7421  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What Bitcoin wallet that supports the hardfork? on: October 19, 2017, 04:22:22 AM
What wallet should I use to store my bitcoin and will automatically give me BTG on November?
I guess all those wallets that supported the August fork, BCH, will also support this upcoming fork. Electrum did and it is a secured offline wallet where you also hold your keys.

So i guess there's nothing I have to do as long as as my bitcoin is stored in my current bitcoin wallet except on wallet on exchanges. Thanks  Cheesy
Poloniex is an exchange. It awarded its clients who had Bitcoin on its site before the fork the bonus coin, BCH, from the previous fork. I guess some other exchanges did too.
7422  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How do noobs pick an ICO to invest and loose money? on: October 19, 2017, 03:41:37 AM
OP, how you omitted "Team" which is the most important aspect of ICOs everyone pays attention to after the "White paper" raises a doubt. The project team members are necessary to peruse and googled to know what track records members have and achievements they had made in the past so as to relate it with the project at hand.

I really enjoy this post. Investing in ICOs is great and really only takes thorough research to find good ones.  Those who lose money don't spend enough time researching.

I like your list of ICOs as well. I may be biased but another ICO worth checking out is Protex. We are a project that is targeting the massive market of data privacy, security, and anonymity.  Our platform is fixing a worldwide issue so definitely worth checking out. Our pre-sale is live so don't miss a chance at the largest bonus.

Here is the website: Protex
And here is the [ANN]

Of course, this is a biased assessment since your promotion is about your company.

7423  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: pump and dump on: October 18, 2017, 10:16:40 AM
sorry friend ,, i want to ask often i hear the word pump and dump in bitcoin ,, maybe some one would explain to me ,, what is the meaning of both? and what is the relationship with bitcoin? does it have an effect on bitcoin?

The ethereumdark coin (ethd) issue comes to mind. It is a classical dump. The pump and dump scheme is usually adopted by failing devs to ease themselves out and make easy cash by having the public deceived into thinking the momentary price rise of the coin is sustainable. The public rushes in, holders sell off their units and scamper.
7424  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Moving bitcoin before the new fork on: October 18, 2017, 08:17:28 AM
In the maddening rush to claim the free bitcoingold coins and in all we do, let us remember what happened with the dude who told his story here of how he lost 45.8 btc in the last fork of August 1. He wrongly moved his fucking 45.8 bitcoins and they disappeared into thin air! The story is found here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2059967.0
7425  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are countries now copying bitcoin to create their own digital currency ? on: October 18, 2017, 07:26:57 AM
Seems countries are now meditating  in creating their own digital currency just like bitcoin which is now used by millions of people daily as a payment option and investment purposes.

Yesterday we reported on how Sweden is considering it’s digital currency because of the massive decline in usage of the bank notes by the citizens.

Now in a fresh article , japan is now reportedly considering its own digital currency which is said to be called J-Coin and is intended to streamline the financial ecosystem.

Don't you know that success has many fathers, and failure a bastard? That is exca what is happening in the crypto space now. The Bitcoin module has proved to be a successful one and many countries and enterprises are keying into its adaption. It is a welcome development and will aid the government in controlling and getting its taxes. I really don't see this as an attempt to rival the Bitcoin, rather it is going to be a new way of advancing governance.
7426  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin to be Taxed...... on: October 18, 2017, 04:20:25 AM
This should be one of the good news for bitcoin growth. Meaning, the government can not be dealing with bitcoin with a long spoon while intending to din with it - dinning with it in this sense I mean collection of taxes.

Where the South Korean government or any government for that matter intends to levy taxes on bitcoin means they are looking at control or regulations and regulation itself is approval - this is good  Grin.

Yeah, naturally income are taxed and thats called income tax. We waiting for more adoption via income tax.

If taxing Bitcoin and succeeding will remove every tag of criminality from it by some countries, so be it. We all bitcoiners should be in support of that. Let the government tax every transaction on the blockchain as that will act as an approval of the virtual currency. Taxing it also will further increase the awareness and popularity of Bitcoin. So, it's a good one from the Koreans.
7427  Economy / Economics / Re: Generating Passive Income on: October 17, 2017, 09:26:19 PM
Hey folks,

I realise that the simplest way to make a profit on crypto at the moment seems to be just buying and holding Bitcoin, but I'm curious if there are any coins or tokens designed specifically to generate ongoing passive income for holding them and if so, how they work?

