7441  Economy / Speculation / Re: Would it be foolish to take out a crypto loan at this stage of the bull market? on: May 12, 2021, 02:41:14 PM
It is no secret or great wisdom that it is not wise to invest money that you are not ready to lose, or money that is borrowed - and in this case the situation is even more risky because it is a cryptocurrency. Although the prevailing opinion is that the bull market will most likely not be completed at least until the end of this year - would anyone bet on that outcome with borrowed money?

Everyone has to decide for themselves, but I know there are still those who pay off debts from 2017/18 because they gambled with money that was not theirs.
7442  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: BIP39 word list languages importance on: May 12, 2021, 02:04:19 PM
This is quite restrictive and I do not think one needs basic knowledge of English to join crypto...

In some countries, there are very few sources of information on cryptocurrencies in the local language, so it may be crucial to understand English at least at a basic level. When I started with crypto I found more than 90% of useful information in English, and even today I can't get real information in my local language because people who should know something about it mostly do bad copy/paste of foreign articles without they understand the subject at all.

I have a few friends who have taken a serious interest in crypto lately, but they themselves admit that their poor knowledge of English is a serious problem when looking for some information online. Just look at this forum, those who do not know the basics of the English language can participate only in their local board.
7443  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What are apps you used when it comes to see the value for BTC and others? on: May 12, 2021, 01:42:25 PM
I know some may disagree, but for the average user who mostly owns Bitcoin and maybe a few altcoins, any apps is redundant and just poses a risk to your smartphone. I would also agree with Rikafip, because if you are not an active trader, checking the price every 5 minutes is not something that is normal and will take you too much time. I also had one widget (desktop) for the BTC price, but when I bought a new computer I no longer found the need to reinstall it - now it is enough for me to visit CMC and look at the prices several times a day.

Having already mentioned widgets, here is one that some may find useful (forum link).

7444  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [Donate] Building rice farms in the Philippines / Funding goal 0.007 BTC on: May 12, 2021, 01:23:39 PM
My small donation is on the way and I hope it will help achieve the goal in the end - and it would certainly be nice for as many people as possible to get involved with smaller donations - because as some say, every good deed in life comes back one way or another Wink
7445  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Freewallet or Atomic Wallet? on: May 12, 2021, 12:44:52 PM
If I enter my Trust Wallet phrase keys to another non-custodial wallet like Atomic Wallet, then I can see my assets?

In theory, this should work - but the most common problem is that different wallets use different derivation paths, which then does not automatically generate the identical wallet (private keys) you want to recover.  Specifically as far as the Atomic wallet is concerned, I found this answer to a similar question :

Our import function is working as a regular transaction. So when you are importing your keys/phrase to Atomic Wallet, your assets will be transferred as a blockchain transaction with a network fee paid to miners.
That is correct, your XRP and EOS addresses have to be activated in the wallet. As Atomic produces your new unique addresses for every coin.
Our 12-word mnemonic seed is compatible with any wallet supporting 12-word mnemonic phrase. The way your assets will be transferred from Atomic is determined by the wallet you are importing your keys/phrase to

This means that they do not support the classic seed/private keys import, but only the sweep option.
7446  Economy / Economics / Re: I feel the report about UK economy losing 700 billion is wrong!!! on: May 12, 2021, 10:39:49 AM
There is a mixture of news but it is widespread that the vaccine does not really offer immunization. I don't know which particular vaccines, though. At least to someone who's got it from Pfizer, he/she may still be infected with the virus and will remain to be contagious. It seems the vaccine is not strictly a vaccine as it does not immunize but only prevents possible infection from getting severe. Not to mention that the virus has already mutated into several variants, some of which might be beyond the effectivity of the vaccines.

Each Covid-19 vaccine gives immunity to the person being vaccinated, except that the percentages of immunity levels are different - so the AstraZeneca vaccine is said to protect in only 60% of cases - but to protect against severe disease in 100% of cases. In other words, it's not about people not getting infected, it's about not developing a severe form of the disease and ending up in a hospital with a fatal outcome.

