They caused hashing problems with bitcoin in the past (>51% hash rate), compared to them clevermining is peanuts... do we really want that?
It wasn't problems with Bitcoin and Ghash/Cex.io was it? It was the fact that they have so much hash added to the network that they could launch an attack but swore they never would. Clevermining is a multipool that only mines when it's most profitable, Cex.io isn't a multipool that works this way I believe?

Is November going to be a good month for Guldencoin? Does anyone know what is planned? I am hoping the algo change takes place this month so the team can keep moving forward with it's plans with iOS.
Every month, even last month, although it didn't look like it to most after September, has been a rather good month in my opinion. I agree with algo-change, that hás to happen. But that and iOS aren't the only things. Someone on the official forums was working on getting NLG in a magazine, LTEX's rebus/puzzels and his projects is also still coming I guess, I am working closely with another community member on something that will nock your socks off and that is just projects that I know of. There are probably some other community members working on projects and products. This is why the team has the time and space to work on the algo, which takes up most of the time. We've seen GJ code live, the beast that he is, we're in good hands. And his last updates about the simulator that he is building to determine the best algo for NLG. Seems to me, we're doing pretty good We could use some good media coverage in NL and more users and miners, but without news or updates, in my opinion, coverage is quite useless. So with new algo, iOS, any of my or other members' projects going live, new merchants, accepting charities etc. etc. November should be good and good coverage in the media can follow shortly. Followed by new users and new miners.

Hi All, I have submitted a feature request to cex.io to have NLG added to it's exchange/cloud mining site. So please Vote! Cex.io is probably one of the safest platforms to trade and use for cloud mining. Please signup and vote for Guldencoin to get on here as we want another good exchange in case something does go wrong with bittrex and most of all it meets the requirement of being highly secure. https://support.cex.io/hc/communities/public/questions/203611846-Adding-Guldencoin-NLGPlease let me know if you have any questions. Voted. Really good add if we get on there.

We had a nice visit from Villa Ticca on the Guldencoin Forums today expressing their gratitude for the attention we've given them and the fact that they've had 2 Guldencoin donations so far (3 as I donated some NLG after their post too). So feel free to donate some Guldencoin if you please! What does Villa Ticca do? Villa Ticca offers a safe place to 100 underprivileged children in Ecuador. Want to help? http://villaticca.litepay.eu/

It's a Guldencoin tattoo right! Always wanted one for Christmas! Yep. I'm just starting out with tattooing, and that is the actual image of the one I tattooed on myself. -Fuse Private keys on your private parts?

Are we having some calm before the storm?
Possibly I know I've got something in the works that will be a first for the coin. If all goes as planned, there will be some awesome Xmas presents for some people this year. Here's a preview(I know you all like these mysterious hints): -Fuse I got word back, and this project will be ready around mid-November. Here's another hint: They would go 0.0381944444444444 fathoms deep if they were 25400 microns longer. -Fuse I know, I know!

Haha, did anyone even know that NLG was on there?

FYI: The Norwegian exchange JustCoin.com has shut down. In an email they informed their customers that their bank (and other Norwegian banks) have ended co-operation with crypto-related businesses. That is bad. JustCoin.com was a great way to change BTC to Euro and get paid directly on your IBAN account. If you have funds at Justcoin, you have to withdraw asap.
Thank you for the headsup!

I think it would be great to have an option to scan a QR code from the QT wallet to send money directly to a valid scanned QR code for a NLG payment. When more people would like this feature, I can try to make this functionality available (in the coming 6 month or so) for our Gulden - Qt Wallet. I think that would be awesome because payments should be as simple and easy as copying an image and press the send button to confirm the payment Sounds interesting, what do you mean though? Scan QR option in the wallet by activating the webcam on your laptop for instance to then scan the QR? That would be nice. I was thinking about a grabber like snagit or so to grab a image from a website and than press the pay button or a price to pay when the QR code is only an address instead of address + price. Maybe later also a webcam option. I downloaded snagit. So you would implement a sort of snagit-button into the QT-wallet, that in an instance shows all the info of the grabbed QR-code in the send-screen of the QT-wallet? Would be nice. Same function as the camera on the mobile wallet. I don't think there is any coin that has that yet. Exactly Sounds interesting and useful indeed. Loading in your paper wallets for example or load coins to your smartphone. Go for it! OK. I give it a try in my spare free time and give you an update about one month from now Take your time, keep us all posted via https://forum.guldencoin.com/ too if you haven't signed up already

I have put my money where my mouth was. I send GeertJohan a little donation in his tipjar and encourage everyone to do the same! I also sent him some extra Guldencoin, I do this quite often tbh haha.

