7281  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: October 17, 2021, 06:43:01 AM
Too early to start talking about the Sugar Show's upcoming fight?  I'm a fan of his knockouts and not sure he's got the overall fighting skills for a real long run in the UFC, but I'm having fun watching him win while it's going.  What do the real UFC fans think?  Does he have what it takes to win this next fight?  Seems like it was a bit of a setup for him to get a win to me, but I'm not all that familiar with the fighter.  It would be great (although unlikely) to see the Sugar Show and Paddy the Baddy go at it someday.  I hope they can both keep winning.
7282  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: October 16, 2021, 11:08:10 PM
We seem to have hit a weekend patch of profit taking, which was to be expected.  I think once the sellers are exhausted and the buyers are back in the office on Monday, we'll see a reversal.  At the moment I'm thinking that Tuesday will be the day we break to a new all time high and set off for the next resistance point (if there is one).  It would be a bit of a disappointment if this rally failed to produce new highs, and I don't think the big boys would let that happen.  This could very well be the last stop before the six figure destination of this train.
7283  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Are unvaccinated people purebloods? on: October 16, 2021, 11:23:03 AM
My understanding of the term pureblood involves vampires and doesn’t really have anything to do with a flu or vaccine. It’s more related to sunlight and sometimes garlic. I think any non-vampiric use of the term is likely offensive and sounds a little bit racist even though that may not be the intention of this specific usage.
7284  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: October 16, 2021, 09:00:20 AM
Steph was special tonight… Dame was out, but still. A great way to end the preseason. Now we wait for Tuesday night to see the Nets vs Bucks & Warriors vs Lakers on TNT. I’ll be watching for sure… the timing seems perfect for Bitcoin to hit an all time high then as well. Sounds like all the makings for a great evening.
7285  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: October 16, 2021, 08:25:28 AM
Looks like the market has caught it's breath and is ready to go after the ATH...  The mempool is empty so everyone's coins are sitting on exchanges and the strong hands are ready to scoop them up and carry us higher.  I suspect after a little morning dump as people wake up to their coins being on exchanges, we'll be ready to rip.  The weekend might delay things a few days, but I don't see the current all time high lasting longer than Tuesday.  A six digit Bitcoin price feels locked in, which is insane because that's like a trillion dollars in added market cap...
7286  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin, I salute your final ATH. on: October 16, 2021, 02:21:24 AM
Come on. Everybody knows Bitcoin makes all time highs in December. I thought we were all aware of this last cycle. $200K in December of 2021 should have been on everyone’s mind back in 2017. Don’t tell me you folks haven’t been preparing for this… with the stock to flow model breaking next year, this could very well be the last major hurrah.
7287  Other / Politics & Society / Re: “Vaccidents” now wrecking roadways with stroked-out vaccine takers who lose... on: October 15, 2021, 11:12:38 PM
NBA players are starting to come forward to complain about the effects of the covid vaccine. I just read an article about a player for the Hawks who said he’s been experiencing blood clots after taking the vaccine that he believes may end his playing career and cost him his life’s dream. This stuff is all still so new… I can’t even imagine all of the side effects that will be known in 20 years. There is one thing we know for sure now though, the vaccine won’t stop you from getting or spreading covid.
7288  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: October 15, 2021, 08:06:34 PM
I don’t think I agree the Lakers have been horrible. Sure, they lost all their games, but I’ve seen a lot of progress. Russell Westbrook and DeAndre Jordan working out their pick n rolls has been something to see… LeBron and Dwight looking great together also. It’s clear they’re working on specific things and not worrying about the score. Come the 19th I think you’ll see a different Lakers team out there really punishing people.
7289  Economy / Speculation / Re: Next stop $85K for Bitcoin on: October 15, 2021, 08:03:04 PM
We could very well be ending the month at $85K the way things are going. Once a new high breaks we’ll be seeing Bitcoin all over the news and the fomo will be officially started. The coming volatility will both ruin lives and make dreams come true. Stay nimble, pay attention, and don’t let life changing returns pass you buy without realizing them.
7290  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Types of Scams in Crypto - Awareness on: October 14, 2021, 11:31:58 PM
MLM : This is a commonly known scam which is much seen on every form of businesses. It hasn't left cryptocurrency as well. Here based on the members added will be the commission and through this you can make big earning. One who is in the top order makes money scamming the down members. Even they'll say that you'll turn millionaire within few months. Most of the people who gets scammed on this schemes were the college students.

