7401  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero - A secure, private, untraceable cryptocurrency (mandatory upgrade) on: October 02, 2014, 05:01:08 AM
Did anyone notice how BTC/Stamp and XMR/Polo charts look almost identical?

XMR will be at the same level as BTC AND HIGHER in the future.

New and improved!

BTC = Gold (store of value but not many industrial use)

XMR = Platinum (more rare and many industrial uses)

I thnk you're the insecure type who has to have the last word no matter how wishy-washy your arguments. I can just let it go since I made my points already ( 1) the Ukraine fiasco is already checkmated shortly & (2) that the Anglo-Zionist-American now only relies on hype to maintain its pretension to power).

But I want to help you to get rid of your tendency to be intellectually dishonest, perhaps I can make a more intellectually satisfying discussion with you in the future (this time, frankly, it's like talking with a high school kid, lamentably  Tongue): those which you call "shiny terminals" in Qatar, Alaska, etc. have been there for a time  and they will still always go to where they have been sent all along  because , as proved by the confirmation of their shale oil propaganda, the US has no extra capacity to supplant other markets. The hype was blown.

At least you admitted, there are many manipulated data. Nice start of regaining a fairer mind there...

How is maturing LNG production and distribution "hype?"

Why are you still confusing shale oil (which is over hyped) with LNG (which is a reality)?

First you say that LNG is "hype" then you say the terminals have been there a long time?  Which one is it?

America, Canada, Qatar, etc. have plenty of extra capacity to supplant markets abandoned by Moscow.

From TODAY:

Quote
The U.S. natural gas boom is poised to go global as the government approves projects that will export the fuel to buyers from Tokyo to New Delhi.

Dominion Resources Inc.’s Cove Point terminal in Maryland won authorization Sept. 29 from the U.S. Federal Energy Regulatory Commission to ship liquefied natural gas around the world. It’s the fourth export project to win permission and the first outside the Gulf of Mexico. Construction will cost between $3.4 billion and $3.8 billion, Dominion said yesterday.

Advances in drilling techniques including hydraulic fracturing have pushed U.S. natural gas output to a record every year since 2011 and made the country the world’s largest producer.
U.S. supplies will compete with cargoes from Qatar and Australia, two of the biggest exporters, shifting global movements of the super-chilled fuel.

“In our projections the U.S. becomes a significant LNG exporter, taking the bronze medal after Qatar and Australia,” Laszlo Varro, head of gas, coal and electricity markets at the International Energy Agency, said in an interview in Berlin yesterday.

http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2014-09-30/u-s-gas-boom-turns-global-as-lng-exports-set-to-shake-up-market.html

Have the Cove Point and the other 3 new terminals "been there a long time?"  LOL, you know nothing Jon Snow!   Wink

LOL, Were you hiding under the rocks? Everything in Anglo-Zionist-American land is manipulated data.

That is part of the propaganda. Look for the oil bonanza where you can (below is the first of the exposures of the shale oil propaganda, there's a series of them if you care to research on that)...

http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2014-05-22/us-shale-oil-miracle-disappears

I'm glad you read 0H, it's a great site.

But please acknowledge that shale oil is a different product than natural gas, because confusing the two makes you look foolish (fuelish?).

Much of the Anglosphere's data is manipulated, we can agree on that.

However, those shiny new terminals in Qatar, Alaska, Louisiana, and Texas are filling huge tankers with LNG, not with manipulated data.

Qatari and Texan businessmen did not become incredibly rich and powerful by dealing in fake bullshit.  They invest in LNG because Gasputin's antics are increasing demand for their product with every day that passes.

I'm not a fan of petrodollar hegemony any more than you, and wish Gasputin would stop putting it on life-support with his aggressive expansion.

Sincerely,

Clearly, the only thing left in the arsenal of the Anglo-Zionist-American  is propaganda. Economically, it has been seen how it has become a wimp. Militarily, well, it lost all its wars and it will lose again and again . It now ONLY relies on HYPE- create distractions so the world can't see for what it really has become- a trying-hard "has-been", over-the-hill power. Create the most heinous terror so the world will be too terrified to see it has become bankrupt & "pussified" (that's why we have the horrific MH17, Twin Tower bombing, the shelling of civilian population in Donetsk, etc.). That's why we have the color revolutions so we will presume that it's capacity to bribe corrupt people and subvert the will of the people will be mistaken for democracy. LOL. The people has seen through it.

The end is near, actually. The petrodollar is dead. Its propaganda is dead....

Propaganda isn't the only thing left in the Anglo-Zionist-American arsenal.

We also have a vast amount of hydrocarbons, and the infrastructure to distribute them.

Those gargantuan LNG terminals and ships are not "propaganda" or "hype" - they are facts on the ground and in the water.

The petrodollar was dying, until America's energy exports surged over the last few years.  Look at the US dollar index and the price of gold.

