dont hodl more than u can afford to lose is the new motto

When a bear market is in: Who panic first panic best.
Prepare for a weekend of doom.

a decent hedge is gold. Find where to trade physical gold for btc back and forth in my sig.

Remember, anything that can fall 30% in two months, can certainly rise 30% in two months as well.  Grin

(*) unless it keeps going down like in 2014.
746  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: With BTC/BU fork around the corner, what would be a good hedge? on: March 24, 2017, 03:39:40 PM
I'm buying some LTC lately. No nonsense, no tricks, no b/s coin. Very well known, liquid (always been in the top 10 by volume), much mined and much undervalued (now still close to an all time bottom in price).
It solved the spam attacks very logically years ago.
It seems to me what BTC should have been.
747  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Moving towards user activated soft fork activation on: March 24, 2017, 02:51:31 PM
Or in other words, one more time: UASF without mining majority can never succeed, because it's against the nature of bitcoin.
Anyone who doesn't understand this simple fact is not really a very smart bitcoin developer.

Hey Piotr, welcome back. I still miss your Goxbot. Why don't you make a new one for some major exchange?

Imho what is wrong with Bitcoin is that there are no incentives for full nodes. If a part (or all, why not) of the Tx fees where distributed to full nodes (maybe according the tx relayed by each one) we would have a much stronger network of some order of magnitudes more full nodes. Moreover the game would be much more fair since anyone with a consumer grade puter could gain like in the good old times.

I already made this same proposal here years ago but nobody cared. Maybe now someone will?

It's not the ETF, it's the civil war.  Sad to say but BTC needs to sort it's shit out one way or another, or it's still looking a risky buy.

Indeed. They're conspiring a 51% attack:

https://medium.com/@peter_r/on-the-emerging-consensus-regarding-bitcoins-block-size-limit-insights-from-my-visit-with-2348878a16d8#.z04dwl4gv

No wonder that the market is spooked.
749  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: March 24, 2017, 11:35:34 AM
Ok, kids. Cards on the table. Where is the bottom? Or where's the next move up to if there's no dump?
Specifics, please. Then it will be clear who was right and who was wrong after the fact.

my highest bids are now around $ 850, 800, 780, except for the pongs of my trading bot.

751  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Litecoin - a lite version of Bitcoin. Launched! on: March 24, 2017, 10:04:16 AM
Keep accumulating guys. The several years' crossing of the bear market desert with your bags full of LTC is near to end.
LTC seems to me the most undervalued cryptocoin on the market, while it has no FUD, nonsense, and tricks.
Just don't sell too soon when it starts pumping.
752  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: March 23, 2017, 12:54:11 PM
exactly..but if you HOLD both ....one wins one loses...you will have NO less then 100 coins that you started with ....either BTC or BTU as a winner...then again....the coins after

unless it's a lose-lose game.
If there is no bomb-proof protection from replay attacks (and there is not afaik) you could not move your coins on a chain without risking that they get moved on the other:

on the technical side:

I might buy back in if this shit sorts itself out - but this is one hell of a self-inflicted clusterfuck right now, it is not a conspiracy.

Bitcoin. Did. This. To. Itself.

+1. Totally agree. And congratulations for picking the top.

BTC can crash as hard as it rise, and both fundamental (the horrible BU mess) and technical alignments (the 100-200 day SMA crossing for one) are now suggesting to exit.

Personally I liquidated just about 13% of my coins because I am a pathological hodler, but I'm quite sure of what is incoming.

Per me qualche grossa bolla dovra' presto scoppiare. Aumenti del 70-100-170% a settimana non mi sembrano molto sostenibili.

Technically it looks like a bottom.

Mi sono già messo il cuore in pace per un Sub 500 USD.
