7321  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: BTC/USD update 12/3/2018 on: December 05, 2018, 08:14:02 AM
BTC can't seem to catch a break. Some NASDAQ media personnel basically confirmed the NASDAQ bitcoin futures in Q1-Q2 of 2019 and BTC went down anyways.

Honestly it doesn't look good. The bounce was very weak and most likely the $3500 will break and we will head into the $3250 or $3000 area sometime this month.

There doesn't seem to be anything bullish on the charts right now.
7322  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Casinos with instant deposits on: December 05, 2018, 08:10:41 AM
Don't really understand the urge of instant deposits. I think they are there in the casinos favor where one goes bust, and then goes on tilt and instantly sends more BTC to "Play until gets break-even" and ends up losing even more BTC.

Most if not all won't let you withdraw until your original deposit confirms, this is understandable since it would be too risky. The biggest risk the casinos have with 0-conf deposits is that some individuals can deposit 1 BTC, make a bet with that 1 BTC instantly and if they lose, they immediately double spend it with a higher miner fee and get their deposit back. If they win, then they don't do anything.

I guess casinos have software which looks at the output transaction and they try and determine if its a double spend risk, if it is then they will make confirmations mandatory.
7323  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Difficulty rate ethermine vs global difficulty on: December 05, 2018, 07:39:54 AM
Hy guys,
may be a stupid noob question about minin ethereum, but i was wondering why, according to Etherscan.io the average difficulty to solve a block at time of writing is  2,445.94 TH.
But if I take a look to mine rig, that's connected to Ethermine ppol, the difficulty is capped at 4.000MH and gets stuck at that level.

MAy be someone could explain me what's the reason.
Thanks

This is how pool mining works. You submit a share which is a much lower difficulty than the actual difficulty to find a block.

They do this to prove that you are actually mining and to find out how much to pay you when the pool actually finds a block.

If you were solo-mining then your difficulty would equal the actual ETH difficulty but would take a very long time to find a block, hence its only for large mining farms.
7324  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Rig reset itself after mining has started ??? on: December 05, 2018, 07:33:41 AM
Like the above poster said. Try 1 GPU at a time and see which one is causing the hangs.

I am thinking you got some bad riser, or maybe a PSU went bad or maybe some +12V wires are melted. Try one GPU at a time and see if you can pinpoint the issue.

Also did you try stock voltages? Maybe you undervolted too much.
7325  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Why its still worth mining ETH (or other coins) for me - Updated 2 months later on: December 04, 2018, 08:10:08 AM
Yes its too bad that the RX gpus didn't come with dual bios like some of the older Radeon GPUs before it.

I am having the same issue, usually one algo is stable but without playing around with the memory straps, core clock, memory clock, voltages, it won't be stable with another algo.

If they had a dual bios switch and you are phyiscally present you can flip the switch and on the fly switch to a different algo.

I think Sapphire may have actually had a RX GPU which did come with a dual bios however the other manufacteurs did not.
7326  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Chat in gambling on: December 04, 2018, 08:03:06 AM
I don't really like emoji's in chatrooms, it makes them very messy and usually some annoyed user will always post a bunch of emoji's in a row for fun and cause annoyance.

What should be used instead of emoji's is maybe special character instead like a ASCII heart or BTC symbol.

Since this is for a casino, you can add the tip feature that some sites have. It will allow a lucky high roller winner to give out a certain portion of their winnings to other people in the trollbox who are present.
7327  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Decentralized Dice Games? on: December 04, 2018, 07:56:16 AM
I think in the near future decentralised casinos will become more and more common.

Right now with casinos there isn't any strict KYC yet unlike with most BTC exchanges. However this can quickly change in the future and when it does we will all need decentralised casinos.

Provably fair and decentralisation are 2 different things pretty much. Provably fair simply is proof that the roll was done in a fair manner. Decentralization means there is no party who holds your funds and can freeze them. Basically what happened last year with certain exchanges like Poloniex which made KYC mandatory and froze almost everyone who wasn't verified.

Like the above poster already stated, the issue with decentralized platforms now is that they are fairly new and poor UX and buggy at times, however this should improve in the near future.
7328  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ethereum: Welcome to the Beginning on: December 04, 2018, 07:24:10 AM
I am not sure about ETH bottom since it was less than $10 at the beginning of 2017 while BTC was around $1000.

If BTC actually reaches $1000, then it will take a long time to recover because we are talking about a 95% loss from ATH. Most venture capitalists who poured huge money into crypto in 2017 will be wiped out and out of the game. There will be little growth and investments and many won't buy BTC in the future because "What if it crashes 95% again".

Same with ETH, I don't see it hitting $10 ever again but I also don't believe $100 could be the bottom, maybe around $75 or so.
7329  Economy / Speculation / Re: second half of november was definately a bloodbath for bitcoin 2k usd loss on: December 03, 2018, 06:33:48 AM
on my Trading analytic , now on my indicator RSI ,and Stoch RSI still on dip
maybe bitcoin revival still far away from here , maybe next year on q2/q3 on 2019. and will bullrun there
i hope my analytic is true soon Smiley
but at least now i bought some BTC for long term

With BTC don't trust the RSI and bearish/bullish divergences. They are lagging indicators and they can remain low and go lower and price can keep tanking.

