Hello DNotes team, I am very pleased with the work that you have done. I am new as owner of the Note currency. I did not intend to spend much time with her, but after reading and knowing the project ... I changed my mind. I was very pleased with it, I'm excited about CRISPs (CryptoCurrency Investment Savings Plan). Congratulations.

Welcome to the DNotes forum, Rusmaker. We are happy for you and believe that you make the right choice. CRISPs are amazing creations of Chase who is very committed to educate and encourage everyone to start saving as early as possible. We feel strongly that digital currency, in particular, DNotes is a generational opportunity for everyone to participate, not withstanding just a small an amount one can save on a regular basis. With DNotes 2.0 coupled with DNotesVault and our innovative POS (Proof of Stake) and interest/reward systems long-term DNotes stakeholders can earn a healthy rate of return without having to struggle with a lot of technical challenges common with other coins.

DNotes is different. The more people get to understand what DNotes is about; the more impressed they are. We are totally committed to building a trusted brand which we believe is crucial for DNotes to be successful and eventually gained mass acceptance worldwide. It takes time, unrelenting commitments, and unending dedication. We have been doing this for 3 1/2 years. With comments like yours, we can go on forever. Thank you very much for your kind words.

Check out this new video where my friend is talking about DNotes. His previous video had almost 8000 views. A nice video to spread just a little more attention to this beautiful project and give some extra confidence to (potential) investors. Attention is paid to DNotes from ten and a half minutes.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uRTE7gb6OT0

Thank you, Edgar John, for sharing your friend’s comments on DNotes potential. There is no better time to be so optimistic. We are very disciplined, strategic, and committed to our vision of building DNotes as the trusted global digital currency for everyone worldwide to participate. That is a big bold vision of global scale and scope. We can’t change the world but we are committed to make a difference. Hence, we have been building our own ecosystem, on our own dime, irrespective of any short-term or near-term payoff. We are different and doing things that we believe are most strategic and in the best interest of everyone over the long term. As your friend pointing out, DNotes’ community is amazing. They are our inspiration to always do the right thing and treat everyone with respect.

Our ecosystems are like building blocks and they are all strategically linked. For the last 3 ½ years we have been building them block by block – CryptoMoms, whole family of CRISPs (CryptoCurrency Investment Savings Plan) DNotesVault, DCEBrief, DNotesEDU (built and funded by volunteers) a business book – “Improve Your Odds - The Four Pillars of Business Success” with over 50 videos currently being produced, and DNotes Global, Inc. These are what we have done beyond just DNotes the digital currency. There will be many more but the major projects are listed on our road-map HERE: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1924858.0

The next major building block is DNotes 2.0; paving our way to be a significant technology leader. Within a year we expect to reach 100% conversion in C# - very significant for our target market – the corporate world. My business book, CRISP for Retirement, and CRISP for Employees Incentive Benefits will all play an important role as a package.

Our shift from POW to POS will give DNotesVault the opportunity to shine because of its capabilities. Ease of use and security with matching guarantee funds have been the hallmarks of DNotesVault.  I expect that additional features for ease of earning staking rewards and others will be very impressive.

For these and more reasons your friend could well be on the marks.

Updates on Poloniex:

Great news. My two pending DNotes withdrawals at Poloniex have been successfully completed. If you had pending DNotes withdrawal or deposit please check and share with us on their status. Thanks.

My withdrawal went through as well!  Smiley

Excellent. Looks like they must have been overwhelmed and forgot that their primary mission in business is to take the best care of their customers.

Four Pillars Promotional Video.

What is your business missing that makes Jack Ma, Bill Gates, & Jeff Bezos companies so successful?

Yet another inspiring video. And the message was really clear. It seems such an obvious thing once it is said, but there are so many businesses that focus on just a couple of areas. Some do this because they don't recognise other aspects of their business as being important, or even existing. While others plan to review them some day, but are always too busy dealing with current issues.

