7241  Economy / Economics / Re: Can Bitcoin Beat Banks? on: April 23, 2019, 04:26:07 PM
There is really no need for any bad blood between crypto-users and bankers. It is possible for Banks and crypto to co-exist and under such a scenario, both the sides are going to benefit. Look at the stock market. The banks are closely involved and this in turn has proved beneficial for both of them. Same strategy can be adopted for crypto.
7242  Economy / Economics / Re: Craig Wright sues a podcaster for saying Craight Wright is not Satoshi Nakamoto on: April 23, 2019, 04:24:05 PM
One of the main reasons why Bitcoin SV is removed by Binance CEO. Craig Wright as we know claims that he is satoshi, however cannot prove it's claim. He has even started attacking people on twitter who keeps on saying he is not satoshi, I mean it is pointless, why would you even be butt-hurt if you haven't even proved that you are satoshi. Filing a case for because of it is getting way too far.

He has lost the respect of the crypto users and by now his reputation is permanently tarnished. Even if he proves that he has something to do with Satoshi (which looks highly unlikely), I don't think that he'll be able to clear his name. Anyway, I have a feeling that we should ignore this loser. Why we should give him any publicity?
7243  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin Sparks Imminent Crypto Bull Stampede with 44% Gains in 2019 on: April 23, 2019, 04:20:25 PM
Sooner or later, investors who hasn’t dive in to crypto market shall follow suit. And these will reach the current bull run into a new heights. They dont want to get left behind.

It won't be easy this time. Because the mainstream media has painted Bitcoin as a "bubble" after it lost 85% of the value in 2018. Even if another bull run occurs, people will always keep the previous correction in mind, and may be reluctant to put their money in to crypto. A lot of convincing may be needed to encourage the common people to put their faith into BTC again.
7244  Economy / Economics / Re: Will Amazon accept crypto if Bitcoin skyrocket again? on: April 23, 2019, 03:44:24 PM
Amazon is going to be least concerned about the exchange rate of Bitcoin. If that was the case, then they could have accepted BTC when the exchange rates peaked in 2017. The truth is that they have such a monopoly right now in the online shopping sector, and they feel no need to attract new users. I would say that their user-base has almost saturated.
7245  Economy / Economics / Re: IMF blog - How to Make Negative Interest Rates Work on: April 23, 2019, 03:41:05 PM
This is going to be good for us. If the banks charge us for storing fiat currency in our savings accounts, then more and more people will try not to use fiat currency. When the inflation is in positive figures, then the negative bank interests can never work. The option is to store as low amounts of fiat as possible, and to increase the proportion of assets such as Bitcoin and bullion.
7246  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are we not abusing decentralization? on: April 21, 2019, 04:47:38 PM
A lot of these newer coins aren't even decentralized, we have stuff like EOS and Ripple which kind of go against what bitcoin stands for.  They still might be great investments but they are fundamentally different from the early days of crypto.

I have heard a lot of criticism against Ripple. I agree with your argument that it is fundamentally different from the other cryptos. I never had XRP in my portfolio, because it looks a lot over-priced. And on top of that there are doubts about the total supply and circulating supply. Don't know much about EOS. Actually surprised to hear that it is similar to XRP.
7247  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Now FREE to JOIN] IPL 2019 Prediction Pool and discussion on: April 21, 2019, 04:44:36 PM
Steyn is on fire!!!! And CSK is struggling against his firepower. They lost two very important wickets (Shane Watson and Suresh Raina) in the first over. Just proves that the RCB strategy of continuing with the under-performing bowlers was wrong. They should have replaced Mohammed Siraj and Umesh Yadav much earlier. Now it is too late for them to qualify.
7248  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: April 21, 2019, 04:35:44 PM
India is dominating test ranking because of fast bowling not because of batsmen. The three name you pointing out don't play test match. Dhoni is retired. Kedar Jadav is not fit for test. Sikhar dhawan already dropped from test team. India is very good team in one day but not unbeatable so get out of your bubble. always be humble and don't underestimate other teams. otherwise it's gonna be humiliating for you after world cup lol.