The timeline looks brilliant. I hope more coin dev follow this pattern. Good job!
All you need is Guldencoin

People have been asking for more feedback from the devs.. I am currently working hard on the difficulty simulator; a tool that allows us to test difficulty re-adjustment algorithms against real-world situations. This tool is very important to make sure our development on the new algo is supported by results. I thought it might be a good idea to share this experience with everyone here. http://www.twitch.tv/GeertJohanIf you don't like the music: don't hesitate to mute the stream Please also join the Guldencoin chat at /GeertJohan Great man! This is real Guldencoinstyle to do it in such a way Mindblown! So glad this is my number one alt coin. Very nice, proof of dev doesn't come any better than this I guess.

I'm running Sterlingcoin on a Mac too, I have the logo. Don't know why it wouldn't show up for you though.

Sorry, but I am getting the feeling Guldencoin's planning and decision making is influenced a lot by the (foreign) Mining pools.
Is that really what the Guldencoin team wants?
Exactly the same issue I have with this as well. I started renting hashing power again (~2GH/s now) to combat this. It worked before my "forced" leave, it will work again (check price ramp up from 28 sept to 5 Oct). If more people would do it this, the whole switched mining issue would be non-existent. My last batch of mined NLGs via this way would sell for 630 sat to break even... that is not so much (especially when clevermining isn't dumping so much anymore). I rented 210MHs for 3 days.

Sorry, but I am getting the feeling Guldencoin's planning and decision making is influenced a lot by the (foreign) Mining pools.
Is that really what the Guldencoin team wants?
What happened to the primary goal of Guldencoin to become the new digital currency for the Dutch people to be used in daily life in stores in The Netherlands?
The foreign pools and their miners are in for trading and making a buck, -and that is fine-, but is not really helping the Guldencoin goal mentioned above.
Maybe Guldencoin could work out a way to have more NLG distributed among the Dutch. There are already a lot of merchants but far too little Dutch consumers having a wallet or even using NLG.
If we can increase the number of Guldencoin users in The Netherlands, it will boost the coin and also the value for the current big holders and miners that might not like this domestic focus.
How about starting a free distribution model among open wallets with IP's coming from The Netherlands? (like the new MCL coin is doing rather sucesfully at this time with over 5000 wallets in less than 2 weeks; every hour 5000 coins are divided by the number of opened wallets) If we would start such a campaign through social media informing the people to download and keep the the Guldencoin wallet open from i.e. 1 nov to 1 dec. to receive a percentage of coins [x coins every hour/divided by the number of open wallets] that could become a big hype and boost for Guldencoin.
Or maybe change to a cpu-mining algo like M7M (see XMG) to make mining more fair.
Proof of Dutch eh? Haha. I hear what you are saying. Mining is an important aspect of the network though, but your points are also valid. We're at some sort of crossroads. More users outside of cryptocurrency is what's needed in my opinion. And getting NLG used in NL as currency is still going on, Bitcointalk forums aren't really the place to follow Guldencoin's progress all too much. If you go to guldencoinforum.com (also have an English section) you'll see there is more done than just the DGW3. To let everyone know. I've been contacting a lot of merchants and there will be a few new ones installing NLG and BTC in their checkout system in the next following days. Some also signed up for the official forums. Official big announcements will follow of course One more thing: Litepaid has a referral system that pays out a percentage of each transaction fee and total purchase amount from merchants you bring on. The best part is. They pay out in Bitcoin, Litecoin and you guessed it Guldencoin! Even more incentive to get merchants now

Dagnabbit that's awesome. I love it. When is their online service coming so we can design our own caps as well?