Given that the costs of hospital treatment are very high and that the UK has a very small number of intensive care beds and medical staff in general (compared to the EU), relieving the medical system means a lot in financial and psychological terms.

There are already a lot of cases of people who have received 2 doses of the vaccine (from any manufacturer) and still become infected - so I don't think precautions should be completely abolished after vaccination - masks and hand disinfection should still remain one of the main ways to protect against virus.
7447  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: blockchain.com hacked. I need a bit of light shared please on: May 12, 2021, 10:17:04 AM
I didn't have an imported address. It seems like someone found an exploit and after 4 transfers it stopped working. So either blockchain.com has a big security flaw or someone there is in on it.

If you visited the link from my previous post you could see that something really strange was happening on that service in the past, it is possible that it is still happening today, and that someone from your previous transaction combined with a vulnerability that still exists managed to come in possession of your coins - but that transaction that returns part of the coin to you suggests to me that it is a script that did not do the job as its owner intended. I don't know if you've already tried to find some answers on Reddit, maybe you'll catch the attention of some people who will know something more.

If nothing else this is an expensive life lesson to you that you don’t need to trust anyone to be your crypto bank - all that BTC should have been in a much safer place, I hope you’ve put the rest in a safe place.
7448  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Freewallet or Atomic Wallet? on: May 12, 2021, 09:55:29 AM
I think he meant he is a participant in a giveaway that was hosted by his favorite wallet. Either way, he is a shill of that wallet just by looking at his post history.

I didn’t focus on what he was trying to construct in that post (promotion giveaway), but on the fact that it’s about someone who is also more than obviously part of their team. Given their reputation, this kind of promotion is really proof that they want to gain as many users as possible in all possible ways - and if we save only one, we have already done something good.
7449  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Freewallet or Atomic Wallet? on: May 11, 2021, 02:50:42 PM
Deciding between those two wallets, I'd vote for Freewallet. I find it more secure thanks to the fingerprint login and the email confirmation.
Also, they got a Multi-currency app where you can store up to 150 coins and tokens.

Of course, what else would you choose but a wallet to which you are business-related - but the reputation of your service is catastrophic by the standards of this forum - fortunately there are enough of us who know how to look at what is below the surface.

Well, strategies are cool, but I've always preferred different giveaways. And thanks to Chrismas, we got many of them. Currently, I'm taking part in one from the Freewallet team.
7450  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin milestone from video game currency to corporate reserve currency in ten on: May 11, 2021, 02:31:12 PM
The death of US dollar is near. Stop living in denial, if you still think spending all your worthless money is not a financial advice and the best one!! Think again!

Of course, President Biden will send all his dollars live to Coinbase and exchange them for crypto, and then immediately transfer BTC to his White House hardware wallet Cheesy

Anyone who thinks that the world's greatest power will give up its financial sovereignty so easily lives in a world of fairy tales and great delusion. If necessary, the US dollar will be defended by force (military), and we should not even talk about that economic force, it is always present.

But, would love to see a link for the reference. Which company bought 100 million worth bitcoins? That's big amount it should have been in the news by now and in addition to this, it should have given good pump to the market as well.

$100 000 million is not money that is currently affecting the market the way you think, especially if it is a company that is not globally known. You obviously missed a lot on the forum, but here are all the investments (the ones that are publicly known) in one place, enjoy reading Wink

7451  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: blockchain.com hacked. I need a bit of light shared please on: May 11, 2021, 02:01:06 PM
Yes it doesn't matter now. What intrigues me is why they made 4 transfers in 5 minutes on April 18th and then another one on April 21th (which was sent back to me the same minute) and why they didn't transfer it all. They had like 3 weeks to do it. Something is not right.

Really weird situation, definitely not a classic hack in which nothing is left on the account. Is it at all possible that the stolen assets and those that were not stolen were separated - that is, have you ever entered private keys from other crypto wallets into blockchain.com? I'm asking you this because if someone comes into possession of your seed, they can very easily steal everything from you in less than a minute - but not the funds at the import addresses.