While I was obtaining a development grant for a business through a state government in Australia, they sent out a business analysis team to do an audit. I was really impressed with their scope and approach. They didn't just look at the product, its production, and its marketing. The looked at all of the other supporting systems with in the business. To do this they had a set of questionnaires that had checkbox answers. This allowed them to include this company's answers in a body of data which it then used to benchmark our performance in every area. I learnt so much through this process.

Since then I've been watching technology facilitate more and more integration and automation of business processes. So while I agree that every part of the business needs to be running at optimum performance, I like Alan's analogy of a car because that is a fantastic example of how the integration of these parts into a seamless whole is just as important. A great purchasing department should not only get its job done well, it should provide market information, and news to the marketing team. For example, the purchasing department receives an innovative brochure from a supplier. It should go to the marketing team to learn about this new design trend.

The purchasing team should also be linked to the Human Resources team so that it can use its buying power to benefit the staff. I've seen suppliers offer goodies to companies like wholesale teabags at half price. The offer should go out to staff so that they can benefit. Or you've got a great deal to upgrade your work laptops, offer the staff to buy-in at that price as well.

And each part of the business should be looking for new ways to use its unique position so that it benefits as many other parts of the company as possible.

Great review, Tim. Thanks.

It's fair to say that only a minority of businesses, anywhere, are truly successful. 80% of start-ups failed in the first ten years causing a lot of pain and suffering. I absolutely believe that many of them could have been successful if they only know how. We cannot be just good at a few things. We must be exceptional and very good all around if we want to be the best in class. I am on a mission to help improve the ratio of business success to business failures. Over 50 videos are being produced for my book website "Improve Your Odds - The Four Pillars of Business Success" and membership is free till the end of 2019. Be sure to sign up soon:https://fourpillarsofbusinesssuccess.com/

Everyone can learn something valuable. Please like and share my videos when you can. Thanks.

Thank you goopuss, SCeeYong, and TeeGee for sharing your unfortunate experience concerning Poloniex customer support on pending DNotes withdrawal. Six weeks without a reply is troubling.

I have two pending withdrawals for about a week and have written to their management without a response. Does any one know if some other coins have the same issues? Please let us know if you do. I am travelling today but will check back later.

Any particular reason why Dnotes has been falling so badly as of today?

I noticed that the sell side has increased by 1 million as the price of DNotes dropped. The added supply may be the contributing factor, since everything else is fine. We are making great progress with DNotes 2.0 development.

Thanks, Dnotes fall from the high has been pretty big, hopefully 2.0 will renew an upward trend.

You are welcome, Optimza. DNotes is significantly under-valued compared to some of our industry peers. I trust that it will change fairly quickly with the launch of DNotes 2.0 followed by a major PR campaign.

Congress May Be Considering Cryptocurrency Protections

https://dcebrief.com/congress-may-be-considering-cryptocurrency-protections/

If this is true, it would be good news for currencies like DNotes that have always operated with respect for the law.

"Given that the story relies entirely upon unnamed sources, it is probably reasonable to view it with a healthy dose of skepticism." -  Considering that the Daily Caller specifically mentioned one coin name in particular that Congress was focusing on, and it's such an unknown currency, perhaps that is the source of the information...  Wink

This is still way too early to speculate, but if true, could benefit DNotes. I like the following as quoted: “the law needs to be changed to protect digital currencies from federal government harassment to make sure that a complaint currency can be backed by value, the currency cannot be treated like a security or investment, and that transfers are protected against taxation. The bottom line is that Congress needs to remove all the obstacles to a vibrant digital currency that has voluntarily taken the initiative to keep the bad guys from using it.” (unnamed source)

There is some risk that if the wrong regulatory regime gets adopted in the U.S., then the center of innovation could move to other countries. If blockchains are the next internet, that would be a very unfortunate development for the U.S.

