With the popularity of franchise cricket, I fear that international cricket will die out soon. Especially since the ICC is so worried about keeping test cricket alive instead of actually improving the state of cricket right now. Probably the players are going to be only interested in International Cricket because of the world cup.
After all no franchise league title is going to be more important than the world cup. But at the same time, the other tournaments light the Asia Cup and others will lose its importance. I don't know how much ICC tournaments are going to get impacted, but bilaterals are surely done if this happens. IPL franchises have formed a cabal, and they are now in talks with dozens of players to lure them out of international cricket. In the end, cricket will become similar to football, where club competitions reign supreme. In the long term, I am worried even about the future of ICC competitions as well. If the best players are taken out, then teams outside pig-4 will cease to be competitive. And along with that, popularity of cricket outside South Asia will drop even further. I am sure that international cricket is going to get affected. At the same time, I actually agree that ICC tournaments are probably not going to be affected. But other than the ICC tournament players are not going to be interested to play for the national team. Why would the players want to play for the national team when they are getting paid a lot more money in the franchise t20 league? The franchise league being more popular would have worked if cricket was popular in all around the world. But cricket is not that popular. It was clear that what the 2022 world cup host wanted was fame. They wanted to prove to the world that they could host the world cup and they also wanted to rebrand the Middle East making it look like an area that has become receptive to civilization and changes. Before this time people usually classify these Arabic nations as people that are glued to their religious beliefs. But the world cup proved that the middle east could make changes to their policies that will make football fans and investors comfortable. But I didn't see the last world cup as one of the best because it had many shortcomings that wouldn't have happened in another country.
If that was the case, then I am 100% sure that it didn't worked the way they intended. Even before the start of the tournament, many of the European teams were protesting against discrimination on unmarried couples and LGBTs. And some of the European teams even raised the issue of lack of compensation payments to the families of 6,000+ workers who died during the construction of world cup stadiums. And during the tournament, a lot of fans were unhappy about overpriced amenities and ban on alcohol. If Qatar wanted to showcase middle-east, then I would say that they completely failed in doing that. @Sithara007 I totally agree with you and how can we forget that they refused to pay labourers their dues, so this World Cup just proved that they’ll never give up on their rigid beliefs. RCB vs KKR match was excellent batting performance in first condition KKR did best. and their run-rate increased sufficiently from the next 16 overs onwards. Jason Roy and Nitish Rana two batsmen scored the highest runs for the team and Jason Roy scored a half century. But when RCB was batting their performance was also outstanding especially Virat Kohli's batting performance was excellent. If he could have played some more time for the team, more runs could have been scored and the match could have been won. But unfortunately all the other players in the match did not give that good batting performance due to which RCB had to lose the match.  This led me to think about How CSK is winning matches? They have bowlers who have zero/least exposure to International cricket. I went ahead and check the stats of Deshpande, Akash & Pathirana. While every other team had to bid for bowlers. MSD is busy creating new bowlers. MSD was once the most successful captain of the Indian cricket team, with many players emerging in the cricket team in India. He knows how to captain a team and take it forward. Under his captaincy many losing matches have also been won in the end. All the players mentioned above have not qualified for international matches or made their debut but only Dhoni's bowling skills have been able to take Chennai Super Kings to the top in IPL 2023. However, there will be no surprise even if Chennai Super Kings are champions in this year's IPL because Chennai Super Kings can only make it to the finals under Dhoni's supervision. @LDL these bowler’s definitely have the potential, and MSD is slowly and steadily grooming them and I won’t be surprised if they get bigger roles in the long term. ^^^ I am not sure whether there is a need to overhype the CSK bowlers. For sure they have performed well this season. For example, Tushar Deshpande has picked up 12 wickets so far, but those wickets came at an average of 23.16 and an economy rate of close to 11. Compared to him, Ravindra Jadeja performed much better. He picked up 10 wickets at an average of 17.60, and his economy rate is exceptional at 7.33. Akash Singh has also bowled well and he has so far picked up 5 wickets from 4 matches. But overall, CSK has won their matches mostly due to the batting, with bowlers playing a supplementary role.

At the Stadio Olimpico Roma should definitely try to win as the away match will be very difficult as Bayer Leverkusen are in good form and they play attacking football. Mourinho will of course stick to his defensive tactics, but in a home match, a win is a must.

