741  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why do coaches get sacked over poor performance of players? on: February 09, 2024, 06:06:54 PM
Is it even possible that players will intentionally lose matches because they want their coach out at the expense of their own careers? If this is true, why will the club management reprimand the coach and not the players? I know some people will argue that the coach is the leader of the team and should be responsible for building the unity and love the team need to play in high morale, but in a case the players happen to have hated the coach and have decided to lose matches as punishment for their coach, is it right to fire the coach?
I don't think it happens, especially in the bigger leagues, because besides the coach being fired when the team performs poorly, the players also get a lot of rage, criticism and have their values as players evaluated in a negative way by the industry. Nobody wants a saboteur player in their teams. It's anti-ethical, anti-professional and anti-sporty. Players know about it, and will try avoiding getting this bad reputation as much as possible, so I definitely don't think they would play intentionally poorly to prejudice a coach they dislike.

At same time, a coach being fired doesn't mean the end of his career. Maybe it just means he didn't fit well the team he was hired to lead, but could work very efficiently with another team, composed by another players who match his workstyle and even his personality as leader. People to work together have to have connection in order to succeed and make the final results satisfactory.
742  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Taking a break in gambling on: February 09, 2024, 04:02:20 PM
In order to give a break from gambling I try to not let my mind empty, or to stay at home for long periods of time without anything to do, because when you have nothing to do or to think about, temptations start playing a big role in your thoughts, almost like forcing you doing dumb things.

It's particularly hard to take a break from gambling right after you face a considerable loss, because you keep thinking about recovering that money somehow, even though it was a sum of money you destined responsively to gambling purposes. So you have a hard time concentrating in other things, as recovering the money through further gambling sessions seem to be the essential task to accomplish.

In this case, you need to make a lot of extra effort in order to succeed taking a break from gambling. Personally, I have seen such temptations disappear only after several days or a week and few days after the loss incident, what means you have to be very disciplined to not fall.
743  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Please stop asking for "legal tender status" on: February 09, 2024, 12:54:30 AM
Understand that "legal tender" does not mean "legal". Bitcoin is already perfectly legal in most countries: you can own it and you can trade it if you want to.
The best status for Bitcoin was unregulated, in the early days after its creation and launchment. After regulations started being applied to BTC and crypto market in general, the decline has begun. The less governments get involved with Bitcoin, the better it's going to be for adopters. Legal tender is a double edge sword. If you live under a fair and honest regime (what I really doubt in most countries), it won't difficult adopting Bitcoin, or making it heavily expensive to deal with due to taxes, but if you live under an abusive state, then you will surely miss those old good times when Bitcoin was unregulated.

About legal tender giving power to a government to enforce its usage I think it's possible, but not every governments will act like this. We have El Salvador's example. If the government wished, they could have forced everyone to only deal with BTC from the moment it has become legal tender on, however, it wasn't strategically and financially interesting for them, as the country would be under heavy unstability, so dollar remained as regular currency, and Bitcoin as a public investment asset and secondary currency.
744  Economy / Gambling / Re: Responsible gambling on: February 08, 2024, 11:30:58 PM
Gambling is not for the jobless even though we have alot of jobless people who are gamblers today, gamblers should learn not to make gambling their main and or only source of income, and no one should hand over their future to gambling, it's not a responsible thing to do.
Besides not being a responsible thing to do, it's also an impossible thing to do in sustainable way, as gambling income is very volatile. Somedays you win, somedays you lose, and the more you play, more likely it's going be that you lose, so at some point, from where is it going to come the bankroll for a jobless person to gamble? If the individual doesn't have another sources of income, like investments or rents, he will be unable to gamble after a while, so it's definitely not a good idea, as you said.

I believe there is no issues for jobless or poor people to gamble once in while, with low sums of money, just to try their luck, while having some fun. If luck is by their side, they will enjoy some sweet fruits, but if luck is far away, no problems too, as losing low sums of money won't destabilize their lives. In the end, it will depend on the kind of person we are talking about. If they are prone to risks, they will prefer gambling, but if they are averse to risks, they will prefer to save those small sums of money, instead of risking it for profit through gambling.
745  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Blue card to be introduced in football. on: February 08, 2024, 11:16:55 PM
Actually, I believe this new blue card rule has potential to increase the provocations among players, because there aren't any major negative consequences involved. It's supposed to be a punishment, but since the player can come back to the field after few minutes outside, where is the punishment, then? Bullies can even like it, because it's a way for them to stand out in a match towards the crowds as audacious players who challenge the rules, referees and rivals, without compromising their teams' performance entirely.

