Please elaborate on where this new money will come from?

wall street

I'm not saying anyone should or should not try playing the market, but cautioning that bitcoin has proved violently unpredictable in the past.  The next run up could come at any moment, and blow your reentry point forever.  It has happened to me, and I was pretty certain that I was just playing a swing at the time.

I have been thinking a lot about the doge phenomenon and it is really quite interesting.

Conceived as  a parody, think of it as an actual implementation of CosbyCoin, it is one of the more elaborate mass trolls of our time.

I believe its intention was to point out the absurdity of cryptocurrencies in general, fair enough, this is a pretty out-there idea whatever its merits, but it has kind of blown up in the creators faces and threatens to teach the creators a lesson about the fundamental nature of money; that ANYTHING can be money if only people agree that it is.  It puts me in mind of the Rai stones of Micronesia.

The absurdity of cryptocurrencies?

Yes, now to be clear, in my view they are far LESS absurd than fiat, but what do I know?

who says the website needs to be based in the US?

and we have taken the "cash" out of the equation
7432  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why doesnt someone make a cash only exchange? on: December 21, 2013, 07:53:39 AM
because it would be tied to an online exchange

an online exchange you could move value to anonymously

last time I tried localbitcoins I had to show my ID to deposit in the guy's account
7433  Economy / Speculation / Re: I've cashed out but this is not the end. on: December 21, 2013, 07:50:20 AM
I cashed out most of my fiat since this downturn.

I still have about 10% fiat that I need to cash out so I can walk away and come back later.
Why cash out specifically? Are you so bearish you think the exchange system is going to fall apart or start stealing too?

I prefer to have all of my money safe, so I feel a lot safer when I cash out all of my money into cold storage.
You're not worried about missing some phenomenal buying or trading opportunity? At what point do you deposit back and how do you deposit quickly enough to catch the buy?

I have a buying opportunity every time I get paid in fiat.

I made the mistake of shorting at $4 thinking it would go down to $3.50. I got short squeezed as it went down to $3.60 then climbed and climbed and climbed...

Now I just get what Bitcoin I can, when I can.

ZHAOTONGED!!!

I think so, at least as far as this thread goes...we have gone from "no wai, state will raep u" to having to drop by the coin store before going to the exchange
7435  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: December 21, 2013, 05:42:48 AM

it was a parody hatched on 4chan and the nether regions of reddit, it now has market cap of over $10M and is the fastest growing alt network

it reminds us not to take ourselves too seriously

please watch the presentation

bitcoin is about more than merely making us rich, and the value of our earnings will be determined by the direction the network takes as we navigate the rapids of regulation
7437  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: TAX of BTC in your country on: December 21, 2013, 04:53:14 AM
