Thanks? *wtf just happened*
7282  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: avalon stopping for hours and not restarting on: August 24, 2013, 02:29:27 AM
I believe it might be something in a recent firmware. I too had this occur, perfectly stable machine for days on end, then decided it wasn't happy. Would restart several times, then get stuck on 100% hardware until physically restarted. Then back to happy happy happy.
7283  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Comprehensive ASICMiner Blade Setup on: August 24, 2013, 01:29:08 AM

As far as power, I can get the same effect applying 24 volts correct?

I have 24 volt - 15 amp lab power supply that I'd like to use.

At 24 Volts it should take 5 amps per to get the 120 watts.

Or am I way off base?

NO. This is not how electronics work. Do not use anything but 12V.
7284  Economy / Auctions / Re: Avalon Asic 2 module hosting or shipping on: August 23, 2013, 04:33:51 PM
This guy doesn't accept escrow, don't bother.

what if the edges and corners are curved for first diagram?
Reduces minor losses slightly, but still pretty crappy.
7286  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Alternative way of normalising hashing power to delivery date... on: August 22, 2013, 10:47:16 PM
I like your idea, I think I might have heard it somewhere else...
Probably, in fact almost certainly - someone must have posted this at some point.
7287  Bitcoin / Hardware / Alternative way of normalising hashing power to delivery date... on: August 22, 2013, 10:25:07 PM
tldr:
Problem:
Hash rate today isnt the same as hash rate tomorrow
But hash rate itself doesn't help us compare

Solution:
Measure hardware in % of the network.

Example:
Ie an 82GH unit in hand today is roughly 0.0227%
This could be better displayed as 22.7pp's [percentage points]
Then we could say a 400GH KNC unit would be 61.5pps with an estimated network of 650GH

Result:
So in hash rate, the KNC unit is 4.9x more powerful, but in pp the KNC unit is only 2.7x more powerful

Why?
This should aid in market valuation

Limitations:
Based entirely off network hash rate. While people have some pretty sound best guesses, its only ever going to be an estimate.
This could be overcome by using xyz's conservative estimates, referring to some public spreadsheet with generally accepted network difficulties.
7288  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: anyone with fluid dynamics background? need some help with waterblock design on: August 22, 2013, 09:26:22 PM
1) adds so much minor losses *read 'frictional losses due to geometry* and isn't viable
2) 2 is better, but again reduces flow quite a lot. The most commonly used layout in waterblock is a large cavity with cylindrical vertical pins. You want to maximise surface area WITHOUT reducing flow rate.

^^^Highly simplified because these are the only things you need to know.
7289  Economy / Auctions / Re: Avalon Batch 2, Batch 3 + Butterfly Labs 25GH/s Miner on: August 22, 2013, 07:36:49 PM
Won't accept 100% escrow, offer withdrawn. 17 day old account, no escrow, be careful people.

an easy 2 minute redirect to a controlled eligius.st mine account would prove him right but..
But doesn't prove anything that he would actually send us the units?
7290  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [MUST READ] Butterfly Labs FTC complaint on: August 22, 2013, 06:16:01 PM
The outcome of the FTC would be that they step in and force-run BFL in a responsible way. Not everyone can win here, but the FTC would be your best chance.
7291  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Anyone demonstrated a 28nm ASIC mining bitcoin yet? on: August 22, 2013, 05:15:03 PM
KNC sock puppet avoids the serious question and posts stupid link. If you wanted to show that 28nm is possible, why wouldn't you have mentioned the current and past 22nm intel chips a lot of us are using?

Ah yes, because you 10000% blindly believe in KNC.

tldr: Answer is no.

Try for once not to be a dick. Wink
Try once not to avoid the topic in question.

Might want to remove that file and censor your details

I agree someone may want to wait until those ship and show up to get them from you Undecided
They're going to hosting

2 days, I will accept majority in escrow but not full amount. Too many scams and horror stories.
That is the exact purpose of escrow. 100% escrow otherwise my offer is withdrawn.
7297  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: "Butterfly Labs...also received a subpoena" on: August 22, 2013, 04:08:47 PM
no... BFL is not located in NY - NY the state has jurisdiction within its borders.

noone on this forum seems to understand jurisdiction. it's like AsicMiner getting a subpeona from him. does it make sense?

i mean they can ask nicely after all- subpeona is not asking nicely

New York is a big economy. Would your company want to risk being denied the ability to do business there? Also NY and CA tend to work in lockstep. If NY starts finding anything, you can be sure that CA will start looking too. CA's economy is larger than many countires.
Texas is the largest economy in the US, 3rd largest economy in the world (or something like that).
LOL. JUST LOL.
7298  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: can we even trust butterfly labs? on: August 22, 2013, 01:47:32 PM
Not another fucking thread, I don't want to live. You don't even need to search, there are 10 BFL threads on the front page.
7299  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: BFL could be find $16,000 for each product the fail to ship on: August 22, 2013, 07:58:23 AM
From the FTC website:

http://business.ftc.gov/documents/bus02-business-guide-mail-and-telephone-order-merchandise-rule

This is a VERY interesting read!!

Some of the key points:

1) after ordering, BFL had 30 days to deliver our product. If they were not able to ship in that time frame, they were to notify all customers and ask if they wanted to maintain their order.

On that point, they did notify customers. A few months ago they sent mail to all customers and asked to log in butterflylabs.com to submit an answer as to whether they wanted to maintain the order or not.

A few months ago does not equal 30 days after preorders were not fulfilled.
7300  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official ASICMINER Hardware Information on: August 22, 2013, 07:56:49 AM
How much are they and price for express delivery to united kingdom?

you want to contact yxt for EU, he is the reseller there

Why don't you deliver internationally anymore? What if I want to order from you because e.g. your prices are better?
Because he's not allowed to sell into the EU if there is a reseller there. *free market ftw*