We had a multi-bull-divergence and eventually at $3500 it bounced however if you went long at the first divergence you would be sitting at a huge loss.

Same with the RSI, people didn't think it would go lower but it did and I think you would be at a -$1000 loss in price if you initially entered your trade.
7330  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Looking for the fastest way/tool to transfer fiat currency between exchanges on: December 03, 2018, 06:28:08 AM
I am guessing that the reason why he wants to do this is for arbitrage and so far every suggestion won't work.

The stablecoin approach won't work because it will take away most of the arbitrage profits and suggesting "Paypal" is not a good idea due to the chargeback risks and even if there isn't a chargeback risk the funds can easily get frozen since Paypal is not too crypto friendly.

Pretty much waiting the 3 business days is the only solution.
7331  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: WHY NEWBIES KEEP ASKING THE SAME QUESTION " ITS TO LATE TO START MINING ? on: December 03, 2018, 06:23:29 AM
YOUR CAPSLOCK-KEY SEEMS TO BE STUCK!!!!!!11111oneeleven
But yeah - I agree; maybe a pinned FAQ-thread would be a good idea.

MY CAPS LOCK STILL STUCK Wink Another bump 4 months later for our newbie members Wink

I realise now that you started this topic at the end of Sept of 2017, and back then you actually would make alot of money if you started to mine. Since there were great deals on GPUs below MSRP during Black Friday and shortly after BTC peaked at $20K and the following month was the crazy alt-coin bubble which was very beneficial to GPU miners, especially where ETH hit $1400.

Don't remember the numbers exactly at the top of my head but I think a RX 470 made like $5/day/GPU and the higher end 1080Ti made probably over $10/day.

Now however, it really is too late to start mining.
7332  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Add V8 and Stellite support to SGminer? on: December 03, 2018, 06:07:13 AM
Seems like all development for this miner has stopped. Huh

SGMiner was an awesome miner, even CGminer.

There was development last year by wolf and GenesisMining which ported the SGMiner to include the older version of Cryptonight.

However now with profitability down the drain and people losing interest, I don't think we will see an updated miner anytime soon. Maybe if things start to pick up we might see a Claymore V8 miner and a SGminer which supports V8. Until then, all we can do is wait.
7333  Economy / Gambling / Re: Win a Lamborghini for 0.00056 BTC on: December 03, 2018, 06:04:11 AM
Most people don't realise this but with most lotteries you agree for some type of marketing and publication. Its written somewhere on the lottery ticket when you buy it.

I don't think the national lottery will post your full name on TV but they might post a photo of you and maybe your first name and your wifes. Since you are a millionaire most people don't have an issue with this.

But I heard somewhere where some illegal immigrant won the lottery but couldn't claim it, so he gave it to a friend who took all the winnings instead for himself.
7334  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: Want to buy old unprofitable miners at scrap price on: December 02, 2018, 08:58:50 AM
Why sell it to you for scrap in the first place when there is a full section of Computer Hardware here in the forum in which people buy and sell all kind of miners, even very old ones. Beside that in Ebay I was checking now and lowest price I have seen for an Antminer D3 inlcuding Psu was about 98 dollars which is a good price in my opinion. People with almost free electricity can make the most out of it although it was the biggest failure Bitmain ever produced.
i owned both the D3 and B3 and believe me, the D3 doesnt even come close to the B3 in terms of failure, LOL!!

I am pretty sure the Antminer S4 was the worst miner which came out of Bitmain in terms of ROI.

When it was released it was overpriced and by the time it was delivered, BTC took a huge hit in terms of price. While at the same time it wasn't as efficient as the upcoming S5.

With the internal PSU having high failure rates and being difficult to source, many buyers were upset.

It was also probably one of the loudest miners ever produced by Bitmain. It had 4 powerful server fans and also an even louder fan inside the server PSU.

However with the second hand market it was a clear winner. Since with relately cheap electricity you could of made decent gains if you've held thru 2015. The original owners however weren't so lucky.
7335  Economy / Speculation / Re: MATHEMATICALLY Impossible for BITCOIN to "Come Back" - Why tell ppl lies? on: December 02, 2018, 08:53:08 AM
A few points.

The total market cap during a bubble is never accurate. Basically any ICO can launch at a very high valuation and it can easily have a 9 figure market cap. Given the amount of ICOs released during last years quarter it wouldn't surprise me if there were dozens and dozens of these ICOs with inflated market cap.

Second, the reason why Credit card companies banned crypto purchases was due to fraud. People were getting their computers hacked, bought bitcoin with someone's credit card and when it was approved by coinbase, they withdrew it. The banks had to take the hit since the "customer says he never heard of bitcoin and never purchased it".