If I had to go into some theories, it's like someone who wanted to take a certain amount of money from you for some reason, because if it's not what I wrote above - I don't see why anyone would leave 19 BTC intact Huh

What I do know is that there have been some very mysterious cases of missing funds from this service, and one such mystery is described at the following link.

Thoughts on this private key stealing mystery
7452  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Cryptocurrency really pays on: May 11, 2021, 12:59:37 PM
Although it's all about money, Bitcoin is more than just someone buying or otherwise taking possession of a certain amount of coins, and then profiting from it. The real value that Bitcoin has is that you can receive or send a certain value at any time of the day or night 365 days a year, without asking for anyone's permission, and without anyone else knowing about it other than those directly involved in the transaction.

Just take a look at the early bitcoin faucets for example. Gavin Andresen's faucet handed out 5 bitcoins per visit. Those 5 bitcoins alone would today be enough to solve the financial difficulties of most people for many years ahead. And you could have been persuaded by a friend to try and claim it.

Not only faucets like the one that became most famous, but also about mining in the early years when it could be done with a regular home computer - and only one block guaranteed as much as 50 BTC in the first 4 years before halving. There is no doubt that those who knew and believed from the beginning were rewarded for it, but everyone has the opportunity to be a part of this story at all times - of course if they don’t look at the whole thing just from a profit perspective.
7453  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Safest way of long term holding on: May 11, 2021, 12:26:06 PM
It wouldn't break down if you rarely use it, we still have a television in my home that is around 6 years already so I think that a HW will last that much longer. Maybe I will worry about the other things about storage when I already have it in my table but right now, I think saving some bitcoin is top priority.

It is not just a matter of use, damage of some kind can also occur due to some external influences such as humidity or exposure to increased temperature. When you talk about the time capsule, then it first occurs to me that you might bury the device underground in some sort of protection or you might even use concrete and hide it somewhere in your basement. At least when it comes to Ledger, I know that these are not some premium materials (at least as far as the S model is concerned), and that these devices are not made to last indefinitely.

As for other devices, I also have a TV that still works -  it's over 15 years old, and who knows how much longer would have lasted if the digital age hadn't sent it into a well-deserved retirement.
7454  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Safest way of long term holding on: May 11, 2021, 10:41:03 AM
Probably that's the best by far, I plan to buy one this year and fill it with bitcoins and leave it on a time capsule and let it stay there for five years and if the prices do go up in the future then lucky for me because I will get a lot of profit.

Maybe it would be good to read all the posts from the beginning, there are some good observations on the topic of hardware wallets that would be worth considering. As much as HW has advantages, you should also take into account the fact that these are electronic devices that can break down at any time - and then only backup can save you. Consequently, if you already have an idea to store something in a time capsule, it could simply be a backup (seed) generated in a safe environment using Electrum.
7455  Economy / Economics / Re: I feel the report about UK economy losing 700 billion is wrong!!! on: May 11, 2021, 10:15:17 AM
A country's recovery cannot be measured by how many people have been vaccinated, because it is a public fact that the vaccine has a limited effect and does not protect 100% from infection. At this point, it is not possible to say with certainty how long immunity will last in people who have been vaccinated - but some analyzes say that it could be around 8 months - which means that all those who are vaccinated at the beginning of the year may be exposed to the infection again next winter.

What is an additional weight for the UK economy is of course Brexit and there is no dilemma, the numbers are clear, and they say that last year was the worst in the past 300 years. An important part of the UK economy is tourism, which accounts for about 10% of total revenue and employs just under 4 million people - and we all know that mass travel will not happen this year, and perhaps not even next.

Long-term forecasts can sometimes be wrong, but I don't think experts have gotten such a figure up their sleeve - the fact is that the UK has the biggest economic downturn that is not only the result of a pandemic, but also Brexit.
7456  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Beware of Telegram Fraud !!!! on: May 10, 2021, 03:02:56 PM
Combination Telegram -> Inexperience -> Desire for quick earnings = loss of money and time.

