I have a greater idea. Make sure to also support Maxcoin at the same time as the anti-keiser coin!!!! LOL

That would make some waves...

So far nobody has found any bugs. Then again it seems that nobody has tested the DOGE gateway yet.

What other coin should I support next?

I'm going to be perverse here and say Flappycoin  Grin

I am so fucking done with this that the heat death of the universe will occur before I give a single fuck about this vacuous drama one more time.
My last words on this topic: there are quite a few toxic people in this community.

And to be sure: I am not 2 different people when in a official marketing setting and not. But the ONLY thing was worthy of criticism was my use of SWEAR WORDS. The rest was 100% on point 100% justified. The guy was bashing NXT all over reddit with blatant lies. Claiming we hold NXT off exchanges to inflate the price. That we're all in a premine scam etc.

The ONLY thing you can critize is the usage of swear words and *that* is something I have the full right to do in my personal life, but wouldn't do in a official setting. Just like you don't walk around with a suit on in your home, but you do so in the proper setting. That is a completely differente matter.
The fact that I have to sit here and defend myself over this is just fucking stupid and I wont do it anymore.

Conclusion: people in this community needs to get their shit together and stop worrying about what language a person use in his PERSONAL comments when not representing NXT in any shape way or form. Jesus

If you want to comment as a person, go ahead.
Then don't do it from your subreddit moderator account. Take off the digital suit.

Also, if you want to behave in a way that reflects badly on the Nxt community, go ahead, but then don't act surprised if people call you on it.

Because Í and others have to talk in those threads too! And Í and others get called on that behaviour!

Remember all the people who got into trouble with their jobs because of "personal" comments on their Facebook pages? Go tell thém the story about how you can totally separate personal and non-personal. Google is your friend there.

You are misrepresenting my points by trying to make it something petty as "swear words". My my.
I have tried to deal fairly, and I said this would not go down well. Well, that's certainly true.

I'm done with talking to you about this, as it's clear you are unwilling to even listen.

And that's a pity. You've done good things and still do. I agree with some points and some not. That shouldn't matter. But clearly you don't like to be contradicted.

746  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Nxt marketing & promotion :: Infographics and Articles Bounties on: February 28, 2014, 03:13:53 PM
Of course, I have worked in sales and marketing. This wasn't any "official NXT" marketing. This was a goddamn subreddit comment, nothing else, nothing more.
I was not in any shape, way or form representing myself as any "official NXTer", I was a random FUTURISM enthusiast discussing cryptos in a futurology subreddit. HUGE difference.
Just because people work on NXT does not mean they should in all areas of their life adopt this centralized personality.

If this had been a marketing gig then it would be completely different. Too much drama in this community.

You are visible as a moderator of the /r/Nxt subreddit. For people this means you are at least more representative than a normal member.

The point I'm making is not that you are "official" or not. It's that it doesn't help, and then you try to blame it on the others. Sorry, that doesn't wash.

This is the internet. People are bound to disagree. You seem to take it almost personally.

The drama is not caused by people trying to point this out, by the way. Don't try to turn this around and make it about the people disagreeing with your way of posting.

Yes, I totally disagree with the way you blow up at people. Especially because you are in the promotion group. If you are in there, and basically show one face when in marketing, but then a totally other when private, that worries me rather a lot.

This is the thread to talk about these things. It's about the ways we do things. If you want to do that somewhere else, great, but they are important to speak out loud instead of just avoiding them because we're afraid of a bit of a fight.
747  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Nxt marketing & promotion :: Infographics and Articles Bounties on: February 28, 2014, 01:52:10 PM
Agreed, but if they don't repay I say we spam all over that they stole from us and is utterly incompetent for not even being able to put NXT on their exchange like so many other exchanges.

Nah, the reddit hatred for NXT is ridiculous
The guy claime we artifically kept NXT off exchanges on purpose to increase the price. As someone who is wokringhard and already succeeded in getting NXT on several exchanges, I will not tolerate that.
If he got hit by a bus I would feel worse for the bus

How old are you?