Appreciate any replies,

Airdrops have been mentioned. That's correct. Some devs do give out some coins from their work for promotion and advert sake. You can sell off these coins once they hit the market or exchange them for bitcoin .

Mining has been.mentioned. That's bullcrap! Mining doesn't give that passive income. It isn't even profitable anymore this day.

But how come no one mentioned coins that are into lending and lockdown programmes like Bitconnect coin and Regalcoin. These coins offer you the opportunity of a true passive income through daily interest paid on your lending investment with them. OP, you may want to google them for more insight.
7428  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC drop after fork 25th on: October 17, 2017, 07:36:32 PM
Do you think the value of Bitcoin gold is priced into the price of BTC, thus we will see a drop similar to the value of Bitcoin Gold after the fork?
I don't think that the continued rise in the price of bitcoin has anything to do with the expected value of  the new forked coin, bitcoingold. It has all to do with the benefit the people' had with past experience with bitcoincash fork in August. Every btc holder now looks forward to the oncoming fork and wouldn't want to sell off. So, there are few btc in circulation  and this little supply is bending to the tune of the highest bidder thereby driving the price on the rise.
7429  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: why so many currencies? on: October 17, 2017, 04:10:31 PM
I know the numerous coins out there makes one's head swoon sometimes. But hey, the more the merrier. Maybe we take note about the cryptos but how many of us look at the so many start up companies swinging up every single day? Let more come to the market and with time the wheat will be separated from the tares.

If a limit were put on social media after WhatsApp was created I am sure we wouldn't be having the telegram (which is better than WhatsApp). Just a thought.
7430  Economy / Economics / Re: Will bitcoin change the distribution of wealth in the world? on: October 17, 2017, 11:59:34 AM
Does anyone have information whether bitcoin would distribute wealth more equally across people than the current wealth distribution?

Or would the distribution be even more unfair?
Certainly, yes. I believe that Bitcoin will change the world distribution of wealth but I do not think it can be evenly done. Now, with Bitcoin, youngsters who follow the trend do come into wealth through their investment in Bitcoin, exposing them to this opportunity that they wouldn't have had. The story of the 12-year old who became rich after he invested his $1000 birthday gift from his granny into Bitcoin is a classical example.

Of making wealth distribution equal is an unachievable goal. No technology can achieve that.
7431  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Longest wait on: October 17, 2017, 11:05:56 AM

My longest wait when I holding my altcoins is 6 months
I know it is very long time but because of my patience, I gained a lot of money. I can say that holding our coins can make more profit.

What? I am not quite sure you understood the OP's question. He is asking of transfer time of transaction, not holding a coin.

Anyway, my longest wait was a little over two days. I was still a noob and that was my first transfer experience. It was with Changelly. I needed to make doge transfer and it somehow got stuck. Later, I understood the fault was from me. Ever since then transactions with them have been very smooth sailing. OP, maybe there's something from your end that didn't go in well and that could cause the delay.
7432  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Turning crypto into fiat or is that even nessesary anymore! on: October 17, 2017, 03:49:45 AM
Converting cryptos to fiat before spending it is non-negotiable for those if us in Africa. We really can't spend them except we exchange them for paper money either online on in person. The crypto idea hasn't really caught up here like it is in Europe and Asia. So, I would say yes, conversion is necessary.
7433  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Nobel-winning economist Shiller calls bitcoin a fad on: October 17, 2017, 02:23:14 AM
Old school economists, especially those following Keynesian economics have a real hard time understanding it. Especially people who probably dont take the time to understand it. I could list 10 brilliant people who think its stupid simply because they have had it explained to them poorly.
That is the point. They really neck deep into the Keynesian stuff that they don't realize how old school they have become. But why are they suddenly bad mouthing Bitcoin now. Is it because it made a mess of all their predictions that it wouldn't get this far? Why can't they come to accept that Bitcoin is an asset with a fiat dual characteristics. The excitement this coin generates will definitely be there among its lovers because the world had never witnessed a thing like it before. And certainly, that doesn't make it a fad.
7434  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Are you going to keep your BTC on exchange during the upcoming forks? on: October 16, 2017, 04:04:58 PM

