7401  Economy / Exchanges / Re: I sold my litecoin twice on Cryptopia on: March 04, 2019, 05:39:06 AM
The double spend might have been made possible, because your transaction was done off-chain on their internal database. You cannot do this "on-chain" because you need to have control over 51% of the hash power of that specific coin. The site is closed now, so you will not be able to rectify the problem. <Did you manage to withdraw the second amount or is this just the balance that are shown in your wallet?>

It just shows you why centralized services like this, is never a good idea.  Tongue
7402  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Something newbies should know about Bitcoin on: March 04, 2019, 05:32:54 AM
The problem with this is that most people walk around like donkeys with flaps at the side of their face. The government put the flaps there with Fiat currencies, for them not to see the financial "freedom" that we have come to see with the introduction of Bitcoin. It is our responsibility to share Bitcoin with those stubborn donkeys and to steer them into a new direction.  Grin

You do not know what financial freedom means, until it is taken away. <Just ask China and Greece and Zimbabwe>  Wink
7403  Economy / Gambling / Re: FreeBitco.in - Contest with $30,000 in GUARANTEED PRIZES now live! on: March 03, 2019, 08:18:24 AM
Something just happened which I only realized late but I made my biggest deposit last week and left it on auto for about 100k rolls at the smallest 1 satoshi martingale. I ddn't even check what happened, assumed it had just finished because I've done 100k plenty of times with even lower balances. I hit my worst streak so far so quickly haha!

Good news is I activated a huge bonus and was left with 30% of bankroll. I'm going to sit tight for a while and stick to 4x RP and up. Good luck all!

A 1 Satoshi Martingale can quickly add up to a lot of Satoshi's if you are on a losing streak. Unfortunately I cannot do this with my account, because it will quickly eat into my deposit balance that I left there for the 4.08% interest that I earn on the site.  Angry

I can assure you the Martingale strategy does not work on Freebitco.in in, I tried it with several different variants and all of them failed. I do not think that they implemented a counter measure for it, but I do know it does not work.

Good luck, you might be more lucky than I were before.  Roll Eyes
7404  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: I am looking for people to participate in a challenge... on: March 03, 2019, 08:07:39 AM
Ok, so you want smart people to help you solve a puzzle, with no guarantee that they might get any reward for their effort? I doubt if smart people like that will share their time and energy to solve puzzles like this and who says one of them will not rather do this on their own, when they see 300 bitcoins on offer.  Roll Eyes

Good luck getting smart people who will be willing to work for a chance to get a possible reward.  Tongue  Most of these puzzles are solved by friends or family of the creator of the puzzles. <My own conspiracy theory>  Roll Eyes
7405  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I Screwed Up on: March 03, 2019, 07:25:19 AM
I was trying to transfer my Bitcoin and for some reason my Bitcoin was sent to the wrong address, I just started to use bitcoin recently and now i'm suck on how to get my money back. The transaction ID is (0d2ab7e318058c36f10ad06c26b79ebde8ea532551f78d9150759e591a3a674e) and it was sent to this address (bc1qy4jleyqse9jka39296vzn6ykx7hk3mh63zpwvl) which I did not create nor facilitate which confuses me the most. Please help me if possible thanks.

If you have no idea whose address that is, then your device might be infected with malware or virus. There are some of this which changes what you copied into their own wallet address so they get to steal your funds while others records what you type and copy.

By the way I checked the address bc1qy4jleyqse9jka39296vzn6ykx7hk3mh63zpwvl and that it is receiving funds from 4 addresses. Are those all your addresses? Or which one is yours?
And what wallet or exchange where you using and where were you trying to send them?

All 4 of those addresses belong to me, I was using electrum, and I was trying to send the balance to an online market.

Did Electrum ask you for any updates when you tried to send your funds? If it did, then you have been a victim of the latest exploit in Electrum. https://steemit.com/bitcoin/@kingscrown/important-do-not-use-electrum-for-now-huge-exploit-found

There are some "infected" servers that force you to install a fake update of Electrum and when you try to send bitcoins, it captures your password and then they send bitcoins to their own Bitcoin address.

