You can only get put on there by someone who is already on it. They need to add you to their trust list.

Thanks.
7423  Other / Off-topic / Re: Seagate now shipping 8TB drives on: December 12, 2014, 12:27:45 PM
Wow, very reasonably priced. Cheapest you can get a 4TB Seagate over here is around £100. This is only £165. I'll probably buy one or two if they're that price when they're released over here.
7424  Economy / Services / Re: [PrimeDice] (Staff Only) Earn Bitcoins Simply By Posting on: December 12, 2014, 12:08:25 PM
I've completely missed out on this. Interesting deal indeed, the idea is great.
However I do not agree with the ones saying that Off-topic shouldn't be worth anything. If you really look at it, there sometimes tend to be great discussions of value in it. However, posts like in that thread where you only post a single image, or word games should be nullified.

Now that I realize it, off-topic is probably more valuable in terms of post quality than games and rounds. Off-topic has some pretty good discussions in it, but I see why they don't pay. Some have nothing to do with bitcoin, but games and rounds has things like giveaways, and sometimes are related to gambling so I see the logic there.

Agreed. Off topic gets a bad rap but it's only really the spammy pointless threads in there that shouldn't be counted. I barely post in there anymore but have had some pretty good discussions in the past. I wonder if there would be a way to add certain threads to the bot so they're not counted at all or maybe posts under a certain word count (say 5 or so)?

Surprised that local foruns worth only 1 point.
I must admit that these sections have less people than the rest, but this is a very restrict part of the forum since its closed to the speakers of the language.

Sadly it's easier to spam and go unnoticed in the Local boards due to lack of moderation. The Chinese section had a massive problem with bots that were building their post count up in there.

If anyone else has suggestions about some sections being unfairly allocated points and you think it'd be beneficial to change, let me know here Smiley

I think the Staff forum should be worth 5 points  Cheesy.

The most spam that happens are in those sections so you clearly did think this through. But I have a feeling there will be such a huge focus on the gambling perspective of the site with spam posts. Strategically, I understand why it's the highest paying, but perhaps other sections should be included too. Sections where BTC is spent, mainly the market place.

I agree with this and think it could potentially lead to problems. Some people will obviously push themselves to post as many posts they can or even exclusively post in there and cause flooding, though that may be good from an advertising perspective, but I personally don't think more posts in that section is going to necessarily equal more direct hits and people have just as much chance of seeing and clicking on a link anywhere else. Wouldn't it be better to just put Gambling with the 2 pointers? You'll still get plenty of people posting in there but just as normal and I think having the forum blanketed in PD ads everywhere as it was previously is better than having them flooded in certain sections and is overall a better strategy.

As i said earlier,  off-topic board shouldnt be paid at all. Only spammers visit that section and anyone hardly reads whatever has been previously written by the forum users. People just post random things over there and noone is gonna view pd's signature over there(except for other signature spammers). So stop paying off-topic board posts and stop SPAM.

How do you know any of this? Any stats to back the claims up? Seems to be wholly opinion, one I'd largely disagree with.
7425  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: BEWARE OF Raveldoni/SamTseudo on: December 12, 2014, 07:58:39 AM
Fast forward back to September 2011:

What do you say to this?

What does this have to do with anything?
7426  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: BEWARE OF Raveldoni/SamTseudo on: December 12, 2014, 07:28:13 AM
I have "tried" to extort just two members, which utterly failed. And I made no direct threats, just asked for BTC in a rude manner. I apologized about trying to do that.

How many times do you need telling that just because you failed in scamming doesn't mean you're not a scammer.

Tomatocage's been really active behind the account buying/selling detective work, and I trust his judgement.

OP, can you screenshot the PM's you mentioned?

This jibes with the sort of thing I was afraid of. Selling of accounts, while acceptable by forum rules, is often times questionable. Many people will rationalize it with the idea that "people purchase accounts to participate in sig campaigns" but yet Raveldoni's sig shows no evidence of this. Gotta go with Occam's Razor on this one, unless Raveldoni can offer a plausible explanation.

Most people do buy them soley for signature campaigns but of course occasionally they will be bought to try scam. The good thing is this community is pretty good at busting them before they get a chance to and this thread is another great example of that.

There's a thread for Pakistan in the local boards. Try ask there.
7429  Other / Meta / Re: Communist style censorship on btc talk forum on: December 11, 2014, 05:23:30 AM
I love how people complain about censorship when their thread merely gets moved into the correct section  Roll Eyes.

