7401  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Biggest bitcoin "giveaway" scam I've ever seen... on: May 16, 2020, 10:48:57 PM
A classic fake-giveaway scam. We have been tracking this kind of theme attacks for many months now, you can refer to @dkbit98 thread, [SCAM] Avrobit exchange (and all yellow clones) Alert.
This kind of scam activities is widespread these days and by looking at the site provided by OP and the one @dkbit98 thread the site looks almost the same. Besides, i think the scam activities was done by the same group of people.
People need to be careful of fake giveaways done by crypto scammer.

Yes, guaranteed that the behind people this scam are the same. And we really don't think initially that the list will grow like this one. But I guess those cyber criminals are not going to stop, we just temporarily halted their operations. But we're going to exposed them here in this community to give warning especially to newbies not to fall for this trick.

I would not pay attention to the predictions of a newspaper wannabe who cannot even spell cost correctly.
And FYI, this kind of predictions are thrown out only for publicity / traffic.

Right, and this is probably Don't get tricked by hidden spam on this forum. So why bother read this this rubbish article?

7405  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Stability zone and Altcoins on: May 15, 2020, 10:41:41 PM
Hello to all members, hope every body will be fine and safe during this deadly COVID-19 pandemic. #StayHome #StaySafe

As we all knew about Bitcoins recently halving event, Which has been done and now Bitcoin is becomes more Rare to mine.

Here i want to know the kind opinion of BTT community:

What is the stability zone of Bitcoin Price ?

  • What is the stability zone of Bitcoin Price ?

Volatility and stability doesn't go hand-in-hand. So the answer is there are no stability in bitcoin.

  • Still Altcoin's downtrend continue ?

Altcoin market is a pure pump and dump market now. Maybe, just maybe when bitcoin goes on a bull run again, possible that altcoin will go pump as well.

  • What is the perfect time to buy Altcoins?

No one can timing altcoin market.

  • When we can see a strong bounce back in altcoins

When there is FOMO, however, don't expect something similar to 2017. Altcoin investors have matured already. And almost all of them are still way below from their ATH, like -60%-99% down.

There's even a plaque on the wall wherein the pizza was purchased by Laszlo at Atlantic Boulevard.

History making for that Papa John's.

7407  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Hashrate is dropping on: May 15, 2020, 09:37:56 PM
After halving, we can say some miners have left. What do you think? More miners will leave too? And what if hashrate drop more?

Who cares, difficulty will adjust sooner or later and we'll go back to 10 minutes blocks soon. There's nothing extraordinary or unpredictable about halvings, everyone knew about them, everyone who needed prepared for them. There won't be any "death spiral" or whatever other FUD people may be spreading these days. There's nothing to worry about it.

I guess it's too early to say, why not give at least a week to see how it goes for the miners. The decline might indicate that some miners have turn-off their rigs and shut down their operations because it is harder for some of them to make profit, but it doesn't mean the 'capitulation'. And rainy season is coming to South East Asia (we just have a typhoon here), which, and as we all know that Chinese miners is generating power from hydro-electric, so maybe we won't see any death spiral post-halving.
7408  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who owns the bitcoin trademark? on: May 15, 2020, 02:24:43 PM
And if you're wondering about the Bitcoin Logo (BTC), it is part of a public domain:

https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Bitcoin_logo.svg

I thought Mark Karpeles had something to do with trademarks at some point and this seems to confirm it - https://blogs.wsj.com/japanrealtime/2014/05/28/mt-gox-operator-looks-to-sell-bitcoin-trademarks/

I'm not sure what powers or rights it actually gave him or where. He is of course long gone now. Couldn't think of a more responsible custodian so let's get him back on board.

Interesting to note that that the trademarks will expire in 2021 in EU and 2022 in Japan. And we don't know if Mark Karpeles will renew it or not.
7409  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Halving 2020 on: May 14, 2020, 11:55:53 PM
Hello guys anyone know what is the price of 1 btc will be in 2022
Why do you think there would be someone over here who would know what the price of bitcoin will be in 2022? No one knows what the price will be in 2022. If someone tells you he knows what the price is, he is just lying to you.
You know, if we knew what the price would be, we all would be rich by now.