Warnings have been posted everywhere, cannot believe you missed it.   Huh
7406  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Lightning Network node income? Please share some info on: March 03, 2019, 06:28:22 AM
Most Signature campaign members are doing this for extra income and a lot of them are not going to have the money to fund a Lightning Network hub. Yes, you might generate a little bit of money, but I doubt if it would be more than the interest you would have received, if you simply deposited that money into a Bank. <The interest rate in some developing countries range from 5% to 10%>  Tongue

So the question is, would you lock up say $1000 worth of bitcoins in a LN Hub for say a few cents profit a month or get $8 interest on the same amount, when you deposit it into a Bank account at a fixed interest rate.  Huh
7407  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Best way to pay newbie with bitcoin? on: March 03, 2019, 06:17:23 AM
If I understand what you are missing, you need to use Localbitcoin.com or Paxful, the platform is easy and people are trusted "check them profiles" to buy and sell BTC safely.
About converting to PayPal try virwox "High fees but trusted exchange.".

You obviously have not used Localbitcoin.com recently, they also started to request KYC verification these days.  Roll Eyes  They were the go to service for these kinds of service, but they also bowed to government pressure. The problem is, as soon as there are Fiat involved and also Banks, the service used will always demand KYC/AML verification. <Fiat = Government money>  Roll Eyes

You might try some of the decentralized exchanges, because some of them are still new and they do not require verification yet. <They might be too dificult for newbies>  Tongue
7408  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Warren Buffet statement again on: March 03, 2019, 05:48:59 AM
Just remember one thing, every Dollar invested into Bitcoin is possibly a Dollar that could be invested in the commodity or stock that he is invested in, so it devalues his investments, when people invest in Bitcoin and Crypto currencies. Why would a Goldbug praise Bitcoin for instance, when that money could have driven up the demand for Gold?

They all have hidden agendas and most of them in the commodity markets and stock markets are taking big losses at the moment, so they have to bash the competing investment tools.  Angry
7409  Economy / Economics / Re: Cashless Economy: Is Society ready for transformation? on: March 02, 2019, 07:11:40 AM
India has been against Bitcoin for some time now, so I presume their reason for that might be that they are planning to create their own GovCoin to achieve the cashless economy with their own shitcoin.  Roll Eyes

India are also struggling with the highest level of corruption in their government, so I would not be amazed if they push all other Crypto currencies out of India and forcing people to use their shitcoin.  Roll Eyes

Time will tell, but the signs are there already.  Angry
7410  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-3-1]Bitcoin Exceeds PayPal in Annual Transaction Vol at $1.3T on: March 02, 2019, 07:06:00 AM
I do not want to take PayPal's side of this argument, but it will be fair to say that most PayPal transactions exceeds say $10 per transaction <because of expensive fees that needs to be paid to use their service>  This is not the same for Bitcoin transactions, because a lot more cheap micro transactions are being done with Bitcoin. <Much less than $5 transactions at a fraction of the price>

We have not even considered the millions of off-chain transactions that are done via the Lightning Network now. So PayPal cannot compete with Bitcoin anymore, when it comes to transaction volume.  Roll Eyes
7411  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: how with 5G be with bitcoin? on: March 02, 2019, 06:45:20 AM
Any increase in Internet speed will make things a lot easier for most people running full Bitcoin nodes. I presume cutting edge new technology like 5G will be very expensive in the beginning, so it will not be very affordable to the average user. Bandwidth cost on mobile devices are also more expensive, so it will not be very practical to use it for services and Apps that needs a lot of Bandwidth. <Downloading the Blockchain>  Roll Eyes

Most average users will use online wallets and exchanges and they do not require fast internet speed for that.  Roll Eyes
7412  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: GEOCACHE AFRICA 2018 UPDATE: Cache found!!!!!! on: March 02, 2019, 06:35:30 AM
I'm pretty sure that whoever found the cache will not share his story for privacy reasons.
Or by "other" means:

Cropped image from post#2:

I got a hunch that it was never found but the fund was moved because the private key is (barely) visible in the 2nd post's image (It is surprisingly high resolution in full size).
By looking at the original image, anyone (with 20/20 vision) can guess the possible characters of the private key (just like the "5" first character).
It will take time using manual trial and error and it does took over a year before the fund was spent.