This is by far the most common scam I see around these parts.  Back when people used Bitcoin, I'd get hit with 2 or 3 of these attempts to scam users posing as my escrow service daily.  There are far too many stories of people losing their BTC this way.  Always make sure the people you are talking to are the people you think you are talking to.  Don't use outside websites when making transactions and never confuse one person's profile on one site with another profile on a different site just because they use the same name.  I'd even go as far as to say if you ever come across an OgNasty anywhere but bitcointalk, the odds are that it is not me.
7291  Economy / Speculation / Re: Btc $100k prediction by eoy on: October 14, 2021, 11:27:05 PM
The only thing that concerns me with a $100K end of year prediction is that literally everyone is saying this.  I'd feel a lot better about the current situation if I were hearing bears tell people to stay away and that the market was about to crash.  With no "wall of worry" to climb, the fall could be disastrous if everyone is expecting a bubble, which they are.  We need the market to dive and take out the leveraged longs and then snap back and take out the shorts so that the market can climb on real funds and not margin bets.  Lets get those leveraged traders!

raffle raffle raffle

I'm not sure I've seen any expensive raffles fill lately.  If there were actual interest in participating in a raffle at a 0.044 BTC entry cost, I'd do it.  16 people willing to gamble with 0.044 BTC right now seems like a tall order.  I also have a free gift for you Hhampuz...

Let's do 256 spot @ 0.00275 per slot, could maybe get that going  Grin
Great idea! Haven’t see one of those in a long time. I’d be a buyer of multiple slots. "Raffleception" seems to ring a bell? Grin

That seems like a lot of tracking work and a lot of network fees.  Could be a refund nightmare if it didn't fill up all the way.  I'm not sure I'd be happy with myself promising to take on such a venture...  I could maybe do 64 at 0.011 BTC if there was demand for it.  That's a pretty high price to pay for a raffle though.  I honestly don't think it would fill up.  I'm open to the idea.  I am all for selling it in a way that provides the most fun for everyone.  I just don't want to waste people's time and fees with a raffle that won't fill.
7293  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Where to sell bitcoins without ID verification on: October 14, 2021, 09:54:28 PM
https://www.coinex.com/ - doesn't require verification and offers a lot of unique services and investments.  It's the go-to place to purchase Namecoin and they also allow you to provide liquidity pairs or just collect interest on your coins.  I don't know the owners personally or anything, but I've never had any complains with their offerings.  If you're looking for a simple small trade and don't want to wait days for KYC verification, or you're looking for an exchange that offers more services, I think coinex is a decent choice.

PM me if you want a referral code and if you sign up using it you'll get a % kickback on your fees.
7294  Other / Off-topic / Re: Deontay Wilder sustain severe injuries on: October 14, 2021, 09:50:32 PM
There is nothing sad about this news,  Fury said it right after the fight, people end boxing carriers when they get nocked out like Wilder was, and he was pocking the bear for long time, so I am not surprised to see him having medical ban, it's standard procedure in MMA and boxing.

Yes, brutal knockouts can definitely end a person's career.  I don't know if it's mental, or if that kind of physical damage can be career ending at that level in the sport, but I've seen plenty of people never be the same again after suffering a head injury.  Ben Askren being a good example.  He went from being able to withstand some of the most punishing blows I've ever seen to being knocked out by a Disney kid almost instantly.  Even in basketball, Roy Hibbert was never the same after catching an elbow to the head from LeBron James...  Head injuries are no joke.  They can turn regular people into crazy psychos seemingly overnight.
7295  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Do soldiers who fight for money deserve to live? on: October 14, 2021, 09:47:04 PM
I believe the American and Chinese military employ more people than any other business in the world.  Saying that all their employees should not deserve to live seems like you're advocating for the death of some of the largest groups of human beings on earth.  Personally, I'd rather there was no such thing as an army in today's society.  There really isn't a need for it and I think the failure in the middle east displays that.  I'm reminded of the quote, "fighting for peace is like fucking for virginity."  I think a lot of people in life, and especially on these forums should take that quote to heart.
7296  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: October 14, 2021, 09:43:32 PM
I'm going against the Odds tonight, I'm backing the Miami Heat against Atalanta Hawks, Heat have won all but one of their preseason games so far while Hawks have lost two and won their last match, The odds is 5.55 for Miami Heat and I could care less about who or doesn't play tonight.  I'm just going to some bucks the Heats way.

