To me, the first BTC bubble to $32 was very much like the dot com boom. Very little substance to support the price at the time.
However, look at the dom com's now. The Google, Apple, Amazon, Ebay of the world. Game changers. Technological adoption is not a clear and easy path. There will be corrections and bumps in the road but if the tech is solid, in time it will be adopted. If anything, your example of the internet shows the potential of Bitcoin, not its demise.

See title. How long does the price need to be stable before you'll buy back in? Is this a bear trap? Is the subsequent run up a bull trap?
I sold at $45.50 and I am very hesitant to buy back in above what I sold at. I think I will wait at least a week, if not a few weeks, to get back on the train.
After all, if it's going to the stars, what's a few percent profit?
We've seen a million of these threads at different increments. Psychological barriers, retracements, testing old highs, bear trap, bubble, etc. etc. Everyone looking to call a top and so far being wrong. Will someone eventually correctly call a top? Of course, even broken clocks are right twice a day. But really, what's the point of putting so much effort and agonizing over as you say, "a few percent profit." My feeling is you either believe in Bitcoin or you don't. Invest what you can afford to lose, we're still in the early adoption phase for 99% of the population. You can take profits now but really, what is a few hundred or thousand dollars going to do for you? Is it going to change your life? Probably not. The way I see it, either we're part of something really revolutionary or we lose our investment (but we're not investing more than we can afford to lose right? So why sweat it). I'm sure there are many day traders here just to make a buck. That's fine, but those types aren't going to be answering these random polls/threads. You need to ask yourself why you're here and make an investing strategy accordingly. |

One day left for new and existing subs for March.
Next month I'm dropping you if your subscription costs more than my phone with 3gb of data. It's awfully close this month. I think that's part of the idea. By quoting the price in BTC rather than USD, the success of the market causes the subscription business to grow. Also, this encourages people to pay for a year in advance if they have faith in Bitcoin. Personally, I can't afford it any more. $70 a month is a bit too much. Personally, I feel like he would have more subscribers with a lower fee. It's not like he customizes content, so why not put it in as many hands a possible? Like my uncle used to say, all you need to do is build something a 200,000 people will pay $5 a month for to be a millionaire. I feel the same way, the price is getting way too high now. I have a small btc stash but if I were to keep chipping away at it everything month for this subscription I'd either have none left or I'd have to buy way more then I am comfortable with. So I buy as required each month. The question is, where does it stop? Considering Cypher has said before that the target price is $1000/btc we'll soon be looking at $2500/m for this subscription. It was a good subscription and I learned a great deal but unfortunately I won't be able to renew this month. So long and thanks for all the fish as they say. Why dump? A shadowy figure with deep pockets need merely to offer BTC to big players at MtGox price, rather than dumping them on MtGox. Because it's much easier to manipulate a $350 million market vs a multi-billion market. And MtGox has the volume needed in this sort of scheme, you can't get rid of that many coins anyplace else as easily. Either BTC is here to stay or it's not. If it's here to stay, it's easily worth billions of dollars as a phenomenon, thus, "dumping" coins at $30 (that is to say, the bitcoin revolution as we know it is only worth $350 million) would appear sort of foolish.
Irrelevant. This is looking at it from the standpoint of someone like you or I, who wants to see Bitcoin succeed in the long-term. Someone with big pockets could just see an opportunity to make a quick buck. Their bullishness/bearish outlook on Bitcoin doesn't matter if all they're looking to do is make a few hundred thousand and move on. I'm not saying this is actually occurring, I have no idea and as Bitcoin's market cap (for lack of a better word) increases, it further distances itself from being the low hanging fruit by potential market manipulators. But it shouldn't be something easily dismissed either. |

sold about 5 times to them maybe $700 in total no cancellations
have sent them an email twice (once saying everything was going well but i hoped that they would raise limits soon, and the other time about a missing half a bitcoin on my balance) both times received a reply within hours
I'm sure it's a risky business (simple bank transfers are reversible i am sure?) seems they are just being careful with the reports of canceled transfers
ACH transfers are very difficult to reverse after 24 hours or so. |
