So which software do you (or plan to) use to manage your ~30 ASICs? Or you do it over standard interface?

sorry i just noticed your question, i use awsomeminer for now, it's hard to monitor everything through standard interface,
7442  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: My "mini" mining farm on: January 06, 2019, 09:49:55 AM
Swamp coolers are rather expensive here, they will be a perfect solution but honestly i am not looking for perfection, i am trying to keep the cost as low possible, it's also that most likely that mining asics will be outdated before going bad, so i see no need in providing the perfect cooling method for those soon to become paper weight, i always try to roi asap, because you may never know what could happen next week.
7443  Economy / Reputation / Re: Red trust without any reason/ Making money with red trust sale on: January 06, 2019, 09:15:25 AM
looks like he earn money with making red trust for someone else.

I don't know suchmoon personally but judging from his/her posts and other feedbacks i am pretty sure this is a false accusation, i do not think he/she gets money to tag people, but rather trying to tag scammers to protect the forum members, i am not saying her feedback on you is 100% proper as i have no idea what minex is ,so it could be legit and the feedback should be removed, also there is a good chance that it's a scam project that you shilling and you deserve the tag, either ways I think you should have tried to solve this issue with suchmoon in a proper manner by sending him/her a PM or at least asking for an explanation without having to accuse anyone for getting paid for tagging people, because after this i am willing to bet the cat that this red tag is not going to be to removed.
7444  Economy / Reputation / Re: Need help with an oddball post by xysheeh03 on: January 05, 2019, 08:56:43 AM
After few hours of investigations and research I found the original post, it was translated from an article written in Arabic:
https://arab-btc.net/%D9%85%D8%A7%D9%87%D9%8A-%D8%AA%D9%83%D9%86%D9%88%D9%84%D9%88%D8%AC%D9%8A%D8%A7-%D8%A7%D9%84%D8%A8%D9%84%D9%88%D9%83%D8%B4%D9%8A%D9%86-%D8%9F-%D8%B4%D8%B1%D8%AD-%D9%85%D8%A8%D8%B3%D8%B7-%D9%88%D8%B3/
Here is another post translated from English to Arabic and posted in the Arabic local board:
Original:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5031105
After translation:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5059762

I confirm, the quoted post is translated from the Arabic article, almost identical.
7445  Economy / Reputation / Re: [self-moderated] Report to Merit Source on: January 05, 2019, 08:47:17 AM
this is a great idea , i just hope that merit sources won't spend all their merit on only topics suggested by others, and still explore the forum the way they doing now, of course it's a plus to find all the deserving topics in a single place, but sure thing many good posts will not be reported here.

Post a link to a good post with not Merit.
did you mean to type "not enough Merit" or " no Merit at all"  ? if the second one, then i think it's not a great idea, some great posts with only 1 merit will be excluded and i think there should be no limit on how many merit a good post can have.

i would also suggest that a person should NOT post their OWN posts.

i put this on my watch-list, I have some sMerit that i am willing to send to those good posts.

Good Luck
7446  Economy / Reputation / Re: 5 suspects Full members accounts on the same signature, Same Owner? on: January 05, 2019, 08:33:13 AM
I do appreciate your work but let me ask, how is having multiple accounts against the forum rules?   based on this thread > https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=703657.0

i don't see a single rule that prohibits having multiple accounts on the forum, it's only the rules of the signature campaign mangers, therefore it's their job to monitor the people wearing their signature, and even if someone was caught violating the signature campaign rules, how is that relevant to DT members tagging those people?  signature campaigns are one of the main reasons for the forum turning into mostly a shitpost place, why is it anybody's duty to protect the signature campaign rules? let them handle their own work, also given the fact that the majority of these camps belong to some shitcoins that will probably vanish "scam in a way or the other" i think it is a waste of resources trying to find the signature campaign abusers, we rather be digging deep on scammers instead. it is also hard to be 100% sure with just the proof you posted, there will be 100s of explanations by those users on how are you wrongly accusing them, even though chances you are right, it's just not enough evidence that you are 100% right.
7447  Economy / Reputation / Re: Poll: is it OK to send merits to your own alts? on: January 05, 2019, 08:02:45 AM
I think merting your own posts that comes from your own alt account is like a hotel owner reviewing his own hotel on TripAdvisor.
it is very unethical in my opinion, the merit system is already not doing so great, and if own merting would be allowed it will make things worse.

this will also affect those who don't have enough sMerit to send to their alts, and will keep the existing sMerit circulating among certain users own accounts, and newbies with good posts and without an alt full of sMerit will unlikely be able to get any merit.

check the temps, S9 auto reboot when temps are high
7449  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to post more effectively and get more Merit. on: January 05, 2019, 07:37:21 AM
Isnt this post referring to censorship in a way?
Telling people how to post is just as bad as being stalked by the grammar police!

