7341  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: First Bitcoin on: June 13, 2017, 04:56:26 AM
Signature campaigns used to pay more bitcoins because the equivalent on USD was low, and that's no longer the case now so It really won't be that easy If that's all you are planning to do. If you however have some skills such as programming, or photoshoping then you could offer your services, and If you are actually good at what you are doing, It won't take you much time until you get your first bitcoin.
7342  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Jaxx Wallet ‘Vulnerability’: Users Report $400k Funds Thefts on: June 13, 2017, 04:32:08 AM
Reports are surfacing of a ‘vulnerability’ in Jaxx wallet leading to at least $400,000 customer funds being stolen.

A report on the insufficient wallet backup phrase storage methods this weekend has now updated to include reports that hackers are already exploiting the problem to steal cryptocurrency from users.

After you read the whole article[1], you will come up with the decision of not using this wallet again (most likely). Basically, they have no plans to alter or change the security setup of their wallet. I'd recommend everyone to either stop using this wallet or simply stop storing large amounts.

7343  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will there be a flippening? on: June 12, 2017, 04:36:29 PM
If It ever happens (and I'm not saying It's going to happen) and Ethereum get a higher marketcap then bitcoin, what does it mean? It means nothing. Ether has much more supply then bitcoin has and the math is very simple for the marketcap, price * supply also, let's just compare the number of major services like Steam, Neteller, Skrill etc. that are actually accepting Ethereum? you probably won't be able to compile a list. from cryptocurrency 1200 ATMs around the world, how many of them accept Ethereum? probably nothing more then 5-10. while the remaining number is for bitcoin. I believe this is how the success of a coin should be measured and not by market cap only.
7344  Economy / Services / Re: escrow on: June 12, 2017, 03:24:32 PM
An escrow is basically a middleman and usually a trusted and reputable member on the forums. We have an outdated list here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=855778.0 and you can look for more escrows on the "services" section.
7345  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: [Unofficial] Exodus Wallet | Multi-Currency | Built-in Exchange on: June 12, 2017, 01:54:46 PM
I got an answer regarding all the suggestions and questions given above:

Some guys in this thread are talking about avoiding dust payment to get a lower fee. But how do you avoid dust payments? What to do? I am new to this, and my fees (in jaxx wallet) are extremely high (around 25$).

I am looking for a solution, and was wondering, can exodus solve my fee problem?

I am mostly using shapeshifting

Thanxx

No wallet could fix this for you sadly. If you want to fix this then you need to start accepting bigger payments. If you are getting them from a faucet or something, then keep them on the site until you have a decent amount then withdraw everything instead of withdrawing small amounts of a hourly or daily basis.
7346  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: e-Currency and Bitcoin online exchanger PayBis on: June 12, 2017, 01:22:44 PM
Hi there, i'm interested

This is a service, not an individual trying to buy or sell. You can trade with them from their official site: https://paybis.com/
7347  Bitcoin / Mycelium / Re: Mycelium Bitcoin Wallet on: June 12, 2017, 01:01:19 PM
I invested in crowdsale.mycelium.com bitcoins. All transactions have been saved.

Now I can not enter there! The password for recovery does not come to my mail! I wrote three letters to the support service - there have been no answers for several weeks already! (7408, 6616, 5816 03.03.2017!)

If the support service does not solve this in the near future, I will consider you fraudsters to write with a lawsuit!

A lawsuit against who exactly? Mycelium don't have an office, I believe that the team members are based on multiple countries. I suggest checking their Telegram, you will get find team members who will answer your questions.
7348  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Blockchain.info issue accessing wallet! Please Help on: June 12, 2017, 06:26:52 AM
I'm pretty sure that blockchain.info uses BIP39 for their recovery phrase. This is a nice tutorial of how to export your blockchain.info wallet into omniwallet but the process is the same, you just get the private key and import it into another wallet. The article is here: https://github.com/OmniLayer/omniwallet/wiki/Exporting-Private-Key-from-Blockchain.info-and-Importing-to-Omniwallet.org

There's an easier option, i'm not sure if it works though. Go download copay and try to insert the BIP39 mnemonics there. I use their wallet and there is an option to import the mnemonics directly to recover old wallets.

He can't connect to his account, so how he is going to export the private keys on the first place. He probably should wait for their answer so we could help him from there.

What do you mean?

He has the recovery phrase which means that he can basically import it to any bitcoin wallet that is able to accept BIP39 recovery seeds. The tool that bl4nkcode gave can be used to get the addresses and their respective private keys.

Or OP can use mycelium, copay or any other wallet to import the recovery phrase as well and access the wallet. The seeds that blockchain.info uses are pretty much universally used.