Unless that person has the crystal ball to predict and see the future.  Cheesy

I think everyone should move on now, halving is completed. So it's about time to see what it will bring to the market in months or years. @mk4 posted 3 possible scenarios, and what we can do is that the scenarios will be on our favour.
7410  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Why You choose Crypto Trading instead of Forex Trading. on: May 14, 2020, 11:35:51 PM
The simple answer is that there are more profits in crypto because of its volatility. Individuals can go to an exchange, buy and slowly learn to trade and make money specially that the market is open 24x7 . Forex is somewhat stable and if you are person that doesn't have the patience then it's not for you. So I would say that it is somewhat related to our lifestyle. If you have the personality that want more risk more reward then crypto trading is for you.

7412  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Betting this June? on: May 14, 2020, 02:50:23 PM
^^ That would be great if Arum will get Inoue so that we can finally see the fight that we all have been waiting for this year. Yes, this will be just a trial basis for Top Rank, I'm sure that they are boxers on the lower tier willing to accept just to earn in this new boxing norm. Boxing authorities (state athletic commissions, boxing organisers and bodies) should come up with a clear guidelines and regulations before allowing this to happen.

Though this bout is not only promoted by Top Rank but Arum has a lot of influence in the US so it's really good for Manny to team up with Arum in promoting the fight. His statement seems very convincing, then for sure we can expect this to happen.

I'm not just talking about boxing promoters, What I mean is that all bodies, (WBC/WBC/IBO/IBF) and athletics, (Nevada State Athletics/Los Angeles State Athletics and others) should come up with a clear guidelines on how they are going to stage not just small fights but name fighters who are fighting for a belt.

Yes, Bob Arum's sphere of influence is big and maybe he is the right person to bring everyone in the table and everyone agreeing. So that we can see the likes of Canelo or our very own Filipino boxers in the ring again.
7413  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin popped $10 000 on: May 14, 2020, 02:15:18 PM

Although we have completed the halving, it seems that we're still in the momentum so we may reclaim $10k soon, before the end of this month.

It's at 9.3K as we speak, up we go!

$9500-$9600 as I type this reply.

So I'm still optimistic that we are going to hit $10k very soon. I think whatever you call it, bubble or something, bitcoin price is cyclical, we hit some ceiling before going down again. It's just the nature of it, the good thing is that we still have a lot of leg room to see the price going into another bubble, it might take years again before we can finally see that all-time-high again.

Another one reported it this thread, Biggest bitcoin "giveaway" scam I've ever seen...

Usually these cyber criminals uses Discord and Twitter as their main platform to scam people. So just like the OP, I received this kind of message. So that's how I was able to track and report them here.

And it feels good that the sites that we have reported have been shutdown for good. And with this latest scam attempt, I think they may have to drop the *bit keyword in their domain name.

LOL, maybe they just take a break and watch bitcoin halving unfolds, then once it is finished, those cyber criminals went back to work and spread new sets of this fake clone sites.

I have reported those websites reported @FatFork, let's see how long it will take to get this sites offline.

7416  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin popped $10 000 on: May 13, 2020, 10:23:32 PM
I was happy seeing this gain on 7 of May 2020 only to wake up this morning to see another heavy lose of above 12% within 24 hours. It seems some one or one of the big whales plays smartness on others.
12% increase and 15% decrease is very interesting, as experts say in 2017,
Bitcoin is a bubble that may still be valid, $ 10,000 and drops back to $ 8600

As of now, I wouldn't call bitcoin a bubble, we're still in the 4 digit, I'm sure you have seen the what happened in 2017 started that year ~$1k then reach all time high in December @$19k that is a bubble.

Although we have completed the halving, it seems that we're still in the momentum so we may reclaim $10k soon, before the end of this month.

7418  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: SEC vs Telegram Group Inc on: May 13, 2020, 11:47:53 AM
It's toast. Telegram have announced that they have thrown in the towel - https://techcrunch.com/2020/05/12/telegram-abandons-its-ton-blockchain-platform/

It looks like they're pinning its demise entirely on the legal meddling they experienced from the US.