Faults should be addressed with yellow and red cards, as always. And if it's nothing serious, let the game continue with warnings solely... On the other hand, for gambling industry it's just another category of betting. Now besides every internal betting options you have inside a match, like how many yellow, red cards, how many corner kicks, scored goals, you will also have the alternative of betting on how many blue cards the match is going to have. 746  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you have a habit of tracking your gambling progress? on: February 08, 2024, 11:04:55 PM
I always tracked my gambling progress. I consider it important to keep checking how much I've already lost and won, so I don't lost control over my finances and betting activity. If I didn't do this, it would be impossible to reach any conclusions about gambling nowadays, what is a must in every things you do in life, so you can finally realize how benefical, harmful, or neutral that kind of activity is being for you, so you can adjust if you should increase its frequency, decrease or just maintain it.

Many people don't like tracking gambling results because they want to forget about their losses, as it's painful to keep remembering it frequently. However, I believe mistakes from the past should never be forgotten, because such memories and data can be useful in the future, so we will tend to avoid repeating them over again. If I'm allowed to say something to these gamblers it would be to not see their histories as a failure, but as a learnship that turned them into more experienced and wiser individuals.

By the way, what kind of audience do you mean by "micro earners"? Are those users who still use the freebitcoin site as a faucet? If so, I think such users are no longer or almost not left.
Yes, there are still many active users due to the faucet feature. Especially in countries where the local currencies are severely undervalued and inflation is out of control. The official freebitco.in's thread in micro earnings sub-section on this forum is still active, and from times to times we can see some newbies sharing their big wins from faucet there.

I believe they didn't stop using the website, because it's easy to claim free satoshis hourly without having to view ads, pop-ups and short-links, unlike other websites of the same kind, besides the platform being pretty clean and loading fast even in older mobile models. Moreover, many micro earners believe they can multiply their earnings through multiplier game once they accumulate some satoshis on their balances. And that is when they lose everything and start complaining it's a scam... Tongue
748  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How's problem gambling different from compulsive gambling. on: February 08, 2024, 04:33:26 PM
I don't think there is an exact definition of both concepts, as they are used in different contexts by different people who have some minor different views on what each of them mean, although they are pretty similar in every cases.

As I see, problem gambler represents a wider category, while compulsive gambling might be one element inserted inside that category called problem gambler. That is, compulsiveness is one characteristic of problem gamblers, although there are many others which may be spotted as well in a determined problem gambler, like aggressivity, anxiety, low self-esteem, greed, depression.

Does this definition makes sense for you?
749  Economy / Economics / Re: Poor people need solution now on: February 07, 2024, 10:23:04 PM
Largest portion of farmable lands are owned by few tycoons who dominate the agriculture of the country. Minor farmers who could supposely form a community of vegetables, fruits and meat producers don't have enough space, tools and materials to run their small farms in a sustainable way. They will inevitably need to trade with other merchants and tycoons at some point, what will demand them to be part of a local financial system, with a common currency, which has a central bank behind, which in turn have a government backing it composed by politicians, who are sponsored by businessmen, including the tycoons who own most lands. This is a vicious cycle we call system which is unbreakable.

Nobody has ever broken this evil logic the world follows. It has been more or less like this since the beginning of civilizations, and despite the ideologies, strategies and political agendas you try to implement, it seems it's never going to change. I believe only divine intervention can make things more balanced, and that is the last hope of many individuals at this point, since to believe in anything else coming from humans seem pointless and a waste of time, because we have already been deceived many times until now by different individuals and their miraculous plans to save our nations from poverty, inequality and unfairness. Everything in vain.