I think Theymos must have sold his account.

Over the past couple of months whoever is posting as Theymos is showing way too much of a sense of humor.

Ha. It's the best way to handle these type of threads/users. You'd probably go insane if you took them seriously.
7430  Other / Meta / Re: My trust level is not rising up on: December 10, 2014, 03:13:55 PM
You can leave trust but whether it shows up in the trusted or untrusted part is down to whether you have been put on the defaulttrust list which you are currently not.
7431  Other / New forum software / Re: Old usernames which are inactive on: December 10, 2014, 03:06:45 PM
Perhaps, instead of deleting the user, we could just change the name.
For example, on another forum I am a part of, if an inactive user has a name that someone else wants, a 1 is added to the inactive person's name. This both preserves posts and allows people to have the username they want.

How long do they have to be inactive for? Makes sense for the new person to just put the 1 in front of their name. I don't like this as an idea.
7432  Other / Meta / Re: [ ? ] Activity stuck on: December 09, 2014, 06:40:55 PM
Well you've best try work it out with Tomatocage as he is the only person who can remove it. You may not have scammed but some people may find your behaviour suspect and many people don't trust purchased accounts and leave negative feedback on them.
7433  Other / Meta / Re: [ ? ] Activity stuck on: December 09, 2014, 06:31:08 PM
So I will not receive the old activity ?  I've seen some users have *received* back their activity....

edit: Today I've received back more than ~ 35 activity point... so I think I'm right.

You won't get more than 56 activity points until the next period where you can get another 14. It's possible to collect activity points from all the two week periods you have previously posted in as you did but now you've hit your limit. The age of the account is irrelevant if you haven't made at least one post in each of the two week activity periods.

Now Why I've received a negative feedback ? I really don't understand ?

Because Tomatocage doesn't trust you probably because you look like a hacked or bought account. Did you purchase this account thinking it would get a higher activity?
7434  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: ★☆★ 777coin.com - The Modern Bitcoin Casino! ★☆★ [Free mBTC!][Get Yours Now!] on: December 09, 2014, 04:02:02 PM

Thanks.

How do I unsubscribe to this thread?  I have tried watch and unwatch, but it still come sup in my "Show new replies to your posts." list.  Most annoying.

You'll have to delete all your posts in this thread to remove it or just use the Watchlist feature and only watch threads you're interested in.
7435  Other / Meta / Re: TIL Activity does not work on precisely 2 week intervals + interval timings on: December 09, 2014, 03:58:24 PM
The above was your first post in this new period so you now need to wait for it to update. Your first post this morning was before the new period had started.

No, not really, but I'm sure he'll update me when he's ready. I'm as eager to find out details as much as everyone else is.
7437  Economy / Services / Re: [PrimeDice] (Staff Only) Earn Bitcoins Simply By Posting on: December 09, 2014, 01:38:16 PM
I don't really know anything about the campaign specifics but I'll let you know when I get it / I'm sure Stunna will update us all fairly soon.
7438  Economy / Services / Re: [PrimeDice] (Staff Only) Earn Bitcoins Simply By Posting on: December 09, 2014, 01:00:01 PM
@bitcoinnutjob There's nothing wrong with everything you mentioned or having the occasional short sentence where appropriate but it's when a person's entire post history consists of 5-word sentences that have next to no effort gone into them and add nothing to the conversation that I'm talking about.
7439  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Trust feature on this forum? on: December 09, 2014, 07:53:54 AM
What's the best way to spot an alt account? Are most newbies alts? Can we make them traceable like get their IP addy or something? Even tumblr has that feature.

Observation and good old fashioned detective work. Sometimes you can tell users are the same by their posting habits or use of language. I've busted a few scammers and spammers this way.

As far as IP us regular people are not able to get it.   Which is good and bad.  Good is you don't have your IP shared with miners on it.  Bad is makes it harder to detect multiple accounts.

It's not bad if you want your accounts to remain unknown for genuine reasons, but this is just another example why users need to be extra vigilant around here and careful who they trust.
7440  Economy / Services / Re: [PrimeDice] (Staff Only) Earn Bitcoins Simply By Posting on: December 09, 2014, 07:38:20 AM
I'll be checking users before sign ups and monitoring them closely during, but half of these users likely won't even be accepted onto the campaign to start with so they've best up their post quality staring from now. People who just make short one-liners with minimal effort going into them have best change that because this isn't what Stunna wants from this campaign or is willing to pay for.
