I wrote a Script that displays the Community-Bounties "live". http://just-wegi.de/myriadbounty/ . It updates every minute. As I want to improve the script, I would very much like feddback. Holy crap, thanks! Looks like you'll be receiving one of those bounties yourself  Suggestions: Hyperlink each bounty address to its corresponding block explorer page. Sort by donation amount or last received donation size or time. Add total number of donations that comprise each bounty to date (i.e. number of inputs). Finally, there should be a way to easily pipeline new bounties onto the website. Right now I assume it would be me having to talk to you then you manually update the bounty list. Is there any way to make this process faster? |

I really love this coin, but it's not a good storage overnight. Please make the rewards halve or something, cuz I can't stand the dumping of the miners.
The prices relative to coin creation are going to pretty much be the same. Coin creation rate doesn't matter if the coin is innovative or popular. It also helps when more miners get on the network because it spreads those same number of coins into more hands rather than concentrating the same number of coins into the hands of a few. If the miners are going to dump NOW, it's going to be more of a constant "trickling" dump rather than massive market moving dumps than drop the coin 100 satoshis in a minute. We are secure going forward, guys. Innovation will be the victor here and I really wouldn't worry about how many coins are getting created. |

Cpu miners were mad they could no longer get many bitcoins with their intel celerons and the migration to scrypt started. The original implementation of scrypt was a short term fix that only kept GPU’s down for a few months. Fast forward to today, gpu miners arn’t as rare as they once were and there is a new enemy in town. The EVIL ASIC!

Aiden uses an optimized version of scrypt that is 8x less memory intensive than traditional scrypt. GPU miners will get more out of their hardware AND mine a coin that is currently asic resistant. Just read the the noble coin devs "state of the alternative cryptocurrency" post. Quite an interesting read. Would definitely recommend it. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=555576.0In the post he addresses the technical and social issues facing many alternative currencies. As i was reading it, it occurred to me that a variety of the technical issues he mentions in his paper, this coin in theory seem to have resolved, such as a 51% attack. However i'm quite inexperienced in the actual technicalities of cryptocurrencies so i was wondering if some one with a better understanding could shed some light on this? Maybe more bounty money for a technical paper is in order :p This coin has a serious flaw pointed out by gatra, developer of RIECOIN. Algo with the highest difficulty can 'takeover' and orphan many blocks created by other algos ( https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=483515.msg6054591#msg6054591). MYR is not immune to 51% as many are trying to portray,its actually more prone to the attack... It is quite difficult to exploit this. You will still need the hashing power to generate two blocks of two different algos in quick succession. And because you can only roll back the block-chain a few blocks, you'll only have a couple of minutes to attempt a double spend. A fix to mitigate this issue has been developed with input from the Riecoin developer and will be released shortly. Edit: As mentioned, a short term solution is to wait for 30 confirmations before accepting a transaction, this will almost completely eliminate the chance of a double-spend. Quick question from a trader, when are we going to see the amount of coins being released onto the market slow down? Its concerning to me the coin is only a little over a month old and already there is 116 million coins on the market when the final coin count is supposed to be 2 billion in about 10 years? I just worry any investment I make now is going to be eaten up badly by inflation.

Can the efficiency of the Myriad code to keep each algorithm getting 1/5 blocks on average be measured by looking at this pie chart?

I was wondering why Skein is deviating so low and if this means there is room for improvement in the design on the coin that we can test on a testnet or something? I'm assuming we want to tend towards 20% for each and if Skein keeps dropping to 19.4, then 19.3, etc., we can be alerted that something is wrong?
That is from the whole blockchain. Ignore the earlier parts before things settled down, and instead look at figures for a short recent period (e.g. the last 24 hours, or 2880 blocks). One standard deviation each way would be 19.25%-20.75%. Two standard deviations each way would be 18.5%-21.5%. You might even find that Skein has got more of its fair share of blocks in the last few days. You should also expect a very slight preference towards the algorithms with high numerical difficulties (in decreasing order: SHA, Skein, Groestl, Qubit, Scrypt), for the reasons outlined recently. It also isn't clear to me how a node calculates the best chain. If it is cumulative difficulty, without any normalisation, then what is to stop someone reversing a sequence of low difficulty blocks (e.g. Scrypt or Qubit ones, currently) by means of a single high difficulty block (SHA256D, currently)?
The SHA difficulty is independent from the other algos, so a high difficulty SHA block will not overwrite a low difficulty Scrypt block for example. Just in the last hour or so I've seen a chain of five non-SHA256D blocks (112715-112719) erased by a single SHA256D block (112715): [code edited out]How should this happen if they are truly independent? anyone want to give this a technical explanation.. maybe a simple explanation too Dev is only one that can atm This is general block reorg (also known as a chain of orphans) it happens with a block time of 30 seconds. hell even with the 10 min block time of bitcoin it happens. In myriadcoin every algo has equal standing as each has an equal score. You can see in many POS/POW coins. POS orphans POW as POS has a higher score than its POW counterpart. Ahmed exactly! the coin is broken because a single SHA block can force a reorganization and orphan many blocks from other algos. This allows for easy double spending with minimal hashrate. Just mine SHA from the last SHA block ignoring blocks from other algos. When you mine your new SHA block, all the others will be orphaned. If there are enough to confirm a transaction (which is very likely), you can double spend. But it can be fixed using normalization. Scrypt is about 1024 times SHA. You'd have to calculate the relative weight for other algos. dev: you can contact me if you need help fixing this, I have experience with alt PoWs - I'm the developer of Riecoin (new primes PoW - currently cpu only) Someone mentioned a bounty for a technical study on 51% attacks.