I did a double take when I read your post, lol. But it is the public key that you see in the photo. The private key is folded inside. If I had screwed up and exposed the key then more power to the winner. I like a contest with few rules and if the finder of the cache wants to remain anonymous then that's okay also.

Why not include a URL link with the box that points to this kind of thread to incentivize the person to share his or her story. You can also tell them that you will double the prize, if they share their story on this forum. <Put something in the paper work that they must mention to claim the prize.>

I just want to congratulate and thank you for doing this for Bitcoin adoption and I would encourage more people to do this or to crowdfund similar projects like this. <OP should give us a Bitcoin address to send donations to for the next GEOCACHE prize, he should not have to fund this on his own>  Roll Eyes
7413  Economy / Gambling / Re: FreeBitco.in - Contest with $30,000 in GUARANTEED PRIZES now live! on: March 02, 2019, 06:07:32 AM
One of the oldest sites out there. They are paying for a very long time with no problems. I have always got my BTC paid from this site.

Thanks for sharing I haven't use them for a while. Is nice to go back after some time and see your BTC in the account are waiting for you.

I wish I also had some referrals making money for me. How do people collect them? I know posting it on other forums, twitter etc may get you 1-2 refs if you are lucky but I am seeing people with hundreds of refs.

I hate to be a ref to somebody else and my mistake is I assume everybody is like me so I don't even bother with sharing my ref link. Sad

I was very successful in gathering referrals when I was using my Bitcointalk signature to advertise this service. Only that was a few years ago.

Today this isn't so easy because the majority of interested in crypto people already know about this site or even have an account there.

The only way is to find newcomers which are not so easy today. Such a promotion as this one 30K $ can be helpful.

I paid someone to create banner ads for me and I posted it on other platforms and I was also very successful in the early days. Since the Bitcoin price has fallen with more than 80%, my new referrals has dropped with almost 95%.  Tongue

I also struggle to retain referrals, because they quickly realize that the big prizes are not easily won and a couple of FREE Satoshi are not valued a lot, when you convert back to Fiat currencies.  Tongue
7414  Economy / Gambling / Re: Stake.com 2 Just Launched! New games, updated design 💎💣🎰🎲♠️ on: March 01, 2019, 07:31:13 AM
Limbo and video poker player here mate, but  most of the time I play dice trying to create new strategy to extend my playing time and enjoy
hoping for luck to show up and give me some decent winnings, if you will check the chat room there's lots of players who's able to win huge,
they are sharing the betslip and sometimes share the rain.
Strategies should be adjusted and changed over time, right?
Because gambling sites always adjusted their sites and games' algorithms, so gamblers have to adapt to those changes to survive and increase their odds to win.
It is a very challenging, un-stoppable natural gambling selection.

I doubt if strategies have anything to do with gambling success in games that are offered by Stake at the moment. I have tried several known gambling strategies like Martingale and Betting on Baccarat’s Banker Hand etc, but it all failed.

Gambling is based on luck and the lower the house edge, the higher the probability that you might win a bit more. Stake has some of the lowest house edge on their games, so you should be able to play a little bit longer with the same amount of money that you would have been playing at casinos with a higher house edge.  Roll Eyes
7415  Economy / Gambling / Re: FreeBitco.in - Contest with $30,000 in GUARANTEED PRIZES now live! on: March 01, 2019, 07:13:43 AM
What are you waiting for? I've already told you many times that we only recover accounts if we receive a Bitcoin signed message proving ownership. They cannot be faked and we can verify them unlike videos and screenshots.

The fact that he is a newbie maybe he doesn't know that thing... And maybe that's the reason why he's ignoring the suggestion, if not it is something fishy...

