If you want to business with bitcoin and get rich then great. Speculation get richery is passe.

If you just want to get rich easy then you need an alt. With its recent fall in price, litecoins looking pretty good to me.

Good to see Gox being discussed, from my point of view.

I'm pleasantly surprised by how sensitively a lot of people handled this. The internet isn't always known for its sympathy and decency.

Cookies for all, especially the OP who gets an extra big one

Whatever happened with that old butterfly labs controversy? The one where people didn't received their machines. I took a break with bitcoin, coincidentally around the time of the mtgox collapse (thank you Mark!) and never really saw what happened.

I even put a quote in my posts in solidarity with people who were defrauded. Please tell me at least that guy got fired. They seem to still be going.

Any thoughts?
749  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: DotA2 Bitcoin League on: February 22, 2015, 02:04:42 PM
What you are talking about is the two big areas of risk: TECHNICAL RISK and MARKET RISK.

Technical risk is : "can I really deliver the product".

Market risk is: "will people want the product, and in sufficient numbers to make it viable".

A good entrepreneur acknowledges and minimizes both.

It is a nice idea, I've actually had it myself but I'm conscious of risk and can't program. Do you have the necessary funds for something like this?
750  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: DotA2 Bitcoin League on: February 22, 2015, 01:33:49 PM
Its an interesting idea, but just an idea. Do you have any real plan to do this? Business or programming experience?

The guy has taken a lot of hate for no real reason. He could be a troll or just a newb.

Hi notbtc, its great to have another person join this hugely promising scene.  Smiley

You are new to this scene. That means you need to realize the dangers of the bitcoin world. There is no regulation and a LOT of con men and fraudsters. That is the single most important thing you need to know. It needn't discourage you, but it means you need to hold on to those 500k Euros very tightly. Your original post suggested you have little experience in this world and a lot of money; some dodgy people will have noted that.

I say again, if there is a single thing you need to know, it is to be careful in this world, even more than one usually would.

That being said it is also very exciting. I too am looking to make some speculations in order to support the bitcoin economy (which is one of the reasons I get annoyed at chronic holding advocates; I actually want there to be an economy).

I look forward to you ideas.

Welcome.
753  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: HODL, HOARD your cypto GOLD! All Hail the Hoarders! on: February 10, 2015, 07:34:24 PM
Yep.
754  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: HODL, HOARD your cypto GOLD! All Hail the Hoarders! on: February 09, 2015, 08:30:15 PM
Obviously to a lot of people bitcoin is just a gimmick to use to make a quick buck through (sorry, a "store of value"). It makes me doubly sure that "a store of value" is all it ever will be.
755  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: How to fund bitcoin project ? on: February 08, 2015, 08:56:12 PM
Fine, I missed that from your previous post. My apologies.

Like I said: crowdfunding. Its then a case of hoping that people believe you are going to travel your continent giving people small amounts of bitcoin for free and teaching them about bitcoin rather than just looking for free bitcoins for yourself.

Good luck.
756  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: How to fund bitcoin project ? on: February 08, 2015, 08:50:33 PM
"Idea is to travel across my continent and carry full bitcoin node with me,
giving papper wallet with small ammount of BTC to peoples and teach them
about Bitcoin

I dont need a loan, because this is non-profitable project.
Maybe crowdfunding is the best option.

Again, this is not business project, this is for benefit of whole Bitcoin community"

Ok that clarifies things. Yes, it sounds like crowdfunding is definitely the way to go. I don't actually see any other viable option.
757  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: HODL, HOARD your cypto GOLD! All Hail the Hoarders! on: February 08, 2015, 08:23:32 PM
"+1 for holding. It's much more important than spending right now."

Important for what exactly.
758  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: How to fund bitcoin project ? on: February 08, 2015, 08:21:08 PM
I would say so yes.

I'm not trying to discourage you, I'm pointing out that it will be hard to find an investment of that sort without

1)A great busienss plan

2) A good reputation

3) Collateral against loans

Its 40btc you are asking for, after all. I have never seen a loan of that size on this site.
759  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Bitcoin card game on: February 08, 2015, 05:15:53 PM
I certainly have some ideas on this. Wanna team up and get something good to market?
760  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: How to fund bitcoin project ? on: February 08, 2015, 05:14:19 PM
I agree - its shameful. Speaking of which, have you heard my idea to do a bitcoin card game?