Where do you get the idea that TheQuin takes a lot of vacations? Most likely, he is busy with something else, and I suppose that's why he is less often online on the forum. By the way, the community manager of the FUN token wrote a couple of days ago that they contacted the freebitcoin support team, who have assured them that they are working on fixing this issue. So, we just need to be patient and wait for updates from the freebitcoin team.
Well, I think he means that he is not active on the forum. He's probably working on other things but he hasn't logged in the forum since 27 January and if we look at his post history over the last few months it's pretty infrequent. I remember him being active on the forum every day before and posting regularly.
I mean I do agree that website doesn't "look" like a website that is a multi-million dollar company website, and it is basically give or take the same design as what it was 10 years ago, with only a few minor changes, I do agree that it needs an overhaul of design changes.

However, just because it doesn't look like one, doesn't mean that they are not, just consider the fact that lambo giveaway is 200k and they do it twice a year, LAMBO ALONE is 400k a year GIVEAWAY, from this website. Imagine the amount of money they give away every year, between lottery, rewards, freerolls, they probably give away a million dollars or more every single year. When you see that, you realize what they actually make, if they giveaway that much, the amount they must be making is insane. Hence, they are a huge company that works way too hard, which is why he can't be online all the time every single day.
Thinking about the design aspect, even though it's pretty simple and the design is the same since the website was launched more than a decade ago, the website is much superior to many modern crypto platforms which take a long time to load in our devices and don't offer the benefits to users you mentioned like freebitco.in does. I think it's a smart idea to keep the design simple and clean, because besides being nostalgic, it's also accessible to a wider audience, especially the micro earners who don't have access to brand new devices, as they are expensive to be acquired.
751  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Beware of Crypto.com (difficulties cancelling debit card) on: February 07, 2024, 08:44:26 PM
Or you're dealing with an underpaid customer service representative, I always have this tendency when I ask for a support to be rude but I always try my best to be polite and courteous about the interaction even if it's a bot, I try my best to be at my best behavior.

I've heard of Crypto.com before and I thought that they're a really good site for this kind of thing, if I recall they issued this card that offers special privileges like lifetime Spotify and lifetime Netflix but that seems to be not enough and all my friends that have their card back then quit their services too.
The last app's support attendant was very polite and willing. No complaints about that. The platform is expensive in my opinion to afford a card or even a routine of negotiations there. The benefits don't worth the expenses you will have with fees. The app is running too slowly in my smartphone as well, so it's definitely not an option to continue using their services.

Since all your friends have quitted too, that gives you some notion about the platform from the perspective of another people besides me.

Just received a new message this morning confirming the card was finally cancelled, so I unstaked the CRO immediately and sold it.

After more than 1 month the request is finally solved!
Congratulations, allow me to be the first to congratulate you on solving a difficult problem that deserves to be celebrated.

The complex story of canceling your card reminds me of government transactions in the third world. In my country, for example, when you want to submit a request to a government department to solve a problem, they enter you into a maze of complications and official government papers that you are forced to submit.
Where you end up with a pile of worn-out official papers and are eventually forced to abandon your application without solving the problem.

But the good thing about your story is that the problem was finally resolved after all this delay. It is shameful for an exchange that describes itself as global to have all this delay and complexity occur, as this will certainly affect its reputation negatively.
Thank you! Indeed, it's something to be celebrated, as it's one less issue to be concerned about from now on.

I understand what you say about dealing with governments in third world countries. Here it's not different. Too much bureaucracy, unstable websites which present errors frequently, lots of documents and papers to be registered and stamped at notary's offices (what means you have to spend a lot of $), besides waiting long periods of time to have a reply from them. I thought it was different with crypto services, but it seems to be quite similar after all.

Also, withdrawal fees are salty in Crypto.com. I had to pay 60,000 satoshis to the exchange in order to cashout BTC.
752  Economy / Gambling discussion / Have you ever introduced an elder gambler to online betting? on: February 07, 2024, 05:42:41 PM
I was thinking about my past experience with my grandmother when I was still starting in crypto industry and was getting familiar with gambling yet. Since I knew she was a gambling enthusiast (loved slot machines), I tried introducing her to virtual betting, telling it was an accessible and easy method to gamble from home with comfort and easiness.