I am pretty sure this was a very small percentage but to save the headache they just banned crypto purchases all together with CCs. Shortly afterwards you could still do purchases by a debit card instead of a credit card.
7336  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ethereum: Welcome to the Beginning on: December 02, 2018, 08:45:55 AM
This is a full raging bear market my friends. Don't stand on the way of this freight train. I would short ethereum if  Iwere you. Eth is dead until further notice.

Mate, they will have big update in the beginning of net year. As I know they going to launch hard fork in January with some existed updates and improvements. And with Bakkt and Fidelity launch at almost same time ETH can grow till few thousands  Roll Eyes
Bakkt and Fidelity means the institutional traders will dump eth to $1 so they can buy cheap. It always makes me laugh when people with zero trading experience claim that this will bring prices up. What a joke!!! More exchanges (bakkt fidelity) means more liquidity = LOWER PRICES, NOT higher prices!!! The crypto community is so full of fools it's unbelievable!

More liquidity doesn't mean higher or lower prices. All that higher liquidity does is it lowers the spread and maybe the commissions.

I don't know if you ever traded penny stocks or low cap stocks. The spreads are crazy high on those stocks due to poor liquidity, and you basically need to buy at markets or sell at market if you want a fill soon since adding a bid/ask will take a long time to fill. If its a stock like AAPL with very high liquidity then you never have issues with fills.

However I don't think this BAKT will make much difference since the futures listing exactly 1 year ago caused this huge bear market.
7337  Economy / Gambling / Re: SafeDICE.com ★ Bitcoin Dice ★ Monero ★ 0.5% Edge ★ Fast Cashout ★ Since 2014 on: December 02, 2018, 08:40:25 AM
This thread has been created back in Nov 2014, so its basically 4 years old. Alot could change in 4 years.

My guess is back in 2014, the admin was single and now he most likely is married with 2 kids and doesn't have the free time anymore for this site. From the discussions here, he isn't scamming anyone, just makes you wait a very long time to get your withdraw to get sent.

This reminds me of a vehicle a friend of mine has bought, he bought a vehicle with a bad transmission and it actually came with a replacement transmission with the deal. The guy asked why don't you just install the new transmission and sell it that way, and he said he had a bunch of kids and has virtually no free time anymore.

So this is my guess what is going on with the admin.

So you are saying that 7months of inactivity of site owner where no one knows exactly what situation he is currently in (dead or alive), can't even open bitcointalk.org on his browser's URL bar is just busy with family? If he is the president of the United States I would understand he can't get online for months but in this case I'm pretty sure its not just because of his/her family

Yes I agree with you, he should just close down the site if he doesn't have time to maintain it. However I am pretty sure he still makes good money with it and doesn't want to part with it.

This happened in the past many times, eventually by reading this thread I think most people got their withdraws, even if it was a few months later.

Most of the issues stem from the XMR daemon, I am guessing that since the V8 hard-fork a few months back, he still didn't update his server and that's why its offline.

With BCH, its the same story due to the SV split. He probably wants to implement some type of replay protection before sending out BCH payments incase the SV fork ends up flippening and then he might lose the more valuable fork.
7338  Economy / Gambling / Re: ✅ DuckDice.io 🎲 Faucet 🎲 Rainbot 🎲 Jackpot 🎲 Wagering Contest 🎲 1%Edge 🎲 on: December 02, 2018, 08:28:00 AM
Mind earning extra BTC for doing nothing?
Yes, I want earn BTC for doing nothing.

How much BTC are you willing to give me for doing nothing?

Back in the early days there was so many ways of earning BTC for doing pretty much nothing. These days not so much.

I remember there was a faucet that paid out 1 BTC per day, if you wanted more you had to wait until the next day or just reboot your router IP to get a new IP, and it actually wasn't worth the hassle.

You could basically mine BTC with your CPU which unlike GPUs or ASICs consumed very little power and made very little noise, again it wasn't worth the hassle.

These days, you need to jump thru hoops or get extremely lucky to get any free BTC.
7339  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: Want to buy old unprofitable miners at scrap price on: December 01, 2018, 06:33:14 PM
How much are scrap electronics worth exactly? I am assuming it's worth a little more than a scrap car.

On certain electronics there might be small traces of gold and some copper and those give the most value. However the work required to extract these minuscule amounts is not worth the headache.

I think besides the PSU the fans are the second most valuable item since they are usually the expensive industrial delta type fans for servers.
7340  Economy / Speculation / Re: To All You Guys Who Keep Telling Everybody to BTFD on: December 01, 2018, 09:03:10 AM
If you want to buy the dip, at least do it with some technical analysis.

Looking at June-Nov 2018 right before it broke the $5800 support, there was actually no reason to go long, it kept making lower highs and aside from the tether FUD which caused price to go to $7500 last month, there was no real break-out.

Now its the same story, unless it closes above the daily highs made in the last 2 weeks, there is no reason to go long.

In my opinion if it ever engulfs the huge cup and handle that will form if it ever reaches $6K again, then $6.5K is a confirmation to go long.