More like once "beaten twice shy ". Your response have taught me something. I have to follow in the holding too because I do desire to get some of that benefit but don't know how the advantage will be, is it going to be like percentage or something....
No, it is not done in percentage. It is on ratio according to the last fork. It was on 1:1. It meant that 10 btc gave you 10bitcoincash. And 3btc was equal to 3bch. So, we also expect such sharing formula with this fork.
7435  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Need to sell BCC before SegWit2x on: October 16, 2017, 01:48:50 PM
Hi friends,
I want to hear your opinion.
I have some BCC..
Need to sell BCC before SegWit2x?
or need exchange to BTC only?
Thx.

For your info the ticker BCC is owned by bitconnectcoin, maybe what you mean is Bitcoincash, if that is the case then you need to sell your bitcoincash if you want to get a BitcoinGold when the fork comes, you can still buy back the bitcoincash you've sold.

Thanks for your observation. I don't know why the symbol confusion still exists even two months after the birth of Bitcoincash (BCH). OP, is there any other reason you want to sell off other than panic? If there aren't, then there isn't any cause for alarm. As for the Segregated Witness 2, I don't see it been much of a problem to Bitcoincash. I would rather hold unto the coin than sell off.
7436  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Microsoft accepting BITCOIN ??!! on: October 16, 2017, 10:37:11 AM
This is glad tidings to the crypto community. I have long awaited it and also expect Mark Zukerberg to  adapt Bitcoin for his business. A public declaration in support of Bitcoin from these bigshots rather than the negative Morgan tirades will spur Bitcoin more. Kudos Microsoft.
7437  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and ICO's on: October 16, 2017, 09:45:36 AM
With the recent forks coming soon, we are starting to see a huge appreciation of BTC...obv everyone is buyng now
My question is...wont this affect ICO's?
A lot of them recieve btc investments and they could hit they hard cap 20-25% earlier due to the increase of BTC price. Wont this force them to close the ICO, and raise a lot less than eventually planned...if we compare to dollar price.

You raised a valid point, honestly. But I think that apart from the devs expectedly taking that fluctuations into consideration in their estimation, the total units of coins sold should be the major concern. We have always known these ICOs to reveal to the public the total units offered and days sold off should be concluded. I believe the devs focus is on the units of sales more than the total cash raised because they already have that figured out.
7438  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: anyone else have ICO fatigue on: October 16, 2017, 05:59:26 AM
I am beginning to lose interest too. No, it isn't that I think some the ICOs are scams but because it is very difficult getting the coins after one has made a transfer to the company's site. The btc is withheld for days unending.

Why would any sane devs stress would-be investors and have a timeframe when their allotted daily sales would be made and most times the coins are sold out within two minutes. Yes, just two mins and you begin to wonder who and who were able to buy in if not a prearranged schedule by the devs and their teams. This scenario is ongoing right now with hextracoin and glasscoin ICOs. I have been in hextracoin for more than 10 days now trying to get in. Very stressful!
7439  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: HOT Jamie Dimon Breaks One-Day Silence to Call Bitcoin Investors Stupid HOT on: October 15, 2017, 08:23:58 PM
No amount of FUD or negative propaganda by Dimon or any other person at this time can drag the price of Bitcoin down until after the fork. The people's sentiment remains bullish towards bitcoin. The JP Morgan boss can parrot all he can and shout himself husk but his attempt will go void this time. He tried it once and succeeded but the cryptoworld seems to have waken up after that.
7440  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC or BCC or BTG on: October 15, 2017, 05:20:05 PM
We don't... There's only one version of Bitcoin. I have seen some posts regarding this or taking into account "several versions" of Bitcoin. I don't see where people find those, it's not possible.

You are right. I really don't know why people keep missing this salient information. Bitcoin is pioneer and on a class of its own. Others are altcoins whether BCH(I think that remains the right symbol) or BTG (We are yet finalize on this tag). With the Bitcoincash experience everyone should have established that no comparison exists. What is the current price of BCH now and what was it actually set out to achieve in the first place except mere rivalry...
