741  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: SEC likely to approve spot Ethereum ETFs on May 23 on: February 01, 2024, 03:56:46 AM
I support Ethereum ETF, but I never expected that a date would be finalized for approval before the year ends. This is good news for everyone who believes in Ethereum and who has invested in it as the approval might spike the price to a great extent. The date for the ETF to be approved is after Bitcoin halving which could bring back the bull market earlier than expected.
742  Local / India / Re: [December Update] Indian Board activity on Bitcointalk on: February 01, 2024, 03:45:20 AM
1 Number of posts : Increased from 236 to 261.

2. Active users (atleast 1 post) : Decreased from 31 to 25 .

3 Merits shared : Decreased from 31 to 28.

4. Merit per post ratio : Decreased from 0.26 to 0.11

Most active members:

3. Bureau [44]

Except for the number of posts being created in December, we managed to get to the worst activities on the local board compared to November. I am assuming the post amount increased because there was competition and few of us were part of a signature campaign that required more posts every week to earn. Otherwise, I do not think anything different happened in December, and looks like business as usual in January. The condition won't change after halving as we can only see a few new users who are active here.
743  Local / India / Re: Which Country has the Highest Crypto Tax Rate and Which does not? on: February 01, 2024, 03:27:50 AM

High tax rate is not really a problem as long as government is spending the collected tax for the development of citizens but as Indian I know most of the tax collected not spent properly and moreover politicians loot more than half just in the form of commission alone on multiple levels.

In a country like ours, the commission system and rampant bribing are most common. Nothing gets approved unless there is a commission set for the babus and a bribe is paid to a local politician. In such a country where a noncorrupt officer cannot survive in the system without being corrupt high taxes do not help in the development of the nation. I was going through the per capita income of Indians according to the state. Goa has the highest per capita income for 2021 which was above 4 lac and Bihar is the lowest which was 43k. A big deficit in earning capabilities between the two states, but the tax slab is the same for every Indian living in these two states. This is why you would find more Biharis working outside their home state as their earning are not sufficient in their home to survive every month.

Cryptocurrencies gave that opportunity, but as usual, the government of India took it away by implementing an atrocious tax. According to my understanding, the steps that the government has now taken will only encourage the youth to go into illegal ways to access international exchanges. The government will only end up losing more revenue than it achieved in the previous financial year.
744  Local / India / Re: Why is Bitcoin getting dumped after the ETF approval? on: January 31, 2024, 06:43:01 AM
If US can come up with Bitcoin ETFs then why India is not planning to do something like this. Bitcoin is considered a trade able commodity in India. Then it can get traded in Indian stock exchange.
We are always a bit backwards in civilization compared to the peers. We just have to accept that and continue plowing as usual.

Even Hongkong main bank has filed for first Bitcoin ETF. The Chinese are doing it through their proxy which they have been doing in the past. Some other big names where cryptocurrency is being encouraged might now come up with their own Bitcoin ETFs. Apart from Ethereum ETF, I read a few big financial institution in the US have applied for Litecoin ETF.

Australia U19 vs England U19

Australia U19 and England U19 will face each other today in the 30th match of U19 World Cup. The two teams participating in today's game are in Group Two of the Super Six. If we look at their position in the points table between these two teams, we can see that Australia U19 is at the top and England U19 is far below them. Australia U19 team is much stronger than England 19 team in this World Cup and they have won every match. Today maybe Australia U19 team is going to win against England U19 team, we all were waiting to see that match.

Australia haven't lost a single game up till now and they should win comfortably. I haven't seen any of thier games but this match should be good. England should be able give them some competition. Yesterday both Pakistan and India dominated their respective games. Such one side cricket does generate any enthusiasm and it doesn't keeps the interest alive. I hoping that doesn't happen when these two teams face each other today.
746  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are Cryptocurrencies with Good utility smart investment for the long haul? on: January 31, 2024, 06:13:51 AM
At a time when everyone is going after shitcoin, you did find a good project. I am not sure why the price of this token is not going up as the last time it went up was in 2021 when it went to $9. It is still using Ethereum blockchain and unless they come up with their blockchain the price won't go up. If you are planning to hold it for the long term then check their roadmap and find out what they are planning. Unless the developers do not come up with something unique for the project I do not think the price will move.
747  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Between new tokens and old tokens, which would you invest into? on: January 31, 2024, 05:35:49 AM
If you have money to spare and have the intention to get a good profit from the bull market then invest in new tokens. Investing in new tokens is always a high risk so be prepared to lose all your capital in one go. After you have done your research still a new token can shut the shop and the developers can leave if they intend to only scam investors. It has happened in the past and can happen in the future. If you do not want yourself to be in that situation and are okay with small gains then invest in the token ecosystem as they are here to stay. By that I mean the coins that are running an ecosystem in which tokens thrive.
748  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: bullish 2024 ! on: January 31, 2024, 05:18:12 AM
The current market is being dominated by the price of Bitcoin and it is not bullish but trading sideways. We can only say that with halving happening in the next two or three months the market will remain in the same way unless there is bad news. The bull market can only happen after the halving is completed and if we look back at the historic price movement of Bitcoin after halving it takes about 6 months to 1 year for the bull market to arrive after halving. 2024 is the time when we will see new cryptocurrencies getting listed in the exchanges hoping for the bull market to arrive.
749  Local / India / Re: India cricket Discussion and predictions [self-mod] on: January 31, 2024, 04:57:26 AM
Is anyone watching the U-19 World CUP? The Indian team is playing against the New Zealand team today. India are favorite to win as they have been good with the bat and the ball. Musheer Khan and Uday Saharan are on the field and both are very good in the middle order. They both have been the backbone of Indian batting and have scored a couple of hundreds in the tournament. Today's game is a must-watch if you are not doing anything and it is coming live on Hotstar if anyone wants to watch it online.