As for @bitmaster88 try to look at this, READ IT VERY CAREFULLY AND UNDERSTAND WHAT IT SAYS. How to Sign A Message

They do know what it is because I've already explained it to them many times. They can't sign a message because they used a service rather than a wallet. For some reason, they seem to think if they just keep on requesting the same thing over and over again they will get a different answer.

you can call Coinbase, believe me. You can also call my email services. You do not care. Mainly you earn money. It does not matter how fucking other people goes.
they only think about themselves.

And you can keep proposing things other than a Bitcoin signed message for the rest of your life without any success.

If they think I'm faking my evidence then they're wrong. I do that with my mobile.you cant fake with phone

even Coinbase can confirm that I am the right owner. If they do not want that and prefer to fool people, that's just it. I hope you get to the face that it hurts

Have you ever heard about a Sim swap? Scammers clone sim cards and they get you to reboot your phone. When you do that, they use their own cloned sim card and viola, they own your phone and can do whatever they want to.

I am also curious why you have not used the "Sign a message" option within Coinbase yet? TheQuin are 100% within his rights not to honour your request, if you have not signed the Bitcoin address, because that is standard practice on all sites, when you want to make changes.  Tongue
7416  Economy / Economics / Re: Is anybody tracking lost bitcoins? on: March 01, 2019, 06:55:17 AM
Well, you can track some of the coins that was "burned" on purpose. Those Burn addresses are public knowledge, so you can have a centralized website with links to all the burn addresses. Here are one article that dealt with "lost" bitcoins.  Tongue http://fortune.com/2017/11/25/lost-bitcoins/

These are just a small fraction of the known losses and I think there are a lot more that was simply not reported. <People who are too ashamed to admit it>  Roll Eyes

7417  Economy / Exchanges / Re: #DeleteCoinbase - what is going on with Coinbase? on: March 01, 2019, 06:30:10 AM
Those are 3 critical indicators that Coinbase is pulling a "Circle" on the Bitcoin community. Everyone know Ripple is a Bank puppet and now they bring that into their service. They also know the history behind Neutrino (Hacking team) and their previous involvement with Mallware, but they still "trust" them.

They should not be surprised when the Bitcoin community starts to turn their back on them, because they are turning into the service that Bitcoin was meant to be replaced. <Centralized service that exploit their power and their users and also contributing to mass surveillance by governments and private individuals.>  Angry
7418  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Do not use Coinbase on: March 01, 2019, 06:17:39 AM
Coinbase will just become the next "Circle" or "Ripple", where they bend over to government pressure and greed to sacrifice their users. They hook you into their service with a bunch of empty promises in the beginning and over time greed cloud their basic principles and they completely change their business model to satisfy Banks and governments.  Roll Eyes

People are slowly getting fed up with their poor customer support and "PayPal" type decision making, where accounts gets blocked for one sided decisions that are made by centralized organizations that are government puppets.  Sad
7419  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: 3-D Mining Farm on: March 01, 2019, 06:08:59 AM
Why do we need a decentralized mining operation? I know people use decentralization to prevent attacks from hackers and governments that are trying to take it down. Is this one of the motivations behind a decentralized mining operation or is this more about decentralized decision making powers?

It could also mean that decentralized mining operations might prevent a 51% attack, if the mining pools are more decentralized. Right?

Please expand a bit more on the concept and what the motivation for this was.  Huh

I will respond to this in the:

"Why Geothermal Energy is simply better for mining"

thread

Ah, I get it... you just posted this here to get more views on Youtube for your videos. You are even pointing to your next video, before it is even released.  Roll Eyes

Man, I would panic like crazy, if I had to rely on someone else to transport me back and forth from my home to the shore. What happens in an emergency situation or if you quickly need something from the shop. <Surely your friend will get irritated, if you push his button for small trips>

What kind of internet connectivity are you getting there or do you want to be "away" from the internet too?

I watched a documentary on deep sea drilling and the construction of massive oil drilling platforms and they also had the problem with buoyancy, but they constructed ballast chambers that can be filled with sand or water, depending on the amount of buoyancy that you need. So in rough sea conditions, they fill it more to reduce the buoyancy.  Grin  <Extreme engineering>