I am not a moderator on the forum neither i am enforcing any rules, censorship comes from those who have the power to enforce rules, i am just trying to help those who want to earn merit but can't. it is up to you to post however you want , even a single word post is possible on the forum.
-----------------------------------------------------------

most of you disagree with adding some words to their initial statement , but those who get enough merit for their posts know what i am talking about. it is more of physiology based theory, for example a topic where someone is asking if bitcoin is dead and your answer is just "No it is not"  , in a perfect world that's the a good answer but i am willing to bet the horse that you won't get merit for a post like that, chances are people are just ignore your post, on the other hand if your answer is " it's wrong to think that bitcoin is dead just due to price decline, bitcoin is not dead , what is happening is normal".

those 2 statements have the same answer of 'NO" in short, but the way your post looks is very important.
7450  Other / Meta / Re: Increase default font size on the Local Arabic board."please" on: January 04, 2019, 03:51:11 AM
At least for desktop, here's a function that can resize the size of posts. Bookmark it and click whenever necessary
(I haven't done any conditions to check for "Arabic" local section but this can be easily done)

Code:
javascript:(function()%7Bvar posts %3D document.querySelectorAll('.post')%3Bvar quotes %3D document.querySelectorAll('.quote')%3Bfor(var i%3D0%3B i<posts.length%3B i%2B%2B)%7Bposts%5Bi%5D.style.fontSize%3D"2em"%3B%7D for(var k%3D0%3B k<quotes.length%3B k%2B%2B)%7Bquotes%5Bk%5D.style.fontSize%3D"1em"%3B%7D%7D)()

Let me know if there are any issues at all. I don't know much of JS, but I'm learning. Smiley

tested, working, can you add a function for the Arabic local section with increased font size?  thanks

just type some bullshit to fill in your actual words.

Absolutely not.
We have enough bullshit in this forum already.

lol okay the word bullshit was a bit extreme, it's more like use a short opening-statement , i mean some people reply with a "Yes" or a "No" when they can say something like " well, it's impossible to know for sure, but i think it is a YES", even though a single word would suffice, it will still be more like a shit-post to most people.
7452  Other / Serious discussion / Re: My last year greatest mistake, what was yours? on: January 04, 2019, 03:08:38 AM
I can not tell you how to invest your money, but one thing  for sure is that when the bull run comes 'if ever' Alts will have better reward than BTC, simply due to their smaller market cap.

with that being said, great reward always carry great risk. so be careful.
7453  Other / Meta / Re: A different approach to solving the sig spamming problem. on: January 04, 2019, 02:59:52 AM
there is no point in solving a problem that does not exist in the first place.

the current situation is working just fine for the forum itself, the signature campaigns and the members participating.

it's all up to the signature campaign managers to chose their participants, it is not hard to filter the good posters for the shitposters. but most campaign managers follow the bulk ads sort of way.

plus, shitposters will always find a reason to shitpost, if it's not for money then for fun.
7454  Other / Meta / Re: Planing to translate whole topics to local board> need permission. on: January 04, 2019, 02:50:10 AM
While I applaud the initiative the internet really sin't the place for free exchange of ideas across borders/languages. It's more for transferring images of unclothed humans performing various tasks.  Tongue

That is 1 way of exchanging ideas, you get to learn new ways of performing your own various tasks   Grin

I want to clarify though, are you a native Arabic speaker or at least passably fluent as a local? If not I would encourage you to maybe find someone to partner with for this project as translations shouldn't be done through a translation service/program. However working with another forum member who's English might not be the best but can communicate may be beneficial for both of you.