I watched the match, it was a one-sided game where India dominated from the beginning. M Khan is a good all-rounder in the making, the way he batted and bowled yesterday he would easily get selected in an IPL team as soon as he reaches 18. Limbani is another bowler to watch out for in the future, the New Zealand batters were baffled by his in-swingers. He got 2 wickets and Pandey is a great spinner who got 4 wickets but missed out on his fifer.

Has anyone seen a recent match between ENG vs IND where India got 180+ runs lead yet they lost the test match in Hyderabad?

What do you guys think of that?

The first test match was a disaster, the next one will start on the 2nd of February and hopefully, India will make a comeback. The problem that India faced in the first test was bad batting and exceptionally good spin bowling by Hartley in the second innings.
750  Local / India / Re: Which Country has the Highest Crypto Tax Rate and Which does not? on: January 31, 2024, 04:27:24 AM
In India apart from the capital gain tax which is 30% we also pay TDS of 1% on every transaction we make. Considering the TDS we are still paying more as tax on crypto than any other country that has been listed on the OP. As such Indians have been paying the highest tax for the last 10 years on everything it is not just tax on your earnings tax in the form of GDP and others are the highest in the world. Before the present government came into power we were not paying taxes like we do now.
751  Local / India / Re: India cricket Discussion and predictions [self-mod] on: January 30, 2024, 06:36:50 AM
^^ Jaiswal playing defensively was a surprise but he should get the benefit of the doubt because he's a young batsman and someone from the management likely Dravid-Rohit told him to play carefully.

But my disappointment is with the Iyer. In the first inning, he threw away his wicket out of boredom, and in 2nd inning looked like a fish out of the water. He's supposed to be India's best batter of spin and the irony is that he is our best bat against spin, even on rank turner but jeez he looked hopeless and pathetic.

Regarding Gill, well he's just out of form and management needs to think about it.

Why Jaiswal and Hitman can't find boundaries like they did in first inning is because of excellent field placement from Stokes and he even mentioned in the post match presentation and he keen on watching the field placement from Rohit and followed it in the second innings. They challenged openers with long on and off and hit over them for six that's not the case in the first innings.

Iyer playing too defensive was also shocking to me, I thought he is gonna counter-attack the spin bowling, but he went into defensive shell and I am not sure its tactical advice from management or he decided on his own.

Both Iyer and Gill got very less figures in their 10 innings which should be addressed in second game and I expect atleast one change from the above two.

The complete top order was defensive and there is no denying the fact that Tom Hartley was lucky on that day. I mean everything was going in his favor and every ball was spinning. None of the other bowlers from the English side were as successful as he was on that day. The pitch cannot change so much that it was hard to play every ball that he bowled. Even our spinners were not as successful on that pitch as Bhumrah was. It is over and it is just another game of cricket that we lost.
752  Local / India / Re: Why is Bitcoin getting dumped after the ETF approval? on: January 30, 2024, 05:42:10 AM
That's what am talking about. The tax will be lower than the current 30% flat tax.
Also, the government shouldn't tax just crypto ETFs at 30% even if they decide to increase the tax because that would be very unfair.
They should tax all ETFs that way.

You are write about Tax as TDS won't be applicable and capital gain tax would be lesser than what it is now. I am quoting this information from an article. The only problem is that through LRS a TCS of 20 % is applicable if the amount exceeds 7 lac. I think a lot of Indians who wanted to invest in Bitcoin but we're reluctant due to the big tax slab will now use this method.

If US can come up with Bitcoin ETFs then why India is not planning to do something like this. Bitcoin is considered a trade able commodity in India. Then it can get traded in Indian stock exchange.
753  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Chances for a Litecoin (LTC) ETF? on: January 30, 2024, 05:04:19 AM
Litecoin has a better chance of getting approved over Ethereum. Ethereum staking and it's centralized nature will not help it to get it's approval from the SEC. Litecoin is not that famous as it used to be earlier but it does have a good marketcap. It does have a community that governs it and that will be it's plus point.
754  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: January 30, 2024, 05:00:22 AM

Without Kohli, Jadeja, Rahul being there, now it feels like a youngsters team. Washington is perfect replacement for Jadeja, I don't think anyone else could replace him better. Sarfraz Khan, I have heard his name and watched him in Delhi Capitals, wasn't impressed, let's see how he does here. Don't think Saurabh will get chance while a Kuldeep is there.