I'll go straight on the source:

Quote
For the last 2,5 years some of our best engineers have been working on a next-generation blockchain platform called TON and a cryptocurrency we were going to name Gram. TON was designed to share the principles of decentralization pioneered by Bitcoin and Ethereum, but to be vastly superior to them in speed and scalability.

We were very proud with the result – the technology we created allowed for an open, free, decentralized exchange of value and ideas. When integrated with Telegram, TON had the potential to revolutionize how people store and transfer funds and information.

Unfortunately, a US court stopped TON from happening. How? Imagine that several people put their money together to build a gold mine – and to later split the gold that comes out of it. Then a judge comes and tells the mine builders: "Many people invested in the gold mine because they were looking for profits. And they didn't want that gold for themselves, they wanted to sell it to other people. Because of this, you are not allowed to give them the gold."

If this doesn't make sense to you, you are not alone – but this is exactly what happened with TON (the mine), its investors, and Grams (the gold). A judge used this reasoning to rule that people should not be allowed to buy or sell Grams like they can buy or sell Bitcoins.

Perhaps even more paradoxically, the US court declared that Grams couldn't be distributed not only in the United States, but globally. Why? Because, it said, a US citizen might find some way of accessing the TON platform after it launched. So, to prevent this, Grams shouldn’t be allowed to be distributed anywhere in the world – even if every other country on the planet seemed to be perfectly fine with TON.

This court decision implies that other countries don’t have the sovereignty to decide what is good and what is bad for their own citizens. If the US suddenly decided to ban coffee and demanded coffee shops in Italy be closed because some American might go there – we doubt anyone would agree.

And yet, despite that, we have made the difficult decision not to proceed with TON.

Sadly, the US judge is right about one thing: we, the people outside the US, can vote for our presidents and elect our parliaments, but we are still dependent on the United States when it comes to finance and technology (luckily not coffee). The US can use its control over the dollar and the global financial system to shut down any bank or bank account in the world. It can use its control over Apple and Google to remove apps from the App Store and Google Play. So yes, it is true that other countries do not have full sovereignty over what to allow on their territory. Unfortunately, we – the 96% of the world’s population living elsewhere – are dependent on decision makers elected by the 4% living in the US.

This may change in the future. But today, we are in a vicious circle: you can’t bring more balance to an overly centralized world exactly because it’s so centralized. We did try though. We're leaving it to the the next generations of entrepreneurs and developers to pick up the banner and learn from our mistakes.

I am writing this post to officially announce that Telegram’s active involvement with TON is over. You may see – or may have already seen – sites using my name or the Telegram brand or the "TON" abbreviation to promote their projects. Don’t trust them with your money or data. No present or past member of our team is involved with any of these projects. While networks based on the technology we built for TON may appear, we won’t have any affiliation with them and are unlikely to ever support them in any way. So be careful, and don’t let anyone mislead you.

I want to conclude this post by wishing luck to all those striving for decentralization, balance and equality in the world. You are fighting the right battle. This battle may well be the most important battle of our generation. We hope that you succeed where we have failed.

https://telegra.ph/What-Was-TON-And-Why-It-Is-Over-05-12

One thing though, it looks like they spin everything to look likes they are the victim here and blame everyone, including the system but themselves.
7419  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: WBC Explores Possibility Of Remote Scoring For Upcoming Fights on: May 13, 2020, 12:43:22 AM
I forgot to include this one, we all know that boxing is business and there are a lot of politics behind it. Mauricio and his father the late Jose Sulaiman will not have in power if there are no boxing politics. So maybe this is one reason why they want to protect their judges first and have them score outside of the ring. Let's see how they will overcome this kind of scoring if ever they stage a fight during his pandemic.
Is there any major fights they are planning to put together, but having judges score via video conference is not that bad but we need to have regular judges too, most of the time the judges in boxing comes out with shady results and hence extra judges via live video feed would be a perfect situation to overcome all these shitty judges issues, but putting everyone behind a live video feed will be a bad decision.

I'm not sure if there's any major fights using this scoring method, but there are talks about Golden Boy Aims For July 4 Return, Would Consider Canelo Fight Behind Closed Doors. This is going to be interesting as we all know that Canelo is the new cash cow in boxing. WBC has it's form of guidelines, but there should be at least a unified rule if ever boxing continues in this pandemic.
