I'm trying to cancel my VISA Crypto.com debit card, but the platform makes the request hard or nearly impossible to be concluded. They give two alternatives: send request through email or through app's chat.

First, I tried through email. Sent a request, following their guidelines and waited 3 days until getting a reply asking for my 4 last phone number digits and 4 last ID digits, which were linked to the platform's account.

Did it on the next day, and waited more 4 days for another reply, asking me to spend the 0,33$ left on my debit card's balance first, before cancelling it.

Few hours later, I replied once again confirming and ordering the cancel, giving up on the left balance for crypto.com.

Then, 8 days have passed until I received a new reply from them:



Only nonsense and bullshit. I tried contact again twice after that, asking if the debit card was already cancelled or not, so after 7 days they replied asking for the same 4 last digits from phone number and ID.

Ok, I sent the digits asked on the next day, and 6 days later they replied me asking for the same 4 digits AGAIN!

I even tried arguing after that, but it didn't work, as they kept asking the 4 digits.

So, I appealed to the app's chat. Opened support and had to choose fixed alternatives as reply to the bot. It didn't give me the option to talk to someone real. And inside the category VISA card there wasn't any alternative which fit my request.

Then I had to take a long walk around it, justifying some technical bullshit issue in order to force the bot forward my request to a real attendant. Now I'm waiting for a reply, which accordingly to the platform takes up to 12 hours.



What I mean is, avoid this platform, so you don't have a lot of headaches with a poor and scammy service like this which prevent customers from having their requests met and solved. And if someone you know is a customer of them or thinking about becoming one, warn them.

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

Anyway, if this is how hard it is to cancel your card, is it not a more practical option to just unstake and withdraw everything from your account and forget about your card? I'm not a user of Crypto.com's debit card but it seems this is the easier way out. And possibly a way to avoid cancelling fees, dormancy fees, and whatnot.

These services try to save money by using AI in the support team and hiring fewer people, which results in a bad experience that ends up leading to long waits and duplicate responses. It seems that they do not want you to cancel the card, so stop using it and it will expire soon.
If you read some responses to similar problems, you will find that some of them were solved after more than 8 months.

I can't unstake. I have over 4000 CRO staked, but the platform doesn't let me sell more than 20 CRO. I guess it's because they are attached to the debit card feature. Also, if I don't use the card during a year time period, there is an inactivity fee to be paid, so I don't know if they would use the staked CRO to charge this fee from. There would be a 50 euros fee as well to cancel the card, but that would be only in case I desired to recover the left balance to some address else, although it's not the case here.

Lol, they have money to hire Matt Damon for a marketing campaign, but don't have money to hire more support employees... Although I believe all this delay and precarious service is on purpose. If it was someone willing to invest instead of getting investments out of their platform, I believe the treatment would be different.

Terrible support and customer experience, a kind of disappointing approach through their own bot. This shouldn't be like that when you've been passed on by several of their customer support agents. The better approach if they truly want to help you out and don't want to cause you that much stress is to put you on a ticket to have that case recorded and have it on an audit trail. With that, every new agent that will handle your concern will just have to go through the history of that report and they won't give you the same useless advises and won't ask the same details. Giving a ticket # that will just have to go through the system and have this concern of yours expediting the process. If nothing happens and the response will be the same, they just want you to keep it while being disappointed with their service.

That's a significant amount. But has it already matured or surpassed the 6-month or 180-day lock-up period? That's basically one of the conditions of staked CRO to be withdrawn, right?

Anyway, I think you better follow their advice and drain your card of everything, as in zero. In that way, you can avoid both inactivity fee and cancellation or closing fee.[1] If not, these sneaky scumbags might indeed dip into your staked CRO. That's almost $5 per month just for inactivity. I'm not sure of its complete terms and conditions, though.

Or you're dealing with an underpaid customer service representative, I always have this tendency when I ask for a support to be rude but I always try my best to be polite and courteous about the interaction even if it's a bot, I try my best to be at my best behavior.

I've heard of Crypto.com before and I thought that they're a really good site for this kind of thing, if I recall they issued this card that offers special privileges like lifetime Spotify and lifetime Netflix but that seems to be not enough and all my friends that have their card back then quit their services too.

CRO was staked to maintain the card active. After those 24 hours, more or less, I was replied by their app's support through chat and they initiated the cancelling process. Just received a new message this morning confirming the card was finally cancelled, so I unstaked the CRO immediately and sold it.

After more than 1 month the request is finally solved!

The complex story of canceling your card reminds me of government transactions in the third world. In my country, for example, when you want to submit a request to a government department to solve a problem, they enter you into a maze of complications and official government papers that you are forced to submit.
Where you end up with a pile of worn-out official papers and are eventually forced to abandon your application without solving the problem.

But the good thing about your story is that the problem was finally resolved after all this delay. It is shameful for an exchange that describes itself as global to have all this delay and complexity occur, as this will certainly affect its reputation negatively.

The last app's support attendant was very polite and willing. No complaints about that. The platform is expensive in my opinion to afford a card or even a routine of negotiations there. The benefits don't worth the expenses you will have with fees. The app is running too slowly in my smartphone as well, so it's definitely not an option to continue using their services.

Since all your friends have quitted too, that gives you some notion about the platform from the perspective of another people besides me.

I understand what you say about dealing with governments in third world countries. Here it's not different. Too much bureaucracy, unstable websites which present errors frequently, lots of documents and papers to be registered and stamped at notary's offices (what means you have to spend a lot of $), besides waiting long periods of time to have a reply from them. I thought it was different with crypto services, but it seems to be quite similar after all.

Also, withdrawal fees are salty in Crypto.com. I had to pay 60,000 satoshis to the exchange in order to cashout BTC.