Patidar better get chance in playing XI in 2nd test.

Sarfaraz Khan didn't do well in the IPL, but he was quite impressive in Ranji and when he played against the England lion. I feel he is not a T20 material but an ODI & test cricket player. He takes time to settle, when he gets set he can hit a ton. Patidar should get an opportunity this time he is a specialist batter. The team does look young with the exclusion of some big players.
755  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BRC20 NARRATIVE IS SLOWLY TAKING OVER AS WE BUILD UP TO HALVING on: January 30, 2024, 03:53:31 AM
The hype of the BRC20 token is because it uses Bitcoin networks and those who have invested in those tokens have a weird belief. A lot of their investors feel that after Bitcoin halving when Bitcoin starts pumping these tokes will also pump. That is the primary reason a lot of investors who are new to cryptocurrencies are buying these tokens. Other than that from my point of view, these tokens are nothing but garbage which is creating congestion and high transaction fees for a small time Bitcoiner.
756  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are memecoins really important for the crypto market? on: January 30, 2024, 03:30:56 AM
There is only one meme coin and that is Dogecoin as it was the first one. What you are seeing is developers are creating coins like dogecoin to cash the hype market. Those who were not able to join the hype when Dogecoin was dirt cheap are now investing in other meme coins with the belief that they would make good profits in the future. The first replica of Dogecoin was Shiba INU and those who have bought it are still stuck with their investment as it never made it to where Dogecoin is now in price perspective.
757  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is MATIC the new ADA CARDANO? on: January 30, 2024, 03:26:14 AM
What do you think? despite being quite popular and well established, MATIC seems very slow, in the style of CARDANO during the last bullrun, promising but not delivering anything...

There are currently a lot of competitors in this segment of second layer solutions, what is your opinion on this? Will MATIC lose part of the market to these other projects? It would be a shame, I think Polygon is very interesting.

How can they both be similar? Matic or Polygon is a layer 2 solution on the Ethereum blockchain. It provides scaling solutions while Cardano has its blockchain which they are developing at a slow and steady process to build robust and regulated platforms for the decentralized apps. On price point, there is not much difference between them and both of them saw their ATH in the last bull run.
758  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Spot Ether ETF Applications Decisions Delayed by SEC on: January 28, 2024, 10:27:15 AM
If it is delayed by May then its more good news for the ETH holders because the halving event and this news can act as the perfect catalyst for ETH price to surge more than ever but the price has been stagnant for years hopefully this time the holders of Ethereum can make some money and cashout their profits to invest on Bitcoin or any other decentralized cryptocurrency. Wink

Bitcoin ETF approval did not act as a catalyst for Bitcoin price and went down after the approval. The speculation of ETF approval is a catalyst to the Bitcoin price and the same can be accepted for Ethereum. The problem is with the Ethereum protocol which is POS and the SEC has already filed a lawsuit against Ethereum staking. Unless the lawsuit gets resolved SEC won't approve the ETF and will keep it pending. If they approve it they are destroying their case and they know they cannot do it for that reason.
759  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which ICO in 2017-2018 left the strongest impression on you? on: January 28, 2024, 10:15:31 AM
I heard about crypto market long ago. In 2017, i mostly followed bounty related projects rather than joining ico. huge numbers of project cheated with investors and took away huge amount of money. There are lot of project to mention. But some project also gave people good return. I can remember i invested a healthy amount in WAVES and my money was turned into more than 3x during bull run which was huge profit. Now this coin become so popular, comes into top100 rank in coingecko and available for trade in top exchange like binance

Those who were active here at that time mostly followed ICO projects that had bounties. I have heard that bounties were a good source of earnings at that time as most of them used to get listed on exchanges. They allowed hunters to cash out their set of tokens but now they do not allow and rarely there are good bounties for hunters. I was not aware of cryptocurrencies at that time so missed the chance and missed the opportunity to participate in some good ICO from 2017 to 2018. I came to know about that time when I read this thread and others that were discussing ICO.
760  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which coin is more profitable? on: January 28, 2024, 08:37:40 AM
It all depends on which coin you invested in and what time you invested. Buying at low and selling at high is the process that brings in big profits. The best time is when the market is in red to buy coins that you think have potential. when the market is in green then it is the best time to exit from the coin. Although there are investors who tend to hold for the long term to gain high profit that is only possible when you invest in Bitcoin or other big coins. In times when the market is red is the time when long-term holders should start accumulating more that will result in higher profit.
