Zerocoin / Zerocash / whatever it will be called has already had many of its flaws pointed out here.
The two most prominent ones are lack of a viewkey for regulatory compliance and the fact that all it will take is a single hack/severe bug (like Bitcoin faced in its early days), and the entire blockchain will be lost.
Monero really is as good as it gets for privacy. *If* (and that's a mighty big if) a mathematical way were found to have instant or near-instant confirmations + infinite scalability then that would be a major upgrade to Monero but so far I haven't seen anything that looks like it might legitimately accomplish this. Even if it was, the projects I am seeing attempt it make no real effort at privacy.
Monero gets stronger every day it exists... Hang in there - staying power is a real thing and we are growing.
Bugs can also happen in Monero, so they are not limited to zerocash nor bitcoin, and view key is of secondary interest at the moment. Simply because you cant use monero to pay for anything, because no one is accepting it directly. So I doubt any company/service cares about view keys and regulatory compliance, if they even dont use monero. Apparently vanilacoin has instant transactions. I dont know how it works, but it instant transaction seem possible. So maybe also possible to make it in monero.Nobody takes monero? Any site that gives far too much leverage to borrowers of funds is in my mind systematically flawed. Any site that does not provide any security whatsoever to the lender helps criminals steal money from honest people. I am building a site where collaterial is always required and the more liquidizeable the collaterial, the higher your user account trust rating goes. The website will be based on the CakePHP framework as well, adding strong security based on a framework that works.
Sounds cool. Not sure how you would require collateral though. Like what? Here, people use their accounts or other digital goods. Are you planning on doing something similar? IMO, one of the largely unsolvable issues is that most Borrower's don't have enough collateral to begin with, which probably fuels (in part) the asking for a loan. If you look at the loan section, most are for small amounts on here - Probably gambling. These BTCScam scums are just worse, they just run off and leave all their dox wide open. Three days ago I requested a deposit to my btcjam account. In the blockchain the movement apears to have gone through but the money never entered my account. Now I am faceing overdue charges and all my money is lost. I know the bitcoins are in btcjam possesion(because I can see their autamated deposit system) but they have refused to answer to my every comunication. Their support system is completely absent. I have sent numerous messages but no answer at all to any.
Very depressing to see this kind of good ideas go so easily to trash because of their lack of care for their clients.

Well some people saying even after the fail of the paycoin promises ,josh has another project running or some of his believers dont know well.
there are lots of rumors. some say he's involved in scryptcc since he was shilling for them at one point... wouldn't surprise me at all. Nah, he's too dumb to be involved with scrypt.cc - Whoever is operating that scam-mountain is quite smart actually, because they are still getting away with it, and no one really knows who or what criminal gang is actually running it. |
