Looks like Litecoin is on its way to activate SegWit, almost at 50% now for the last 8064 blocks. The market also seems to like it. Bitcoin next? Where do you see that? http://litecoinblockhalf.com/segwit.php

I think it'll be way safer for BTC to go into Segwit, after LTC does.
It's unlikely to find all possible bugs on BTC's testnet, so LTC can serve as a test platform.

It's not the ETF, it's the civil war. Sad to say but BTC needs to sort it's shit out one way or another, or it's still looking a risky buy.

It's an obvious test, I agree. Segwit isn't coming soon on BTC as it stands now anyway. Hopefully LTC going smoothly will be a catalyst for some change in the weather.

Man, wish I has some $$ left, I'd be buying right now. Me too. In 7 days i have some fiat money again I will buy the shit out of this 1. I am wondering what all those people are thinking. That bitcoin will never rise again or that altcoins will have a non stop rise without dumps to the floor?

"The others" are being levitated right now. Much like the stock market. When you're the only whale in a small market, and you can apply maximum leverage, then you can levitate it ad infinitum.

Yeah investors clearly don't like this situation, especially with BU now calling to attack Bitcoin Core miners before a fork happens to force them to upgrade. Not going to work of course but this kind of hostile behavior is definitely making people flee to fiat or other alts now. I think we'll be seeing even lower prices until this has been resolved.

Source on the miners saying this? Did they mention what hash they wanted before they started? Super curious about this situation. There's something that just isn't adding up ...

Bitcoin down... Time to convert all altcoins to bitcoin... This hour might not come back again. Bitcoin is easily able to recover from all the threats, and make some great come-backs within a few hours after every little crash.

I was a little bit confused because I had thought that seg wit had already been activated in Litecoin, but I see that it has not. Regarding seg wit consensus activation threshold in litecoin, it appears that they have chosen a 75% consensus level for their activation, so yeah, it does seem that chances are pretty decent that seg wit will be activated in litecoin in the near future... so then, possibly that could allow for some development around seg wit and to see how it plays out, at least in terms of litecoin's ecosphere.

And then they look back and say, "Why wasn't I buying then?" or "I should have bought then."

But.... this is exactly why no one buys at the bottom. And then they look back and say, "Why wasn't I buying then?" or "I should have bought then." Exactly! And this is why people complaining that the miners are late don't seem to get a simple point: If the miners had been shipped 3 months earlier then the EXACT SAME THING would have happened to difficulty/profitability 3 months earlier. What people are really saying is "I should have invested/gotten my miner early AND NO ONE ELSE GOT IN/ONE!". Which is a bit weird. C

Indeed. They're conspiring a 51% attack:
Would anyone seriously preparing a 51% attack tell everyone about it beforehand? Or is this just scare tactics?

Indeed. They're conspiring a 51% attack:
Would anyone seriously preparing a 51% attack tell everyone about it beforehand? Or is this just scare tactics? I think it's actually smart to do, from the perspective of the attacker. You're essentially saying: I'm doing this. You can get on board now, or suffer later. I.e. by trailing it, you actually help yourself by getting more miners on board in the early stages.