I certainly agree with David Sacks, former Paypal COO. The following article is worth reading:

Bitcoin, Cryptocurrencies Fulfill PayPal’s Original Goal, Says Ex PayPal COO

Francisco Memoria on 18/08/2017

Bitcoin has slowly been challenging PayPal. Recently, CCN reported that bitcoin topped PayPal’s market cap after breaking $4,000 for the first time, and soaring past a $70 billion market cap. Back in 2016, PayPal announced it appointed the founder and CEO of Xapo, Wences Casares, to its board of directors.

As bitcoin surpasses PayPal, CNBC’s Eric Jackson caught up with former PayPal COO David Sacks, known in Silicon Valley as an entrepreneur and an early investor in various companies such as Facebook, SpaceX, Uber, and Airbnb.

Bitcoin is Creating “The New World Currency”
The conversation started off with a question regarding Sacks’ take on the rise of digital currencies. The entrepreneur stated that after PayPal he never thought payments would interest him again, but notably stated that bitcoin is fulfilling PayPal’s original vision. According to David Sacks, in PayPal’s early days the team believed that if enough people got involved, money would never had to leave its systems, but revealed that the vision ended when eBay acquired the company.

He stated:
“But cryptocurrencies like bitcoin are now fulfilling that original vision. They are doing it in a decentralized way (with a decentralized database called the blockchain) whereas PayPal tried to do it in a centralized way.”

Furthermore, Sacks revealed that to him, it feels like we’re witnessing the birth of a new kind of web, the decentralized web, or the internet of money. In it, blockchain technology is being used to create decentralized apps, and to fund new startups through Initial Coin Offerings (ICOs). This means the all the ingredients needed for a new wave of innovation are there, but it also “feels reminiscent” to the dot-com era, as it is revolutionary that money is being made programmable, but there is “speculative excess and random enrichment.”

Poloniex statement on ICOs and tokens:

August 17, 2017
TOKEN LISTING POLICY REMINDER

In light of the SEC’s recent Investigative Report on TheDAO, we would like to remind our users and the broader community of our policies for listing tokens on the Poloniex platform.

We respect and follow all applicable laws and regulations, including U.S. securities laws. The SEC's report discussed the application of securities laws to blockchain tokens, and we appreciate the SEC's guidance and the respect shown for our growing industry. We also now have further confirmation that our onboarding policies are well-founded, since we apply the same “Howey test” factors to each token listed on our platform.

As part of our compliance processes, we periodically assess listed tokens, and some may end up delisted as a result. In the process of undertaking this review, we may find that although a token is unlikely to be a security, it may still warrant delisting because liquidity, volume, and overall community involvement may be too minimal to warrant continued support on our platform.

We will continue to comply with U.S. securities law. We will also continue to assess new tokens that seek to trade on our platform and monitor those already listed. We will not list tokens that are securities. We will delist any tokens already on our exchange if we come to believe they are securities, whether that be by changing interpretation of the law or changes in how the tokens and underlying networks function over time.

- The Poloniex Team

Unfortunately, SEC’s recent Investigative Report on the DAO ICO is having a ripple effect.

Thanks for posting this article here.

Our team have all been active in the crypto industry for ~4 years, and in the case of Joe, a little more. DNotes itself is about 3.5 years old, launched in Feb 2014. In that time we have taken a vastly different approach to most other cryptocurrency projects. As a part of planning our strategic road map, we have looked into the work those around us are doing. There is a lot of talent in the cryptocurrency industry, bu many here will be aware that 95% of the projects that are launching won't ever release a viable product (like nearly any ICO). Part of keeping up with the happenings in the cryptospace has been researching what other people are doing, and this has led to us believing that building relationships with other trustworthy and competent groups in the industry will also be great for DNotes, and there is even potential that we may work with other groups that we build these relationships with in the future.

Syscoin have a long-term approach similar to DNotes - their product fills a key function, they don't create false hype, they have a company and verifiable faces behind their product, a loyal following, and competent development team. This made them great for the first coin analysis article. I will be writing more of these coin appraisals over the next few weeks while I continue to work on the DNotes 2.0 whitepaper, and I'm more than willing to give fair appraisal to worthwhile and trustworthy projects that others in this forum recommend. I don't hold any other crypto than DNotes, which basically means I have no conflict of interest anywhere I look. So feel free to send me by private message your suggestions (with reasons why)!

