7461  Economy / Gambling / Re: Gamblers: Please Martingale Carefully! on: November 30, 2014, 09:14:02 AM
But that is the question of all gambling - when to stop? Martingale is to easy to get sucked into because you're covering your back with each bet and when you start you'll naively think you're just making free money... that is until your luck runs out which it soon will. When to stop all depends on your own goals that you should set yourself and stick to, though obviously it's never quite as easy as that.
7462  Economy / Gambling / Re: Gamblers: Please Martingale Carefully! on: November 30, 2014, 07:32:33 AM
is martingale worth it still though? like when do we should we stop using it?

You stop when you're winning  Cheesy. Keep going and you'll bust soon enough. It often works in the short term providing you've got a big enough bankroll, but you'll hit a big loss streak eventually and lose your entire funds within a minute.
7463  Other / Meta / Re: Unofficial list of (official) Bitcointalk.org rules, guidelines, FAQ on: November 30, 2014, 07:25:45 AM
I voted to stickie

However,

4. No referral code (ref link)

Its sad the children have ruined this in the way they did.

You can post ref links but only if it's relevant to the thread. Ie if someone asks what is the best dicesite people can post their ref links for PrimeDice or whatever.
7464  Other / Meta / Re: Please Reply Mod only.... on: November 30, 2014, 07:21:49 AM
If it doesn't say a period of days then it's likely permenant.

The bit.in campaign seems to get a lot of signature spam banned accounts.

Yeah, I wish they'd pay more attention to their participants or not allow newbies. I've seen many people get banned then just re-sign up again and back on that campaign.

Now you are evading a ban, THEYMOS UNLEASH THE BAN HAMMER ON THIS BITCOIN PEASANT!

They're usually allowed to post in here only.

I understand his philosophy and enjoy discussing spirituality.

Heaven is the higher dimensions.

What philosophy is that? Crazyism and Trollism? Dank was quite clearly just having fun trolling these forums with nonsense.

7467  Economy / Services / Re: Need a new campaign maintainer for my 777Coin. on: November 29, 2014, 05:42:15 PM
I sent you a PM. I am also interested.
Please care to read some of the last posts.
As I already said, this hunt is OVER and Izanagi has been selected.
I don't see where it says that. His post is expressing interest just like the many other people who have posted here.

I want to maintain it if you wish.
But this is my first time to handle it.

PM me the detail
thanks
^^^this is the only time he posts in this thread. The OP does not subsequently name him later.

He stated it in the campaign thread:

Update: izanagi has taken the position of being a campaign maintainer.

Though you would think he'd update or close this thread too.
7468  Economy / Services / Re: [ANN] BIT-X.com Signature Campaign [Launching Shortly] on: November 29, 2014, 03:17:12 PM
The signature campaign will open in a maximum of 9 hours from this moment.

70 total slots (20 for heroes+, 30 for seniors and 20 for full members) will be available. All members will be carefully selected so don't bother trying to abuse the campaign with multiple accounts.

The above (apart from launch time) is subject to change.

Where in the forum rules does it say that you cannot use multiple accounts? It is my understanding that the use of alternate accounts is perfectly acceptable.

If this is not against forum rules then what is the negative to people using multiple accounts with your campaign? If you are using a pay per post payout scheme then this should not matter as long as the posts are constructive.

It's not against the rules but some campaign operators don't allow it, though it's very hard to police effectively. I think they are going for a per post scheme as well, but I agree it shouldn't matter as long as the posts are decent and constructive.
7469  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is it safe to have a vanity address? on: November 29, 2014, 07:49:57 AM
Yes, they are safe, but like paper wallets they're only as safe as you are and the site you used to create them. If in doubt don't use them, but there are legit sites and services that create them. I cannot vouch for that particular one though.

Are you sure they are safe?  They know your private key after generating your address - how can you be sure they will never use it?

I was referring to vanity addresses being safe, but obviously that depends on where and how you create them, much like paper wallets.

Yes, they are safe, but like paper wallets they're only as safe as you are and the site you used to create them. If in doubt don't use them, but there are legit sites and services that create them. I cannot vouch for that particular one though.

Why exactly would this one be less safe than others? Like Vod said I'm mainly worried about my private key disclosure. Do you know other websites that give out vanity addresses that are "safer" than this one?

