Great work WAVES team i can only begin to imagine the time this consumes, you are doing fantastic work. The last great ICO of 2016, i am calling ti now, after Waves there are just scammy looking ICO's. (peerplay, elastic, rise.. = no, no, NO!) Heed my words. Stay in Waves or if you sell keep hold of the bitcoib, been looknig around at other ICO's and none, NONE come close to what Waves is , as a whole package. So if you dont want to get burned this summer, keep in the Waves!

Every bone in my body is saying not to buy into this.....
Can a Rise Dev here tell me why i am wrong. How can i trust this project, thats what i am looking for, trust, in the Developers, thats priority for me, features come second.
So: Have the Rise Devs / team members , been involved with other coins? If so, which ones?
Have any of the Rise team been seen in person or on video? Can we verify who they say they are?
Many thanks.

Thank you Waves Developers!
Just singed into my Waves account, seen the link to link up my facebook and was credited with 78 waves, add this to the 72 for twitter, what a fantastic bonus!
LOVE this Platform, can see it as being the most exciting platform since Ethereum.
People wondering about price on launch, the "half arsed Lisk" was around 19k sats i think ICO and is now around 80k, so if that can trade at x4. I can easily see Waves trading at x6 - x10 ICO price, as it is far superior all round and easily has a much more TRUSTED and STRONGER development team. Waves will be around for a long time to come, the other one i mentioned wont be, thats for sure.

People need not worry about the Bitcoin halving. It really won't have that much of an effect.
You do realize the top traders are eagerly waiting for all the people to panic sell Bitcoin after the halving and burn all you noobs who sell at $600 region, when they pump it to 1k.
Also, many investors here will be holding long term, clear to see that have plenty of bitcoin and are actually investing in this coin for the future, when it goes on to do a nice Ethereum style run and all the noobs here who sold early, puke when they could of got x10 again.
Waves is a solid platform and can be mentioned in the same breath as Ethereum, i am sure Sasha has had many lengthy chats with Vitalik, so i would suggest people here to sell only if they really need to and try and hold as much as you can and thank me in 6-12 Months time.

Very Good UPDATE IOC Dev Team, i am sure it is going to make a Big splash once all the developments come together.
I/OCoin will be 2 years old in July 15th'ish, hat would be a perfect date to unleash the new wallet with the hugely anticipated DIONS (and maybe some other bonus features).
There are not many coins that are still alive and kicking in crypto after 2 years, so it is great to see i/ocoin is progressing in the right direction, strong staking, strong developments and a strong Dev team, makes I/OCoin the perfect Long Term Investment.
Keep up the great work!

Ok so it wont be traded on exchanges?
And all this stressing over how its a donation, is really that, people are just giving the team money to build The Decentralized Supercomputer.
So its not an ICO really is more of a crowd funding, where the participants get nothing in return, other than tokens that can only be used as "fuel" in the supercomputer and not traded for bitcoin?
If so, then fine, but i like to invest to see a return on my investment, not a donation.
XEL will be purchasable on exchange(s), people who want to rent some computational power need to buy XEL. Great Answer, that makes up my mind... i'm out... no way can XEL compeat with Ethereum. Good luck XEL Team!

Great. Now, can someone explain this process to me, like a total noob. Never bought coins this way before.
1- Where do i send the bitcoin from? Does it have to be a desktop wallet? Or can i use a mobile wallet, like Mycelium. 2- When i send the Bitcoin payment (this is the part i do not understand) - Where do the coins go to? 3- How do i access the coins in the future, to send to an exchange for trading.
Many thanks.
A small correction to your posting: you do not buy coins here, you donate. And as a result of your donation you will have no legal obligation to us and I will have no legal obligations to you. What you basically do is to altruistically support the development of a cleverly inventive, ingenious system with uncertain outcome. Furthermore, because you asked about exchanges and trading: when you donate you MUST signify that you DO NOT see your donation as a speculative investment in any form. Please keep that in mind. Using the Private keys to Bitcoin seems like the most unsafe thing a person can do.
What am i missing here, why has it been made this way, it is a little confusing. Or just seems that way.
Why is it unsafe? Seriously, I don't see the problem. As to why they did it, I suppose its for convenience and transparency. We can already see what addresses get what amount of coin in the genesis block. We can all recognize our own address yet the info is still private because only we know which transactions refer to us. No need to sign up on a web site, declare XEL addresses when wallets are available, etc etc. Tbh, the system seems excellent. Great. Now, can someone explain this process to me, like a total noob. "We will try to hire top talent in crypto and programming. Also raising so much funds is good for publicity and attracting attention to our project. It will be easier to deal with established financial institutions for us now." - Sasha Ivanov Once they start to do publicity, it should help the rise of value. i wonder if buying a lambo and showing it here is going to be part of waves publicity. i know other teams may not be envious about such but it must be real fun seeing the team inside a lambo. I you want to see an Cryptocurrency Team Leader in a Lambo, check out I/OCoin. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Aim4LmDhG9s

So when a person sends Bitcoin, the XEL does not appear on the website (like a usual ICO) but they are sent to the public key of the bitcoin address? Is that right? How does that work please. How do i have access to the coins?
Better, they appear on Github. To be precise, they get appended to the bottom of this file: https://raw.githubusercontent.com/elastic-project/genesis-block/master/genesis-block.jsonAs you have seen above, you log in with a passphrase (same concept as in NXT) where your passphrase if your "brainwallet". Thee will also be an option to: a) log in with your Bitcoin private key (to find the coins from the genesis block in there) and b) log in with your Passphrase and "swipe" the Elastic Coins from your Bitcoin private key to your new account. All this works without your private key ever leaving your computer (even when using a hosted wallet). Using the Private keys to Bitcoin seems like the most unsafe thing a person can do. What am i missing here, why has it been made this way, it is a little confusing. Or just seems that way.

Anyone having problems with Twitter linking.
Make sure you are already logged into your Twitter, before you link accounts in waves webpage.

Hey PeerPlay Tam,
Am i right in thinking we can only buy 10 coins in one go?
So we have to make multiple purchases?
There is an option to make the purchase that you want, in multiples of ten. Input your desired coin total and click 'update'. ah ha.. Thank you, found it :O)