On a good day Leverkusen can be very hard to beat at home and they are very offensive, which means that they are able to keep Roma busy in their own half. When Roma has to attack, Leverkusen is also good at counter attacks. This is a 50:50 game for me. @Cryptmuster I believe that Roma and Sevilla are the favourite team’s to win this competition, and thus I’m expecting to see these two teams in the finals. Furthermore I believe that Roma knows that if they want to secure an champions league spot then winning the Europa League is their best shot as the Serie A is unpredictable, hence I expect Mourinho to bring out his top tactical plans out to beat Leverkusen. |

I'm sure Guardiola will put pressure on their team to be able to win the game in the first leg so that Madrid doesn't have a chance to comeback, marid has a winning mentality sometimes they always surprise in the last minutes so Manchester City needs to play pressing at the start to create a lot goals through Haaland where he is a Manchester City goal machine who is very prolific in scoring goals while playing in Manchester City.
Haaland et al will certainly play as much as possible to avenge them last season which made Manchester City fail to reach the UCL final, the meeting between the two is eagerly awaited because this will be a good match to watch and many eyes will be on this match, I know madrid has a winning mentality but i'm sure this season's UCL belongs to manchester city.
Pep Guardiola has been impressive this season though he has always been that standout manager even in previous seasons. It will be delight to see his team win all three trophies they are currently fighting for this season including the premier league and FA cup trophy. They are in very good form and it will be very interesting to see how they can survive Real Madrid in the semi finals. @Pokapoka124 Pep is a perfectionist and he’ll want the very best from his team, hence I’m expecting a very entertaining game between these two sides. Also Haaland can give his audition for Real Madrid as they would be targeting a striker to replace Benzema, thus if he scores few goals against them then he’ll definitely pass his audition test of scoring in important games. |

Signing for the Saudi Arabian was already a big mistake by Ronaldo since majority of the football fans over there are messi fans and him winning the world cup with his display at the just ended world cup in their neighboring country Qatar, made more Arabic football fans fall in love with Messi. He'll always be used to torment Ronaldo. My worries is why is Ronaldo allowing his rival fans to get into his head. Lets assume he meant the gesture, why should he do such when he's meant to be a professional. He should take his revenge to the field as he always does when he was younger.
He should make his opponent pay for the disrespect by them conceding and get his team to winning ways by scoring instead of attacking the fans for disrespecting him. With the changes of habit by Ronaldo, he's giving the media what to talk about and make them look right with their earlier publication of him been the problem of the clubs he's playing for. He shouldn't be giving the media reasons to speak bad about him instead he should be proving everybody that doubted him wrong .
Because this is who Ronaldo really is. I know that Messi had some little scandals as well, but they are still different people. Ronaldo wants to polarize at all cost and he doesn't even hold himself back when it is about slapping a mobile phone out of a kid's hand because it wanted to take a foto. He is a great soccer player and serves as an example for physical fitness, but I wouldn't want to be like him as a person. I think we will soon call the world "arrogant" "ronaldish". When he did that against Atletico, I understood why. Because Simeone insulted him in the game before with the same gesture. Then Ronaldo destroyed them in the second leg and showed the gesture as well. But in Saudi Arabia, that is not very smart. increasingly I was also quite hot with Cristiano's attitude, however. al nassr is a team that is rich enough so that whatever negative actions cristiano does, he can get away with it (like the case of his obscene gesture towards al hilal supporters). Whatever he does, he will be free in Arabia. In terms of the league, he scores 11 goals in 11 games and plays with an average of 1 goal per game. A very good statistic in my opinion. In terms of points, it was bad for Al Nassr that they were behind Ittihad. How? How has Ronaldo become an icon for Al-Nassr? I mean are there any news that I missed or did he win any titles with them? Ronaldo is not an icon for Al-Nasr. He simply is the best paid soccer world in the world thanks to sheikh money and he a former world soccer player. He holds some records, but there is nothing anyone would specifically tie to him in terms of Al-Nassr's history or successes. He is scoring goals with a large part of it being penalties and he is grabbing his balls in front of the audience to show what a great guy he is. That is my summary so far for the guy you call an icon!  @W Jr I believe that Ronaldo’s history is repeating itself, because he did similar antics to get out of Manchester United and now he’s repeating the same just in time for the summer transfer window. Lastly if he doesn’t change his behaviour then the club will have no option but to either sell him or end his contract for good, and if that happens then no club in their right mind would offer him a contract hence I feel that he’s making a terrible mistake here. |