So I opened a slots website on the laptop and told her to click the touchpad over the roll button, indicated by the arrow on the screen, to start betting. She did it for a while and had some fun when winnings were hit. In the end, I asked her what she thought about the experience and if she would replace the habit of going to physical casino by the virtual one, but she replied that it was too complicated for her to play online, and that she likes the contact with a physical environment where there are physical machines and other people to talk, so she could leave the boredom of staying alone at home to see traffic and flux of people outside the doors.

As you can see, it wasn't only about gambling, but also about interacting with other people inside a real gambling environment, besides the technological experience not being so rewardable when compared to playing at solid, palpable physical machines.

And you, have you ever successfully introduced an elder person to virtual gambling?
753  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are you a generous gamblers on: February 07, 2024, 05:29:52 PM
Talking about generous gamblers I remember about my grandmother. She loved playing slots, and always she won, she shared a portion of the earned prize with the casino's employee who assisted her, besides her family and gifted service providers in general during special occasions, such as Christmas and Easter seasons. She has been always a very generous person in life, and I like to believe this trait of her has only brought good karma, as you say, for her in counterpart.

Actually, the way she played and had gambling in her life is one of the main reasons why I don't see gambling in a negative way, unlike many people around are used to see: as something shameful, forbidden, negative and destructive. It's a fact our personal experiences mold our conceptions about determined activities, and I'm thankful I had a positive one regards gambling, so I can see the positive and negative sides of it, without being biased only by negative aspects.
754  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Selling a property to play gamble on: February 07, 2024, 05:16:18 PM
Have you ever sold a property to play gamble and afterwards finds it difficult to replace that same property again?
Lol, while some are looking for a property to buy, others are willing to sell it to put all the money in risk with serious risks of getting nothing in return... It's so hard to accumulate money to do so, that I think it would be a big waste of money to focus in gambling instead of building or maintaining a solid patrimony. As we know most gamblers aren't profiting on long run, it's expected most of them won't be able to replace the same property again in the future with money made from gambling. Their only chance will be to recover the money someway else through another means which don't involve betting.

In my opinion it's very crazy that someone reaches to the conclusion they should sell a property to gamble, considering all the risks involved. It means this person isn't taking seriously the rule of respecting their financial limits in gambling. Someone who sells a property to gamble must be desperate for chasing some deep losses they faced in the past and can't recover through smaller budgets anymore.
755  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Rich or poor gambler, who should risk more? on: February 07, 2024, 03:14:16 PM
It doesn't matter if you are rich or poor, you are only warned to risk only that you can afford to lose, if a dollar is all you can spare then it doesn't matter if you are earning millions of dollars, a dollar is all you can afford to lose.
Yes, that is the most basic and essential rule for gamblers to follow. By only playing what you can afford to lose, there won't be further complications on your life. That is, in the worst of the outcomes when gambling, a rich gambler won't bankrupt, while a poor person won't have to give up on his financial ascension due to his gambling habits. It means to have a functional gambling routine where the person doesn't need to turn gambling into the most important or the main activity of his life.

This way, we don't need to define who should risk more or less, as each person should risk inside their limits, doesn't matter if the are rich or poor. Of course, rich gamblers will be able to take more risks, as they will be betting with larger sums of money, although it doesn't mean poor gamblers don't have winning chances. After all, it's a game of luck, and sometimes the person with one ticket wins the jackpot, while another person who holds a hundred tickets don't. As an example I can mention freebitco.in's lottery, where we have been seeing this kind of thing happening week after week.
756  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Help me understand this apparent contradiction between bitcoin and inflation on: February 06, 2024, 11:16:12 PM
But if bitcoin is a hedge against inflation then shouldn't the bitcoin price rise when inflation goes up instead of going down?
I'm guessing the answer would be that inflation causes bitcoin price to go down in the short term, but in the long term causes it to go up? If so then why?
Well, it's a well known fact Bitcoin adoption increases in determined regions where inflation is out of control. We have already seen it in Venezuela, Nigeria and more recently in Argentina. However, such markets don't have potential to leverage Bitcoin's price too much, so we don't see a big difference in BTC price. There are other major events happening in the world which can influence BTC's price much more than adoption in high inflated countries.

Another situation is what we have seen in the USA during the bearish crypto market, when interest rates were being raised in order to try controlling inflation. It had a negative impact on crypto market, as investors took their funds out from crypto to invest in other niches through traditional markets.