The idea that some with the apparent intent of persistently promoting “crypto is magic internet money” has only served as an ideal platform for all these scammers who literally prosper sitting in front of their computers and waiting for naive people to fall into their trap. For anyone who can't tell good from bad, my advice is not to use Telegram and some similar apps - nothing good will come of it.
7457  Economy / Economics / Re: bitcoin for everyone on: May 10, 2021, 01:57:01 PM
> what happend to bitcoin when the last block is mined? how the network will be supported and transactions carried on if miners won't recive any reward anymore?

No offense, you ask a question that has been answered hundreds of times in this forum alone - in short, in about 100 years (2140) the last block will be mined - but there will still be transaction fees - and if Bitcoin exists then, and be used by several billion people ...

What will happen after all bitcoin are mined

so. even in the most extreme case equal distribution of bitcoin among all people on earth is quite resanable and 1* ten to the sixth power USD per BTC looks alright. all we need is a mechanism of equal distribution/

Bitcoin is for me personally an alternative, not some ultimate replacement for fiat that has to happen anytime in the future. Therefore, it is not realistic to expect that Bitcoin will be used as you imagine, even now most of those who own it see it as a store of value - and not as a currency. Anyone who thinks the world's biggest powers will ever agree to replace their precious fiat that they control 100% with a decentralized currency with no control lives in a big lie. In addition, 45% of the world's population does not have access to the Internet today, they are completely out of any distribution.
7458  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's your bitcoin pizza moment? on: May 10, 2021, 01:03:42 PM
WTF? Huh You don't consider the disappearance of your depositors' 4100 BTC in 2013, now worth $238 million, your "bitcoin pizza moment"?

It was before my time on this forum so I had to check out what it was all about, but now I see that the OP is definitely wrong for its “pizza moment” and some still live in the belief that time erases all sins and mistakes.

No sense in crying over spilled milk, most have taken some wrong steps, which in the end come down to how much money anyone would have today if they hadn't sold or lost some coins - and what is much more important is whether someone has learned a life lesson from it or is still making the same mistakes.

Where have you been? I wish I'd met someone like you back in the days to tell me about BTC... unfortunately I only found out about BTC in 2013 by myself. That's my biggest regret. Of course there are more but sometimes I wish I have joined the train earlier.

I have the impression that you would be happy only if Satoshi Nakamoto called you and allowed you to be among the first miners - so you knew about BTC before at least 80% of active users of this forum at the moment, why so much greed?
7459  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: help plzzzzzz on: May 10, 2021, 12:30:32 PM
I’ve had that wallet for years and I’ve never had a problem with anything, maybe I’m lucky, and maybe it’s something else after all. It is true that there are complaints about this service, and there have been a lot of them over the years - but most of them should be blamed on users who are careless and think that nothing bad can happen to them. My password is unique, it has never been saved anywhere else but on paper, my email password is also unique, and I use 2FA (email) - and I always use a link saved in bookmarks - if everyone would follow this simple procedure, phishing would become a thing of the past. Therefore, I do not see how this service is worse than all other similar ones - and it also gives the possibility for backup (seed) + fee customization.

mhmmdpk, if none of the tips help, maybe the problem is that you have the "IP restriction" option turned on, and since I see that you use various VPNs, it is possible that you have been blocked from accessing your account. For more information visit the following link :

I enabled IP restrictions but my IP address changed and now I'm locked out
7460  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Storing Cryptocurrency in Coinbase Vault Vs Hardware Wallet? on: May 10, 2021, 10:36:20 AM
So I created a few threads about where to store your seed for your wallet whether its a hardware wallet like nano ledger/trezor or software wallet like electrum.  Of course with every option, there is pros and cons of each.

After everything you have asked in the past few years and after hundreds and more than quality answers, you are asking a complete beginner question "is it safer to keep crypto on a crypto exchange or a hardware wallet?" So after all, you haven't (and I believe you never will) learn what a private key is and how important it is for everyone to be in complete control of their private keys.

Now it seems to me that you are a completely lost cause or that you are trolling us all to incredible limits here - so I would advise everyone to stop wasting time on someone who will ask the same questions in a few years without adopting at least 1% of all answers.