Are you denying that America is once again an energy exporting powerhouse, and that has revived the petrodollar?

Going on 10 and 11 days and still nothing from BCX of actual substance concerning the supposed "exploit" and "attack"?

Gee what a surprise...  Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

The XMR price is so low, the hash rate is so high. Does it indicate something like active attack is going on?

I don't think so.

I called it as I saw it that BCX was just hott air when it came to an actual legitimate exploit to the XMR protocol. Look at his history of "attacking" Litecoin in 2012. Not much different outcome.

I said 22 days for it to come through, this is day 11.

Do numbers confuse you?

So if you're so sure then why don't you put up the 500 BTC and take the BCX challenge?

You definitely have the funds.

Let's throw some more skin in the arena too shall we.

Take the challenge and as well let's throw our accounts into the mix too.

The winner takes all, 500 BTC and each other's account.

So if you decline consider yourself PWND by BCX, STFU and anything you say from this point is pretty much invalid.

7409  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Monero Funding - Brainstorm Thread. Lets fix it. on: October 01, 2014, 10:36:26 PM
rdnkjdi has some things backwards, here is the correct version.

Healthy Ideas

 - Setting aside 1% of ongoing mining to development fund.  This fixes the current situation where the devs give away valuable code and miners thus subsidized enjoy excess profit as free riders.  It is analogous to a consumption/sales tax on blocks, which is held by free market economics to be the 'least worst' kind of tax.  This approach has been successfully demonstrated by BBR.

 - Taking the tail end 1% of Monero's to be distributed from mining and auction them off now to fund development.  This fixes the currently broken social contract where costs are (at best) commonized while profit is privatized.  As a flat wealth tax, it is perfectly fair because the larger one's stake and potential gains the more they are held responsible and accountable for the coin's future.  This approach has been successfully demonstrated by VIA.

Undesirable ideas

 - Transaction fees.  Fees discourage use, which is fatal to young coins because of the reverse network effect leading to a downward spiral.  Although a proven option for a coin which has reached critical mass, only Bitcoin and Litecoin enjoy tx volume sufficient to make fees a viable funding source.  XMR does not have a monopoly on CN technology, so tx fees only create incentive to use BBR or XDN instead.  Like an income tax, tx fees discourage and prevent beneficial productive commerce.

 - Bounties on projects.  Already rejected by devs for ReasonsTM, such as not providing for continuing care and maintenance, or emergency response, etc.  Also suffers from free rider problem, where everyone profits but only a few (altruistic suckers) bear the costs.
7410  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Anyone following the ebola outbreak? on: October 01, 2014, 09:53:04 PM
Using his algorithms, Texas has a <1% chance (0.002%) of being the hop off point for an infected ebola patient.
Texas would have better disease identification capabilities than most destinations, so if you agree with his premises, it may be reasonable to assume that ebola is also already elsewhere undetected.

Very astute analysis.  Time to fire up the colloid generator!

bitfreak, but they are right about marketing. Not a lot people are aware of cryptonite right now, and the name of this coin makes people confused too.
Quoted for emphasis!

Like pounding sand for whipping the ocean, there is no point to advertising when the name sounds mostly/exactly like a family/POW of much more well known coins.  BF has made sure that XCN will live or die based only on its technological merits, not marketing.

Speaking of tech, are mini-blockchains compatible with CoinShuffle?  In my limited understand of the two, they seem like an ideal match.

there's no way any of the ETF's will allow settlement for retail investors with the underlying, be it gold or BTC.

Sprott's bullion trusts (EG PHYS) trade at a premium over paper-backed ones because they feature settlement in underlying good.

Perhaps a BTC trust may become available as well.  Easier to audit them than counting bars in a vault!

7414  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Donetsk, Kharkov, Lugansk - way to Russia. on: October 01, 2014, 08:45:55 PM
Cutting off the pipeline to Ukraine doesn't mean cutting off the gas to the major  European countries like Germany because the NOrd Stream will still  be open. The pipeline through Ukraine only affects those found south of it like Slovakia, Romania, Bulagaria, Hungary, etc. But then the interconnection from Germany-Czech Republic will ensure supply to HUngary, Slovakia & down south but will leave the villains cold- Ukraine, Poland, Romania.  Cheesy

THe LNG will never work in bankrupt European economies because it is more expensive. The liquefacttion process dissipates 1/4 of the volume so they will lose much of the gas. That doesn't include the expensive infrastructures needed. Handling and distribution costs. More expensive gas, more inconvenience. Take note we are talking of hard-up countries which don't have deep pockets here because of their low growth & high debts. The LNG shift is not a small thing but could crash their highly-leverage economies.

This is just one of the minor moves- the freezing of Ukraine (the Ukie NAZIs will become insane trying to escape the cold & the pitchforks of  the angry people who are freezing to death because of the NAZI stupidity). There are many more moves, btw. It is still a long game but I guess this winter may just end all the delusions of the stupid NAZI putschists.