Good article, great series! As with DNotes, I have held Syscoin almost since the first coins appeared in the blockchain. As you say, they are very professional and honest. They don't promise things they can't deliver and the value of their projects raises almost daily. It would be interesting if DNotes and Syscoin explored ways to work together since they do compliment each other. That would be a cool relationship, a real "win/win"

Great suggestion, RJF. If we were to develop a list of potential partners we want to collaborate in special projects, Syscoin would be on our very short list. With so much going 2018 could be a great year for some partnerships.

Great idea and analysis, Tim. Most people don't know what to look for in a cryptocurrency investment (inside and outside the industry), and for those that do, chances are they don't have the time to sort through a thousand of them. Paying attention to what has been going on the last four years with other currencies gives DNotes a distinct advantage, and I would feel very comfortable narrowing my own research, analysis, and potential investment to the handful selected by any member of the DNotes team. Thanks Tim, for all the time this will save us.  Smiley

I thought Tim did an excellent job too. Our industry can certainly benefit from such an informative and analytical article. Hope he can do a few more.

Congratulations on the speaking spot. I already know that I'll be missing out on this one. But I'm hoping some of it will end up on Youtube or similar. I'm especially keen to lean more about what DNotes has in store for VC. There is such a massive and dangerous hole in the VC landscape around unregulated ICO-style VC with millions of dollars pouring into it. The sooner someone develops a safe and accountable infrastructure that automatically steps start-ups through a transparent vetting process the better.

I'm also really curious about the implementation of DNotes 2.0 that enables "...many innovative blockchain applications and smart contracts using DNotes blockchain..." This makes it look like it will incorporate a turing-complete language. If it does, I hope DNotes Global Inc do something really clever in providing some sort of shared library database for code addresses.

Thanks, Tim.  Regarding my speech at the World Funding Summit, I certainly hope at least some video clips will be made available. I have been drafting the bullet points for submission and approval. It will be exciting. I used to speak to large audience quite often when I was the CEO of Dauphin Technology.

There is such a massive and dangerous hole in the VC landscape around unregulated ICO-style VC with millions of dollars pouring into it. The sooner someone develops a safe and accountable infrastructure that automatically steps start-ups through a transparent vetting process the better.”

Tim, you are correct.  I couldn’t have said it better. DNotes NextGen VC is committed to a different business model. Current ICOs are almost exclusively for cryptocurrency projects based on a newly conceived idea laid out on a “white paper”, often with stunning graphics. It is nearly impossible to verify any claims. Yet tens of millions have been raised in a very short period of time, despite the fact that most of the ICOs are not in compliance with existing security laws on the book. Of course, many will continue to argue otherwise.

Our business model is a little different. We will be focusing in working with established companies with excellent growth and profit potential in the presence of adequate funding and great management skills coupled with best use of blockchain technologies and smart contracts. There will be some participation in highly selective new projects based on truly great ideas.

We believe that, while more burdensome, it is possible to have ICOs that are in compliance with existing regulations utilizing side-by-side Equity Crowdfunding (Reg CF) and Regulation D Offerings limited to accredited investors. Reg CF is currently limited to $1 million but serious efforts are involved to raise it to $5 million.

DNotes 2.0 blockchain will be our ideal platform in issuing new tokens for those projects DNotes Global is involved with equity participation. My book is one of the building blocks that will contribute immense value to our success. I am very committed to help small investors and small business owners. ICO is our best tool to help accomplish our missions. But it must be done the right way and in compliance with regulations. Reasonable consumer protection is important to me, but not regulations over-reach.