Arabic is my mother tongue, this alone does not qualify me to be a professional translator but I have the translation experience needed, but i 100% agree with you, find a helping had will differently be way better than having to do the whole thing myself, i will check with "Kavelj22" ,he offered to help ,  i will see how to combine efforts together to make the work easier for the two of us.

btw, always nice seeing people from the mining board on Meta.
7455  Other / Beginners & Help / How to post more effectively and get more Merit. on: January 04, 2019, 02:38:21 AM
I Didn't know where else to post this , this goes to newbies ranked members all the way to legendary members.

Rather than telling you the DOs, i'll just list the DONT"s

1- Don't be a 1-liner shitposter

this is not Twitter, you will seem like a shitposter who is only posting to get paid for the signature campaign, even if there is nothing much to say , just type some bullshit to fill in your actual words.

2- Don't post  China great wall text

nobody has got the time nor the mood to read 30 lines for the same person unless it was Satoshi explaining  how to get free bitcoin.

3- stick to simple format

don't use capital / bold / kinder-garden like colors / weird ICO symbols on your tittle.

if you stop doing these 3 annoying things, you will be more effective, get more merit, more love and you can thank me later.

Cheers.

7456  Economy / Speculation / Re: What's the real price? on: January 04, 2019, 02:11:04 AM
haven't read the replies, so sorry if someone has already explained this.

the major difference in BTC prices is due to some exchanges have BTC prices against FIAT USD while some other exchanges price it against USDT. and UDST is not an exact 1 Fiat USD. so if you exchange USDT to USD to BTC the price difference will be much less than how it looks to you.

but still almost everything on planet earth is priced differently on different places, but usually the cost of buying at place x to sell at place y is higher than x-y / y-x price, but there are still some chances of arbitrage.

when you travel to a country and try to exchange USD to that local currency, you will find slightly different exchange prices even on the same street.
7457  Other / Meta / Re: Planing to translate whole topics to local board> need permission. on: January 04, 2019, 01:56:56 AM
ok so i think the majority suggest taking the op permission before translating, this will slow the process down but seems like the best way to go.

thanks guys.

i saw your translation, very nice , Arabic is very complicated that it looks so obvious if auto-translation was used. i can sure use some help. will send you a pm and see how can we work together on translating some good content.
7458  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: s9j hosted, often hashrate is 0 (on nicehash) on: January 04, 2019, 01:49:36 AM
This is typical of NH. You are not "mining". You are renting your hash power. The zero is when the miner switches from user to user I believe.

while this is true, but somehow wrong, if everything is workig great then you shouldn't notice any disconnect on your NH status page, the current hashrate has to always to be somewhat close to the average, the only thing i can think of right now is that the firmware he uses has some dev fees, that's one common way of the sudden 0 hash rate which will not show on NH if the miner is 24/7 directed to NH.
7459  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: s9j hosted, often hashrate is 0 (on nicehash) on: January 02, 2019, 01:46:47 PM
does it show 0 hashrate on your pool side too? if no > don't worry , if yes , do worry

possible scenarios
1- the ASIC is broken
2- it just needs a reboot
3-it just needs a reset
4-it needs a new firmware
5-your pool information might be wrong, no pool alive found, not hashing
6-you have been scammed.

there are probably another 10-20 possible scenario, without a screenshot of the miner status page, and the Kernel Logs, it will be hard to help you, you have not even mentioned if this s9 ever mined for you, whether it recently stopped or just never worked. don't be stingy when providing information regarding a technical problem you have, throw all the info and the pictures you can at us so we can help you.

Good luck

edit: post the pools screenshot too, there is a good chance you using wrong inputs.
7460  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Finding best new coins to mine on: January 02, 2019, 01:38:57 PM
This website > coincalculators.io

it has an option of showing "low marketcap coins" it will show you bunch of coins that whattomine does not.

now this is very personal, but i think it's not the smartest idea to mine a coin that yet to see the light, the risk is as big as the reward, the way i treat mining is that i mine the most profitable coin based on BTC income, and then use the profit to buy some new shitcoins, i don't risk all my mining effort on shitcoins simply because we may never see another bull run like 2017 where every single coin got pumped,i believe the next rally will favour good projects only, most people realized that the majority of these low marketcap are not worth the investment. but again i could be wrong.

you can also check shittomine.com , it got lots of shit-coins to mine.

and by the way, you need to move your topic to ALT mining, this is BTC only space.

Good luck.