So you are suggesting that there is something immature about

a) Letting people know that mintpal is scamming people by stealing thousands of dollars ?
and
b) Letting off steam on someone who made up countless lies and then went on a spamming spree all over the cryptocurrency subreddits regarding NXT being a scam?

You must be new to this game, the NXT hatred in the crypto community is overwhelming and as someone who has had to put up with it for 2.5 months I am sick and tired of it, because it never ever ends.

I'm going to be terribly blunt here, but a marketeer or sales rep who loses his cool is the one that sells jack.
Shouting at anyone in any professional atmosphere is a sure fire way to get fired or lose your commission.

It's a sign of not having a clear view of what your objectives are, which should be to present your product/cause/whatever in as positive a light as possible.

YOU are the face to the outside world. YOU are the one people are going to be thinking of when they hear Nxt.

Enthousiasm means nothing when it turns into a shouting match because you can't handle that people might not be as "in" to the product you love.

I know this is probably not going to go down well with you, but I am not going to sugarcoat it. Being in marketing means swallowing your feelings of wanting to strangle someone and putting them aside for the long term view.

did you try all the different board themes with nxtcrypto?
Maybe I'll look for it and'll try it someday. I like use things "as is" very often.

Please try out the "prosilver" theme at least, before making a judgement.

It is SO much better and will probably be a mind-changer Smiley

I sent a similar message to salsa two days ago but haven't gotten a response, so I'm paraphrasing and posting here.

The Toronto BitcoinExpo site has been updated:  http://bitcoinexpo.ca/

There's a lot more info than there was last week.  The expo is April 11-13.

I offered some time ago to go to this conference, but haven't had anything firm nailed down, and no funding has been officially set aside for the venture.

What strategy might we employ for it?  We're not likely to get on the speakers' list (I've had no contact with Anthony Di Iorio, but he seems to be hand-picking speakers and it's all VERY BTC-centric).  We *could* go in as a sponsor, OR as an exhibitor.

An exhibitor spot costs $2500 CDN (which we can pay in BTC) and allows us to bring promo materials; a standard ticket for Sat/Sun is $200 CDN; and I haven't checked flights in the last week but we're still likely around $700 CDN to get from where I live to the expo.

We could also become a sponsor.  Paying $2000 lets us bring ONE promo item.

An easy-win promo item would be a version of the tri-fold brochure currently being built for the Texas conference.

Without being a sponsor or exhibitor, we cannot bring promotional materials.

What are the community's thoughts?

Exhibitor space is 45,000 Nxt, if I calculated correctly?
And sponsor 37,000 Nxt?

Just trying to get a feel for the numbers.

This is a month and a half away, so time to prepare, which is good.

What do you think, joefox?

I myself am FOR sponsor spots, IF we go in and make use of that status. Can we do this together with jefdiesels faucet plan? https://nextcoin.org/index.php/topic,3441.0.html
And yes, brochures etc. too, of course.

I still think that's a great way to actually generate Nxt users, which is the kind of ROI we need.

Can we try to make this deliberation based on an actual plan? *gasps of shock* Wink

So, yes, provided we make use of it and make some stuff. EvilDave and I will need the same stuff, so we might as well pool resources here.

Thoughts?

Proof?

are you retarded? cos than i understand.

No, I am not.
I am just asking you to prove these accounts belong to Graviton/DGEX, because I honestly don't see it.

just block him. him calling you retarded for asking for proof for an extraordinary claim is clearly trolling. dont feed trolls.

I have a policy never to block people, unless they are truly harassing me. I've often been surprised by contributions, even by trolls.
Calling me retarded is the least of my worries Smiley

However, if it disrupts the thread too much, I can stop feeding the troll.

Texas Bitcoin Conference NXT Marketing Brochure

I would like to thank bitcoinpaul, w4llace, LiQio, EvilDave and especially mvag for their prompt and generous assistance in revising my primitive, clumsy attempt at an NXT marketing brochure into this thing of beauty:

http://nxt.sx/images/resources/NXT-Brochure-4.pdf

Small typo: It's Johns Hopkins University, not John Hopkins.

