Does Bitcoin desensitize us to risk?
I would argue, based on personal experience: No. It does not desensitize you to risk. May have the opposite effect and make you more risk averse. It might desensitize you to volatility in crypto, but that’s about it from my experience. I’m used to the daily swings now. Losses that would have caused me to lose sleep and have a panic attack 10 years ago only bring a smirk to my face now. It does seem limited to crypto though. If my stock portfolio dips by a % point I feel like I have to eat ramen.

I don’t think we even need to worry about discouraging or policing this activity. Anyone stupid enough to spend money buying merit deserves to be parted from their crypto and anyone selling it will probably be wasting their time for pennies per hour. It’s what I like to call self regulated by stupidity. I’d rather these people were wasting their time peddling merit as opposed to sending unsolicited messages about an upcoming ICO…

There are people in paid positions on this forum and in DT who have been spreading lies about me and my activity for years.
Yep, it's all about you. More likely it’s all about creating an atmosphere where scams aren’t moderated and can thrive in order to help operations like chipmixer that launder funds to be able to kick back funds to those who join the team and help eliminate competition (legitimate projects) so that their bread and butter (laundering scammed funds) can thrive and everyone can get paid. So you think spreading misinformation in a topic about misinformation is going to help your cause? If anything, you're only going to convince a larger number of people to think less of you. I was somewhat indifferent to you before, but now you've managed to nudge me towards suspecting you might be scum. Great job. Nice signature. I had no idea who you were before, but now you’ve nudged me into thinking you’re a perpetual tool used to help foster an environment where scammers can easily launder their stolen funds and you can get a nice payout for posting dumb takes like this one. Makes total sense the guy who wants to not advertise money laundering for scammers here is scum, while the folks who profit from it are considered the good guys… Nothing to see here folks. Just more shit behavior being incentivized under the guise of freedom of speech. Just don’t Google bitcointalk censorship and you can maintain your fantasy.

I try to stay away from humans as much as possible.
Well that’s just good advice inside or out of a plandemic. While it’s always nice to have time with friends, interactions with random people in society can leave some things to be desired. It’s always nice to have your faith in humanity restored by the kind act of a stranger, but more typically I find myself shaking my head and wondering how some people make it…

How is it any different than a normal sports gambling for that to be legalized as if it's a different kind of gambling? Can someone tell me the difference because from what I've seen, there's not that much difference to a normal gambling.
It’s completely different from sports betting… Your betting on a collection of random individual’s stats compiled with an algorithm some team of developers made up to give an outcome that isn’t based on any team winning or losing. This leads to a greater level of trust in the service since results aren’t as easily verified as they might otherwise be. I imagine a great deal more oversight is involved from regulatory bodies as a result.

This is absolutely hilarious! Dwight is super excited to play again with the Lakers and the result was satisfying for the Nets . Thankfully it's just a preseason game where you can actually do something like this to adjust in the upcoming season games. I think Dwight showed exactly what the Lakers were missing last season. I don't think enough people give him credit for his role with the championship team. He makes the Lakers such a better team by giving them a dominant presence down low. AD is more of a finesse player as much as they want him to be dominant. Dwight makes guys regret being near the hoop when he's dunking. Like Shawn Kemp or a lesser Shaq. I think with this squad, if healthy, the finals won't be more than 5 games. AD being healthy is a big question mark though. Luckily with Dwight now, they might not even need him.

I just heard that the sugar show is on for December 11th. Looking forward to seeing him fight again. I’d really love to see him matchup with Paddy the Baddy down the line, but I don’t know if he’ll be able to put on that much weight for a fight and still be competitive. We’ll see… I think Sugar has this one on the 11th though. Might have to drop a few on the up and coming YouTube.

Then again, I’d rather just speak on my own personal experience and not throw scam enablers and those promoting operations assisting with tax evasion for their own profit under the bus. I’ll stick to pointing out the very clear and obvious cases, such as the manipulation being done in DT to punish those who speak the actual truth.

