly.Always choose up the best altcoin in the market that can possibly recover up later on.
7249  Economy / Economics / Re: Central of the Philippines Recognizes Bitcoin on: November 02, 2017, 12:44:48 PM
This is good news for Filipino it will help those not have a regular working job right now. It is good source of income while finding regular job. But many people in the Philippines  did not know bitcoin and how to used it, they always think that bitcoin is scam or another type of modus.
Well I think the regular job is also important along with the bitcoin because the country is dependent on the crypto currency and the bitcoin is not that easy to be ignored so all the countries are now investing in the bitcoin and in the future the best of the all the currencies will be the bitcoin the future will be dependent on the bitcoin in the coming days.
All currencies would be dependent on bitcoin on coming days? Its impossible and it wont really happen and government wont really allow such thing to happen. It may progress, adopted and legalize but going to the point on where it would place currencies then its an another story. Philippines did already recognize bitcoin since they do already allowed an local wallet which do offer bitcoin services.
7250  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining coins on OLD CELLPHONE on: November 02, 2017, 11:34:43 AM
It claims that it could be a good option compared to mining with CPU, but i7 2600 also is a very old fashined one.
It seems meaningless for profitability.
Even on PC mining bitcoin isn't not really possible and I don't know whose the one did have this kind of idea to use these old Samsung s5. I would like to know the total hash rate of this rig  Grin  I would rather believe it would be possible on altcoins but yet its not profitable at all and you are just really wasting up your effort and time on having this kind of idea.
7251  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Blockchain.info wallet big bug on: November 02, 2017, 09:24:35 AM
You just said that when you login the site or the login page freezed and there's no error alert pops up? Like theres an email authorization alert?
If you have the seed or the private keys on your wallet then you can still recover it. Let us know if you still have it.
My login pase is ok, when i logged in i got popup screen to update wallet i click continue and i enter second password, after it i am waiting for new screen with 12 mnemonic words but it not shows me it and in 30 seconds site redirects me on main login page. I try lot of browsers same result.
You only need to input those 12-mnemonic words, the question is are you able to write it somewhere? How many bitcoins you've got there? If there is no bitcoin on that wallet, don't waste your time from recovering that account as it's very easy to create another wallet.
As you have observed op did really try to recover that wallet then big chances that there still some bitcoins left on that wallet for sure. The situation being mentioned isn't really a bug after all because you might forgot your correct password or have some problems on logging the right informations. The best thing to do is being suggested above which the only way to recover that wallet is on the 12 phrase needed.
7252  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: To Greed or to play it safe. on: November 02, 2017, 05:43:51 AM
As we all know come 16th November there are two coins, one we know as Bitcoins, other Bitcoin2x, initially I was using a coinbase.com wallet, but before Bitcoin cash fork I moved it to electrum wallet. Now my question is with this fork all but going to happen, coinbase.com has said it will credit equal Bitcoin2x and in electrum It automatically doesn't happen. In coinbase.com if I take a chance I don't have private keys and that's scary but the greed is there to. What should I do be greedy and go back to coinbase.com and post btc2x shift back to electrum. Or any way I can stay in electrum and do it. Need your advise and suggestions, something that can be easily be done and not at risk to my coins.

I have received also the email was sent by coinbase regarding on the bitcoin2x which they would really credit equivalent on the bitcoin that you stored in on those times. This decision would really depend on you if you can able to handle the risk on using coinbase  on that time which you don't have the private keys of that wallet or would decide to move out into electrum which you have the full access on the keys. This is actually peoples preference or decision.
7253  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Investing advice on: November 02, 2017, 04:30:26 AM
So I have .01 BTC and I want to use it to earn more. I have a good understanding of how bitcoin works. And I understand the basics like wallets, keys, encryption and the like. But when it comes to decoding the internet of investing "Machines" I'm at a loss. I found a really nice site that did mining contracts that was paying out well. (coinpeak.biz) Then the service disappeared off the face of the planet. So I was hoping you wonderful people could share tips, tricks, and things you have found that work well when investing and making bitcoin without mining.
Appreciate it.
Sorry for your loss mate since this is really a common thing for newbies who do fall out for these kind of scam Ponzi cloud mining sites. You did able to decide to put up on the site because you are being deceived on the good payout and now you do end up on getting scammed.I can say such thing because I did experience such thing when I was still a newbie wayback before. For now you did already learned a lesson. Don't be greedy since all earnings on bitcoin does really need effort and hardwork.Theres no easy money on here. Trading would be suited on that kind of capital but yet it wont really be an easy stuff.
7254  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: Freebitcoin? Is this legit? on: November 02, 2017, 03:16:25 AM
Anyone have any experience with this website freebitcoin.in?