I rather not get ahead of ourselves regarding DNotes future blockchain applications. As a rule, our model is to give priority to real world applications as mentioned in my previous paragraphs regarding ICOs. At this point it is safe to say that our business model will be different than Ethereum. I can elaborate more at another time. Meanwhile, anyone interested to learn more about what DNotes has been doing and why – it is very helpful to check out my interview with CEO/CFO magazine: http://www.ceocfointerviews.com/interviews/DNotesGlobal17.htm

Sony Creates Blockchain Platform for Student Data

https://dcebrief.com/sony-creates-blockchain-platform-for-student-data/

Thanks for bringing this new use of blockchain to my attention, Chase. Moving from Australia to Cambodia, I've noticed many cultural differences. But the one that stands out most is how much they value education in Cambodia. I feel like there is a direct correlation between the future success of a country, and how much education is valued at both a cultural and political level. So I'm very pleased to see Sony working in this area.

I'm also keen to see how they manage associating identity with education outcomes. If done well, this could do more than facilitate coordination between institutions and give confidence to employers. It could raise the recognition and social value of education itself.

I'm imagining an education image layer that can be placed over your avatar wherever you have a presence online. The status of having proven your knowledge and skills could then make obtaining and verifying more skills very attractive. We wear jewellery as a symbol of status. Wouldn't it be great to introduce new types of status identifiers based on things other than wealth? I've often considered a similar type of online jewellery for annual donations as a percentage of income. And I wonder how different society will be when social responsibility and education gain as much admiration as wealth does.

Hi Tim. All the credit for this news brief belongs to Ken Chase, not this Chase.  Grin

I was shocked a year or two ago when I read about the the amount of fraud in student records.

My dream for education would be that relevance is restored and students are no longer graduating $50,000 in debt with a Bachelor of nothing useful degree. Another pet peeve is that even for a useful program, there is no limit on the number of people that are 'free' to take the program (after paying full tuition, lol), even if the job openings are slim. In Canada two thirds of new teaching graduates cannot find a job, and every year thousands of new graduates are added to that list.

On a positive note, I love that anyone around the world regardless of their wealth status can obtain a free education online from some of the top universities in the world. It also allows people to tailor their education to what they want, even if it is a few courses in a variety of areas (and from a variety of institutions) that interest them.

I agree that it is a great step in verifying that what you claim to have is actually true, but I'm not sure if it says any more than that. My real education began after I finished school...   Smiley

Mounting student loan debts, coupled with raising unemployment for new college graduates, are very damaging to many young people. It has a very negative impact on new household formation and our economy.

Ha, thanks for letting me know.

[...]

I really do understand what you mean by your real education began after school. My life has been very similar. I've held a lot of positions that typically require a degree in something, but I've been mostly self-taught.

There is still a huge problem with associating qualifications with worthy identities. Some of it is as simple as fraud where the degree holder bought the fake certificate. This is enabled by Universities often making it difficult, tedious, or expensive to verify a qualification. Then there are those genuine qualifications given to real people by institutions that pass students rather than lose out on fees. Or institutions that don't have the capability of delivering content and verifying competence effectively. This is enabled because there is no effective system in place for identifying these rogue providers.

And lastly, as a writer, I'm am approached on a daily basis by students wanting me to write their assignments for them. When I was providing services in Excel, I had even more offers to produce work required for their assessment. So even good universities are providing genuine qualifications to people who can't prove their competency.

The good news is that we're rapidly moving towards an age where all of these problems can be solved. I like the idea of separating the content delivers from the competency assessors that award the qualifications. This would also benefit self-educators like us, who through broad life experience have the knowledge and would benefit from an efficient process that would recognise these skills formally.

"I really do understand what you mean by your real education began after school."

I certainly agree. And it also applies to those with graduate and postgraduate degrees. I have a BS in Behavioral Science and a MBA but that only gave a better starting point. It is one's commitment to be the most knowledge in anything that you are passionate about that makes a difference.

Yeah, agreed. Sweet article; dope headline and accompanying image.