Well like everything there are legit sites methods and sites/methods that will try to steal your money somehow. If in doubt with any service I just wouldn't use it because it's not worth the worry. I personally cannot vouch for any and wouldn't want to, but just make sure you do your research and know what you're doing first.
7470  Other / New forum software / Re: Ranks (similar to donator) on: November 29, 2014, 07:37:09 AM
Banning accounts here won't stop it but just push their trades offsite and further underground. People are often surprised to see that accounts are openly allowed to be bought and sold here and this makes people realise that they should be more careful with who they trust. Banning the sale of accounts would likely give a false sense of security that it doesn't happen. People can also trade accounts relatively safely using escrow here whereas if they're doing a deal with some randomer on a blog or something they're more likely to get scammed.

Okay, that's a strong argument ("...this makes people realise that they should be more careful with who they trust."). But maybe you understand what I mean. Account trading is always a risk, I mean it's not a Steam / Origin account, you can do business here...

I know and understand the risks and potential problems with the trading of accounts, but there's nothing anyone can do about accounts being traded whether we ban it or not and that's why it's allowed. People just need to be extra vigilant on who they deal with and trust as they should anyway on here.

7472  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: brokechain.com - what manner of scam is it? on: November 29, 2014, 06:50:42 AM
Ha. There's only ever one type of scam: the one that takes your money and doesn't send it back. If you ever have suspicions about something go with your intuition and don't use it.
7473  Economy / Services / Re: Need a new campaign maintainer for my 777Coin. on: November 29, 2014, 06:38:22 AM
I'm possibly interested if you could PM me the details. I ran and held escrow for the EdenDice campaign successfully and recieved very positive feedback from him for doing so (and also from a few other users on the campaign - please see trust).
7474  Economy / Digital goods / Re: Selling Signature Design Template on: November 29, 2014, 06:21:22 AM
Attitude/behaviour is not related to trust in any way.

I don't know about you, but I like to entrust my money to responsible people, not 14 year old HF kiddies.

Exactly what I was going to say. People don't want to do business with people who have a bad attitude. People's attitude and the way they conduct themselves and business here is pretty much the only way people can judge their character. Yours has never looked good and doesn't look like that's going to change anytime soon.

You think figuring out how to use color tags merits $75? Lmao.

Attitude/behaviour is not related to trust in any way.

I don't know about you, but I like to entrust my money to responsible people, not 14 year old HF kiddies.

Sir, please do not act immature and post off-topic replies. This thread is for sales, not random comments. That last sentence was an opinion. Please remove your useless post.

Thank you.

The irony. The only one acting immatire here is you.  Doesn't stop you making these off-topic opinion comments:

Why don't you take part in the ongoing contests? There are at least 2 available now.

Because people who know nothing about signatures are easily swayed into thinking a shitty signature is a good one. roslin's are a good example of that.

...Or making off topic comments in other signature threads slagging off their designs when you haven't won. Pick your toys back off the floor and put them back in the pram and learn to deal with criticism or stop critiscising everyone else if you don't like it yourself. Act like a child and you'll always get treated like one.

I am interested. But please at least announce it on 29th or 30th. Else, I will get confused on which campaign to join.

Starting it on the 30th or 1st would probably make it easier for everyone.
7480  Other / Meta / Re: Creating New Subs/Sections? on: November 28, 2014, 06:54:43 AM
I have a question. If I have an idea for a new topic sub-section (dont know if this is the right term...as example I would say "meta" is a "sub-section" of "Other") Actually 2 "sub-sections"

One would be an area for "Conspiracy Theory" because its all over the place in bitcointalk and I find it wildly off-topic MOST of the time, also it is largly disinformation at worst or simply a matter of personal belief at best. By definition, none of it is proven truth, thus the "theory" designation. It is highly annoying, creates huge arguments and ill will all around, how about giving it its own sub in the "Other" section?

One man's conspiracy theory is another man's conspiracy fact  Cheesy. I'm not sure they need their own section and it's hard for mods to decide which theories should stay and which are classed as conspiracy and are to be moved. If a post is off topic or completely ridiculous or trollbait it will likely be moved to off-topic anyway.

Also I was talking with another user about the possability of having a "Creative" section. There are plenty of users in here with talent to share, it just doesn't fit neatly anywhere on btctalk, yet.

Again, these threads would go in off-topic. Don't think there would be enough demand for a separate Creative sub.
