Capitalism yet again! ![Angry](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/angry.gif) I think it’s time for us to form an union for the hard working signature campaigners. Who’s with me?! We deserve more! Maybe a minimum wage, vacations, health care and lambos as bonus? ![Cool](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cool.gif)

Right now I just wanted to update the wallet automatically but now I have to go through the whole process of downloading, verifying signature, Installing the file and then restoring the wallets 😑
The “check update” feature doesn’t auto download Electrum for you. All it does is say “Hey, there is a higher version. Go to Electrum.org to download it”, so you still would need to do everything yourself. ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) Maybe sownloading, verifying and installing sound boring, but this is how you know you are safe and using the real software. If it auto downloaded everything, how would you really know it’s legit and not another exploit?

![Shocked](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/shocked.gif)

Bitcointalk.org is primarily a discussion forum, not a business ran to maximize income. There are many reasons against having Google ads, such as: privacy, preferring to have more control over which ads are shown on the page, and not wanting to censor more content than necessary just to please Google (to be compliant with their gambling policies, among others).
Start using Google Ads and scammers will use it to advertise phishing websites pretending to be Ledger and Trezor. Search "Ledger" on Google and sometimes you will get a scam website asking for your seed. We don't need Newbies coming here, saying that they got scammed by an ad they saw on the forum (also, ponzis). Google sucks. At least theymos knows what he is doing when he accepts someone's banner in the ad rounds.

No worries. It is really showing 3.3.8 as the latest version. Electrum gets the latest version from https://electrum.org/version, and it is currently showing 3.3.8 instead of 4.0.2.

What if Nexo just would buy a passport of Panama and say "adios, losers"? Would BitGo cover the losses?
BitGo only covers their own breaches. If Nexo exit scams, you lose money. If Nexo gets hacked, you lose money. If Nexo's employee withdrawals all the money, you lose money. What if BitGo gets hacked? Nexo holds their coins with BitGo, so they would lose everything, including their user's coins (like yours). However, since BitGo has insurance, they return the coins to Nexo. If BitGo gets hacked, they will give the coins back to Nexo. But if Nexo wants to scam you, you still lose money. Those coins are insured for Nexo, not you.

So, in regard to clients, how this guarantees of 100millions can assure me? In which cases, in theory, I can be paid by this fund?
BitGo (where Nexo holds their coins) got hacked? They give the money back to Nexo. And if you are a client, part of that money is yours. That's literally all.
|
|
|
They claim their 100 million (impressive sum) guarantees
That's because they hold their coins with BitGo. But that doesn't mean your coins will be covered if anything happens. All BitGo does is guarantee that in case they get hacked, Nexo gets the coins back. However, if Nexo does bad business decisions or they themselves get hacked (with hacker somehow withdrawing the money from their own system), there is no $100m coverage. In that case, you could only hope Nexo does the right thing and somehow can cover the losses.

What is the guarantee that some day (in 3 or 10 years) they won`t say you "no soup for ya today, mate, have a nice day"?
None. "Not your keys, not your coins". I started trying their competitor (Celsius Network) last Saturday and deposited some USDC to it (they also offer higher interest rate than Nexo). There are many things that could go wrong (hacks, exit scam, insolvency, etc...). You probably know how they can offer those rates, right? They lend money and ask for high collaterals to keep everything covered in case the borrower runs with the money. I'm not aware what Nexo did when BTC crashed earlier this year, so that's probably something you want to search about. I know that (at least for Celsius) it seems like they still managed to keep their business going and process any withdrawal. Nexo also had a data breach a few months ago, where hackers "got hold of a marketing database with personal data of the users", so keep that in mind. Fortunately, this - supposedly - didn't include any passwords or direct access to the coins. You have the risk of: the company being hacked (partially mitigated with BitGo's insurance); running with the money; losing your money. It's up to you to see if the rate is worth the risk. Does the company have good security practices? How do they lend the money? How do they handle the big crashes? etc... And of course, if you want to try out Celsius instead, PM me. I have a ref link which gives both of us $20 (not saying it's better or safer). ![Roll Eyes](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/rolleyes.gif) edit: Found an old discussion about Nexo which became active recently. Take a look at it: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5160150.0

What if the donators get tired and do not donate anymore, how would the moderators be able to be paid?
The forum doesn't live out of donations. theymos does ad rounds almost bi-weekly ( last one) for the ads you sometimes see under the threads. In the last one, he got 0.63 BTC (for ~12+ days). And he probably has some spare amount saved.

Why is the session token same ? The previous token is same as the next token token.. I have mixed three times and every time it is the same token
Did you forget to destroy your session? I've found out that if you have an active session, your session will be "restored" when you go back to the website, probably to avoid losing it before withdrawing the chips (P.S: if you do that in the same browser). If you use Tor, you don't have to worry about this, since everything you did is forgoten/destroyed by the browser after you close it.

how do i insert picture here?
Upload it to https://imgur.com and paste the link here. The "expiration" on your wallet is just there in case you want better control over your payment requests. For example, you want to get $50 from Bob. You generate an address with an invoice that says "payment for the pizza" and it shows it will expire in 3 days. Maybe you want him to pay fast, so the 3 days is just to keep things organized (if he's late, you will know). But even if he sends those coins 50 years later, or only sends $1, they will arrive just fine.

Is there a notification if our topic got move? I think this will be cool integration on some telegram bot.
It would be cool notification as well in my opinion. But forum doesnt have this kind of feature right? When your topic was move to another section/board only deleted. The forum doesn't log this anywhere, so I don't think so. This would only be possible if the bot kept checking a post to see if the board changed. I already check merits, posts and seclog almost simultaneously and the forum limits me to 1 request/second, so I would need to time this very well.

Your transaction is probably still in the mempool of miners otherwise if you want to wait on it (but as suggested you could rebroadcast).
It's a local transaction (not broadcasted). Read the OP, please. ![Sad](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/sad.gif) "The Transaction is only available on your local machine. The currently connected server does not know about it.You can either Broadcast it now or simply remove it."

I have downloaded electrum on my device and imported the private key but, seems the coins can't be actually spent. I downloaded the electrum about 5 hrs agao when I started facing the problem, from the electrum I tried to send bitcoins out since the it has remained pending till this very minute
You mean the transactions that load the chip are still unconfirmed? If that's the case, contact them: chipmixer@protonmail.com
|
|
|
If you want to send it, right click the transaction, go to Details and click Broadcast. If you want to "cancel it" (not send) just delete it.
Basically, you never sent the transaction. You just crafted it.
|
|
|
As its not broadcasted what can be done ? I think ChipMixers doesn't have regard for little transactions as $500. I even made a donation. I'm somewhat disappointed after days of research for best Mixer
1. Go to https://electrum.org2. Double check you are at the right URL. 3. Triple check it. 4. Download Electrum. 5. Verify the pgp signature ( tutorial) 6. Open Electrum and select Import Bitcoin addresses or private keys -> Paste your "chips" private keys. 7. You now have control over your chips and the coins on it. If you want more privacy, do not spend them all to the same address. Try to keep them apart from each other. You can click View -> Show Coins, and all your chips will show there individually. Right click the one you want to spend, select "Spend" and do the transaction.

The majority of people are using the bot on English so I stopped focusing a bit about translations, but I can always fix some strings. Thanks. We hit the 151 users mark! Thanks everyone for using it. I'm glad the bot has been useful. ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)