Just joining to correct this type-o shows COMMITMENT!

Well done, sir  Grin

rickyjames, will you please post a link to that final NXT trifold brochure with the John(s) typo corrected?
The file has been corrected for the "Johns" typo and is now located at the same and link as above / before.

Poofknuckle, in my eyes you are as big a member of the brochure team now as anybody with your typo catch.  We want very much to get on the Zerocash team's good side, and correctly spelling their home institution is (duh) important.  Thanks.

I love you.

I just like to say that shouting matches on reddit do not help, even if people don't have their facts straight...

I just read a shitload of posts over there that showed Nxt as a bunch of wankers that will gouge out your eyes with a rusty spoon as soon as you say anything negative about it.

Please restrain yourself, even if the opponent does not :/

I've never had problems with people on reddit.
I even turned a few discussions around by just talking and discussing.

Even if they want to bash, why respond in kind? I will certainly not help Nxt and is bad for your heart Cheesy

Welcome to the wonderful world of non-native speakers.

I am on board with you, too.
Sorry, but Yoda-talk is not helping at all.
As I said: people are actively reaching out here. So move a bit, too, BCNext.

I can understand if CfB is contractually obliged not to tell anything, but BCNext is reading this, too.

And I would like to appeal to change your way of wanting to go ahead by sharing more information with the people who are developing here.
I don't need this info myself, so even do it via PM if need be, but change!

It's a simple matter of changing your mind, because the circumstances have changed.

Could you describe the nature of these changes?

I am still very satisfied with the development.

The nature would be giving answers to developers who are obviously stuck when trying to figure out if the current TF will be the TF we will be dealing with in April.

There is much unclear about this, so I see developers asking questions whether or not things will be implemented or if they will be working with the current set of "rules".

If you operate under the assumption that "full" TF will be implemented in April and then you get an ambiguous message that says "you have to develop it yourselves, maybe" that creates an atmosphere were no one is certain of what to do anymore.

If then people ask clarification and all they get back is "maybe" or "you need to dig deeper" that doesn't help. A simple "yes" or "no" isn't that hard.

If you also get the message  that BCNext is "disappointed" that would top it for me. You can't pronounce judgment without providing the parameters on which that judgement is based. That's like telling someone he failed a test without also telling him the system of scoring. It just makes people feel bad and at the same time you don't hand them the tools to work at it or to decide the actual judgement isn't even valid in the first place.

So basically what I am asking is for BCNext to abandon his policy of vagueness and just give clear answers if qualified people ask them.

I ask this not from my expertise in computers, but from my expertise as a group worker and out of concern. Several people have already expressed extreme frustration. This is something to take seriously, especially because these are people who have proven to be committed and not lazy.

Edit: I would like to add that CfB may be contractually obliged to not share. I do not know this. I am describing what I am seeing here and hoping it will be taken to heart. As said: all this vagueness comes at a huge cost. I add that it isn't needed.
760  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NXT :: descendant of Bitcoin - Updated Information on: February 27, 2014, 03:27:19 PM
CfB, is this the case? Was this part of your contract with BCNext?

I know that Cunicula proposed to use ur scheme but BCNext went another way and there was a reason for that.

What was the reason?
Transparency please...
otherwise it is a very good example why people get frustrated: they try to improve things, but then you say that things are done the way they are done, because BCNext decided to do it that way. But why?

U'll get the reason if u dive deeper. I won't reveal it, sorry.

Perfect... Thanks.
How do you expect the community to take over, when you hold back informations...?

It seems that I am the only one having issues with this.
So maybe it's the best to lean back and watch as none of my initiatives have gthered attention so far.

No.  I am right there with you and so are many others.  But leaning back to watch what happens next seems to be the only "action" we can take until the source code is released and becomes OURS, not THEIRS.

I am on board with you, too.
Sorry, but Yoda-talk is not helping at all.