India is dominating the rankings due to their dominance in all the departments - batting, spin and pace. Their best performances occurred in South Asia, where the conditions are more conductive to spin bowling. But as you said, none of the current test playing teams (12 in total?) are unbeatable, and that is applicable to India as well.
7249  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you guys read daily crypto news? on: April 21, 2019, 04:30:28 PM
I still hold a lot of alts and BTC in my wallets and I need to check the news every now and then to be knowledgeable about the future prospects of these assets. But it is tough to manage both the full time job and holding cryptos. And this was definitely one of the reasons why I converted many of my altcoins to BTC last year.
7250  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What's your best Privacy-Oriented coin? on: April 21, 2019, 04:28:01 PM
I am not a frequent user of the darkmarkets, so I don't know much about the anonymous coins. That said, I have heard a lot about Zcash and Monero. There was a time when these coins were regarded as the successors to Bitcoin. But they lost a lot of value in 2018, and nowadays hardly anyone talks about them. Another interesting coin was Deep Onion. I purchased some Onion from Cryptopia and later sold them at a small profit (in 2018).
7251  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Airdrop is more profitable than Social Media Bounty ? on: April 21, 2019, 04:25:47 PM
I have also participated in dozens of airdrop campaigns and none of them gave me good rewards. The only campaign that I found somewhat good was the RepMe airdrop. The tokens that I received from this campaign are worth close to $10 (which is still a very small amount). Either I was terribly unlucky, or I was late to the scene.
7252  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bounty that paid you some good reward on: April 21, 2019, 04:23:57 PM
The last bounty that paid me was the Serve project. I was able to earn about $ 1,000 and immediately got $ 500. The second half went into a drawdown and fell 2 times. Now I will wait for this token to grow.

I have heard similar stories here, but I don't know why I was so unlucky with my bounty campaigns. Tell us a bit more about this campaign. Did you converted your tokens to Ethereum or Bitcoin immediately after you received them? Also when did this campaign started, and for how long was it active here in Bitcointalk?
7253  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How do you determine potentiality of any Altcoins? on: April 21, 2019, 04:21:05 PM
To tell the truth, I get most of the information regarding the alts from this forum. If something goes wrong with the project, then the users are quick to point that out. This information may be difficult to find in crypto news sites, because some of them have a habit of not publishing important news, in case that is detrimental to their interests.
7254  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Never buy too much coins because you would eventually forgot gosh on: April 21, 2019, 04:19:01 PM
If you are holding many altcoins just keep track on each one of them, this happened  to you because you refused to keep track on them, I have no problem checking on my coins most times

Let me ask you one thing. Let's say you are holding 100 different tokens. Is it possible for you to check the news regarding all these coins on a daily basis? This is one of the difficulties that I faced earlier. And in case you are not tracking the latest developments, then you may miss out on opportunities for profit booking or to limit losses.
7255  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Never buy too much coins because you would eventually forgot gosh on: April 19, 2019, 06:42:04 PM
That's true. I used to participate in too many bounties (mostly using my Facebook account) and in the end I ended up with dozens of different tokens. It was tedious to manage all of them and to exchange them to BTC or ETH.
7256  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Cash vs Bitcoin SV on: April 19, 2019, 06:40:05 PM
BTC = 1Mb Blocks
BCH = 32 Mb Blocks
BSV = Unlimited (biggest to date 128Mb)

If you like to think big, examine what the future might be, with an unlimited BSV.
Amazing and well thought out predictions up to 2065
https://youtu.be/4Bni20gEIcA

If the transaction fee goes above a certain threshold, then there is a chance that both BTC and BCH may increase the block size through hard forks. BCH has done that once and I don't think that they'll be having any issues in doing that again.
7257  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bounty that paid you some good reward on: April 19, 2019, 06:38:18 PM
I mostly participated in social media bounties and very few of them actually paid any significant reward. Mozo (a Korean project) paid me around $60 worth of tokens for my work, but most of the others paid like $1 or $5.
7258  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I will never sell my Alts for loss: Prefer to take them to the cemetery! on: April 19, 2019, 06:36:21 PM
As long as I live live I will not sell my Alts at a loss.
It is a shame that Bitches are selling: These bitches can’t see 2 years from NOW: Booming!
I primarily hold Cardano!

I have more experience here when compared to you, and I would advice you to sell some of your alts at the right time. I have been collecting alts for the last 2-3 years. And the majority of the alts (i.e more than 50%) that I got in 2017 are dormant now. Cash them out when you have the chance to do so.
7259  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: KYC defeats the purpose of Crypto. Thoughts anyone? on: April 19, 2019, 06:34:22 PM
From my observations made in the crypto space, KYC is just one of the ways people are trying to make crypto transactions centralized. KYC was the first step introduced to obtain information about people on a particular platform to monitor their activities and also know the amount of crypto coins they have.  KYC is currently the flaw in the crypto space.

But remember that on the DEX you really don't need a KYC process because of the idea which DEX'es have. Then every transaction is not centralized.

DEX is a good option for those users who don't want to undergo KYC. But from what I have seen, the prices (in terms of ETH) is normally at least 20% lower in DEX when compared to the other exchanges. And not all of the tokens can be traded in DEX sites.

Poll edited for the semis, you can vote again :

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5121367.new#new

Thanks for the poll. Voted for Arsenal, and I hope that the final will be between Arsenal and Chelsea. I am familiar with the other three teams, but the fact that Eintracht Frankfurt was able to advance so far really surprises me. I can see that they defeated strong teams such as Benfica and Inter Milan. Getting very tempted to bet for them against Chelsea... Bet365 is offering 2.75, while Betway have them at 2.8. Should I go for the bet? Or Chelsea (2.5 in Bet365)?