That Miami Heat's winning streak this pre-season is courtesy of their core stars. The odds provided to them against the Atlanta Hawks clearly indicate that almost the entire of their core will be out of the game and already ruled out (maybe also the same against Boston Celtics on their final pre-season game) but who knows they can still snatch a win.

But regardless of who will play or not for Miami and you will still place a bet for them, then good luck. @5.5 is really an attractive odds.

I wouldn't put too much on whatever anyone did in the preseason.  The Warriors have been undefeated and the Lakers haven't won a game yet, but the Lakers are still going to wipe the floor with them opening day in just 5 shorts days from today.

We're all betting the Lakers to win that game right?  Sure, they've looked terrible so far, but preseason to veterans isn't exactly something they lose sleep over.  I am so happy it's only 5 more days...  Even though the NBA is turning into a propaganda tool, I absolutely love watching/playing the sport.
7297  Economy / Collectibles / Re: (NFT'S) Anyone want to comment on them? on: October 14, 2021, 09:40:33 PM
Coinbase building an NFT exchange is pretty bullish for the NFT market.  They already had more than 1 million people sign up for more information in the first day.  That's 3x the amount of Opensea.io users currently.  Coinbase getting involved is likely to send a tidal wave of investment at the NFT market.  Besides the massive amount of gas that will be burned sending ETH skyward, every cheap NFT will likely be swooped up.  I don't know how their market will work, but it's safe to say that there are going to be some massive opportunities in the very near future.

I may start an auction sooner rather than later unless 1) someone buys this before I get the chance, or 2) people want to see a raffle and are willing to participate.
7299  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Your opinion, NFT last long or not ? on: October 14, 2021, 09:30:33 PM
I think NFTs could be the most useful thing in crypto we've seen yet.  Probably a decade away from where it needs to be though.  People keep looking at them like they're nothing more than .png files, but the art is actually the least interesting thing about NFTs.  The added functionality they're going to bring to things like the events tickets market are going to cause some real world changes and make things better for people.  Not just crypto people either, but mainstream folks will benefit from NFTs being used in society.  Most people don't get this.

I'm just looking at the odds for the Regular season MVP from sportsbet, what can you say about it?

I'm thinking it's going to be close between KD and Giannis, so I"m surprised that Luka is somewhat the favorite this season.
I'm not surprised that Luka is the favorite especially how he's been playing the last two seasons. I'm more surprised that Embiid is at 7.50 while Jokic is at 15. No disrespect to Joel and the bookies but come on man, it has to be closer than that. Is he injured? What am I missing?

Luka is really playing very well, hopefully we can bring the Mavs to the championship this year so that the MVP odds will be validated.

Surprising the reigning MVP at 15, that's some disrespect in my opinion. No he is not injured or something, but maybe sports bookies are not taking him just like what last year when he was a long shot. Joel has been consistent in the MVP voting, it's that the injury somewhat diminished his chances last season.

I would agree Luka has MVP potential, but I don't think the Mavs are going to do well enough for him to truly be in MVP contention.  I also think Giannis has a lot to prove still.  I don't think he was ready to be made MVP when he got it, and now that he's earned it, I'm not sure if he's deserving of another yet.

I think I'd go with Durant as the obvious choice because he's the best basketball player in the world right now.  Harden might be a sleeper though if Kyrie misses a lot of games and he's able to run the point largely by himself for the Nets.

One surprising thing to myself about my own opinion...  I don't think any of the Lakers have a shot at MVP this year.