The reading I make of this, is that even when the financial situation of a country looks pretty bad, there are always people profiting from it somehow. Where some see a problem, others see an opportunity. If big players spot a profitable alternative outside crypto industry, they don't mind dumping it to the bottom in order to take advantage of something else. And once the alternative they went for isn't that profitable anymore, they just bring their funds back to crypto and pump it again. For these people who really impact the market with their orders, it's mainly about seeing inflation as an opportunity to speculate and make extra profit.

What is the state of the fun token project ?

I noticed their discord is completely dead and overrun with scammers

Doesn't seem to bode well for the future of this token  Cry
Check official website and Youtube channel.

There you can find current roadmap and other announcements.

About FUN not displaying on freebitco.in, it's happening for a while already. In my opinion support should address the issue and fix it faster for the good of the platform itself. By not fixing it immediately they open margin for people to start speculating about the platform's legitimacy. Each day without an update from the platform, the number of people worried about the problem increases, contaminating even more people in higher intensity to have a bad perception about freebitco.in along the following days.
758  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Investment in gambling on: February 06, 2024, 04:38:19 PM
I have lost a lot of money through high yield invest and I stopped trusting them, if you want to do this I will advise you should risk very little money, Ponzi is the worst of them all, because you won't know when they will pull the plugs.
Thankfully you have learned your lesson and won't put your money anymore on such schemes which only bring losses and pain to investors on long run. I wouldn't advise anyone to try these investments, even with low sums of money, because it might seduce them to deposit larger amounts of money later, as they make profit or as they keep losing, since they will want to chase losses. Ponzis and HYIPs are always unpredictable. Some investors believe it's possible to know when to enter and when to exit from a scheme, due to following HYIPs monitors websites online, but in fact, they aren't a guarantee for anything at all...

If such earnings method worked, they would be more popular on the internet, while what I see in fact is that their popularity has been decreasing since I started dealing with cryptocurrency. I don't see many ponzis and HYIPs being promoted right now, although years ago they were very frequent and popular, especially under the cloud mining business' flag.
759  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling mistake repeated by the gamblers on: February 06, 2024, 03:20:16 PM
Over confidence is a big issue in gambling, because it dazzle your senses and turn you into a fool. I've already faced it sometimes in gambling, thinking I was invencible, so I could overcome the house the more I played. By being over confident, I believe gambling could be a source of extra income for, so always I needed some cash for different reasons, I would place few bets and cashout the money immediately to my banking account. It's true that it worked for a while, but it didn't take too long and I was already facing long loss streaks and consequently long term losses. Then I realized I should stop, without risking money in an attempt to recover what was gone. Thankfully I didn't get addicted, neither lost funds which compromised my life entirely.

About the second mentioned factor, greed, what I can say is that it's also related to over confidence, because when you are over confident you tend to turn yourself into a greedy person. Nothing is enough and you always want more and more, as you think you are totally able to keep it working in a sustainable basis. Then the thoughts get too big in your head, that is, you become a megalomaniac delusional about luxurious, boasting and fancy achievements to be reached through gambling income. The good thing is that once you realize you aren't so powerful like you assumed in a first moment, you tend to slow down your greed and become more humble, once again.
760  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: This was my highest risk. on: February 05, 2024, 11:57:19 PM
No, I'm not into this gambling's category of betting on multiple sports' events aiming higher multipliers in the end. I prefer simpler bets which don't depend on different factors for the final outcome of the bet. But for sports fans I believe it's exciting to bet like you do, taking big risks and following the matches in real time. You must love the adrenaline involved on it, and that is fine, since each gambler will have their own preferences of which category of bet they want to be engaged with.

That is the bright side of our current era, as there are alternatives inside gambling industry for every kinds of tastes and wishes. It's impossible for a gambler nowadays to say he is bothered by not having what to play, with so many different offers around, bombarding him all day long and calling his attention. You just have to be careful to not get hooked by such shining offers in a way they are leading you to take these big risks which may bring potential damage to your finances. Take big risks if you feel like it's being satisfacting for you, but at same time don't forget about playing responsively, what means you should never trespass your budget.
