I have a solution that would make you pool even more successful than it is today, I noticed you took my other advice of a top miner list and improved it.
My solution would give you > 50% however I have a solution for that as well but both solutions you will not like it, so I will implement it on my pool and If I am right I hope you copy it.  My objective is not to beat you but to make bitcoins a solid system that can never be taken down.
So what is the solution ?
742  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [5128 Gh/s] DeepBit.net PPS+Prop,instant payouts, we pay for INVALID BLOCKS too on: September 16, 2011, 07:04:13 PM
Still unable to change my wallet address in the Deepbit system.  I've watched the price drop from $15 to $5 and have been unable to sell any coins because my coins are stuck (held hostage?) in deepbit.
It has been 2 months now and still no help.   Tycho, please man.  It would take all of 2 minutes of your time dude.   Your confirmation system is FUCKED.
As far as I remember, I already sent you the confirmation code long time ago. Sent it again now.

PLEASE ask your system administrator to remove deepbit.net from his spam filter, this will resolve your problem instantly.
We use Amazon's e-mail system and most problems are caused by spam filtering, and the rest - by non-existing or misspelled addresses.

Sorry about this delay, but I have no way to fix those issues except for sending an e-mail to your service's support, which not always helps.
743  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [~5000 Gh/s] DeepBit.net PPS+Prop,instant payouts, we pay for INVALID BLOCKS too on: September 09, 2011, 04:13:27 AM
don't question my amount of shares.. question why the pool as a whole only had 699 shares on a 4 minute block...
that is the really odd thing I was thinking of. maybe that is the pool problem you were speaking of 110 minutes ago?
just look at your stats page to see what i mean. 4 minutes on deepbit always have a lot more shares then that.
Yes, I understand what you are talking about.
I asked about your connection problems to see if at least someone had.

I'll check it to find out if those "missing" shares were accounted for another (next) rounds or not...
744  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [~5000 Gh/s] DeepBit.net PPS+Prop,instant payouts, we pay for INVALID BLOCKS too on: September 08, 2011, 09:46:40 PM
What in the world happened with the last round on the stats page?
08.09 13:37:29   0h 04m     0   699     None
4 minutes and only 699 shares.. and I did not get one with 2.4 gh/s running?
Hmm... looks strange. Have you experienced any connection problems or "miner idle" messages during that timespan ?

The pool had some difficulties 110+ minutes ago, but time doesn't match.
745  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [~5000 Gh/s] DeepBit.net PPS+Prop,instant payouts, we pay for INVALID BLOCKS too on: September 08, 2011, 06:43:49 AM
Has anyone had any issues with payout/payments over the last hour or so?  -- I did a payout, the associated TX for it still hasn't been seen on the network and it's almost an hour.  Normally it's instant...
There was a delay, but it should be cleared already.
Check it again and if it's still not there, PM me your TX hash.
746  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [~5000 Gh/s] DeepBit.net PPS+Prop,instant payouts, we pay for INVALID BLOCKS too on: September 08, 2011, 03:14:38 AM
front website needs to be updated on the pay per share...
Quote
We pay a competitive price:
Pay per share: 0.00002531254692628 BTC per every submitted share
Proportional: your part of every solved block less 3% fee
Fixed.

PPS price on the site is updated in real time and is always correct.

Just a note on the deepbit site when u click the forums button its linked to the old Bitcoin.org forums.
URL http://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3889.0
Fixed. Thanks for your report.

Approx. 2 hours ago ~5% of pool's users possibly experienced some connection issues, sorry about this.

Would having more than 1 miner on the same worker account cause a problem?
No problems unless you want to run more than 20 miners on same worker account.
But different worker accounts are better.

(and takes it from others who do not know or understand that their pool is being hopped)
BULLSHIT.
They get every bit of expected value. Show me one damn person whoses shares got stolen by a hopper.
The pools say they will pay (your shares/total shares) * 50 and ABSOLUTELY everyone gets that. Hoppers and non hoppers a like. You can put in your shares and see you get every penny due to you.
Where do those additional coins come from ? :)
750  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [~5000 Gh/s] DeepBit.net PPS+Prop,instant payouts, we pay for INVALID BLOCKS too on: August 21, 2011, 10:08:04 PM
What is a "low enough number of false positives" - meaning: How many % of legitimate users are you willing to screw over?!
No legitimate users are planned to be screwed at all.