Poland is a villain?  For what?  Being being carved up by Molotov-Ribbentrop, then occupied by two successive totalitarian regimes?

That's exactly the kind of Kremlin apologist's revisionist history that drove the Baltic states into the welcoming arms of NATO, to soon be joined by Ukraine and Belarus, with central Asian states following.

How wise of you to drop your previous claim that LNG terminals cannot withstand low temperatures, because that was a stupid, easily disproved thing to say.   Grin

I already remarked on the massive expense of LNG infrastructure, while making the point that Gasputin's Crimean offensive will serve to accelerate its development regardless of high costs.

LNG technology will only improve, and the more the Bear reverts to its bad old ways of violence the more motivated the research for higher liquefaction recoveries.  NATO and its Middle Eastern puppets have so much gas available, and the ships are so gargantuan, we don't really mind losing 1/4 of the volume; its just the cost of doing business.

Speaking of business, the clients Gasputin sacrifices for the sake of aggression (Slovakia, Romania, Bulagaria, Hungary, etc.) have highly educated populations and improving economies which stand to benefit from the information revolution, especially as catalyzed by Bitcoin.

If they can't afford the LNG investment now, don't worry because the IMF/World Bank oligarchs are more than happy to lend them the money.  That emphasizes my point about Gasputin's evil only serving the interests of New York/London/Moscow high finance at the expense of all the world's regular people.

I understand that comprehending real economics is difficult for you, having been brainwashed by Marxist nonsense, but please look into the Austrian and Chicago schools, so you will become capable of understanding things like supply and demand.   Wink

Interesting, XMR is the only coin in the top 15 (it is 4th) without a BTC address listed to pay for votes.
https://www.cryptsy.com/coinvotes/

Shows how well it actually is doing...

IAS

You can still buy cryptsy point to vote, but indeed interesting to see. Also #2 and #3 are pretty much dead if you look at coinmarketcap.com.

The vote totals should decay over time, with a half life of 6 months or so.

Of course that would mean less BribeCoins for Craptsy, so it won't happen.   Cheesy

I didn't expect anything from you, this coin looked like absolute empty hype to me. But you've clearly thrown very significant efforts into these new features, bravo! Smiley

I want to congratulate you too. Although, I didn't not expect anything from you. Well done.

DuckNote was a fun response to Doge, and as such nothing serious.

DarkNote is a legitimate coin, with new features unmatched by its Cryptonote siblings.

dNote has underpromised and overdelivered.  That's how it should be done!   Cool

It usualy enough an one post, one statement, to express your position and let everyone know your feelings.

But loud flooding along the thread in few pages  -  this is at least bad manners. (don't confuse with bad moneros)

That's why i made warning, and then removed one his post. But not because i was disagree - everyone knows that i'm the biggest fun of boolberry name.

One post is not enough, because in a discussion ideas are discussed, IE developed by a back-and-forth between participants.

sussex didn't spam or flood the exact same thing repeatedly, he participated in an ongoing conversation with a high degree of intelligence.

The 'problem' was that his arguments were far superior to the opposing privileged Official point of view.

It is not unusual on the internet for the person losing a debate to accuse the other person of 'trolling' or 'spamming' but that is just an excuse for being unable to convince others based on the merits of a crappy argument.

Sometimes if a person just expresses their position and leaves instead of responding to criticism of it, people call it 'hit-and-run' posting.

I'm glad the stupid renaming attempt has been shit-canned forever.  Nobody wanted the death metal neckbeard orc-and-hobbits "Rune" or the obscure Latin "Aureaum" and sussex was right to state, and then defend from criticism, his opinion on the matter - which ultimately prevailed in a completely lopsided vote!   Cool
7420  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Donetsk, Kharkov, Lugansk - way to Russia. on: October 01, 2014, 04:28:55 AM
Pooty-poot can use his 'Gas Weapon' all he likes.  Doing so only accelerates development of competing LNG facilities, while breathing new life into the petrodollar.   Cool

Btw, it's obvious the game plan is to use the ISIS drama to force a pipeline to Syria but like so many of the failures in the last decade, that won't pass. Those villains who survived the Iskandar missiles would have frozen to death by then...

Take a test: stay in a freezer -20 then try to build a gas storage tank, see how long you will last... Grin

Multi-billion dollar LNG terminals mean we don't need to rely on piplines.  Did you see the size of those ships?  They are freaking enormous!

The picture above is in Alaska, where  -20 is considered to be a nice sunny day and a vast pipeline has been running sine the 70s.   Cheesy

The point is that if Gazprom (AKA GASPUTIN) does not wish to sell its products to Europe, Chevron and Exxon are very happy for the increased business.

That, in turn, prolongs the life span of the petrodollar hegemony.  Vlad Putin is in check, with no good moves left on the board.   Cool