I was wary of the falling knife stuff during the the August 1 forking event. I was hearing a lot of internet opinion in favor of moving as much altcoin as possible into bitcoin to maximize the amount of bitcoin cash. I thought that made sense, but as hedge against bitcoin potentially cratering, I only moved half of my alts into btc.

Turns out the right move would have been to do it all. But I wanted to still have skin in the game in case the Y2K-like fears actually came to pass. Wish I'd loaded up on more btc than I did. But I'm generally in a little bit too deep anyway, though I'm not exactly a risk-averse person.

Supeerrrrr looking forward to launch of DNotes 2.0. Looking at the price action of something like NEO, aka Antshares 2.0, leaves me feeling very bullish about the short term prospects of NOTE. In addition, of course, to value of the long term visioning that is always at the forefront of all DNotes decision-making.

Like Zuck said once back in the day, "I'm here to build for the long term. Anything else is just a distraction."

Trust that you had a great vacation with your lovely family, MiningHabit. It was good to see your posts on Facebook.

DNotes is very committed to its long term vision. Many building blocks have been laid. Once we start gaining momentum, it could be unstoppable.

Thanks for the quote of the day, "I'm here to build for the long term. Anything else is just a distraction."

Yes it was a really nice time, albeit entirely too short. It's definitely crystallized for us that our next chapter will begin in Portland. We are very ready to live there. It's a very different culture and pace of life, one I really appreciate, without the insane cost of living that plagues a lot of the rest of the West Coast's metropolis areas.

Super excited for 2.0, and as ever, look forward to keeping in touch! w00t!

I assume that you mean Portland, Maine (not Portland, Oregon). Yes, I love that place - especially the live lobsters and other fresh sea food.

DNotes 2.0 is looking good. Very excited about it myself.

Looks like the trading of BTC has swinged away from PoloniEx to Asian exchanges !
This will definitely have a significant impact on BTC/NOTE (NOTE/BTC) volume/price on PoloniEx as well.
To achieve growth, it will be difficult to ignore the Chinese/Korean/Japanese (or Asian ) markets, even for DNotes.
Also wondering where (looking for a more efficient exchanger other than PoloniEx) I can buy my DNotes now??

Great work, SCeeYong. The Asian Pacific region will be among our new areas of focus soon after DNotes 2.0 is launched. Some early discussion has already started. I am also very interested to have my book "Improve Your Odds - The Four Pillars of Success" translated into Chinese, since Chapter 15 is about digital currency and the DNotes Story. I am also in the process of producing 50 videos with transcripts. All these are keeping me extremely busy, but an important part of our strategies and executions.

DNotes is totally committed to be the trusted digital currency available for everyone worldwide to participate. Our strategies are different because the path that we have chosen is different. The market is becoming very crowded, confusing, and chaotic - and it is still at its infancy. Just consider the history of exchanges in our industry. There has been constant changes in leadership. And before long there will be tens of thousands more ICOs and crypto-currencies. It is already getting too crazy. DNotes is positioned to survive the test of time. It is better to get there slowly and do the right thing at the right time. I have no doubt that DNotes will begin to shine and be discovered next year.

It is not uncommon for people to be dismissive of our significance regardless of our clearly articulated vision of building a trusted digital currency, with meaningful intrinsic value, to meet the full functions of money for everyone worldwide to participate. A few years from now, some will look back and ask how they could have missed something so obvious.

Well, we are now operating in a global environment dominated by instant gratifications and instant responses as lead by social media. If we can’t get it now, we instantly become frustrated, and try something else. As much as we wish, DNotes is not the best fit for every investor at this stage. It is more suited for those who can buy some now and forget about for a few years – especially true with DNotes 2.0 CRISP and staking reward of almost 4% per year coupled with the amazing advantages of DNotesVault.

If you take a good look at DNotes’ ecosystem, you may realize that DNotes has done many things others wouldn’t care to do because of the substantial cost and commitment in time and other resources. We funded every bit of it with our own hard-earned cash because we believe that by virtual of that DNotes, one day, will be in the position to do things than others cannot do.