It is NOT "evil" to start and stop mining whenever you please! It is "evil" however to have a payout system that is mathematically proven to be flawed(!) and taking counter measures that will always also impact users that don't even know of pool hopping at all.
Bank robbery is just "an optimized approach to withdraw funds", yeah ? :)
It's not evil to start and stop mining whenever one pleases, but it's evil to deliberately use some automated techniques that are known to hurt other users and the pool itself.
Currently we don't have any counter-measures that can impact legitimate users.

Please reconsider delaying stats + forcing policies that won't be able to only hit pool hoppers (and which most likely will be circumventable) and switching to a proven secure payout system instead.
I'm thinking about adding a third payment mode for a long time already, but even then I'll have to protect Proportional users as long as they like to use that method.
751  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: DeepBit pool thread for newbies on: August 21, 2011, 06:19:50 AM
I'm noob so I don't include calc. for luck or w/e that lesser hash power crap or lesser day stuff. Also I'm not sure if it's 50 btc or 50.01? or 49.5? w/e it's really divided by? Not sure which number they acctually use once block is solved.

First one: (118/1742715) x 50 BTC = .0033855 x .96 (3% porp. share fee) = .00325
Should be 118/1742715 * 48.5 = ~0.00328396
You may see such results if some of your workers are in PPS mode or recently switched from PPS to Proportional. Did you ?
PPS reward is not shown in this table.
752  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: Deepbit and CPU mining? on: August 21, 2011, 06:10:25 AM
I have the same issue like you. No solution yet with deepbit. Other pools work well.
I heard that new version of Ufasoft's miner is fixed and can work.
Also you can try jgarzik's cpuminer which didn't contained such bug.
753  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: Deepbit and CPU mining? on: August 21, 2011, 06:09:01 AM
Because depending on the hash-rate you get on your CPUs at the current difficulty levels, there's a very high chance on the shorter rounds that you may not even get a share in and earn anything at all.
Such short rounds do not affect user's average income.
754  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [~5000 Gh/s] DeepBit.net PPS+Prop,instant payouts, we pay for INVALID BLOCKS too on: August 20, 2011, 08:06:42 AM
What is this pool's policy on hopping?
Hoppers are not welcome here.

This policy is not yet added to the pool rules because my hopping-detection routine is not ready. When I'll be able to detect poolhoppers with low enough number of false positives, this policy may become forced.
I know that some people call proportional method "flawed", but since there are lots of users that like this method, I have to protect them from evil ones.

I sent it, but so far no response.
I got your message and will reply when the cause will be found. Sorry for delay.
756  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [~5000 Gh/s] DeepBit.net PPS+Prop,instant payouts, we pay for INVALID BLOCKS too on: August 19, 2011, 11:03:03 AM
we all gave up hoppin and took up mormonism.
but really yall shouldnt notice, we arent even a spec compared to the hash rate here. And the speed of blocks being found makes efficient hoping nearly impossible which is why most hoppers just use deepbit for backup
Please don't try to mislead people, I know the truth :)
757  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [~5000 Gh/s] DeepBit.net PPS+Prop,instant payouts, we pay for INVALID BLOCKS too on: August 17, 2011, 10:59:04 AM
Earliest PPS use was at 3:39:52 on there.  Most recent Proportional use was 6:28:16.  These are coming from the statistics.
PM me your login name please.
758  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [~5000 Gh/s] DeepBit.net PPS+Prop,instant payouts, we pay for INVALID BLOCKS too on: August 17, 2011, 06:57:40 AM
I hadn't used deepbit in a very long time (2 months :D ), and now submitted a few shares.
From the stats page, I can tell that I should've earned 0.01558598BTC total (I stopped mining more than 1 hour ago). However, my current balance shows as 0.01234512 BTC, even though I had a sub-0.01BTC amount left in there from 2 months ago.
PM me your login name, I'll check it.

Is there any way to know for certain if a block will become invalid before it gets confirmed? Does the pool keep internal time down to the millisecond? Maybe that would settle it. I ask because block 141008 was found by both us and simplecoin:
Reporting blocks by numbers is a bit wrong because you can't be sure what number it will take.
Correct way is to report blocks by it's hashes. It's unique and will allways be correct, so you'll see if it's valid or not.
760  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [~5000 Gh/s] DeepBit.net PPS+Prop,instant payouts, we pay for INVALID BLOCKS too on: August 14, 2011, 05:47:38 AM
I think the pool hoppers are back.   :(
My payout variance has been too high lately.
I think that some hoppers are there and I'm working on some special routines, related to this problem.
But this should NOT affect your variance, it will only affect total pool's luck. As you may see, it's still good at this moment.