I'm talking about the first part where you said he should export the private keys and are you sure that blockchain was using BIP39 back in 2014? I believe they only started using it recently when they upgraded to HD.

7350  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: **Download the blockchain here, updated regularly ** on: June 11, 2017, 08:19:48 PM
It's not longer recommended to download the bootstrap file for sometime now, having the latest bitcoin core version will make you download the files much faster.
7351  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin $3000 on: June 11, 2017, 06:34:15 PM
I see it 2920$ on preev.com and 2950$ on CoinMarketCap, where is the 3000$? Anyway, I'm a really optimistic person but let's deal with it. It's just a matter of time till It drops again because people are looking for the short term gains and start panic selling, while they could simply wait a few weeks/months to make big, If not huge earnings.
7352  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Blockchain.info issue accessing wallet! Please Help on: June 11, 2017, 01:14:33 PM
Is there seed custom made? If they are following BIP39 or something and the passphrase is actually correct, you shouldn't find issues importing them. So, first ask them what they were using back in 2014.
7353  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Exodus desktop wallet prices are static but market prices says something else on: June 11, 2017, 12:30:17 PM
Does the price for the coins in the Exodus desktop wallet go up and down when the rest of the market does?
The price in the Exodus desktop wallet looks static, when in fact its actually gone up slightly on coinmarketcap.
Actually I just took another peak at the Exodus desktop wallet and it has adjusted its price by a cent.

It really depends from where you are taking the prices from. Exodus could take from both Cryptocompare and CoinMarketCap, you could check by making the developer menu visible: CTRL + SHIFT + D. If you already have it on CoinMarketCap then It's possible that the Exodus wallet don't make requests all the time (maybe each x minute).
7354  Economy / Digital goods / Re: Selling Nordstrom NIke Sephora many more on: June 11, 2017, 11:31:41 AM
100% legit escrow can hold till goods are delivered to your house i have no problem as i know they are a 100% legit let me know how much you require and i will save

Regards

The offer is definitely interesting, however I checked with both my Reship company (Shipito) and Nike.com and It looks like they don't accept these companies and since I'm not a U.S resident, there is no way for me to ship these items to myself. Again, sorry for the late reply, feel free to sell these gift card to somebody else.
7355  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: [Unofficial] Exodus Wallet | Multi-Currency | Built-in Exchange on: June 11, 2017, 11:09:19 AM
Hello gus , are important '' exoport private keys'' or not ?
Thanks in advance

If you are asking If there is the ability to export private keys then yes, you can do that from the developer menu by doing: CTRL + SHIFT + D. A menu should appear and give you multiple features and exporting your keys is one of them.

Got introduced to this wallet a week ago. I love it. My problem is that the Shapeshift exhange , it is down for maintanance all the time.

I believe this issue was never reported before, at least not lately. If you could give me the error message you was getting? Or it could be indeed that ShapeShift had a maintenance but not sure, since I didn't see any announcements about it.

The questions and suggestions given above will be answered once I get an answer from the founders of the wallet. I sent everything.
7356  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Exodus desktop adaptability on: June 11, 2017, 02:44:27 AM
You are not buying from the exodus team, the wallet is using the ShapeShift API so you are basically using that exchange, ...
Will ShapeShift demand ID (verification) even though I am using my own Exodus desktop wallet, no matter how large the amount?

I'm sorry for the delay for answering you but I had to ask the developers of the wallet to make sure that the answer is right and to answer your question, an ID is never required while trading with Exodus.
7357  Bitcoin / Mycelium / Re: Mycelium Bitcoin Wallet on: June 11, 2017, 02:09:42 AM
I'm trying to sign a message from a paper wallet that I have, is that possible using Mycelium? I don't want to import or transfer the funds to my phone wallet, simply sign a message using the address that I wish to from the QR code.

i had to do this a while back as i couldn't move the coins from a paper wallet.

the only way i could find, though i didn't look too hard, was to download this - https://github.com/brainwallet/brainwallet.github.io

and use the sign function with the private key very far offline.

Well, won't this will result in the same issue? I could simply import the private keys to Mycelium wallet and sign the message from there but that would be risky.
7358  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: [Unofficial] Exodus Wallet | Multi-Currency | Built-in Exchange on: June 09, 2017, 02:36:22 PM
have automatic update?

Not at the moment,no. You need to download the latest version and simply install it like you did with the previous ones. It's okay, It will overwrite the old files and you won't suffer any losses. It's important to have the passphrase though, just in case.

7360  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Fees on: June 09, 2017, 11:27:05 AM
The fees are high for one (of both) of the two reasons:

1. Your transaction size (received multiple micro payments)
2. The bitcoin network is having a lot of traffic (many transactions - could be a spam attack as well)