Pretty awesome. This is going to probably be the first real mainstream showing of our beloved collectibles. I imagine there might be a couple coin collectors out there that see it and decide they must have it. Glad you didn’t sell. Hope you laughed at the offer. I was a fan of the show once upon a time and hope I find myself viewing this episode at some point.
Thank you! Hopefully I represented the community well. Really interested in how it gets cut together since some things I phrased well and some I could have done better but overall I think it will be a huge net positive. I've yet to meet someone who is into crypto who didn't immediately want a Cas coin as soon as they found out about them. I didn't even counter offer when he offered spot, just too far apart for it to work. Definitely keep us updated. I probably won’t see it otherwise. I don’t watch cable anymore but I’d like to think you’ll be featured in some commercials for the episode as well. Surely with crypto being so hot right now they will use your goods to promote their episode. Would be great to see some clips and promo pics added to this thread when they become available.

Having NBA basketball back makes me genuinely happy. Now that I’ve aged to the point where I’ll likely never be able to dunk a basketball again, I have a newfound appreciation for these athletes in the heart of their prime doing what they love. Sure, it’ll still be a while before we see the superstars putting on a show in the heat of competition, but it’s just great to be able to enjoy a sport I love again. Can’t wait to see this matchup again in the Finals when it matters. Any other matchup besides Lakers/Nets would be a disappointment.

I'm going to go ahead and say that I don't believe there is any possible circumstance where I would ever find myself ending up in a death camp, covid related or otherwise. I'm simply not the kind of person that gets taken to a place like that while still being alive and conscious. It would take a profound fear of death to allow yourself to be treated so poorly by another of god's creations. I couldn't imagine it personally. Not to mention I happen to live in a state where the armed citizens outnumber any government organization making something like a forced camp visit highly unlikely.

Mining is a passion. If you don’t have a passion for it, you won’t stick around when things get tough which will keep you from realizing the best gains.
Holding has historically been the better yielding investment, so if your motivation is purely profit based, the odds are that this would be the best way to realize that.
The path of least resistance points to holding.

Let’s say you wanted to put a Bitcoin ATM in your house as a display piece (but still functional). That would mean likely a low volume machine that you’d want to look nice and also be made by a company that is going to stick around, or better yet isn’t reliant on any one company to remain functional. A low purchase price and no monthly fees would also be nice.
What Bitcoin ATM would you recommend buying?

I'm vaccinated, it is free of charge, and is done on my own volition.
Nothing is free of charge. We are all paying a great deal for it… Here in the US, the cost is quickly rising to nearly 10 trillion dollars. This ridiculous spending to fight a cold is going to hinder our country’s future for generations. I also don’t know what the policies are where you live, but if the other option from getting a vaccine is losing your job, I’d question the on your own volition statement. In reality, you were likely forced to take the vaccine or lose your livelihood and your great grandchildren will still be paying the costs, both financially and through loss of freedom as a result.

Where I live they just legalized fantasy sports betting. Now I’ll be able to bet on fantasy sports without being on vacation or having to spoof my location. With all the freedoms constantly being taken away from us lately as a result of this flu fear, it’s nice to be given a little something back. Who knows, maybe this shows that there are people out there trying to restore freedom, but more likely gambling companies hired the right lobbyists to grease the right palms and politicians being eager for more tax revenue.

If there’s one thing science has proven over the years, it’s that science can be disproved. Once upon a time someone proved the world was flat. They also proved the sun revolved around the earth. Don’t forget all that science behind the witch trials or that pesky bleeding out of diseases. What will science prove tomorrow? Hopefully not something that forces manmade injections on mankind…

I’ve sold several thousand coins here over the last 10 years (and 10x as many outside the forum). I think that may classify me as a coin maker. I’m also still pretty active around here (thanks stake.com). You can find the coins that are still in stock and available for purchase at https://nastyfans.org/mint - tell em Og sent you.

You just now realizing this? There are people in paid positions on this forum and in DT who have been spreading lies about me and my activity for years. They group up with other trolls and base their personal feelings of worth on whether or not they can inject themselves into discussions and feel important. They don’t care if everything they say is nonsense. Shit, read the stuff Vod said about me over the years. The lack of following up on threats from the administration has turned this forum into a joke in my eyes. The untrustworthy behavior started at the top…

“We must have a physical Bitcoin on our mantle. Otherwise, what kind of family are we?” Hilarious. Makes me warm and fuzzy to hear stuff like this and I can definitely relate also. I probably paid double the BTC amount for my coins then what they’d sell for today and I don’t regret a thing. I guess if you know you know.