They give you 30 satoshi every hour, potentially more if you roll a high enough number. They let you play a game of hi or low to double it. Additionally for every roll you get tickets towards a lottery. Seems like easy BTC and something to do when you are bored.

This is one of my foundation faucet when I start earning BTC, This is very trusted website. And also this site teach me how to gamble in dice game that made me explore other dice game site like primedice. Over all, This faucet site is 100% legit!
Back the old days this site made me remember on first encounter with faucets same on your situation too it did able to teach me on how faucet works and to gamble with small amounts. It isn't a dice game but a hi-lo game which they do have similarities though. This site is legit and I can really assure on that one even up to these days it is still solid operating the one thing I do know later on that they do have high house Edge compared on other gambling site.
7255  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: is it possible? on: November 01, 2017, 02:32:43 PM
This can happen, but it takes a long time, because to realize all it takes the process and government involvement, currently Bitcoin is still a debate in the governments of countries that are worried about the existence of Bitcoin.

It won't happen.  One of the biggest obstacle would be Bitcoin being decentralized.  If you check the current news about countries and Bitcoin, most country that recognized Bitcoin as currency or mode of payment already run into trouble of regulating it.  They (government) need to centralized the authority or else things will get out of the governments hand and that is what the government does not want to happen.  I believe the technology will be adopted but bitcoin will always be use as an alternative.
This is the main thing why bitcoin cant really be considered to be a main currency knowing that it is a decentralized stuff which it cant really be considered to be adopted and become legal. It would really just remain as an alternative same as you said. It may progress but it would really just  remain on its place with its own purpose. For now this thing it isn't possible at all.
7256  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: What is the future if bounty campaigns? on: October 31, 2017, 01:28:41 PM
It is not a secret that most for now ICO is a bubble and there is too many projects trying to gather funds this way. I expect this bubble to dump in the next year and then we will be able to see the real amount of ICOs. This will definetely affect the bounty campaigns on this forum. What are you expecting? Will the bounty campaigns change their rates (not only in btc but also in usd value) or they just won't be affective and devs will give up on them?
I'm curious to hear the opinion of mature users of this forum that seen the developement of such campaign activities.
You cant stop people to launched their own ICO. Scam or Legit ones they do always have the bounty allocated always since its always being part of their marketing plan. The thing to be concerned here is those bounty hunters will have the higher risk on joining useless bounty campaigns because of the numerous or large number of shitty ICO existing as of now in the market. The more ICO the less possible successful on making money on those campaigns.
7257  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Still believe in ICO ? on: October 31, 2017, 01:02:27 PM
The number of successful ICO's are decreasing dramatically.  Just wanna know about successful ICO's in the fourth quarter of 2017 and if anybody still believes in  ICO's.
I agree on the fact that successful ICO's now are only few compared to those who do fail. Some of them are just copying ideas from one another and turns out to be saturated already and investors doesn't really like that stuff or the community to see an another copy cat project from others. If you do really research into things it is somehow tiring considering on the total number of ICO do almost pop outs on daily basis.
There are more than 3 000 ICO's on market already and most of them are scams, offering some shady and scammy project, with crappy whitepaper and unknown developers.
This is what I'm saying there are lots of ICO's as of now and as an investor you would really have the hard time on selecting the best possible project which isn't really copying on others. Filtering them would really be a tough or challenge for us.I would say 2% of them would only become successful. Not like on previous years which most ICO do still really worth to invest on unlike now on these recent days.

7259  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How Can We Make Sure Bitcoin Never Ends? on: October 31, 2017, 01:18:42 AM
Some people like the Brazil Central Bank Chief called Bitcoin a Bubble & Pyramid Scheme, how can the bitcoin industry prove this wrong and make sure bitcoin never ends but grows bigger?
Bitcoin never ends? Its not possible since nothing on this world do last forever which all things have do its own end but somehow on bitcoin we can really make it to exist even more longer as long theres a strong community support or really have the demand then we can say that it would somehow managed to last longer than we do anticipate.Regarding on government blockage and other peoples criticisms then it cant really be avoided specially if they would able to see a new thing that boomed up that they less anticipated.
7260  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which ICO & Tokens are legit to invest? on: October 29, 2017, 06:34:03 PM
Hi,

I have about $3000 to invest in Bitcoin Projects. I see so many tokens & ico projects here.
As Newbie, I am not sure how does it work?

Can some bitcoiner guide me in right direction?

Thank you
No one can guide you on the right direction since we are all just the same as investors on where we do seek out on the most potential projects in the market as of now. $3000 investment isn't bad. ICO can possibly give good potential returns if you did hit up the right one but the risk on losing money is always there specially if we did choose the wrong one. This is why as an investor we should really be keen on selecting and making the research about it.
